Second day of a weekend in the Wairarapa and our 7th cache of the day. Enjoying a rare outing on this side of the Lake. Nice quick find and no issues with the cache. TFTC.
A quick drive away from the windy coast, nice to grab a few cache with good parking for my Motorhome.Cache all in good condition.
Headed over the hill today for the NZ_B event.Glad the sun was out although there were times that it looked pretty threatening.Nice quick findLog signed tm/ww NZTFTC

A new cache appeared on the track between Ocean Beach and Wainuiomata a couple of weekends ago, and wondered to myself who would be the first to get it. Then, the days ticked over and no logs appeared. As I know the area, having walked this track a few times and camped at Corner Creek even more times, I knew that the walk was not a long one or a difficult one, so as this weekend approached I made myself a plan. Straight after work on Friday night, I headed over the big hill to the Wairarapa and down to Ocean Beach. I parked up by the Corner Creek campsite and began what was a lovely walk along the track to find and sign the log on that new cache. Once I was back to my car it was still light and I had plenty of time, so I decided to collect the few other caches in the area on my drive back home. This was one of them.
OK, it was dark by the time I got here, but it was a warm still evening and the parking area was all clear. No problem locating the cache, safe and well.
Thanks to Petriez for placing this cache.
I enjoy each and every cache I find, and it is only with CO's like this placing them out in the world that this wonderful game continues.

It's a pity there is nothing left here - but then there would not have been much there anyway - no platform, maybe not even a shelter shed. Nice easy find where the railway is no longer.
It's a rainy day so naturally my flatmate wants to go geocaching, primarily to collect the last few TMGTs before they get switched off for the evening. So we headed out this way, where the weather man said he wasn't going to turn the tap on. Well, it appears the tap leaks. There was drizzle all day, but that was still better than the solid rain on the other side of the hills.

The wind was howling through the trees, so I didn't hang around long enough to envisage where the station might have been. I didn't fancy wearing a tree branch! Luckily it was a quick find. TFTC
Had to get this one on the way back due to a muggle with a big tractor being in the way on my way up. No problems on my return journey, TFTC
Just a patch of gravel where the station might have been. We remember the train coming down the incline and stopping here but only if required . we are staying around the lower north island for a few days and visiting the sights here and this day we went into featherston a village well known to us . thank you for this cache safely tucked away . it was soon signed and returned to its hidey hole .
Out and about with Talla64 doing a bit of caching. This cache was a quick find thanks to good co-ords. Thanks for the cache and the history skindo.
On a trip to the Wairarapa with Flowerydaze on the hunt for caches and in particular PWGT 2 series, however we had a list of other caches to find also and this was one of them. TFTC Skindo
Another gun find with rebel98, thanks for history and cache
Day 1: A long weekend filled with adventure and finding caches with rebel98.
Started early with a plane flight to Wellington. The plan is to slowly make our way back to Auckland over 4 days in a rental car.
In the end we travelled 1550 km, with overnight stays in Dannevirke, Fielding and Tokaanu.
Statistics: 67 caches found including 1 adventure lab, a mixture of 7 puzzles, 4 virtuals, 12 multis, 1 earthcache, and 31 PWGT caches.
This weekend we both completed the PWGT geotour - Rua.
And on the way rustynz found her 7000th cache.
(Thank you to all the CO for their cache hides).

Visiting Masterton for a few days of work at the hospital. Fortunately it’s quiet so got time off to collect some local caches and explore Greytown and beyond. Heading down this road for the PWGT but collecting others on the way. Cache all fine. Up to nearly 300 Skindo finds now. Thanks for another smiley.
Drove past this twice and the distraction of the road works made me miss it both times. Oh well.
With the prospect of a nice long weekend available, I decided to spend a day or two over in the Wairarapa chasing archived Skindo puzzle caches and any other caches I would be passing right by including this one.
This was a nice and straightforward park 'n' grab. The cache was found exactly as per the Hint, and encountering no issues with the cache or the contents, I was able to swiftly sign the log before replacing everything exactly as found and heading back to the car.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache, and Happy New Year to you.

