Second visitor of the day here, that has to be a bit of a fluke. Especially considering how long I have looked at this puzzle. More years than i have fingers.I guess one learns a trick or two over time and i eventually was able to notice something that led to something and then momentum stopped for a while. Eventually I was able to generate a location for this cache and I'm pretty chuffed that I was able to get there on my own. Sure there are online tools available now that probably weren't around in 2010, but my head still hurt a bit.A quick walk this morning and at GZ I found the container quickly. All here is in great condition. The second signature in this log book today was added, and everything was tucked away for the next finder. All is good here. Thanks very much for the puzzle totalube. Cheers

Today I found three recently solved puzzles, all of which I needed a nudge, as I do with most puzzles. Knowing that it can be very busy on weekends, I came out today making an early start to avoid the worst of the heat.Being relatively close to home, this puzzle had intrigued me for a long time. I had worked out the first part but didnt know what to do with the information. With a nudge from a previous finder, I had what looked like good coordinates, though I wasnt 100% sure. I headed off to gz and was very happy to find the cache quickly and as it turned out, the coordinates were perfect - my phone showed 0m - that rarely happens. Logbook signed and replaced as found. The cache is in perfect condition. Tftc

Thanks for the cache. Solved moons ago but the difficulty 5 seemed appealing today. Beautiful spot.

After a fair bit of planning yesterday I had an objective of completing the 25 different DT challenge in the Tinchi Tamba wetlands.I marked out my route which was probably going to make me more of a Leyland brother than Id ever hoped to be but I thought I could squeeze it in.Unfortunately at the second of my planned caches for the day I pulled out to take off and collected a concrete block that wasnt in view. Bang, front skirt scratched and big puncture in the side wall of my tyre. There goes the time I needed to reach the goal.Any way I stayed the course and gave it a shot and came up short by about 5 caches. Dan that punctured tyre.Anyone this cache was found safe and well. A signature was applied to the log and returned safely to its hiding place.A big thanks to the cache owner for making this ache available to be found bet fellow cachers.Cheers

Decided to start the day with a quick little run up this track. I haven’t been here before so will have to come back to explore further another day. No one about this morning even with perfect walking weather. Cache was found in good condition. Thanks totalube

A bit like the Beatle's "With A Little Help From My Friends" we had a BIG help from a friend and acknowledge his help in solving ?. We still don't follow his logic. Thanks for the cache.

I have looked at this cache for many many years and just turned my head away because I had no idea how to start. I wanted to turn my head away again but I really needed this DT rating so that I could complete my first loop of my DT grid. I had looked at other caches with the same DT but also had no idea, but this cache had always intrigued me. I asked the CO for a starting hint which he kindly gave. That set me going. I later needed some help from a friend and eventually came up with some coords. Today I was out caching with the Tough Mothers (Bennyboppers and Lisylou). On our way home from Samford, Lisylou and Bennyboppers joined me in finding the cache. TFTC! I am glad I can finally put a smiley on this intriguing cache Smile

Although some people around here day that it's winter, it was actually quite warm today - at least as far as I was concerned. Managed to go by this one on my brief trip up this end of the country. Very nice location at GZ. Thanks for the fun!

Muggle65 needed this DT for his grid. I had a look at the puzzle and was pretending to think but in reality WT_?? was all that l had. Eventually M65 sorted it and decided to keep it for his 500th find. Guess this is the time l am supposed to say Thanks for such a fun puzzle! But l won't cos it would be total BS. Great cache location though

Hi y’all! This cache is officially my #500th find & having had quite a battle deciphering it & the solving it with a large number of hints & assistance by my fellow cachers. I say thanks for your assistance& hope to never do something like this again . But today was a celebration 15 months in as an official NON-MUGGLE I am throughly enjoying the community & challenges I’m undertaking geocaching.

One could ask (?) if the answer is difficult, why is the question so easy?
I first noticed the puzzle back late in 2010 when there weren't too many caches around for an eager cache chaser, and then when I got around to looking again, half (or more) of the information was missing. Well, I recently expressed greater interest in puzzle caches instead of rushing further afield to find trad caches. Had another look and wondered what if! Sure, found the missing bits and sat down with about a ream of butcher's paper and two dozen pencils and rubbers to make sense of the thing.
Sadly when I did make sense of it, it still didn't make sense, so off to the shops for another ream of butchers paper! finally something clicked and the final coordinates were there in big letters (numbers actually).
The usual log for this one goes something like "I solved this a long time ago, but only just got around to coming over here to log it." Well, I solved this one quite some time ago (About 12 hours) and just couldn't wait to come to one of my favorite walking tracks to fetch it. TFTC, Totalube ?.

We had looked at this puzzle in the past, and put it away as we had not found a way in, despite finding some relevant information at the time. Last night we decided to tackle it once again, and with a slightly different approach and trying something else, we soon could see exactly what was needed to find a way to the end. It was late, so we finished the puzzle off over breakfast, And came for a quiet walk out in the bush today. Underneath us the ground was a little damp due to the recent rains and I’m sure the trees are very happy about that.
We signed the log and headed back to the car.
Thanks “?” totalube!

