Due to recent cache issues we are archiving our caches. Down the track when these issues have been dealt with we will look at putting out new caches. Sorry, BPJTHillas.
Caching today with Tomstache. This cache was very well disguised , it took quite a while before we were able to put our hand on it. Rather relieved it was not a hot day as I think this would be a good spot for "Joe Blakes" to be hiding. TFTH
Thanks for the cache, cool cache. Quick find, cool camo. Caching with Motndarg today.
My first time looking for cache and no luck but had loads of fun looking with my siblings.
Out this morning for a spot of adventuring with sulkybear and our 2 geokids (aged 3 & 5). Have never walked around these wetlands before so we did that first them headed for the cache. Very clever hide. We were searching everywhere but sulkybear came up with the find rather quickly which was a bonus. Thanks for the hide and cool camo and for bringing us to a great walking track
Finally! threw the GPS in the glovebox and went to find on instinct alone. Much easier to find without the compass jumping up and down the hillside. Hmmm, sometimes you have to know when to hold em and when to fold em! Nice cache hide. Similar to about 5 oithers I have found before and just because you know what to look for does not guarantee success. This was about my sixth visit in search. So gotta get a fav point. TFTC BPJTHIllas.
Looked on the high road and then on the low road and then on the very high road. GPS sent me to the edge but no smiley today. Got too dark to continue. To be continued... in the daylight again.
No luck with this one today. It was however or first attempt at finding a cache. I think we were close though.
Went looking for this one after the morning event in Ballarat. Didn't think it would elude me but GPS had other ideas. It just wouldn't settle and kept on giving me different directions. Maybe next time.
Headed to where the GPS and hint seemed to be in sync then something made me decide I was too low and I mountain goated it up the side of the hill. Believe me this is not my usual activity but once part way up there was little choice but to get to the top. Upon reaching the top my GPS decided on another GZ and after descending via a different track I found myself in the original spot Having exhausted the options AND myself I moved on to cool off in the air conditioned car
After looking in the wrong rock pile fora couple of minutes , geogf found in seconds meters away TFTC!
An afternoon of caching with Dutch Frangipani before attending the Mid October Dinner Event. The day was cold, windy and raining but we still managed to find a few caches. Unfortunately we also had a few DNF's as Ballarat is inundated with micros with no hints to assist.
Fortunately this was a find for us. Dutch Frangipani managed to find the difficult way in for this one but the cache was soon found and logged.
Thanks for the cache BPJTHillas

Found this one while out and about with Sorceysal getting some Ballarat caches we were yet to find. It was a freezing cold and wet day but we still managed to have a fun day out and attended the Mid October Event. After being a bit of a billy goat and some searching around, I managed to find this one and take the easier "Rocky Road" way out - wish I'd found that way first Thanks BPJTHillas for this clever hide.
Found at about 2pm. A few people were being introduced to caching today, and this was their first (on a drizzly Ballarat day). I couldn't find it, but very happy that the youngest of today's team was able to locate the clever little hide. Maybe the difficulty level could be lifted a smidge. TFTC...It was a good one for introductory purposes.

I sent geokid1 in to find this, I was being a bit lazy, but he needed my assistance. Took us a little while, but found in the end. I like these types of caches. TFTH BPJTHillas.
The GPS unit took awhile to settle in the trees but once it did , we had a likely search area.
We spotted something different a minute or two later and signed the micro sheet on a very chilly morning.
Many thanks for the rocky road cache theme.

Second time at Rocky Road with a fresh set of eyes and bingo it stood out after a quick search.
Great hide.
Great hide.
Hard work in the dark, no chance to visit with Hope. Found with Sir J-Oz, after quite a bit of searching and serious mozzie attack. TFTC
Found @ 22:00 with Muggle-L on a long weekend break in Ballarat. We'd had a BBQ dinner at the accommodation and a cheeky tipple as well. My better half sent me off with Muggs for a cache hike, and this was the second of four.
After stumbling around in the dark like buffoons for a quite a while, I eventually spotted something which triggered a "look more closely at this" subliminal message. Bingo, cache in hand. Good thing too, as I was about to give up and pull the plug.
Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables.
Thanks for the cache BPJTHillas.

