Currently suffering with a twisted pelvis and associated aches and pains. Not sure it was the best idea to climb this mountain today but we did from the scout hut. Fabulous walk it was such a beautiful day for a climb. Had our lunch just before the summit. It was so cold at the summit was glad to have packed my beanie and gloves. Quick find at GZ and then to navigate our way back down.TFTC and for keeping this one going. Excellent to find a cache at over 1500m in Australia its only our 2nd (lots found outside of Oz)
Just managed to get in a couple of weeks before you are required to carry chains to drive up. A lot of ice on the tracks and pools looking stunning. Still some snow on the slopes from them testing the snow machines a couple of days ago. A lovely walk up to the cache. The trails map has this cache right on a trail heading straight down towards the village from there but we couldn't see anything resembling a trail there so went back down the same way up. The last log was from someone who found it by accident. TFTC
It's a favourite. Sitting here writing in the log and what views. Thanks for placing the cache in such a beautiful place.
Awesome walk from the Rovers Hut at Car Villa to Legges Tor return with dantheman470 , katie1376 and my other daughter we named as I AM NUMBER FOUR (book series/movie) as she was the 4th member of our hiking party and an invaluable aide on the geocache hunt.I AM NUMBER FOUR actually located this geo and we got a selfie to celebrate.Left a little geo swap in there to. Excellent hide. Thank you.
Really nice walk to a nice easy find. Just the way scenery caches should be. TFTC
A beautiful summers day - cold wind, snow about but just beautiful. TFTC. Safe and dry.

This isn’t found often. Well maintained and in good condition. Only accessible in Summer months.
Heading to the northern end of the Ben Lomond plateau on an overnight walk with some friends. Detoured up to Legges Tor on the way. Visited both summits as well as locating this cache. Lovely views up here on a fine mild autumn day. Had a great couple of days wandering the plateau and nabbing a few peaks.
I was the only person on the mountain early yesterday morning! Initially it was clear so spectacular vistas were impressive as cloud rolled in. Timing is everything when looking for caches amongst stocks at altitude- found the treasure, happily signed the log and then phone battery failed in the cold! Wandered back down marvelling at hard core Tasmanians who drive and ski up here in winter. Lastly - mission accomplished for an alpine challenge requiring 10 finds above 1500 metre but each in a different LGA. Two are in Tassie including this and one at Mt Ossa. TFTC - a fave too!
A new container (two in fact) have been placed. Not much of a view this morning with low cloud and a chilly breeze.
Started heading to this one and it started snowing, that’s when the rest of my geo family decided to call it quits, I soon followed
Unfortunately it seems that someone ignored the message in the hint. This is a gorgeous location, though. The terrain rating should probably be a bit higher than a 2.0.
Coords took me to an obvious high point but the cairn has been destroyed. No sign of a container.
RLD4963 and I also visited today and came up empty handed. We were here mid-afternoon so did not run into LeftRightShoot.
So super proud of our little family’s effort today our sin thats 3.5 years old did an amazing job up and down the mt.
This one had been on the wish list as a big one.
Just on another family adventure for the day and thought we would tackle all the catches on the way up the Mt.

Happy new year and thanks for the cache! No view here today due to bush fire smoke.
This is our 1000. Geocache in Australia !
It was a nice walk and we love it.
Thank you !

Thank you !
A fantastic area, but a bit surprising. Being from the US, where National Park means paved roads and crowds, this was a pleasure. We loved the dirt road and only saw ten people all day. Thanks for the fun!
A day out visiting the Ben Lomond area sightseeing and caching.
Made the climb up to the summit despite the gale force wind and water on the trail.
Still a few patches of snow about up here after the fall the other day.
Found the cache and managed to get the log signed and returned without anything blowing away.
Then a quick visit to the real summit for a quick photo then over the edge and back to the warmth of the car.

An early morning walk up here after camping nearby. This one was a race against time as there were severe weather warnings and you could see the cold front coming pretty quickly! With 110kmh gusts it was great fun getting here and tricky opening the cache to sign the logbook. Unfortunately one small item (a paper football from memory) was taken by the wind and disappeared like something from the tornado scene in the wizard of oz! Thankfully everything else stayed intact, and it was then off to the nearby trig quickly before the storm hit. A super location for a cache. TFTC!