A late night call to OBC and a plan was set to do some target caching on an assortment of caches in Toowoomba. An early morning start on a fresh, wet morning saw us leaving and heading west then a backseat surprise from mini obc was my wake up, lol. The targets were some oldies, some letterboxes, some for DT matrix, a FTF, a couple of puzzles and the odd trad as we stepped over it. It is always a fun day and an adventure when we get together and today was no different. We did have a little hiccup when we thought we were going to be stranded in Toowoomba and our caching day brought to a sudden stop. But a quick call to RACQ and a quick fix and we were soon on our way again. The list got shortened but then it got added to in other ways. A passing storm and wind gusts did see us having to abandon a few targets but we did make up for it on the way home. An awesome day with lots of laughs and some brave adventures.

While we were traveling home it was discussed as to a few we had both solved and if we had time to collect. This one was solved by OBC so a quick stop and park before a short walk around the tracks again in the mud to grab this one. Thanks to OBC for the solve and to the CO for the puzzle.

All good with this cache and with log signed and cache returned we had time for one more.

Chamad and I decided to head to Toowoomba from Brisbane, and pick up an assortment of caches along the way. Some caches were for the date published challenge, some for the 360 degree challenge, some for the DT matrix, some because they were oldies, and some because they are already fulfilled challenges. And some because, well, you never walk over a cache.

Somewhere in the middle of Toowoomba, my car broke down, and our plans were thrown into chaos. RACQ to the rescue, and we were back to caching, albeit an hour behind schedule. Our luck continued into the afternoon as a storm rolled over, the temperature dropped, drizzle gave way to heavy rain and wind, and our commitment to the greater cause was traded in for some warm food and the safety of the car.

Still, a fantastic day with great company, and I'd do it again in a heartbeat. This was a quick but fantastic grab on the way home. Cache and log are in great condition. Solving this puzzle was thankfully relatively straightforward for me - which is great because this particular CO usually writes puzzles that leave me... puzzled :p for weeks on end.

On a day trip up from the Gold Coast with E_Smiley and Tenkae on a very cold autumn day. After a fun morning of venturing into a tunnel and a bit of bushbashing this was a breeze to find. Cache is in good condition and holding up well having been placed for ten years.

Thanks for the cache ?. Enjoyed the hunt. Quick easy find and I need 'others'.

I had a lot of fun solving this one many years ago. I decided it was time to come and make the find, and was in the vicinity collecting another this afternoon.

After a short but lovely walk with geopup, we made our way to GZ and quickly spotted the cache in it's hidey hole.

Log signed, all returned as found. A leisurely walk back to the geomobile just as some rain started.

Thanks for a fun cache totalube.

Since Mrs Woodyrothwell started wearing her fitness tracker, I’ve noticed that the results are more important than any cache. I can be looking around for a hide while she is looking at her phone to see what effort she has put in. Little did she know that I only had a few drive-by caches planned for the rest of the day. This was going to play havoc with her stats.

These days I leave it up to my wife to be the official phlog (photo log) keeper of a caching day. Normally I can trust her to take some special photos while I’m stamping the log. Today it was all about photos of her fitness tracker and screen shots of her fitness app.

After finding the cache it came time to take our photo. She lifted up her shirt and said, “Get a photo of this”. You might think some jubblies were hanging out in the bush but it was just her fitness tracker (much to my disappointment). I know that one day I will get to see some cuddle bags on the scrub. tftc

Today mrs slow puncture and I had a plan to find this cache and to finally fill in my d/t grid. On our travels we were so close to this cache we just had to find it and after a nice walk we soon spotted this cache. Thanks for the fun puzzle and for placing this cache here for us to enjoy

Found on a warm spring morning. The puzzle reminded me of some in the UFO series SW of Canberra. I felt like I was in familiar territory as I worked through it. At GZ today it took me a few minutes to locate the hiding spot.

We both have our roles in our team:

Me: Fitting into tight spots
Mr 4ando: Climbing trees
Me: Signing the logs and writing the logs
Mr 4ando: Navigating
Me: Getting the short end of the stick at GZ locations
Mr 4ando: Solving puzzles

The point, Mr 4ando solved this puzzle and informed me we were passing it, do I want to get it, well is the Pope Catholic? Having no idea how he solved it and he’s learnt to not explain it to me we headed off for the search. Going by the carpark this is another area popular with the mountain bikers.

Up we went and in no time we had discovered the pot of gold. Our name was added before we walked back out to the car.

This puzzle has been in my solved pile for ages. I clearly never paid too much attention to where the final was, as I have driven past this on multiple occasions recently. Needed a D5 on a Wednesday for a challenge, so detoured on my way home from work to grab this. Grabbed the cache and continued for a longer walk to get rid of the bd taste left after my first day back at work! TFTC.

?????? – more like #@&%$! This confounded me for some time, but I wasn't helped by the fact that, as a relatively new cacher, I was completely unaware of the initial technique required to get the ball rolling. After a discussion with a CO about another puzzle nearby that also uses the technique, I twigged to what I needed to do here.

That didn't mean I was out of the woods. Next came the pencil and paper stage – slow at first, until I worked out a way to do it more quickly. Eventually had my ducks in a row, then it was on to the next step, which didn't prove too much of a bother. Tweaked a few things here and ironed out a few things there, and out came a final set of numbers.