Found it easily enough, muggles passed nearby but I was ridiculously lucky in that my clothing matched the colour of my surroundings perfectly and they never spotted me. TFTC.
OMG. This cache has been quite the challenge. Some may even see it has been quite the pain in the rear. Today was the 4th time I have visited this place. Even after bringing other geocachers with me on two occasions, today I finally located it. I think the maintenance done recently was the savior. I am so utterly relieved to tick this off my list. Finally TFTC!!!!!!!
I HATE THIS CACHE!!!!
I have been here several times since my DNF back in December 2011 and it has become somewhat of a nemesis cache continually taunting me! Today I was in the area with shamus1 and he suggested stopping for another look.. I proceed to stare daggers at shamus1 but he didn't explode, he just kept grinning...
I haphazardly followed him up the rocky road and stood there sulking while shamus1 repeated the now familiar search process.. I was playing on my phone already loading the details for our next cache when something caught my eye, really..? HAHAHA, I feel like such a donkey!! but a very happy donkey as I can now tick this one off the list.
Thanks BPJTHillas for the.. fun challenge.
(+1 fav from me)

Unfortunately couldnt locate the cache though it could be that my GPS and searching skills are lacking .
Will sleep on it and return soon.

Went to check on this one and either it's gone on a bit of a cache creep or it has wandered off. We replaced cache and log in original position. If someone finds cache with logs pre 8/1/13 please let us know. It is right to find!
Alas couldn't find this one. Lots of recent rock falls by the look of it. So not sure. Will bring back another cacher with keen eyes to help next time.
Well here we are back at this one again and determine not to let it beat us this time, after so many tries before we had luck on our side and came up with the goods. You beauty. How did we miss it before.

While throngs of people were bustling around crowded shopping centres, struggling with food laden trolleys or searching for the ideal gift; we enjoyed a Cachemas spree around Ballarat with Ian & Penny.
Hey it was a bit of a rocky road, not really the chocolate and marshmallow variety , but it was sweet when we heard P-P say 'It's Here'.
TNLN . . SL . . Thanks for the hunt BPJTHillas.

This was our 9th cache find in the caching run & we found it at: 13:15.
This now makes our total find count 5615.
[blue]
We spent a really enjoyable day out caching in the area with Phetlern. The plan was to start at a common (unfound) cache and just do "next closest" until we ran out of time or inclination.
The 2 Wanderers also gave this one another shot today, and really it is their DNF experiences here that gave us the "edge" in our search.
[/blue]
Coordinate Accuracy: Excellent (<2 metres)
Cache Condition: Container and log book are in good shape.
Took: Nothing.
Left: Nothing.
Thanks BPJTHillas for the hunt today.

Went back again for our 2nd attempt and with a very small hint but once again after about 30mins searching gave up again. I think we have looked at every rock there is there.
Had no luck with this one today. Think we must have been cache blind today as this was the 3rd one of BJHillias we missed today. We'll be back

I think I found this one a long time ago, may have been before I had an account though.
Revisited, after ten minutes of searching trying my best to remember where it was, I eventually found it, and logged it as such! I love these kind of hides, TFTC!

On a third attempt Azz raced in and Sandy expected to Facebook awhile. Out he ran moments later, "flat batteries on the gps" "no I found it" Sandy replied "yeah right" "no,I did ". Tftf and the hint

After the hustle and bustle of OZ Mega - Guwapo, Mama & Papa are stopping in Ballarat for a couple of days before flying home. Quiet morning so Papa's off to find some local caches. This one proved quite elusive but got there in the end. Salamat!
Night 2 of our Ballarat Smackdown weekend with DazRascal, Blacklegend, Quasar3671 & Trailrunning which seen us collecting a great range of caches over 3 days, and this was one of them.
No muggles about tonight, but didnt make our search any easier. Checked the numerous hidey holes and were just about to resort to a DNF, and voila!
TNLN SL. Many thanks for the hunt.

Found on a Ballarat weekend with Haveanez, Trailrunning, Blacklegend and Quaser3671
Wasn't sure what we were looking for here and lots of eyes scanned the many hiding places many times over until it was finally discovered tucked away. Almost a DNF.
TFTC, Cheers.

One of 182 caches I personally found during our "Ballarat Smackdown" trip. The trip included teams Quasar3671, Trailrunning, Haveanez, Dazrascal and myself. Caches included around 30 mystery caches, a few earth caches, lots of trads and multis and both day and night caching. Some 4WD action was encountered as well, which was great. All puzzles within 60kms were solved.
I took three of my kids, Jasmine 7yo, James and Jemma 5yo twins, traveling from Tocumwal. The trip covered 3 days and two nights, staying in Ballarat. Quasar3671 took his two boys as did Haveanez. One of the best caching trips I have been on, and certainly lots and lots of finds, almost clearing out the main Ballarat area. Home base was the Miners Retreat motel, which was quite pleasant and quiet.
This was a find on our massive Saturday run, which included both day and night caches. Lunch was a picnic in the bush at one or our cache stops. A night caching run was undertaken after a rest and dinner.
This was a very tricky one to locate at night.... Scrambled about for a long while, and eventually got it. TFTC.

