Logs
Snug hide. Tricky to get the cache out. Drew blood in the attempt, but I'll live. Cache and log are okay. Last cache this evening and now to find my hotel. TFTC Liz and Bruce.
Visiting the Adelaide region for a week from Port Macquarie. Today was purely caching focused, mostly targeting specific caches from a pre-organised list, but a couple others were added to the agenda when we happened to be passing right by while en route to another. Yet another long, productive day with a very high success rate. We ended the evening with a pub dinner and a ride around the ferris wheel at Glenelg.A nice short walk and quick find of this oldie, was quite sad to see a dearly departed bird on the little geotrail in.Thanks for the cache
Continuing our journey east from WA and home to Vic. Had a great weekend at WAGB and now seeing the sights and ticking off LGA's.We made the decision to leave the van and do an overnighter towards Adelaide to tick off as many LGA's as we could. Day 2 of this journey, deliberately chose caches near reserves/playgrounds and carparks to make it easier to stop the geovehicle. Cache found quickly and all is well.TFTC TB's visited
A real oldie for today, I came here earlier in the year to find someone going up and down the steps here, waited a while and they were still going so went off to find another. Today there was no one here which made for a quick find. Took the TB for some travelling.
#2092This was the eleventh of twenty-seven finds for the day. After finding Nightmare on Elm Street, Mizmaz and I drove to this cache. After parking nearby, we assumed we needed to cross the bridge and I had flashbacks to all the suspension bridges I traversed in my trip to Vancouver in 2019. Needless to say, I was not deterred but our devices were indicating no need for us to use the bridge. We happened upon GZ very quickly and with the help of previous photos, we soon had CIH. SLTNLN. TFTC and an even bigger thank you for helping us cross off a missing month in our Ausmer calendar.
Found during a caching trip to South Australia chasing some challenge targets, specifically one of the last two Jasmer months (of those available in Australia) I require. Easy find in good condition without having to cross the inspiration for the name, well, guess that depends on which end of the bridge you park.
13672 Located by baby&Mrs gopher at 1530. While we were here a lady kept her eye on us as we scrambled around. The cache took some finding. All in good condition. SL Tnx Liz and Bruce. After her asking us if we were geocaching she stopped and had a great talk to us and showed us the now resident koala up high and feeding. A FP from us.
Found at 2:20 PM in the company of The Morris.A lovely location that had quite a few muggles passing by. Cache was found safe and sound in its resting place. Thanks to Liz and Bruce
Nice quick one after showing the kids the suspension bridge. Next person along should bring a pencil sharpener.
Took a bit of searching, but figured it out once I read the previous logs. Thanks for keeping such an old cache going
Thanks to flutterberyl I realised I needed to reposition myself to be able to access the cache. Originally I was stretching at the table while muggles walked past!Went for a walk across the bridge and back to celebrate- I remember coming here when I was little and being both excited by the bridge and disappointed by its lack of real swingyness!Log book is dry but worse for wear and almost full. TFTC!
Find # 11921On a brief work trip from the National Capital to Adelaide and I have a list of caches to collect in very little time Couldnt believe my luck to land this trip so soon after the MEGA so I can collect even more counties and add variety to my stats Picked up the trusty hire car on arrival and off I go. Making the most of the opportunity to duck out for a few hours of caching fun Now to come up with some reasons as to why I need to drive around town doing research for the ADLABS Super cool to have found this golden oldie all in good condition. All caches expertly located, retrieved, signed, and replaced. Thanks Liz and Bruce for Have a Swinging Time
Tftc. The new coordinates comment confused us as we can't search by coordinates on our app... but... I thought where I would hide it and BAM hello little one!
It was a bit hard to find but managed to find the little thing it was really goodly hidden. Caitlyn.