Of course, then I went and ballsed everything up by accidentally entering one crucial wrong digit of the coordinates into my phone before driving to what I thought was GZ for the hunt. I was about 400 metres out – across the road, close to a water tank, public toilet and picnic area. Spent 20 fruitless minutes digging around for a cache, then gave up.

Back home, I realised the error of my ways. Made the correction and returned today to climb the hill and put this one to bed. Thanks for a great puzzle and cache, totalube.

I had looked at this puzzle many times, but it wasn't until I discovered the awesome geocaching puzzle book and I had solved lots of puzzles that I realised what I needed to do to find the elusive coordinates. We had to drive past this one today on our way to visit friends, so I convinced Geohubby to make a stop. I was pretty excited about collecting this cache, it fills a hole in my D/T grid - only 6 to go and I will finally complete my first loop. I think it will be awhile before I complete that challenge. TFTC totalube, another great puzzle Smile

My plan for today was to grab as many caches with high favourite points as possible, and I had opted to start my day over this side of town. Thankfully I had solved this one a while back, but today begged the question "How did I solve this?????" Pulling up the car in the conveniently located spot I made the short jaunt to GZ, where upon I made a quick find. Why did it take me so long to get over here to get this cache??? Maybe we will never know Wink
Thanks for the cache totalube.

As I was heading over this way for the Kenmore event and I have a very long list of solved but not found puzzles, despite not really having done much puzzling for the past few months, I decided to try to whittle that list down somewhat.

This one I solved a very long time ago and I didn't have too much trouble with it. After a short walk from my car, I soon had the cache in hand. Thanks

Friday. Mrs SP was out today to find some nemesis caches and also pick up a couple of randoms.

Another cache that we’d solved some time ago but which has been sitting in the solved pile just waiting for the right day to go and collect. Today was that day (Mr SP having headed off to golf and leaving Mrs Slow Puncture to do some caching). A check of google earth and yep, this was definitely on the list to collect. It was a lovely walk to collect this one as it was much cooler than the past few super hot days. It was raining to boot, so no worries of finding any muggles here. Cache found in good order – signed and replaced. Definitely an enjoyable cache to grab.

This was the 3rd of 8 caches found on today's trip.

Thanks ***totalube***, for showing us this place. Smile

BlackPearl26 and I are visiting Brisbane for the Confraternity Carnival and looking to pick up some high difficulty, highly favoured or rarer cache types during our down time. This was a sneaky puzzle but after trying a few different things a set of coordinates were obtained. The puzzle had been solved for a little while now but today I was in the area visiting relatives so decided that some caches should be turned into smileys.

Once at GZ, the cache was found shortly thereafter.

All is good with this cache.

We had solved this awhile ago after a slow start and then realised what had to be done. Passing the area this morning we detoured over and headed up the trail. Not being use to the heat and the humidity it felt harder and longer than it was. A quick find was made at GZ and we were soon signing the log. TFTC.

Out and about for some bush bashing, targeting the Gap Creek Reserve area to cash in on some nearby solved puzzles that have been sitting there just waiting to be collected. First time to this spot and what a popular spot Sunday at 6:30am. All the picnic area car parks were taken so had to park across the road.

With 2 more puzzles needed to reach 300 found, had two in this area that I'd been storing for an occasion such as this. When I looked at what puzzles were around the area a few months ago, the D5 was noted and the inner self suggested putting it aside and save some time but the brain was curious to just have peep at what the ? meant!! My usual battery of tests came up with something almost immediately that looked promising. With a tweak there were some promising coordinates that were spot on. Not very often that I latch onto the solution so quickly.

With a small mishap down the hill that took some bark off, limped up the hill to find the cache in the first spot checked. Found in good condition. Thanks for an interesting puzzle totalube.

I Had looked at this puzzle many time and could not figure out how to solve it. Then, one day, I was having another look at it and decided to try something. Everything I tried that day worked! (Doesnt happen often, I can assure you! ) It went into the solved pile to be found at a later date. I decided that today was the day, hoping that there would not be too many hills to climb in the heat. Luckily, there wasnt and I soon found myself at GZ. The cache was quickly located and the log signed. TFTC

We were in the area today with a few hours to spare so we decided to find a few caches while we had the chance. We had received from the cache owner quite a nudge in the right direction as to how this great puzzle could be solved, but we have only just now had the chance to look for the cache. It was a great morning for a walk along the trail and once we arrived at ground zero we were able to quickly locate the cache. With our name added to the log book, we continued our walk along the path.

Thank you totalube for showing us the area, and for placing and maintaining this cache for us and others to enjoy.

I had solved this puzzle a while ago and today DylB77 and I were at a non-geocaching event and decided to go and get this cache afterwards. We did the earth cache beforehand and the GPS led us a long way around to this cache. Parking below we were mixing with a heap of mountain bikers who were about to start a ride and we walked up the track following the GPS and a sign pointing that way.

Should have gone the other way....had to bush bash 140 meters to the cache, and of course had a nice path to walk down back to the car. Yes, this happens often with us. Cache was found easily and log signed. TFTC

Out and about with Zacgyver today when it was decided we should drop by and pick this up having solved it previously. In typical style for us, we took the most difficult route to get there but we got there in the end. Cache easily found, log signed, enjoyed the non bush bashing walk back to the car.