We visited Ben Lomond whilst waiting for some work to be done in Launceston and camped at the nearby campground.
We were incredibly lucky with the day. Clear blue sky and we could see for miles.
Walked up to the cache via the ski lifts and back via the track. Fantastic walk. Gets a fav point from us.
Thanks razork.

Walked up today from the scout hut, low cloud, rain and a bit windy. Replaced container and transferred all contents.
Need a new box as the lid is smashed. Found it by accident as I wasn’t geocaching but it was sticking out so I had to log it.
Up here with the family. What awesome views!! Left them at the village and hiked up my self. Totally awesome and an easy find at the top. Thanks for the cache.
Up this way so had to do this cache, we checked out the route and with the weather not so good we called it and headed up after we had got our coats.
Nice little walk with us calling at a couple of the huts to investigate, once at the top with Toolman and the goose we spotted where we had walked from for a few seconds and then it was gone.
Added our names to the log after discovering the cache was damaged, so we put it in bag to keep it dry, next cacher would be good to bring a spare sistema.
thanks for the cache, we enjoyed it no end.

New log book and bag added to the cache as the old one was soggy (old one still in cache for nostalgia). Cache lid broken so the whole container has been put in a big snap lock bag.
After arriving at the village with 1toolman and stainless steel rat we decided we had to do the summit walk, not that we could ever see much. We investigated one of the old huts on the way up noting a caches dream inside . Up at the summit we found the trig point and moved onto this cache. After logging and a bit of a tidy up we replaced the cache when suddenly the cloud/mist cleared and we could see the village. It looked so much closer than the walk made it feel, and then second later it was gone again.
Thanks razork for a great walk, even though I've stiffed up my knee again.

WOW WOW WOW, I loved the drive up here.
So many breathtaking spots on the way up and no photos I got can possibly show how enormous the rock formations are. Out and about with GOOSE and SSRAT and we decided to head up the summit track to get here. Took longer than we expected since we had to inspect all the huts. (Or HOOTS if Your SSRAT)
Scrambled out way up and BOOMSHAKALAKA !
Upon finding the cache we saw it was broken and waterlogged, so not having a spare we made do with a new logbook and ziplock from goose and a large ziplock from SSRAT to place the cache inside.
New logbook signed and cache replaced.(message sent to CO) Back down we go, thank you so much for placing this cache so we could enjoy the area.

A great day out with gridge98 to the fingal valley to collect some caches. Most were fairly easy finds in some great locations. TFTC
A drove from mathinna up to the top of Ben. We
Made the long round about hike up the hill to this one taking about 1.5 hour return from the village. The cache is an easy find with some amazing views.
After attending my own event this morning up mount Arthur, I was keen to go and collect some unfounded caches, a call to JL rockstar and a plan was made to head to the Fingal valley. A trip around to some mines and not so popular places discovered a lot of untouched history. A few finds for the day with a touch of DNFs along the way.
I am currently writing detailed logs because of a challenge provided by Project-GC. "The Author" Badge challenges geocachers to average one hundred words or more in each log. Given that I have found so many GC caches, I have to write many logs with well over 100 words for a long period of time to get my average to the target. Apologies to anyone who finds the logs tedious but it is the only way that I can strive to attain this challenge. After over 5000 plus caches (which includes all cache finds up and including yesterday), the average log length is just over 70 words. I am now entertaining the possibility that I might be able to achieve my task before the end of next year. It's surprising how much is has increase since doing this.

Forgotten logWe were in Launceston and hired a car for a drive up here. It was an interesting walk from the carpark, looking at the ski runs and comparing them to the places I would normally ski. Views were admired, cache was found then we returned to the car as the wind was quite fresh!TFTC
Another fabulous day in beautiful Tasmania - lots of driving through forests; walking up and down dales and of course caching.
This was #6 of 9 finds.
Wow what can I say? This was a series of unfortunate incidents. Firstly Pa decided to tackle this cache from a completely different direction from those mentioned in the description. I absent mindedly left Monty, aka my GPSr, in the car. Sam (sung) decided not to cooperate refusing to 1. acknowledge there was a cache here 2. After revealing the coordinates refused to navigate. So then I entered the coords into Google maps, but still no good. Eventually I sat for a while and Sam (sung) decided to cooperate and lead us to GZ which meant the terrain rating had risen to at least 3.5! However Pa's frustration level had also risen considerably but this was soon sent plummeting when he very quickly had CIH.
After signing duties were completed I returned the cache to its hidey hole.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for us to enjoy razork.

