A long glorious walk with the family. Rock hopping and being cautious where we stepped due to snakes and nesting penguins. Finally we can check this one of our list. TFTC
Hello Tas_Community thank you for the cacheA quick find by EeePees before I could get there. It's been a lovely walk out here lucky to have a low tide.Found on Saturday, 23 September 2023 at 1335Another great weekend caching with EeePees.**TFTC**
We love it - thanks for the cache wilco (R.I.P.) your legacy is still providing much entertainment and enjoyment in the great outdoors doing what we do. Makes for a solemn and contemplative location. Found it - with AlbyDangles on another northern excursion.Although the everchanging (terrain) conditions proved tricky at times, this was an enjoyable walk, and the area and views are pretty amazing. We found most of the caches along the way, but this was the main target. Thanks to the hint, the cache was quickly to hand with minimal disturbance to the environment and its inhabitants. We had the long point to ourselves but did meet/see a few muggles on our return.A nice warm sunny day complete with unplanned, but walker-friendly low tide. Plenty of marsupial and bird wildlife, luckily no snakes! Thanks to the Tas_Community who keep this cache in play for the enjoyment of all who follow.Cheers, EPs. 3654 - Saturday 23rd September 2023@1335hrs During my childhood, our family used to holiday at Hawley in an old asbestos/cement sheet shack with very basic amenities. This was before Shearwater was developed - pretty much nothing between Port Sorell and Hawley. All sorts of great memories - but never been out here before. Glad I came today especially with the most excellent company.

In Tasmania for 2 weeks to attend the Oceania Orienteering Champs. Caching all around for DT combos and counties. Cache easily found. About 90 minutes to get here caching on the way, and 1 hour back to the car. A rewarding walk to get this rare Tasmania D/T combo. TFTC.

Saw a danger noodle in the grass so took extra care at this one.
The log was damp/mouldy (please put lids on properly everyone) so we removed it and replaced. Everything in good order now and ready for the next visitor. TFTC

We have finally made it!
Just as the sun sets and the rain sets in.. this will be a fun walk back!
Cache is very wet and could do with replacing the logbook
Thanks for the find and the walk!

Out and about caching with all the Rafas for our holidays TFTC TNLN log dry, an easy find at GZ. Great views and just in time to get back for sunset.
Thank you to Wilco, and thank you to the Tas Community for keeping this cache going - it's a great cache. The walk was pretty tiring, but the views were worth it. A quick find at GZ. A favourite from me.
Today was the afternoon to see if we could get to the end of the caches out along this bit of coast. After successfully exhausting the two GeoGSP's int he morning, they stayed behind, and it was time to set off.....just after 4pm.
It was always going to be tricky to get back before dark at 7.30pm'ish, but you gotta give these things a go.
These last six caches were exhausting - either boulderhopping (the low road - see log from The Hancock clan) or trying to find a track through thick tea-tree or long clumps of grass where you couldn't quite see the ground - and it was a sunny day, so I was very snake wary! Luckily none were spotted - doesn't mean they weren't there!
Thankfully it was a beautiful autumn afternoon - sunny, not windy, and the views are beautiful.

There are 7 caches out here from the end of the track to Point Sorell which we needed to log. Today was the day ! Sunny but rather windy (B.O.M. rating .... gale force), so we decided to make a bee-line to Lieu-Pine-Ner to do the logs with our backs to the wind. Took about an hour to get to GZ, found quickly enough, did a bit of drying out work and added a couple of little sachets of dessicant to help keep the moisture at bay. Otherwise the waterproof paper allowed for signing. Thanks to those involved who are keeping this cache in play.
I needed to do a 20km run today for marathon training. Running gets monotonous so having caches to break it up helps a lot. I looked over the map to see if I could find a strip of caches with a suitable run track. Off to Port Sorrell I go. First time here. Wow! I can’t say running to this cache was easy! More like crawling and rock hopping and trying not to sprain an ankle. Well worth it. What a stunning place. Beautiful winters day. My soul feels refreshed. The memory of today may almost be like a happy place for me haha! Obvious FP
We were camping across the estuary at Narawntapu and this cache caught our eye. This afternoon we decided to make the trek out to it and what a great walk it is! After the 'track' ended, it became quite a challenge and we tried all terrains to see what was easiest going; big boulders, submerged pebbles, fence lines, tea trees, long tufty grass, stinky seaweed... Each terrain had its challenges so we tried a bit of everything until we finally reached GZ. What a stunning location! The cache was an easy find and we then headed back adding a bit more variety to the route and trying a slightly different way back, which incidentally was no easier! TFTC!