I knew that I needed either a D5 or a T5 to get one of the souvenirs for the road trip and also I knew it was highly unlikely I would be able to get a T5, so I sucked it up and had a look at the D5 puzzles around town. After browsing around I settled on a couple I thought I would have half a hope of solving and started on them, this being one of them. I wondered who this was by and found it was one of my good friends so I knew that I HAD to solve it ... but how?

I sent a quick message to him but before he even replied I had already figured out the next step that I had to take, his reply just confirmed it for me (of course he didn't directly tell me though, more a cryptic way), I had a look and I found what I thought would be what I was looking for and grabbed it. Now what? I did the logical thing with it but wasn't too sure where it was heading. I sent the CO another message and he replied with another cryptic message but again it seemed to point that I was going about it the right way to keep going.

Okay, that part down, where to next? I think I know ... Yep, this looks about right .... wait ... does it? I was stuck again! I thought I was so close though! Another message to the CO and ... GOT IT, now to work with it to get a final answer. After a few attempts with a few things out of place I had it. Smile

That's it? My first D5! I've done it! ... It doesn't seem that hard now that I've solved it ... Razz Now to be able to get out to GZ. I message the CO one last time to let him that I had solved it and to see if he was free to come with me to get it. He said that he would let me know.

Turns out the CO is a very busy man! As I had limited time to go out and get it before I went away I asked along another good friend Tdimdad to come with me and make it into a bit of a trip. He agreed as he still didn't know what he would do for his D5/T5 souvenir, not sure if he'll solve it after though! He should! I think it's a great puzzle!

We set out the next day with this one targeted as our first for the morning. As we arrived we realised that where we were going to park was a very popular place! It was jammed packed and we had to go elsewhere to park. Good thing it didn't take too long to find one and we were able to get on our way.

After heading into an entrance and going in a little we realised we had gone the wrong way and headed back to find the correct way. Once we were on the right track we quickly got to GZ, well a little past it, but not that far past at all.

As we walked up to it Tdimdad guessed one place and searched there, where as I wanted to give the CO a bit more credit and thought it would be elsewhere, so I looked somewhere else. I guess I win this round! Razz

I grabbed it out and signed it off.

Thankyou for this! Definitely a favourite point from me Smile

On a Sunday morning outing with Sezzz test driving her shiny, new hiking shoes. This neck of woods proved to be an excellent test track for them in terms of comfort and grip.

On Friday evening Sezzz hinted that she'd solved a D5 puzzle. I was puzzled by that unforeseen revelation but a few minutes later had the GC code. A cursory look but no reaction on my side. Yesterday we just casually realised we might have an opportunity to do a little trip today and Sezzz was keen on getting this way. Well, we did an exchange: I offer a ride if she lets me tag along for this one. Surprised

Last night I had a look at what I could get out of this puzzle and managed to find whole lot more question marks than what's in the cache description. Plunked them into Excel and they are there waiting for the mental massage of trying to create logic to a seemingly random set of characters. [^]

Sunday 7:30 am the place was choco-blocks, the parking area full and roadside overflowing parked cars, ours included shortly after. Then to the business: finding the right trail head, up the undulating terrain and towards the assumed final. We nearly overshot - time and distance flies when you're having fun - but the obvious GZ was visible. On approach we split our effort and Sezzz was on the money.

Log signed. She kindly signed me, too, through partially undeserved until I get the question marks ordered right. The find rate seemed to be quite steady for long and then suddenly multiplied within the recent weeks. Wonder how come... Big Grin
All good here. TFTC, Totalube!

I looked at this a long time ago and actually made the first leap easily. But then with new baby having arrived I let this be as my brain was now fried from sleep deprivation and nappy changes. Last weekend I had planned to climb a glass house mountain to achieve a t5 souvenir. Well a push bike accident on the Friday put end to that. So I set about finding a d5 instead. Ahh I remember this now.
So I had all sorts of excel spreadsheets open at work last week and made steady progress until I found a word and then no more. Hmmm I tried a large number of options until finally I tried that. Ahhh yep great.
This brings me to early this morning. I had permission to run out early while my wife and baby slept. I parked 100m away and headed down in the dark. Hmm this isn't t2?? Anyway I looked and looked and no luck. Bugger I left my workings at home. Not thinking!!! I texted my wife to see if she was awake. She is now. Oops. So is baby and only one isn't happy. She kindly found my scribbles and took a photo. Ahhh I only did that thing to one. New coords look much better. Easy find and home to try and make amends. Tftc

? Seeing as this was discussed last night at the event, i thought i really should just do it. As said, i had the first step ready for a while but was just being lazy. Eh, i felt like a walk in this area so i really should just put my money where my mouth is and do the rest of it.

Of course as usual i increased the terrain level for myself, but it made for a lovely walk. Not sure about the humidity today though.

Thanks for the puzzle and the cache (which is in good condition). I will have to keep an eye out for some more of your puzzles for the next time i'm in town. Thanks totalube. Smile ?

Well this cache has caused quite the headache in recent times [:o]

We had been eying it off for quite some time and after a push in the right direction, some of it was solved.

Not knowing where to go with it now, we teamed up with Konie, and after sharing some information, the numbers we needed fell into place Smile

In the area today, we parked nearby and enjoyed a short walk to GZ.

Cache was found quickly and all is in good order.