Really wanted to get to this cache as it hasn't been found for so long but there was too much snow to be able to see the path.
It was a beautiful sunny day up there but the wind was blowing a gale. This made getting to GZ a bit dangerous and slow going. I had to get down behind the rocks so I could sign the log as it was blowing that hard. The view up there was worth it. The place was a ghost town. A couple of other people there but they left soon after. A little bit of snow and ice about. TNLNSL. TFTC.
Simply gorgeous up here today and we had the place to ourselves, well apart from some wildlife who refused to obey signs.
Many thanks razork from the Wacky one

There was simply no one about. No one.
I was the only car in the car park. The snow machines were dormant. It was like a ghost town out of the wild west.
They said keep to the paths. Well with about 396m to the cache, it was really a walk in the park. There was ice on the ground. The water melt was flowing. There was no yellow snow.
We walked our way to the top and admired the clear clear views and sucked in the oxygen and ice crystals that were being blown at us across the Scottish highlands....
Simply brilliant.
Thanks to razork and *clear skies* from TeamAstro. Cache the planet!

Travelling around Australia and spending a few months in Tasmania.
We missed visiting Ben Lomond when in this area last year so it was on the list before we board the ferry back to the North Island.
Beautiful weather for enjoying the drive in the countryside today.
Mr Felix made the climb here. The clouds were just starting to roll in with some smoke so the view from here wasnt as good as the lookout down lower. Took a bit longer on the walk as Mr Felix chatted to some locals as he headed off through the village. Interesting to see the damage to the roadway on the way up from all the rain last month.

Left the geo van at Griffin Reserve and went for a drive, found our selves in this beautiful area. Thanks to all the tassy cachers for hiding caches for us to find.
Within 250 metres of GZ, geowife gave up the hunt but geohub kept climbing. Cold but happy, found the prize, and exchanged travel bugs.
thanks razork for bringing us here.

#1802 - Found by rocky M on ascent after hot chocolate & toasted banana bread at the Top Pub of Tassie. Many ways up and many ways down, some more trickier than others. All part of the fun and challenges on our AroundOz bicycle tour. Many thanks to razork for establishing and maintaining this high cache. Left Ginger Ninja to get a high start on trying to get to year's Melbourne Cup.
The lack of clearly marked tracks or routes presented a bit of a problem, but the objective was obvious so all we had to do was to avoid trampling the vegetation. When the plateau and summit is covered with snow this would not have mattered so much but at this altitude the vegetation is close to its limit and needs gentle treatment, especially the cushion plants. The view from "Bens View" was good, but the view from 2nd Summit and the actual summit make you realise just how vast the plateau is. Another peak to add to my Peak-Baggers' listing and another smiley to add to my cache-log. TFTC
We figured out our own route to the 2nd summit from the end of the road, up among the silent ski tows, and in retrospect this approach was quite sensible. Having found the cache and admired the views we continued on to Legges Tor 1st summit. At this point we decided not to return the way we'd come and ended up with a longer-than-we-intended slightly-more-difficult walk down the NE side to the road. The views were great, and terrain interesting, but it made us a little later than we wanted. It is a terrific place to visit with fantastic scenery and I'm glad to have been to the top. Thanks for the cache, razork.
Queenslanders roaming about Oz. What a beautiful day for a walk to the summit with friends. This is simply stunning country & a fantastic road to get up here. Saw a lunch box lid down between the rocks at GZ & had to get the wife to squeeze in, but it was only a lid. Soon found cache & climbed back down for a great lunch in the restaurant. Thanks for a great cache.
A lovely day for a hike. Geokids and Geomum set out from the junction with Carr Villa and were rewarded with views, light winds and .. the cache. Thank you razork.
A very windy day with fresh powder everywhere. Climbed up here for this one. Thank goodness for Telstra at the top. My first Tasmanian cache is a memorable and beautiful one. Found with Timmytops2001. TFTC.
No snow so turned into mountain goats and used lots of forgotten muscles to find the cache. Got side tracked once we hit the top - too busy exploring and guessing where the cache might be. Co-ordinates spot on for us to find. Thank you, it was a great walk, great view and something to do when there was no snow.
Not enough snow for skiing so we went geocaching instead. Very blustery cold day. Have seen the view from here without knowing about this secret... no views today tho but great spot.
A cool overcast day, tiny amount of snow, but a great walk from Carr Villa to "2nd Summit" and return. [^]
Long weekend away to Tassie with Catherine, and getting here was the first thing we did. No snow, just 2-3 degrees, low cloud and windy. The resort was pretty much deserted today, though we got directions from a couple of people in the shop (don't walk on the ramps!).
We really enjoyed this cache, lots of alpine vegetation to look at, and the occasional gap in the clouds to views far below.
Signed the log at the top, then time to head back down the hill again to the warmth of the car.
TNLNSL, thanks for the cache razork.
best wishes,
Wal

