Looks like this cache has been destroyed due to road works and i cannot confirm as I live too far away. Archiving!
Had a go at this one one way home from work, there is a lot of construction going on i thought i was in right place found a Energiser AA battery and skinny pen by a tree
There seems to be a lot of construction going on here with tree trimming being done all around the GZ and a newly erected fence in place in anticipation of the Victoria tunnel being started. The most 'obvious' spot was empty . Wondering if perhaps the construction has affected the cache location?
Found it on second attempt. There was no scribble stick, so will return at some stage to document.
Cachers should probably be aware that this cache is easier to find than they might imagine and should not require digging away at the roots of the trees....

Found this one very early this morning. Took a few moments to find the exact right spot and then it was a reach to retrieve it. TFTC!!!
Budokan went the hard way, a good geocachers method, I chose the easy way, as I had the gps in my hand. Good find by Budokan SL TFTC
I went high, and hanjac went low. He was right of course but I found the cache hide but he nabbed it from the other side

Bit of a mission working out where to park but when we sorted that out it was a pleasant walk to GZ. Had trouble getting the cache from it's hiding place but eventually we had it in hand T4TC.
A nice easy find at lunch time. Except for the traffic it was very quiet. No troll only a few runners around the waterfront

Oldest cache I have found so far. Retrieval is the hardest part. Have placed it in a position that, if you are careful and don't drop it (like I did) it should not be too bad. Found with Shiboo's help.
pretty tricky this one!

we suggest an elephants trunk!
almost muggled by some dogs (ahaa maybe that was what the stick was for??)

Out and about collecting caches with Kiwicouple. We tried to attack this one from the wrong angle at first, but made our way to the cache site in the end. A very interesting spot. Thanks.
Took the low road, then took the high road ... Eventually found ourselves at GZ. Once there we found a nicely hidden cache. Never explored this area before. No sign of the 'troll'. The nights must be getting too chilly for him to sleep out. Thanks for bringing us here.

Took a while, had to trust the GPSr - like others, I discovered altitude matters with this one. [#2 of 2 on today's georun. TNSL + thimble TFTC!]

easy find with Kache rat and bush navigator the trick with this cache is to use a stick to hunt around
Found with Kache cat and Kache rat. Rode on after The Lamps GC after school. Easy pleasant access down the path from the Shelley Beach Rd footpath. Much safer too then approaching via the motorway on Curran St side. Interesting to see the old cliffs from where the shoreline would have been before the reclamation. Easy find. TNLNSL. T4TC.
Found at about 11pm this evening, I remember looking for this cache maybe two years ago, but having no luck. Tonight it was quick and easy, within less than ten mins I was back in the car on the way home to bed.
The multipurpose poking stick proved useful again today. Tricksy wee hide. Cool spot and heaps of dogs out today! TFTC.
This is our first Geocache find!
Was at our local dog walking park and found it with the satellite picture as we don't have GPS yet.
Beware the Muggle dog walking group from www.skykiwi.co.nz on weekends.
Great hiding place and looking forward to finding more!

Hm, we chose a wise route to get to GZ. We were almost undisturbed from muggles. We looked everywhere. We climbed, we crawled. We reached into, we up, we reached down. No cache. Maybe we were blind in the fading light...?
No problem with access to this one, a nice easy walk on the flat. Had to search a bit before found, a pretty good hide.

07:18 Haven’t been here for ages, we used to come and swim here when were kids. I remember the water used to be quite cold.
Started at the top of the hill and discovered that I needed to descend to get to ground Zero, area was quite wet after the recent rain, so not a good cache to do in work clothes.
No sign of tent or troll, he must have moved on. Great views of the Harbour bridge from the cache site. TNLN. Thanks for bring us here and for the cache.

Initial got on the wrong side of the motorway but followed my nose to the other side. Found after a short search. The clues are a little misleading. The cache might have been moved from it original position. suggest owner checks it out and perhaps reviews the clue. Good cache though and interesting spot.
Well it's all about the approach, hehe enough said. Quick find once GZ was located. TFTC
No luck with this one. GPSr put us right at the gate, after an approach from above (RadioNut50 wanted to take the direct route from above!!! But Butterfly found the path and those huge steps - lucky a quicker return route was found)
Hunted at GZ - high, low, wide and wider. No luck. Lots of lovely under roots hidey holes, where one was brave to put one's hand - lots of lovely sticks to poke with.
No cache found today.

5:15 pm.
Second stop of a two-hour shoreline run this evening that started from my lodging on Albert Street. Once I got out of the downtown area, I was able to find paths less traveled. I hoped to run across the bridge, as I was able to do in Sydney last March, but discovered en route that Auckland’s is closed to pedestrians. I dropped down to the hiding area while countless motorists were tied up in a horrific Friday afternoon rush hour traffic jam. As I was approaching the cache area, one guy in a carload of laughing 20-something males called out something about looking for my cannabis stash. I suppose that could be a possibility if Geckos were into such things. Coordinates were good and I found it in the second place I looked. Left a TG card and a sky blue lizard. Took a miniature sheep. Thanks.