Log full. Had to write on corner of old log. Two further log sheets squeezed into bottom.
For some time now Mrs G had a set of solved puzzles ready to go find, mostly around Lake Wairarapa, and of course there would be a few others to collect en route to that area. Finally we got to go, taking a couple of days with an overnight stay in Greytown, so as to make the trip a bit leisurely and have time to enjoy the views as we travelled.
Today was Day 1 and we decided to drive straight to Featherston before beginning any caching so as to keep our focus on the lake area first.
This cache got Mr G reminiscing about coming by rail from Wellington to Masterton as a child and stopping at this very station on the way. For us today it was good to have this convenient place to draw into and stop for the cache, which was a quick find. TFTC

First one of 15 located today in the Featherston area, and then in and around Greytown. This was a quick find. #3167. TFTC.
Easy to find, but where was the station? A special cache for us, because it is find #1000 in NZ. Not bad for an overseas cacher, isn't it? TFTC
(# 5188). A day trip to the 'Rapa. Decided to go around the lake. A quick find. Everything in order. TFTC
Out biking the limestone cycleway from Featherston to the start of the Rimutuka Cycleway. TFTC
Down to Palliser to enjoy the spring sun while it lasts and pick up some caches. One last cache before the remaining colour in the sky was stained inky black. Good find, TFTC
Banian's Good Friday trip to Cape Palliser to get the most southern North Island cache, and a few others.
Nice to have a safe parking place, quickly found and signed.

Out and about in the Wairarapa today, field-checking locations for W2W... this one was nearby, so I decided to pause and collect it. Many thanks for a quickly found little gem. TFTC.
It would be a while since trains like the one on the sign went through here . I love learning snippets of history while out caching. Thanks for this snippet .
Managed to ignore the note on the cache saying do not disturb so the log could be signed. Returned as if we hadn't been. The two chimneys opposite make a great statement of times past too - I'm always fascinated at how they so often managed to stay standing when everything else has disappeared. Quite coincidentally I also managed to unearth a Yeti here. TFTC # 12,701
FITW Twin's Mama while researching my great grandfather's history. Celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary. Greetings from Paso Robles, CA, USA.
On the road for our first venture into the North Island with our little caravan to explore this part of the country. It is not a caching expedition but we do manage to stop for one or two . Our travels brought us to your cache – many thanks, Petriez/skindo, for bringing us to this spot. We’ve had great fun on the way, and look forward to finding a couple more caches as we travel on our way. TFTC.
I took my youngest son up to Wellington in the camper van. I dropped him off at his friend's house where he will stay. Meanwhile I get to geocache and be on standby.
I stayed in Martinburough last night and will be staying at Greytown, spending another day in the Wairarapa.
I was hoping to see the lake from here. No luck, so I will keep driving.

Day two of my mini break, or extended drive to Wellington to attend a full day meeting on Monday. Woke up in my cute cottage accommodation bright and early and after a bit of breakfast, and a plot of a plan, I was back on the road. Today's weather was not quite a forthcoming as yesterday's springlike goodness, but more of a mixed bag - dodging showers, howling gales, getting soaked and then driving around the corner to find that another section had had no rain at all. New Zealand weather - got to love it! No special wildlife to mention either.
No problems finding this cache here today. TFTC

Nice find on a lovely early morning drive down this side of the lake. Cache all good. TFTC
Doing a bit of a tiki tour with My.Precious, of the Wellington and Wairarapa areas this weekend, on another type of hunt, go to certain places and answer questions about something there. So if a cache was at the same spot or on the way to the next question it's a bonus. Had to be a bit fussy which caches were selected as we had limited time.
Nice in shade on a nice hot summers day.

Found while cycling along to Cross creek. Interesting history to read. thanks for the cache
Cycling the Rimutaka cycle trail and caching with trampingkiwi.
Day 2, Corner creek camp to Cross creek. A very windy day! Head wind most of the day. Last cache find before escaping the wind. TFTC!

Collecting as many caches as possible on our three days on the Rimutaka Cycle Trail. Very windy but managed to find it without being blown over. TFTC
with the weather being rubbish on Saturday I wasn't holding much hope of the weather being very nice down here, left home at 8am and managed around 28 and on our way home again by 3pm so we could get dinner on, the wind chill was strong got the rain off and on, but no where as bad as I expected it to be like, hope to make another visit down here as I have a few that need clearing up that have been on the must do list, thanks Skindo for taking the time placing all these caches, its a lot of work but if it hadn't been for you we would never have visited these roads - sorry for the copy and paste logs
Had a great day with redsoxbean! Beaches, seals, pinnacles, and caches! Visiting from Pennsylvania, USA. TFTC ^_^
Out with Loth making our way to Cape Palliser. Logged many caches on the way and we hiked through the Putangirua Pinnacle to see the paths of the dead. We also saw seals along the beach and rocks. Tftc!!
Wairarapa day for me - hurtling up and down the country lanes picking up puzzle and traditional caches as I go. TFTC
Spied the chimney's as we approached and the comment was made 'bet the next one is near there' and sure enough it is! Found with debsnz
Waited and waited but still no train. Well at least I found the cache. Second visitor for the day also. Thanks for the cache.