I came across this cache while I was fine tuning the itinerary of a completely separate roadtrip. With another cache, in another state, not fitting in to the time and space allocated I went hunting for an alternative published in the same month/year. And what do you know! There was this one right here in Adelaide. Right where I was going to be going in a weeks time. Woohoo!! So Im very happy to be claiming this find, although it took the three of us a little effort to locate. Signed as the SADDLE club for teams Shazzar, AtTheLakeHouse, Duppers Delightful Leap Excursion. Or something like that
In all our travels we would not have even thought to travel to this location. (HaHa). In your dreams, these cachers do. [:(!] Thanks for an awesome effort. Devilish Brilliant and Clever I like it Another one off the list TTBLNSL TFTC/TFTH/TFBUH - Liz and Bruce [^]

Found by Six Queenslanders Unsupervised In Radelaide Mega'ing. It's the last day of our magical mystery tour. All logs signed or stamped as SQUIRM. Thanks for the cache Liz and Bruce
The Leap Day Mega was a great excuse to come down from Queensland and weve had a busy time exploring Adelaide and surrounds cache by cache. Meeting up with friends old and new, we sometimes cached with them and sometimes alone but always had a great time. Although I have been to Adelaide before, this trip has shown me so many new and interesting places as Ive chased LGAs, oldies, challenges, interesting D/T combinations, rarer cache types and favourites. Thanks to all COs for placing and maintaining these caches for everyone to enjoy.
Its day 9 of Team SQUIRMs adventures around South Australia and our last full day in Radelaide. We have a few more hours left in the day before an event and a Fringe show so its time for more caching. Tftc Liz and BruceFind #5773
The SQUIRM Adelaide Tour - 2024 is almost over Its our final full day which means getting even more selective with our finds Theres still lots of do we want a __________? from the backseat of Staceys Mum, which means plenty of deviations to Davinells well laid out plan With a CITO in the middle of the day, an event in the early evening and Dizney in Drag tickets tonight we have the fundamentals of a timeline Thanks Liz and Bruce
The SQUIRM team has travelled from Brisbane for the MEGA.We are here for a week and a bit of Fun, Fringe and caching. Our last day of caching in Adelaide today so we are up nice and early (for me anyways ).Thanks for the cache l
#21851 @1530Today was chasing some higher D/T fishing caches from the Barossa series with ZQX, Fox in Jox and AngelG, before heading back into Adelaide grabbing some more solved puzzles on the way. Stopped by this old cache. AngelG soon made the find. TFTC.

What a beautiful spot! We came for the LGA and got a view as a bonus. Thankyou for placing this here for us to find! In town for the Mega but have had a few days to expand our caching to the Barossa and Victor Harbor.
In SA for the Great Leap Forward with AngelG, TikvaNZ and ZQX. Today is the Barossa region and other caches east of Adelaide.AngelG did the hard yards here. Great to get an oldie. TFTC L &B
We have arrived in Adelaide for the MEGA Leapyear 2024.We were last time in Adelaide in 2004 so it was about time to refresh our memories and get couple of more caches. This was one of them - and I loved the swinging bridge! A fav point for the location!Tftc Liz and Bruce
Cache # 11039 on 1 Mar 2024Mega time! This is my first mega in South Australia so am very excited to have made it here from the ACT. Arrived Wednesday by plane and leaving Adelaide on Saturday for a road trip back to the ACT. Travelling mostly with Fox in Jox, TikvaNZ and ZQX, but also with others intermittently. Looking forward to grabbing a wide variety of caches while here! Today we headed to the Barossa Valley to pick up a selection of the Barossa power trail caches which we had solved prior to the trip. Then a slow trip back to Adelaide via a number of caches that ZQX had prepared with a few others thrown in for good measure. Around 40 all up for the day! Aimed for this one because of its age, love getting these old ones. A couple of quick choices and I had the cache in hand. Thank you Liz and Bruce for the cache and the fun!
Funn # 26 741Another cache that eterg needed in her Jasmer/hidden moth calendar. We parked in the street nearby, and walked towards this. After a short search, we found the cache, signed in as TA, eterg and me, and drove to the next cache Thank you very much for this cache!Greetings from Norway!
Travelling wit stensbye. We are here for the Megaevent and will stay in Australia for two weeks. We signed as TA. Thank you for this cache.