Thanks for the hunt totalube Big Grin

Out and about in the Brisbane area today and stopped off to grab a few caches. When I first saw this one I wondered where it would all lead but after plodding away the ?? gave way to something that with a bit of manipulation ended up giving
me a nice set of numbers.

With Parko's nearly there themselves it was only a word or two and they had it out too. So today we headed to GZ where the cache was soon in hand.

cache find #3429 With this puzzle solved some time ago and filed away for another day, today was the day to venture in the area to locate some caches. With the cold blistery wind, Mr & Mrs GT54 and geofriend Cantcacheus2014 we made our way to GZ, where we located the cache. We quickly signed the log and replaced as found. TFTC.

After reading the description some time ago (if you can call one single character a description) I dismissed this one into the too hard basket and left it at that. Being from the Northside, getting back to it was never much of a priority but I always wondered what could be the solution to such a simple but complex puzzle. Fast forward to today, and the chance to catch up with 5Meerkats at a nearby christening of our niece and he revealed that he had solved the puzzle. I was happy enough just to know the workings but when the offer of ducking out to grab coffees was floated, we decided to turn it into a cache find!! Parked up at the right spot, and after a nice walk we closed in on Gz. The phone suggested we wander over *that * way, but my cacher's instinct said *this* way.... I honed in an object that looked promising, and Bingo! Log signed, we moved on to grab those promised coffees. Afraid the TB is long gone here. Thanks for a unique puzzle totalube, I will solve it retrospectively now I know how!

This week was a big week for puzzle solving. It was the lull after Christmas/NY period and despite being back at work, my workload had not yet increased to last years dizzying levels. So, there was some down-time in the evenings to ponder some of the puzzles around the place that I have been procrastinating about.

But this "?" has, without a doubt, been the longest procrastination in my short caching career. I saw this puzzle very early on in caching and dismissed it as impossible. But, over time new tricks have been added to the toolkit, plus I have overheard snippets of information. The most significant of which I heard probably 18 months ago. 'If' visited our puzzle cache Binary and we got talking about local puzzles. He said something about this one that stuck in my mind ever since. It did not mean much at the time, but this week it all fell into place!

I had every intention of picking up this find today, but a family christening provided the opportunity to share the grab with Orange Crew. What a treat! We must have looked like Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee on the way to GZ. You see, we both wore the same shirt (gifts from our common sister-in-law) and the same colour shorts. Only by our shoes could people tell us apart!

The walk was thankfully short as family were demanding hot coffee's upon our return. We returned victorious to the gathering, though our absence was noted.

Solved this puzzle with the help of Lat&Long Junkie........ Oh! okay, the truth is I'm hopeless at puzzles and Junkie solved it and gave me the coordinates [B)] ...... but it was me that found the cache.

Great puzzle though (when it was explained to me). TFTC totalube.

It was a few months ago that this puzzle was brought to my attention by Ms Maddy. With a few emails back and forward I gave my thoughts, and soon some helpful information come back, and soon coords were put together.

Unfortunately I did not have the opportunity to visit at that time back in July, however thankfully I kept the information handy. Well no actually it was buried somewhere in my email, and not placed into a note or something useful that was quickly accessible.

So I pulled over and did a little digging on my computer and soon found the information that was needed. Dang guess it is going to mean back tracking a bit, should have looked at this a little earlier.

I parked in with all the MTB riders and started off for a walk, hoping to time things right without any passing by. As I arrived at GZ, there was a quick check for riders, and nothing, so I was very pleased to be able to find the find relatively quickly. I got the log signed and everything back in place.

This is a bit like the Flintstones. Instead of everything being described with a rock, we can use a question mark.

Well I needed a certain ? to tick a certain ? This ? had stood out at me for a while and it was time to ?something about it. Looking at the ? I could see what mmmmmaybe required. A little bit of ? and then a bit of ? we had a bit of a ? or ?

I just happened to be in the ? today finding some other ? for 'the ?' and thought I better see this one off. After parking at ? I soon started the long hard ? to ?. After the long ? and gallons of ? I soon found myself at ? and time to find ? Was relieved to ? at ? instead of the ? like I ?

Thanks ? (totalube) for the ?

Found it!!!
After a long walk on Monday, I collected another 3 cache's on the way, I ended up at what I thought was the correct spot. But it wasn't so it was no surprise that I didn't find it. I could see that others had been here too.Surprised All my notes were in the iPad, not with me. Aa aargh! Back to the car. Nope, not there. Back home, licking wounds and ego. Red Face it also decided to tip it down on my way back up the hill. Thanks! Twisted
Then on to today. Check, double check. Yes, it had to be there! So with 40 mins till I picked up my little fella off I raced. Got to GZ, noooo! No pen. Where is my brain?Red Face
I needn't have feared. Cache was where it should have been and a writing implement was inside. Big Grin I was so relieved that this was over.
It's been fun really, I put my hands up, I had 2 nudges, but I did all the work'Cool

Solving the puzzle proved simpler than finding the physical cache. On first passing the GPS was of little assistance and was sending me all over the place (including to the cache but not consistently). We headed along the track to find a nearby traditional cache and then came back along the track for a second go. This time the GPS was more steady and took me right to the spot I needed. TFTC

I have ridden past this cache so many time I have lost count. Mind you most of the times I didn't actually know it was there. However for several months this cache has been on the solved list and every time I have been past we have been on a mission to ride and hence I have been unable to stop.

