No response from owner. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the current guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.
This cache hasn't been found since October last year and there's been no response by the CO to DNF's and Needs Maintenance logs - maybe it needs to be archived?
The cache appears to be in need of owner intervention. I'm temporarily disabling it, to give the owner an opportunity to check on the cache, and take whatever action is necessary. Please respond to this situation in a timely manner (i.e., within 30 days) to prevent the cache from being archived for non-responsiveness.

Had a quick look with the kids but after reading the previous logs didnt have much hope of finding it
Please would the CO check if this one's still there as its had several DNF's. Thanks!
On a Valentines Day outing to maintain some of our caches and find a few others for a challenge. We had to detour home because of an accident in the Karangahake Gorge so stopped here. We looked for several minutes with no joy then read the DNF logs and realised it was probably gone.
Looked and looked and looked.
Poked and poked and poked.
Felt and felt and felt.
Am thinking it may have walked.
Cheers

Paper rock scissors for who was brave enough to enter the darkness. Quick find once that was sorted! Tftc
#7104. Stopped by Hamilton Street to have a look at the Te Aroha Power Station site this afternoon. A few other visitors were also passing through here. Quick find when the coast was clear. Nice hide. The cache was in excellent condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.

It seriously annoys me when I spend a very long time trying to find a cache and I can't find it only to come back a second time months later to put my hand on the damn thing in the first place I look!!! Really! Why couldn't I have done that in the first place and saved myself a second trip and months of annoyance cos others found it and I couldn't?
I think I remember seeing this in my hiking days. Of course, there was no Geocache here at that time since this was BC (Before Caching). TFTC.
What an interesting bit of local history. Thanks for bringing me here.
Cheers for the cache.
Cheers for the cache.
The engineer of the team loved coming here and looking at the old generator. Great place for a cache. Thanks
Clever hiding spot! I got quite a few sandfly bites while I was here though, wish I wore shoes that covered my ankles haha!
Had run out of puff after the ascent of Mt Te Aroha yesterday and a short paddle on the river this morning. So made this cache the last for the day and only had to stagger a few metres from the car seat. TFTC.
A nice quick find, had previously spent time up the walk looking for another cache. TFTC!
The log is nice and dry! Great spot, thanks. Juniors liked climbing on the generator.
I was in Te Aroha today for a hike up the mountain and back again. I had some spare time before meeting up with the other hikers so had a quick look for this cache. A nice easy find here - TFTC!
Quick stop on our drive home south. Managed to get covered in sandflies in about 30 seconds....
Cool little old power station never would of know it was here if it was not for the cache.

After a sneaky visit into HRT country last weekend with Gap (of Fap and Gap), I was keen to have another hunt in the area. Two kids and the dog were aboard and we were going great, until the gps died on us (faulty)...
A short diversion from the HRT. A quick search and the cache was in hand. TFTC.

Nice quick find after completing the HRT series. Looks like an interesting spot we might have to revisit in the future.
My second find of the day before starting the rail trail. Thanks for the history 8am.
Found with FMZ while killing some time before the nearing event. FMZ was convinced I should be the one doing the feeling about in the dark openings but then did so himself and managed to produce the cache. Thanks!
Hanging about in Te Aroha before the HRT event this evening, slieschke and I headed up to find this cache. It was a quick find and then we were greeted at the fence by a very friendly dog from next door, just about falling over because it was wagging its tail so much. TFTC!!!
Staying in town while cycling the Hauraki rail trail over the next 2 days.
Had hoped to do the walk but it was getting dark by the time I got here. Thanks for the history TFTC

Found originally as part of rebel98 team, now created own account, re-logging as rustynz
See rebel98 log, had to stop to admire the history of the area. Photos taken, log signed, its time to say goodbye to Te Aroha. Thanks again for the hide.

Thanks for the history, looked at nearby information board. Loved how they quickly the locals used up the extra power when it became available, demand exceeded supply! We are leaving Te Aroha, end of holidays, maybe see you all again sometime this year!
Love spots like this,i find the history real interesting.Cache is still in the dark, couldn't get the power to go.TFTC.
Grandkids a little shy of putting hand in dark places but eventually located.
We groaned as we drove up to this one as we have no luck with these type of hides and had yet another DNF of this type just last weekend in Huntly. Luckily it was soon in hand and the curse was broken. Now, do we try Huntly again?
Very interesting history here and we enjoyed the read, SL, TNLN, TFTC & greetings from Aussie cachers
A very interesting piece of history in a quiet back area of Te Aroha. Nice hide. TFTC.
1.55pm. Second time for us as we found the first at this place a few years ago. Quick find again.
Thank you. David and Noeline

Decided we needed to get some more caches today after our late night excursion. Plan was decided and so here we start, making our way toward Mercer, then out to the Hauraki Rd. Hopefully the weather holds out a bit. I'm glad that Z-NZ doesn't have a problem with put his hand into strange places. I didn't like the look of the big black spider that came out.
#28 for the day.

While TLM Mum checked out the shops I had enough time to get here and based on the clue found it in the first spot I checked. Interesting little history lesson on the signs nearby. Thanks Le Motellier.
Just our luck, it started to rain hard as we got here, but we only got a little bit wet because of the good clues for the cache. Thank you...
Fasinating piece of history. I have recently been involved in helping install a pelton wheel ...much smaller than this one. For one house not the whole town. Much more modern using the parts from a Gentle Annie washing machine. Thank you for showing me this spot...and of course the cache.
What a great place to be brought to, very interesting reading the history and a bonus as well!
Thanks

Found before walking up to the falls. I think this must be the stream that did a lot of damage a few years ago. TFTC