Veni, Vidi, ViciHaving finally unlocked premium, its time to catch up on logs. Visiting Adelaide with the Gcrew (BFMC, Bushfire, Dromaniax, Jtreetrack2, Neville_Devil, Quickhealer2 and SimsFamily) for a mega adventure. Thanks to all the Cache Owners for their caches, we had a very busy, but very enjoyable couple of days in Adelaide and surrounds targeting a D/T loop in a day and whatever other caches took our fancy. No rest for the wicked on this trip.
Thank you fo the cache!I arrived in Adelaide with my bestfriend geocacher Ironford for the Leap Year Mega. We spent the morning at the Mega location, and then we took a bus to the city centre to do more exploring and geocaching. We managed to cover a lot of ground, including a beautiful walk through the Botanic Garden, and Park Lands. We followed River Torrens back towards the North Terrace and even got to see fruitbats flying out at dusk. Adelaide was such a lovely place to discover! We couldn't leave this oldie behind, and as a bonus to it, we saw gum trees in bloom and got to pet a sweet black labrador.
A huge thank you to the cache owner for creating and maintaining a wonderful cache. EP79 and I have embarked on a three-month long geocaching trip across the globe, and we are both grateful and thrilled to discover new places and new friends. The first part of our trip is dedicated to Australia and New Zealand. We started in Adelaide and fell in love with the city and the geocaching community. The main goal was the Leap Day Mega Event, but Adelaide was so much more than that!My Leap Year conquests continues after the Mega. I am very excited to log a 2001 find. What a treat in a beautiful place. Many thanks for an invite to a beautiful place and for a wonderful geocaching adventure. Greetings from Prague, the Czech Republic, Europe.
A late-night decision to take advantage of cheap airfares for dates less than a month after moving to Canberra committed me to a hectic 48 hours of geocaching and the most intensive stats-chasing I must've done to date!Despite having visited South Australia before, I'd never actually ventured into Adelaide and had plenty of fun being guided around it by some great geocaches. After a long day of shenanigans, I took one last solo stroll to pick up a couple of caches that were still of interest to me and in walking distance of my accomodation to maximise this day that comes only once every four years! While this wasn't initially the cache that had sparked my interest in a late-night walk, I'm surprised it wasn't in retrospect!I probably would've kicked myself if I'd discovered that an '01 hide was right near where I was staying after the fact. It's always a bit of fun to see a swing bridge (and this one was slightly spooky by night). There were no muggles to interrupt my search and I came up with the goods before long. Thanks to Liz and Bruce for placing this one here all those years ago!
We had about an hour to kill whilst waiting for the next activity at [The Great Leap Forward](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GCA1DNA) Mega event so decided to head over here to claim this oldie. Now to get back to the Mega location so we can join in the Tug-of-War. Thanks for find #5481TNLN
A couple of days off work so we can visit the City of Churches for the Great Leap Forward MEGA. The G-Crew met up at Adelaide Airport and all piled in to the Hyundai Staria Im pretty sure Staria means not that comfortable and be prepared to slide around in your seat. The G-Crew (BFMC, Bushfire, Dromaniax, JTreeTrack2, Neville_devil, Quickhealer2 and Sims-family) have prepared for months and are ready to go. Puzzles have been solved, target caches listed, spare caches ready we are to get a Leap Day fizzy grid in SA. 7 Cachers checkToTTs checkCold drinks checkEnough time hopefully. All logs were signed or stamped with the G-Crew name to save time and space in the logs.Thank you all the CO's for the contributions and ongoing maintenance. We had a very tiring caching party. Sorry for the generic log but with 100+ logs to write I'll never catch up if I don't, my logs have been at 8 months unloved so have had plenty to catch up on.
I took my first ever trip on a plane to Adelaide to cache with G-Crew (BFMC, Bushfire, Dromaniax, Jtreetrack2, Quickhealer2 and SimsFamily) for a mega leap day adventure. After months of planning and puzzle solving we hired a minivan and set off on a mission to find as many caches as we could on our leap day adventure with the main goal of completing a Dt loop in a day. We started off by working our way down to Victor Harbour via the coast, then worked our way back to Adelaide via the inland route chasing different types, sizes, JASMER's, unusal D/T's, earthcaches, virtuals and more. Thanks to all the CO's who have placed and maintained all of the caches we found on this trip, I had a great time.