Today I was out to do a few km on the bike so this became one of the key "questionable" destinations for the morning. Luckily no-one came by while I searched for the cache and I was soon back on my way doing other questionable things http://connect.garmin.com/course/7471254

I had solved this cache a couple of weeks ago. I seemed to get lucky solving this one as every step along the way the first thing I tried paid dividends. However karma caught up with me as the first time I was in the local area finding some other caches it was late in the day and I ran out of time on to make my attempt to find it. Returned to the area today to grab some other caches I missed. Found a good parking spot and an energetic walk later I was at GZ where the cache sat quite unhidden. Signed the log and replaced with some camo. Thanks for a great puzzle. Left the TB inside as we have crossed paths before.

I had trouble with this puzzle for a long time. I had all sorts of coordinates running around in my head.
Another cacher gave me a push in the right directions and I had some coordinates to use. Thanks for the help.
In the area today and I parked as close as possible as days are much shorter now and I don't like getting caught in the bush at night alone.
Soon at GZ and the search was on and after a little while, I spied what I was looking for.
Dropped in TB to continue its journey.

With another of these [?] sitting in our solved folder (thanks Barb) it was out to the area to grab this one. Found a spot to park and set off on foot. Took a wrong turn, so took a little longer than it should have to get to GZ.

Arriving at GZ and started our search, gradually widening the search area. Suddenly Barb says, "There it is". How did I miss that, worst case of cache blindness [|)]

Log signed, cache replaced and took the quicker way out.

I had solved this puzzle myself! I had found the necessary information and just stared at it for a long time. A couple of yes/no questions to a fellow cacher and whooo hooo! A short time later, I got the necessary information, mapped the co-ords with google. Off I went today for a quick walk to the GZ. Nice. So pleased with myself! TFTC

Wow! Who'd have thought that a single punctuation mark could hold so much information and cause so much consternation. I also didn't expect this to be my 500th geocache find but things like that seem to be happening today!?

This puzzle is a bit like trying to find your pyjamas after a rushed morning and busy day - you can see the lump there in the bed but you just can't seem to find which layers of sheets, blankets, pillows and quilts they are between. You stick your hand in and pull out a sock (or something worse!) and try again and accidentally pull the sheet out of the bottom, and by the time you're finished searching you have to make the whole bed again from scratch. ? Ok, well maybe not ?

Anyway, I enjoyed the challenge of this clever cache and enjoyed a nice walk in the bush for a memorable milestone. Thanks totalube

I really have to 'question' this type of puzzle! A puzzle wrapped up in a riddle wrapped up in an enigma (or a question mark anyway!)

I did chance upon this puzzle before it changed to its current format, and though it did not make a huge difference in the end, it was difficult either way. I am happy to say that I solved this one by simply nutting it out. As all good puzzles do, the 'aha' moment was a sweet moment. Though I left it a few months between originally trying to solve this, and finally getting back to it to offer a solution, it was a lot of learning from other puzzles that led me to a solution. many steps I would not have known about or tried without other puzzles.
In the end, it is amazing what can be learnt with only a single question mark as our starting point.

I came by today to finally pick this one up. being right on dusk meant no muggles around, so parking was easy, and the walk to GZ uninterrupted. A quick search yielded the cache in very good and dry condition.

Thanks for a nice puzzle. Very enjoyable, no 'question' about it.

Around 2 years ago, early in our geocaching career, we came across a number of mystery caches in the general vicinity of Mt Cootha. We printed the puzzles and at various times had unsuccessful attempts at solving them. As our experience grew, and through working with others at our local geo-puzzle group, we began to understand more and to see ways that some of the puzzles may be solved. Eventually they all found there way into the "local, solved but still to do" folder. Last week we were looking for ways to celebrate our 7000 cache and decided that the "to do" file needed reducing. We decided that this set of caches, which had made us work so hard and belonged to cachers whose work we had come to admire, were an appropriate set to achieve the milestone.

Initially it had us asking more questions than we could find any answers for. As our knowledge grew it led to more ways to solve puzzles. Lady membsec believed she had the right idea and in discussion with another cacher they came to the conclusion this was the way. Lady membsec then completed the required task and turned a question into an answer with numbers to match.

Today we went into a very familiar orienteering area and moved quickly to the cache site (male membsec could have grabbed it many times as he ran past at an O event).

TFTC and a favourite from us.

Recently I have started a new challenge to myself and so started the hunt for all the caches that I may need to accomplish this task. This one was high on my list. The only problem being...... I'm not that puzzle savvy Red Face But once I set myself a challenge not much will stop me! So with the challenge set I sent out a SOS message to a helpful friend. They thankfully were happy to help and give me a few hints, but nothing too over the top that didn't get my own grey matter working over time! Along the puzzle solving path I was talking to another cacher that had also not solved this one. With a bit of team work and bouncing thoughts and ideas off each other, we were soon on the path to enlightenment Smile DAH DAH!!!! Finally we were looking at a rather nice set of coords Big Grin Insert happy cacher dance!

