MUGGLED
Such a shame, both that the cache is gone, and the disgusting ppl that find it nesecary to deficate in the rocks behind the hut. Seriously you can walk to the top of the mountain but the 50m to the toilet is too much. Arrghh Leave no trace PPL.

Looked for quite a while.also found and area which definitely matched the description, but no cache. Went up tithe summit and then tried again after-but still nothing. I fear this one has been muggled.

Couldn't find it, despite a 10 minute search. It was a bummer because I had spare log books and bag in my backpack. Found somewhere which matched the hint and even had two rocks, but no cache. Is it in the hut's rocky foundation or behind that?
Searched and searched for this one but to no avail. Bit confused where it might be after reading the logs. Sounds like it was outside the hut but then got put inside. Thanks anyway. We stopped here on our first day of the Overland Track. This was an unforgettable journey for us. TFTC.
Tour group muggles when we walked past today. Would've been great to grab the cache after our hike around the face. Maybe if we ever come back to do the overland track. We did the face walk via dove lake first. Glad we did this part first as it was a lot easier clambering up than it would have been going down.
I am a little disabled and unable to do any maintenance at the moment. If the next finder is able to replace the log or add a plastic bag it would be greatly appreciated.
Found this after paddling across Dove lake, climbing the face track and then stopping here for lunch en route to the summit of Cradle Mountain. Hasty find between the muggles but log SO wet I was unable to write in it. no opportunity to dry it as too many muggles about. TFTC
This is a great location. The log book was to wet to write in but it was worth the walk.
Easy find on the shelf in kitchen hut on hols with the adventurous one hubby and kids. A little misty outside
Found it the Millfinders. I found it on the selve.

The first day of our overland track walk. It was very hot 34 degrees and with heavy packs about 23 kilo packs the climb up was hard going. A stop for a rest and using the admenities before moving on. Found the cache easily as this was the only spot for shade. TFTC a brilliant view too.
Very beautiful hiking trail to the Kitchen hut either via Marions Lookout or Horse Track or from the south via Overland Track. Easy found
Stumbled accross this one by accident - not sure if muggles or currawongs made it easy to find without GPS (or knowledge that it was there!). We sheltered here to eat our lunch before climbing Cradle Mountain. This was our first day of hiking the overland with 8 other members of my Rover Crew (Flash Rover Crew, SA). Lovely little place. Log was quite wet, but no ability to dry it out. TFTC
On our first day of the Overland Track we found this one!
With our 25kg backpacks we continued our way through the
impressive nature!

Two friends and I walked from the Dove Lake car park around the lake, then up to the Face Track, then traversed through a couple of snow drifts to the hut.
I had been describing caching, and one of the others wanted to find the cache for himself, so after spotting it, I walked away and let him have a go.
He was pretty quick!
The container is in good condition, but the log is soaked.
A beautiful spot I've been to many times, and hope to return again and again.
Thanks!

A great day to attempt the summit. A little windy but a nice sunny day for the middle of winter. I made it most of the way to the summit. Just one more false peak to go. But I deemed it a little too dangerous with the way the snow was covering the path. O well, next time hey? The cache container was dry, however the log book in the zip lock bag was pretty soggy and couldn't sign. Some one left post it notes so I signed one of them instead. Can the next person to come up kindly bring a new log book in a zip lock bag? Thanks for the cache up here.
I wasn't sure I'd find this cache as the snow on the plateau was so deep. As I approached kitchen hut the snow was half way up the downstairs door. The day couldn't be more perfect with not a breath of wind and glorious blue skies. Anyway, cache was easily found. Logbook was very soggy and I didn't have time to dry it out, signed it as best i could, TN but left a snickers (a well earned treat for getting here).
Walked here for lunch along the Horse Track via Crater Lookout. What a magnificent day! Going home via Marions. Log book wet & too many muggles round to be able to dry it out. TNLN TFTC
We were really looking forward to this one. We went for a hike over Hansons Peak and then had lunch at the kitchen hut. It was a challenge but we thoroughly enjoyed it. The views were magnificent. What an adventure. The log book was very wet and so we had difficulty recording our visit. We returned via marions lookout. Thank you so much razork.
One of about 106 found during a 25 day holiday from Victor Harbor to Melbourne with a lap of Tasmania thrown in before heading back to Victor. It rains in Tasmania!