Leap Day caching with Kolour. After some city caching this morning we headed further afield to make sure we collected everything we needed. Cache quickly found, log signed, all replaced as found. TFTC Liz & Bruce.
After 16 years of caching the time has come to tick off a mega. After arriving late last night into Adelaide I was up early with a mission to collect as many cache types as were available today. I headed into town before the event in the hope to pick up the web cam caches and a sprinkling of others to set me up for the rest of the day. Finding a safe place to park I was soon at ground zero and the prize was quickly obtained. Now off to enjoy more of what Adelaide has to offer and tick a few boxes along the way.A big thanks to the cache owner for making this available to be found.Cheers
Rode my bike to water garden for a friend??found myself carrying my bike upstairs on the way across the bridge. No wonder google wasnt taking me this way to Severn st. Took a different way back and found this cache. Thanks for the cache. Pretty hot!
Im visiting Adelaide for the first time, here for the Mega which is also my first, with Willis007. Its always fun to find old caches, so we noticed this one and made our way here. Cache quickly found but it was a bit tricky to extract, but got there. Tftc
The G-Crew (BFMC, Bushfire, Dromaniax, JTreeTrack2, Neville_devil, Quickhealer2 and Sims-family) have descended on Adelaide with some seriously lofty caching goals as our sole objective, to be achieved at the expense of almost everything else (including sleep). With a minivan loaded with Cachers & TOTT, hopefully, time is the only thing that stands in our way. With 2024 presenting us with a leap day, we have decided to target as many of Project-GCs Leap Day badge extensions as possible, with the primary objective of completing a fizzy grid in a day. South Australia became the logical choice due to the Mega event and the fertile, largely uncached grounds it provides for our team. Many months of planning and puzzle-solving (from simple to downright diabolical) have gone into this trip. Our selected matrix has evolved over time to account for other ongoing objectives. Fortunately, BFMC had a list of solved caches that gave a great starting point for our assault, but the many, many hours and many more group chat messages since we started planning this in 2023 have brought us to this point. All physical caches were either stamped or signed as G-CREW to save both time and log space. Thanks to all the COs who have placed and maintained these caches!Thank you, Liz and Bruce, for this Traditional cache.
What an amazing adventure through Adelaide. This was my first time to Adelaide and we had a very long day driving and grabbing as many caches as possible. Our very lofty goal, completing a full D/t Matrix on a leap day.Apologies for the generic log, but with so many caches we got today, we didnt have much time to log them as we grabbed them.We had no issues with any containers or hides, and all were in good condition, and well maintained.I was part of G-Crew as we tackled our list, we hired a seven seater van and drove all around Adelaide. The members of our hunt were Dromaniax, BFMC, and JTreeTrack2 who did their fair share of driving and route planning, Sims_family who was on recon and puzzle solving, Neville_devil our fearless high altitude cacher, and myself Quickhealer2.We have been planning this adventure for about 10 weeks, puzzle solving, route planning, and it all came down to the big day and we did so much.I was very lucky to be invited into G-Crew, and with all of our skills and strengths we got our task doneEach log was signed or stamped G-Crew, and I thank all the CO's for maintaining their caches through the chaos of this Mega eventthanks again for the adventureQuickhealer2
TFTC! 29 February 2024 6:48:54pm 7503 thanks to Liz and Bruce for the cache! Off to the Great Leap Year Mega in Adelaide. A stop off along the way! This was a target this afternoon before. Heading to the side event. Its a golden oldie! Really lovely place! Had to walk across the bridge just because!