With Easter off from work, it was a good opportunity to try and close the gap on my target for the year. 500 finds for the year is the target, and this run brought me up to 230 odd, so only 3 months in I am on track for this target.
The highlight (and hardest part of this day) was the walk out to the cache Lieu-Pine-Ner at Point Sorell. The walk was challenging due to the number of rocks being very uneven. I was hoping 2 hours, but in the end it took 3 hours. Geo Kid O was still going strong at the end, but it had taxed me.
Thank you for placing this cache and maintaining it.
Long walk out to the cache, and longer on the way back as the tide had come in.
Great location

Well made out to the point and found all the other caches on the way. I stood one sign the log book, watched on by a snake looking out for his/her turf. TFTC
Out and about caching with Tassie Trekkers around Port Sorell, Squeaking Point, Shearwater and Hawley area and this was one that was targetted. A nice day for a wander even though it was very windy. A hard slog across the rocks as tide was high. Cache in good condition. TFTC
Another day geocaching up north. The sun is out and the wind is dropping so our plans for today will be some low tide caches and then do the walk to the point to find Lieu-Pine-Ner and the caches in between.
Parked the car ready to head to the point. Decided to grab any caches between the car park and the point!
WOW, love this one! Been wanting to do this walk for a long time and today was perfect. Such a lovely area and this cache means so much! Rest In Peace wilco and thanks for the fun!

Found this one after a long hike. Was very pleased to find a pencil here .Found two other caches (micro)but couldn't sign logbook as I had no pen.
Out for a walk to Lieu-Pine-Ner, it took us 2.5 Hours to walk from the car park. Their is lots of rocks to get over once you leave the end of the track. We decided to join the cows in the paddock to shorten the trip as tge rocks were slippery. Had fun getting under the fences ans Lbriggs7411 managed to get a zip from the fence we had been lifting it up heaps the some how he got a zap. We enjoyed our walk.
Out trying to solve the octagon puzzle when we hit a snag. So went on such of some traditional cases that we hadnt found.
Happy with 15 finds and got to celebrate my 600th cache. Nice to spend time with my nephew lbriggs7411.
Thanks Wilco for placing this cache in a great spot. A nice easy find.

After a long wait ("I really must get to that cache out at the point"...) the day had finally arrived. It was a bleak start from the Larooma car park, the weather was overcast! As we progressed and hit previously unknown "Track" the weather picked up.
The cows were very excited to see us!
The cache was quickly in hand by Ms Spreyton22, signed and we were on our way back.
Total walk time 2 hours, 26 minutes.
A few photos to share.

Lieu-pine-ner was in my to do list and with a lot of new caches along this track it made it even more enticing to make the long walk along the track. All the caches along here were nice and easy find and in good condition. Return Walk was about 50 mins
Today with COVID19 restrictions easing, I headed to port Sorell/Hawley beach area to clean up the new caches within the area as well as some I had missed on my last visit here. With 32 caches in the list for the afternoon only 22 were found. I will return.
Thanks for the cache

Well this cache has been on my list for many a year since I was first in the area on a work trip, having done my days work I headed out at night to get this cache but only managed to get a short distance towards GZ as it was dark and the tide was high.
Walking it now in the daylight makes me think I made the correct choice as it was a interesting walk in daylight with a low tide. This cache is also one of the few remaining wilco caches I had not found and this one means a lot to me.
It's nice like I can thanks wilco now for all the enjoyment he has given me over the years.
A quick drive up from Hobart to attend a CITO which involved an overnight in Ulverstone, we got to find over 40 hand picked caches, some were picked for their D/T others for their age and the due to a bit of good luck we got three FTF's but the stand out for me had to be one i couldn't get to 7 years ago due to not wanting to rock hop for over a kilometer in the dark.

We hadn't really intended to walk out here this weekend but Spreyton22 lured us to the area. After finding the caches along the foreshore track we just kept going, first on a narrow but quite defined track but then mostly rock hopping. It was a long trudge out in the warm breeze and all we could do is just put out heads down and place one foot in front of the other. I would have liked to looked up more but it was too dangerous to not keep a check on our footing. As we closed in on GZ, SSR saw a large dark animal It could have been a rabbit, a fox, a feral cat or even a dinosaur for all I know, [?] I didn't see a bloody thing. I had my head down placing one foot in front of the other. [B)] We made our final approached from different angles and soon had the (broken) cache in hand. SSR had brought along a replacement so the old logbook not tucked away in its new container.
I have one more Wilco cache to find. Cheers mate
An overnight trip to the 'sunshine coast of Tasmania' was arranged with stainless steel rat so we could clock up another CITO. We cherry picked a few caches on the trip, oldies, interesting D/Ts, some multis and a selection of GCAs as well. As always our list was bigger that time allowed so some were skipped. We were also lucky to score three first to finds which we were grateful for. Another good weekend away.