Despite our best efforts, we couldn't find this one. Found a couple of likely spots, but 'twas not there. Either it's gone, or we were looking in all the wrong places (even with the hint)...
Stopped at the hut for lunch then proceeded to attempt the summit. Just like the previous cacher we had to abort due to weather. Returned to the hut and began looking for the cache but it could not be located. It was too wet and cold to search extensively though I'm sure I checked eveywhere that matches the hint.
Tried to find this one while on a tassie roadtrip, but was unsuccessful. Unfortunately, the weather was not kind on this trip, so the summit climb was abruptly cut short. Damn - two disappointments in a row: first no summit then no cache
After unexpected reception on the summit with my mobile I went back to the hut to get this one and then continued on the face track. TFTC.
Quick fuel stop. - had managed to use 3/4 of the hire cars' tank since leaving Hobart Airport and since we weren't entirely sure how far away our destination was we didn't want to take the chance if we were to run out of petrol. Towns with any service stations or shops were fairly scarce out here.

An absolutely perfect day for an attempt on Cradle Mountain! Huge blue sky, not too hot, and very few muggles around Picked up the cache on the way down. TFTC!
#684 @ 1.20pm on our Tassie Caching Adventure with DazzPete. Well during the night we heard the wind howling and woke to an overcast day. After a bacon & egg brekky we decided to give the walk a crack. At Dove Lake car park, Cradle Mountain was shrouded in cloud so we donned the cold weather gear and set off. It didn't take long before that was being shedded for more comfortable trekking and the day just got better and better from then on in. We hiked via Wombat Pool with our 10yo in tow up to Marions Lookout, then it was onto Kitchen Hut for lunch when the beautiful Cradle Mountain shrugged off the cloud cover and stood in her full splendour [^]. Dad came up with the find so that we could sit and enjoy lunch and log our find - pleasantly surprised to be 2nd to find with DazzPete. A muggle family was about at the same time but didn't hinder our search. We took co-ords as GZ had us a little out - at 4m accuracy on the Garmin we took S 41 40.540 E 145 56.769.
This was a brilliant walk and well worth the effort. We returned to Dove Lake car park via the Face Track (which was a little treacherous with a 10yo and snow) and then down to the Dove Lake Circuit past Lake Wilks. The GeoPrincess went for a bit of a slide downhill on the face but managed to stop herself by grabbing hold of a bush .
The 10.8klm walk took us 6.5 hours with The GeoPrincess in tow but a couple of chocolate bars along the way and some Dr Black (Coke) had her energy levels raised enough to keep going - we were very impressed with her efforts as this is by far the hardest trek we've taken her on thus far .
Took: Little Princess Keyring
Left: Bouncy Ball (good if the cache happens to get a little damp we thought)
TFTC - a pristine area to visit and we are so glad we did. Cheers [^]

After a cold and overcast climb up to Marions Lookout the day started to clear as we got closer to Kitchen Hut. We were followed by friendly muggles so were were initially restricted in our search but they soon left us alone. The geoDad from skullracer1 made the find some 13meters from the indicated GZ on both our GPSr's.
The hint was got it for us in the end.

I claim this as a ''first to find'. Managed to ski right to the hut although the snow was very sparse and very slow. I had been in the area three weeks previously and the snow was to roof level so I presume the cache was well hidden then. As this is a very highly visited area in summer, there is a high probabilty of this being muggled. TNLN. A good excuse for me to visit the area once again.