One of 184 cache finds during our "Ballarat Smackdown" weekend of caching on the 23rd to 25th. There were 13 of us including Blacklegend and three of his kids, Trailrunning, Haveanez and their two boys, Dazrascal and myself amd my two boys Tyler and Cooper. We'd spent a few weeks planning the trip, with every Ballarat Puzzle solved in the area, cache lists and road and route maps all ready to go. We stayed in the Miners Retreat Motel for the two nights and the accomodation and facilities were great. Our goal was simple - find as many caches as possible in the time we were here !
We found a great variety of caches and hides during the three days, which also involved a bit of walking and some 4WD fun as well in the state forests north of Ballarat. The weather was quite cold of the Friday and Saturday morning but eventually cleared to nice sunny weather Saturday arvo and Sunday. We all had a great time, especially the kids who did really well to keep up with the pace we were moving.
Our second day of caching and it was to be our biggest day and fullest day too. Into the night caching now and after some dinner and a freshen up back at the accommodation we were back on the road. A tricky hide that blended in well. Found and log signed. TFTC.

After a successful Friday evening to start off the “Ballarat Cache Smackdown” with 34 finds on the first day the Saturday was always going to be a day of superhuman effort. It started early with a run heading west and south, only to finish the day and night with a run to the Northwest and North. A great day was had by all because there was some good 4WDing and the weather held out for the day with only one notable shower. A total of 98 caches were collected today, and it shows you how quickly a cache can be located with so many searchers. This cache was one of them. Hard to located exactly which one late at night. Thanks for cache #131
After being in Ballarat two weeks ago it was back today with the suscoe team to add a few more smiley's to my tally. Our aim was to find a few mysteries and others as we passed by.
I had been warned by my caching mate that this was not an easy find and that proved to be true. On arrival he plonked himself on a rock and there he sat watching my every move with relish as I struggled to find this very well hidden cache. I searched high and low for this guy even using my torch to check in every crevice and crack until I eventually found it but had to remove a very large black slug that had made the cache home.
I think my caching buddy was a little peeved that I did not have to ask for a hint. The ageing Bushfire enjoyed the hunt for this cache and will give it a favourite as I thought it was the best find of the day. Another cache by BPJTHillas, I have lost count of how many of yours that we have found but thanks very much.

Found at 11.19am with Markndee. A sneaky hide on the rocky road, but Mr harrowang did not take long to locate it. It gets a favourite point from us too. #996 TFTC BPJTHillas
Found this morning with Harrowang. An initial scan revealed nothing, we took a seat while muggles passed and Mr Harrowang noticed another possibility to check...Hurrah! SL TFTC BPJTHillas
Suscoe and sister arrived here today with a bit of a determined attitude after a couple of DNfs.
A thorough search and we mean thorough, almost ran out, but just as we were debating heading off the one last look once again proved successful.
Maybe we should have the one last look at the start????
A cleverly hidden cache was located.
Thanks to BPJTHIllas for this challenge. Well done.

Went for a wander to this one recently and it is still there and well. Happy hunting.
Anything with the words 'micro' and 'rocks' shud be atleast 3 stars I think... But I will return
We set out to find 14 caches today, and have to say this was a most difficult number to achieve.
This cache didn't help boost our number. We spent quite some time here at around 13:35, but couldn't locate the cache.
We're pretty sure we left no stone unturned & lost patience in the end.

After a long Orienteering Relays in ballarat. found some caches on the way home. After a bit of a look almost to give up. when we found it. With MrX2. TFTC
Couldn't find it went up and down hill and looked under rocks and Branches still couldn't find it:O
The GPS jumped around a bit, and subsequently so did I . After trying different levels I found the sneaky little hide. Thanks BPJTHillas for the cache.

Whilst waiting for some friends to go bush walking took this opportunity to search the area. Geo hubby was helping? Careful of the time restraint I was about to give up when I noticed something strange on the ground. Hubby had discarded it. Quickly picked it up, signed log and returned it to where I thought hubby had found it.
Log book quite wet today.