We're on a family holiday to the Apple Isle and what better activity to do as a family than find some caches... except that the rest of the family aren't really into caching. Oh well, at least TGLW comes along for the walks.
On my previous visit to a nearby cache at end of the walking trail at the point a couple of days ago, I didn't realise that there was a cache further along until I scrolled out the map. Today I decided to make the trek with the family in tow. Pretty soon after the trail ended, everyone decided that this was definitely not their thing and went back.
It was not the easiest of walks, especially as there was lots of wind. But it wasn't too warm. I crossed paths with another walker at a bit of distance suspecting that he might have been a fellow cacher, but the lack of markings in the log suggests otherwise,
Once I got to the cache the impression of isolation was pretty profound, so I decided that this was the perfect opportunity to log a GCA cache "Nude up for a smiley!" (https://geocaching.com.au/cache/ga0337).
Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables.
Thanks for the cache Tas_Community

What and adventure to round out 2018. It felt like the rock hopping was never going to end.
The harder fest part was the last few metres, the vegetation sunk underfoot. Then I saw black scales in the grass - but after taking a deep breath I realised it was just plastic sheet. The cache was in good condition, a little water has leaked in but the log was ok.
The the walk back - it felt like it was twice as long as the walk in. I stopped to refresh my sunscreen and walked away without picking my GPSr up. So back track about 100m to retrieve it while TaurusSix continued. I caught up quickly though.
It was low tide so we could walk well out onto the rocks. Not that that made it any easier. It felt good to return to the track. Overall a great experience.

We found this whilst doing the walk from Moorland Beach following the coast around to Port Sorell. Its a pretty easy walk at least with the tide out - maybe not quite so if the tide is high. The day was cloudy but fine and importantly - no wind. Made for a very pleasant walk indeed. There is no track as such but its pretty easy going either along the beach or up along the rocks. Lovely views along the way. Got to GZ and made the find. Cache container is cracked underneath and needs to be replaced to keep the elements out. Contents were still OK - just. A little on the damp side but log was still alright. Thanks wilco - lovely spot.
What a great spot! Sad about leaving Tassie next day I truly enjoyed the walk / rockhop to this cache. Lots of sun, lots of wind, and lots of fun! Once there, the name of the cache made perfectly sense
Thanks heaps for luring me to this very special place, wilco!
Took nothing, left a fav

Holy moly! Maybe not the best cache to hunt down on a gusty day with limited sun light left, but oh what great fun!
OMG it was insanely windy and foam was being blown in off the water onto us but beautiful spot and nice walk. PS. good job with the name (-=
Loved the walk out to the point, especially across the sand and rock hopping the boulders. Spectacular views and gusting winds, this place has it all. A nice easy find for the finale.. thanks..!!
Travelling around Australia and now in Tasmania!
Headed out from Loira to continue our pursuit of the Octagon series.
Great rich soil in this area and so many farmers hard at work.
Mr Felix made the lengthy trek out to this cache and the nearby Trig point. Lovely walk as he got his feet massaged by the rocks.
Along the track he saw Pademelons, Wallabies and evidence of Penguins but none seen. Also saw 2 snakes on the track back to the car so cachers beware!

This was a huge hike over the rocks (took us 1 hr of rock hopping to get there via the shore near high tide, less on the way back with tide further out), but it was so worth it. We saw an echidna close to the GZ - I don't think he sees a lot of people out here!
We were entertained by the sign at GZ, pointing to "track", which we can only imagine means that there is a track ~1km in the direction of the arrow (there was certainly no track anywhere else around! ).
TFTC If it wasn't here, we wouldn't have ventured far beyond the 'end of the track' & we would have missed today's experience.