We came to the lommond to do the earth cache but being so close on a fine day ( 4 deg C sunny with little wind) we could not resist a call to this one. We took the walking track that is about 500 below the ski village to go to the top. The track is certainly more than T 2 with water hazards and bolder hopping in place. We passed a number off wallabies at various locations at the first group of huts turned hard left to the next set of huts closer to the summit. There was some light snow and ice about and you can certainly tell the prevailing wind direction by its build up. The cache was an easy find and around had ice on it. The GPSr said 1573m elevation for our highest Tassie find. We could certainly see for miles and we are amazed at the size of the Plateau. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC. The twisting road up through Jacobs ladder is amazing as is the view of the columns.

We have been to the first summit several times but the views from second summit were spectacular. Thanks for this cache! Trackable fish enjoyed the long distance views of the sea.

Another cache another fantastic part of the Tasmanian wilderness.
We must have been lucky with the day we picked to come up here as we had the most perfect weather. We parked in the carpark below, ours being the only car there was plenty of space.
We walked around the village a little and not a soul to be seen. No Muggles = Easy caching. After taking a few photos we made our way over to where a chair lift/ ski tows operates from and followed the path it takes up to the top.
We had a lovely walk and actually had to take our coats off about halfway. Towards the top we had to scramble over a few rocks but nothing to difficult. Once at the top we rock hopped the last bit and arrived at the rock pile. A quick look around and the cache was soon found.
All was good with it so we added our names to the log and sat back and just enjoyed the wonderful scenery everywhere around us.
This would have to be my favourite caches for the day so it gets a favourite point from me, I only wish I could give it more than one.

I found this cache accidentally before I even knew about geocaching. We had lunch on top of it. when I was just about to leave I noticed a lunch box under all the rocks. This is how I got into geocaching. It is a lot of fun.
Wow, this is the most extreme cache we have found so far. The wind was absolutely howling and along with a bit of rain made it hard going. It was difficult to even stand up without the wind blowing you over. Co-ordinates were spot on though so we found the cache and sheltered behind a rock to fill in the log. TFTC.
Very windy here today. Walked up trying to follow one of the ski tows and took a few breaks on the way up.
Found the cache and was surprised to find it in great condition.
Had a look around and took a few photos.

Decided to go for a Sunday drive up the mountain to have a look around and enjoy a beer at the chalet. Thought we'd have a crack at finding this one while we were there. After a harder than expected hike to GZ I was rewarded with some wonderful panoramic views that this area has to offer. Never been up this way before, thanks for making me
The wind was strong this day, much more so than we remembered it from a previous visit... So papa star boulder scrambled on alone over the final frontier to reach the summit and find this cache. Took a very much needed key ring loop and left some mini wooden fairy pegs. TFTC

Cadet Camporee - the boys tracked their way up from Carr Villa and Billcamz and I moved the buses up the hill. What a great day! Howling winds made the phone call from the top a little tricky - but I managed to confirm the next cadeting activity. Thanks for a great adventure cache - loving it!
Had a great day out with a boys camp. Went for a walk to the summit and found it. Great views and a very special place. TFTC
Starting our geocaching year on top of the world. When we got up it was cloudy but luckily it burnt off but the wind was freezing. Walked up from Carr Villa to get this one and the nearby trig. Nice views.
Lots of wombats and wallabies