This little beauty can be taken off of maintenance. It's in good shape with harbour views.... TNLNSL TFTC! (#69)
This cache can come off the maintenance list as it is in good condition. Someone's even added a pencil!
After jumping of the nearby bridge with the hackett Crew we decided to try a few caches before the weather got too bad. Unfortunately we took a few wrong turns and ended up visiting Tartons instead. After a great time there we finished the day by coming back to the nearby pool and walking down here. Cache was quickly found and we continued on our way.
Quick find on the end of today's Auckland trip... Nice place, the cache is in good condition. Thanks!

Probably the fastest cache Ive done..Forced to drive down to the waterfront after the onramp to the bridge was closed earlier,I pulled over by the fishermen, donned a hi viz jacket & joined the workers on the road.At one stage I knew the deception was working when I got asked to sign the safety register,I was tempted!! Unnoticed I slipped into GZ & did the deed.Strangely, the cache top is now yellow & not light blue,& its in good condition, with log book far from full.I hope its not the same as the cache I saw earlier when there were 2 caches in the same area.
By the way,the tramp has long gone!
TNLN SL Thanks!!

Hey! So...fyi... I'm the cache owner.. I haven't even been living in NZ for near on 2 years and havent seen this cache for at least that if not more..So I'm amazed it still exists..and really amazed too..thanks for taking good care of it anyone!
And if the next visitor could take a new logbook...that would be great..if they have a scanner and care to scan the pages of te old one..that would be great too!

I'm the 2nd finder today for this cache. Straightforward, once you find your way to it. Container screw top is very loose and probably not watertight. Suggest the next finder wraps the thread on the jar with a couple of turns of insulation tape.

Troll appears to have vacated his plot, so the coast was clear. A careful inspection of a likely location revealed that the cobra was not at home so we were able to extract the container with peace of mind. Added mini-stapler to cache contents then returned up the steep winding path. Good selection for a cache location.
Found with TDBearNZ. Interesting spot for a cache. Almost got muggled by a lad with his dog, but we had everything back in place well before he got anywhere near.

Last of eight finds on my fourth night in Auckland. I parked at the side of the private road into the marina, and walked across the road to the cache. The troll wasn't in residence, for which I was grateful. I found the cache at 2245 after a short search. It's not hidden as described in the cache description, but was nonetheless an easy find. The lid is no longer a "translucent blue lid", but rather is a "translucent yellow-green lid". Time to go home to bed. My thanks to Steve and Liz for the cache.

As a visitor to Auckland, the list of DNF's put me off looking for this. A recent find encouraged me to look for it and so, on this rainy afternoon I set forth to find it. A quick find was my reward for the search.
OOOOPS - completely forgot about going there to check~!!!
GLAD TO SEE IT'S STILL THERE!
GLAD TO SEE IT'S STILL THERE!
Found it early morning 7ish. VERY good hiding spot . Left our scratch in the log and carried on. Didnt see this infamous troll tho, may have found some more up market real estate to inhabit (perhaps further from the motorway to get away from the noise?). This was our final cache for the night, and selected it for a change in scenery to get away from point england!! Didnt realize there was that much traffic in the city and 6~7 in the morning!
Perhaps you could either archve this cache so someone else can place one in the area, or offer the cache to someone in the area to own?
This could be done by starting a thread in the NZ GPS forums.
Cheers,
Kevin aka GenCuster

This is proving harder than we thought. Couldn't get out there earlier, and today when we were passing by there were way too many cars behind us to stop, even though we tried to time it well (so that there are no cars behind). Then we ran out of time... Will have to try again!
Hey guys, thanks for all the great words about my cache. Unfortunately I live in Australia now so it's not terribly easy for me to check this cache out.. Would be good for somebody to confirm/deny it's still there! Thanks
We will check it on Sunday and if missing happy to replace, provided there was noone before us do that.
Found GZ easily, put hand in but found no container.
Either my arm was not long enough or site has been muggled.
Had a very good look around similar sites in area with no luck.
Found an empty small zip lock bag on ground close by, dont know if it is out of the cache or not.
Please can you check out.

We are visitors from Holland and enjoy our stay in NZ. Even more with the geocaching spots. Altough this spot was difficult to find in the spagetti-junction. Just before sundown we found it. Thanks. NINO
There were muggles playing a game of soccer by the steps up to the pools, but they were out of sight of the cache. Checked the logical spot, but found nothing and hunted around. Checked the same spot again and there it was - very well hidden. Glad to log one of the classics (is this the oldest active cache in Auckland?). TNLNSL TFTC

Went for a nice stroll - always wanted to visit this area when driving past - a perfect opportunity. When we arrived at ground 0, there was a muggle with a can of coke standing right at the cache location, we though, maybe geocacher, but nah, we were wrong, just another muggle - but why right there? so we walked away and came back later to find the cache quickly and easily. But what a nice hiding location!!!