So with coords filed, it was only a matter of time until I would have a free moment to come and leave my signature. Today was the day. My muggle mum, has of late, enjoyed coming for a drive to wherever my next needed cache is. So with her as wingman and Mini munchkin in the passenger seat we set off to find a cache. We arrived at the car park with MM fast asleep, no family group trek to the cache today. So while mum watched MM in the shade, I took a leisurely stroll to GZ. As I came closer to GZ I noticed a likely spot for a cache hide, so without following where my phone was leading me I headed for where I thought I would find the cache. And I did Smile After signing the log I replaced the cache as found.

Thanks for the puzzle and cache totalube Big Grin

Well this one will go down in the annals of crazy geocaching adventures.... Razz. I was thinking that I need to start solving some puzzles again when I stumbled across this one... It intrigued me with its simplicity, and perhaps arrogance. Looking me in the face like that with no suggestion of what to do whatsoever Razz.

Then I had a thought, what if I.... Excellent! A lead! Big Grin. It was head down, bum up from there! Everything I tried seemed to work for me from here. Which is quite unusual for puzzles for me.... I stumbled on the final hurdle, but a recheck of what I should be doing, a slight tweak to my approach and voila! A set of final coordinates Big Grin. I was so impressed with myself that I just had to go out straight away and get my name in the log. Mrs PJATPAC wanted to head out for a drive anyway so it was a matter of dogs & geokids in he car & we were off.

Near GZ there was a MTB event on today, so parks were at a premium. We finally found one and all headed off. The weather was starting to turn. I checked the radar before we left & it all looked ok.... Thunder all around I wondered if we should get back to the car. Only 100 something metres... We kept on. Soon I realised we were headed in the wrong direction Surprised.

By then what the thunder had to offer was waning so the immediate threat was over. We wandered back down the hill we had just clambered up, walked past the car & up a new hill!

Then it' started to rain..... 40 some metres to GZ.... We jogged.... A quick search and I couldn't find it! Argh! I hope I got the coordinated correct... Whenever there's pressure for a quick find I often don't look properly.... I took a deep breath & there it was! Yeeha! A quick PJATPAC in the log and we ran back to the car in the rain. I couldn't help but smile at the thought of yet another crazy geocaching adventure. Think I'll sit the weather out next time of there's thunder around though. It never was close enough to worry us, but was still a little nerve racking with the family in tow.

Anyway, cheers totalube. It ended up being much more than I bargained for Big Grin

Six months ago I first looked at this cache. Being over 200km from home it never a pressing matter but nonetheless it kept gnawing.
Wasn't real sure how to tackle this when I started and thats why it kept getting pushed to one side.

Now with an enforced layoff fron work with a broken wrist I was able to sit down and finally nut this out. Certainly a great sense of achievement felt when it all fell into place.
Today we left Lismore and headed towards Brisbane to attend a medical appointment the following day. Armed with the solved coordinates we arrived near gz and made the short walk to the cache. I looked in all the likely spots before Mrs Griffo made the find.
A really enjoyable challenge and another box ticked in the d/t challenge.

Thanks

When I initially looked at this puzzle I was no the right track but couldn't get anything out. A later look and a ah ha moment resulted in a good set of coords quicker than you could say '?'.

Today's find was a bit like solving the puzzle: I was on the right track but didn't see the cache. After expanding the search area and still finding nothing I came back to the beginning and had another ah ha moment. The cache was within cooee of where I'd first looked.

Thanks for an interesting puzzle and the cache If.

A log long long time ago I was pointed at this cache by another cacher in the hopes I could assist with the solving part. And why would I, or they for that matter, be overly interested in this one all the other side of the city[?] "It ticks a box" apparently. And so I was introduced to the D/T matrix and it's 81 flavours of frustration. I, it transpired, was in no danger of shaking that tree any time soon, but I ventured into looking at this one anyways since I'd recently trundled through a stack in my part of the world. Very quickly I had an approach ... which became a rather solid brick wall. It took a bit, but I had seen something along these lines which in due course helped me to break down that wall. And into my solved database it went.

Where it has remained until today. Odd really, as I do like to nab the solved ones. Well, here I am nearly a year later and my D/T grid is looking rather colourful now. In fact only a few more boxes to 'tick'. And this one was still one of them. Coaxed Mrs Prime` into a scenic drive in the country and off I trundled. 45 minutes of driving (each way) for a rather shortish amble along the pathway to GZ. And a rather nice little find. A smilie, and a box ticked - gotta be happy with that. Life is good.

Thanks for placing this cache [?]. Found in good condition.

Day 11 of the 31 souvenir days of August 2013. I have been trying to collect solved puzzles every day through August to get my solved puzzle pile back to a manageable level. This and nearby Schrodinger were the targets for the afternoon.

I have only started looking seriously at puzzles in the western suburbs recently. This is a rare one of the CO's that I solved reasonably quickly. Other simpler ones have given me a lot more grief - and particularly nearby Mr Scrodinger!

After collecting a few traditionals on the drive west, I finally entered the bush. A very pleasant stroll soon found me at GZ where a container was quickly found. And the find nicely fills a vacant spot on my D/T grid. A nice puzzle - deserving of a favourite point. Thanks for the cache, ?