TFTC, found this one with dad who was very impressed considering the family owns the farm. We also appreciate every one sticking to the track and not short cutting.
The need for a smiley on a map is amazing. That was a Hugh hike. Now I have to go back. Pity no cafés around here. Tftc
A very enjoyable walk from Port Sorrell. TFTC Wilco, took a couple of newbies with me and may have made at least one convert to the game.
After a long walk enjoying the views and the nice breeze over Bass strait, arrived safely at GZ, unfortunately the flock of sand flies had beaten me today and wanted their share of blood. Quick sign of log and attempt a fast get away, folllowed quite a way... thankful of sea breeze which detered some away. Great view, beautiful scenery and lots of rock pools. TFTC
5th find for the day found after a long walk on what semmed to be the windyest day ever...
A nice easy find after a long walk around the track, long the beach and over the rocks. A beautiful spot so favourite point awarded. TFTC.
Thoroughly enjoyed this beautiful coastal walk. Thanks for organising such a great hide and giving us a reason to trek out here. TNLNSL. TFTC.
I was hoping to get out to the islands on this visit but by the time I finished work the tides were all wrong.
So instead I walked up to this cache though I had left it rather late in the day. I realised the track would finish but it was fairly rough going and when I reached the cache at 5.45pm I knew I had little light left to return and a rising tide to boot.
Nevertheless I put my foot down and managed to get back to the main path before it was too dark. All in all the walk took 75 minutes return and I will always remember it for its isolation and early evening beauty. Seldom could conditions be more benign.
Thanks wilco

What a beautiful morning and after dropping my sister off at the airport after a short visit with us we decided to head off to do this one. A lovely walk - thanks for the cache Team Natty Dean
It had been at least 20 years since the last time I walked out here. The track may be gone but the views along the way are worth the trip. Thanks Dean for bringing me back. TNLN.
A great little adventure is required to find this cache....well for my youngest cacher that is. Once upon a time there was a walking track from the "Carbuncle" to here but now that track is gone, overgrown, washed away and buried. Fortuitious timing from the sea scout leader regarding tides suggested that this scouttrip would be relatively easy but no, unless rock hopping is your forte, the walk out is arduous and trackless. The vista from the cache site makes the journey worthwhile and a long time has passed since I wished that I had a map and compass to work out what was around me but the combination of an a stunning view and clear skies/horizons made me wish I had brought a map.....and I was on a scout walk. We spent a good deal time of time at the cache site admiring the views while scout members cooked a meal with trangias and so our walk back finished in the dark, a not too comfortable option given the rough rocky terrain and the rising tide.
The cache container is in good condition and the hint appropriate.
Thanks Dean this was a great cache to find and the walk should really be on every cache explorer's to do list.

This was our first of three caches for the day a great spot with excellent views. When the track disappeared we rock hopped the rest of the way. We found the cache as per hint. Walked 10 klms for 3 caches that day TNLN TFTC
Been waiting until our annual camping trip to Port Sorell to attempt this cache. We have walked out here many times before but usually at dusk as there are many great spots to sit quietly and watch the fairy penguins come in to feed their chicks. There used to be a very clear track almost to the cache but this was too overgrown to find so we ended up rockhopping our way there and back. Glad to finally cross this one off the list. Thanks.
A good test to see how much my fitness had dropped away during my caching layoff. Put the hammer down...had cache in hand in 35min....all good...signed log...a quick nap..then off...returning in all up time of 72min. A good challenge for those redneck southerners to beat...
Great piece of coastline...tip for others....definite help to have lowish tide...otherwise you'll be up in the bull rushes with the snakes. Very enjoyable...so many thanks dean_erwin...my type of cache.....Cheers.

Great walk to this cache, although it was a little difficult in places. It was a shame that the weather wasn't on our side today as the views would have been lovely here today. We were however lucky enough to come across some wildlife on our way to and from the cache. Will upload some pics soon. TFTC dean erwin well worth the effort
Initially we thought this would be a relatively easy pleasant coastal walk and it was until we reached the Carbuncle. Our first mistake was to go at high tide meaning that some of the walk was through quite dense and long clumps of coastal grasses - very difficult to see where to place our next steps. Other parts of the walk in were relatively straight forward. Finding a good route was made a little more difficult as we were looking into the sun on our way to GZ. When we were able to raise our heads from trying to find a way forward, we were rewarded with excellent coastal views. Once at GZ (well above high water mark even on a king tide) a quick find was made and we know know the meaning and origin of the name of the cache. The walk back was better as we weren't looking into the sun, we had a tail wind and some part tracks were evident - aso the tide had receded and we were able to rock hop in places where previously we had to battle through the clumps of coastal grasses. The round trip from the carpark took two and a quarter hours. A challenging but very rewarding walk - an excellent caching experience. TFTC

Lovely walk on a beautiful Tassie winter day. I followed the shoreline, enjoying the rock hopping! I was not FTF as log indicated that cache had been found only 3 hours earlier. TFTC