It's about time I got off my behind and went out to find this cache. I've had the coordinates sitting there for two whole years, and it's even a d/t combination that I need! So today, needing a souvenir for the August streak, I grabbed The Marble and off we went. In all my years of caching, I don't believe I've ever driven along this road before, so it was great to discover this approach to the area, and the great walks throughout. It was very peaceful despite the presence of plenty of cars at the entrance indicating the bush was actually full of people. And full despite the sign at the gate warning of burnoff season... We managed to safely get to the cache and sign the log without any fire, and I was really happy to convert this into a smiley face at last. TFTC, ?. =^.^=

We were up from Sydney for a brief bit of winter warmth and chased a few ?s that I'd solved. We parked and switched on the GPS, only to find no ?. It seems that Garmin economised on the character set. Fortunately the phone got me to the cache page where I'd left some notes.
We walked to GZ and I started checking all the places I'd become accustomed to this week. Success disappointingly eluded me. After watching my wanderings, Mrs B, unburdened by any such conditioning, said "You have seen this, haven't you". Ah well, all's well that ends.
Thanks for the different puzzle and the nice little side trip on our break. I do like the new description too; so much cleaner.

I was planning on visiting the area so I had a look at this one a few weeks ago. With a few hints I was soon looking in the right spot and the final co-ords were programmed into my phone.

Thanks for the cache totalube. Cheers!! I grabbed the fancy geocoin and have found it a new home in another mystery cache.

Solved this one at work with Diefenbachii, then made a night raid with the geokids. It was too well camoed to be spotted at night so returned this avo to find my GPS lying to me.. Finally found it along with some snake eggs nearby.. Surprised

A nice puzzle that I solved before heading to Brisbane. It's tempting to say that the puzzle is question-able, but that's not true at all - the puzzle is perfectly sound! I would like to say that I am very proud of myself for solving this one all on my own with absolutely no help from anybody at all, not even the slightest nudge. But then I'd be telling fibs ;-DDDD. I had managed to figure out a fair bit of it all by my self, but I still needed more info. Thanks to T-tech and IolantheK for the missing links to get me some co-ords. Oh, and the help actually finding the cache when I was literally standing right on top of it Very HappyDDD

I was heading over to my old haunts to catch up with some friends for lunch and stopped to grab this one. Smile Sounds easy doesn't it. Big Grin That was the easy bit...the walk. Otherwise this cache is evil. TwistedTwistedTwistedTwistedTwisted

I have been looking at this cache on and off for quite some time but recently the CO confirmed something I had heard somewhere. A recent finder was able to solve this evil puzzle with that bit of knowledge before giving me a small nudge in the right direction. Big Grin

OK...so now I have a crap load of random information Surprised Eventually I sorted out that little problem with another idea which seemed to have me heading in the right direction before that went screwy as well. Sad Did I mention this puzzle is evil. TwistedTwisted And with another small nudge I was able to come up with useful information which might actually help me. Big Grin

So now I can get the plasterer in fix the hole in wall where I have been banging my head in frustration with this evil puzzle. TwistedTwisted

Out and about with T-Tech picking up my cache-for-today Smile

T-T spent a lot of time this week nutting through this very tricky puzzle. The many layers caused him some grief, but tenacity won the day. He had got 2 rather cryptic hints along the way, which helped with steps 1, 2 and 3, and then a call to the CO for confirmation gave him the impetus to carry on and get it done. In the end the co-ords were revealed and we set the puzzle aside to find this afternoon. He was a happy chappy!

Today we parked at a very convenient spot and headed bush to take the walk to the cache. We soon reached GZ and it was an easy find. TFTC, totalube. It kept T-Tech amused for quite a while [^]

Out collecting a cache or two (0r three) with IolantheK.

Now this cache is one on totalube's diabolical, multi-layered puzzle caches. To solve it I got a hint from Capt Terror, a rumor from a particular "puzzle solving group" and a "yes your going in the right direction" from Totalube himself, to finally came up with the GZ co-ords. So with great excitement and relief IolantheK and I made our way to GZ.

The walk in, and finding of ? was easy in comparison to the puzzle and we signed the log and wondered were this bloke gets his puzzle ideas from.

The cache is dry and in good condition

About a year ago, my kids and I parked in this area and went for a little walk to find a new cache, and found that we were soon walking alongside none other than the legendary WingAAP. He was going to the same cache as us, but happened to mention that he was then going off to find '?' Being pretty new to the game back then, I'd had a glance at this one but was scared off by the 5 stars, despite it being close to home. However, I had the temerity to ask for a hint and after a moment's thought, he uttered one word. I made a mental note of it, and today, just over a year later, Tinda12 and I were back.
Some rain earlier today was very welcome but didn't make the find too easy with mushier bark etc. Our Garmin took us right to the spot, but we missed it and it then led us away to all sorts of strange spots. Eventually we returned and found everything safe and sound, and hopefully a little safer from bushfire after today too.
TFTC and a great challenge!

I must admit that I had not really looked at this puzzle when Captain Terror and I decided to head out in the area. The Captain gave me a few clues while we were driving down to the location as to how i should go about solving this, and I dont believe that I would have been able to without the clues Smile
On the way to the cache, we got a bit of a surprise when we found a chicken scratching around. I tried to catch her, but unfortunately she decided that she didnt want to be dinner tonight. Sad darn.
Onwards to GZ, It was so unbelievably hot today! Cache found and logged.
I ended up heading home and solving this puzzle myself too.