Well the big day is here, we are finally in Adelaide after weeks of planning . The G-Crew (BFMC, Bushfire, Dromaniax, JTreeTrack2, Neville_devil, Quickhealer2 and Sims-family) has some pretty intense goals that requires a very long day and no sleep to achieve. The last few weeks the message group has been awash with many many messages as we worked though all the puzzles in order to achieve our main goal of a full D/T loop in a day.We loaded the Hyundai Staria (Was meant to be a KIA Carnival, Not an upgrade ) with all the ToTTs we though or hoped we would need in order to achieve our goals. All logs were signed or stamped with the G-Crew name to safe time and space in the logs.Thank you all the CO's for the contributions and ongoing maintenance. We had a blast and sorry for the generic log but with so many logs to write I'll never catch up if I don't.
According to Google I have lived for 22 leap years + but how many more we do not know but the SA Leap Forward Mega has been and gone and what a great event. Our very lofty goal, completing a full D/T Matrix on a leap day. The G-Crew (BFMC, Bushfire, Dromaniax, JTreeTrack2, Neville_Devil, Quickhealer2 and Sims-family) have descended on Adelaide with some seriously caching goals as our sole objective, to be achieved at the expense of almost everything else (including sleep). We have to say a great big thanks to all the cache owners for looking after these caches for us to find. The hire cars had a big work out with all the gear and TOOLS that we thought we may require. We have decided to target as many of Project-GCs Leap Day badge extensions as possible, with the primary objective of completing a fizzy grid in a day.One of my first Megas was in SA in I think 2014 ( Murray Bridge) but as there, just so many caches of most D/T combos it made sense to target this Mega. We had a list of solved caches that gave a great starting point for our assault but distance was also a problem but I think we made our objective irrespective a great time was had even if we do not make our objective. Thanks to all the S.A. cachers for placing these caches and keeping them on the playing field.
Hi Liz and Bruce, We found your 1.5 1.5 Small Traditional Have a Swinging Time on 29/2/2024.Find 2762 for BFMC.Another early bird to tick off an empty box on the jasmer list, with a bit of luck hopefully I will have filled half a dizen or so by the end of the trip that I either cant get at home in Victoria, or have to travel many hours to regional towns for.The G-Crew have descended on Adelaide with some seriously lofty caching goals as our sole objective, to be achieved at the expense of almost everything else (including sleep). With a minivan loaded with Cachers & TOTTs hopefully time is the only thing that stands in our wayWith 2024 presenting us with a leap day, we have decided to target as many of project-gcs Leap Day badge extensions as possible, with the primary objective of completing a fizzy grid in a day. Our selected matrix has evolved over time to account for other ongoing objectives. Fortunately, I had a reasonable list of solved but unfound puzzles from my last trip to the Tour Down Under a few years ago but the many, many hours, and many more group chat messages since we started planning this in 2023 have brought us to this point. All physical caches were either stamped or signed as G-CREW to save both time and log space. Thanks to all the COs who have placed and maintained these caches!

6 months ago, during a frenzy, we said to ourselves "why not going to the mega in Adelaide for the leapday". From scratch we moved on to preparing an 18-day project in Australia. Our objectives are simple, visit a small part of this immense continent while validating a few caches. There are so many caches (impossible to do everything) that we will select. Our plan will allow us to visit Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Mount Gambier and finish in Adelaide for the famous Mega.During our stay we will log PestiHoot for Pestinette and Blackhoot.During our 5 days in Adlade, we visited the centre and around while following the caches and labs. We resolved some mysteries before our trip. We made some great discoveries and great experiences. Thanks to the caches we visited many sites evoking Australian culture and history. Thanks for the cache and the discovery of beautiful or original spots
In Adelaide for The Great Leap Forward (Mega-Event)I found your cache, Have a Swinging Time today. This is my 2847 find.Having a girlie trip with Duppers and At The Lake House. Signed as Saddle club to save room in the logbook.Liz and Bruce, TFTC, TFTH & TFTSF
Came into the CBD for lunch and had a few old dates on my list to grab while I was here.Love the swinging bridge. Why do people always insist on jumping on these? Havent they seen Indiana Jones? To grab the cache I was worried a muggle at the picnic table was going to be problematic but she was happy to mind her own business and I as quietly and quickly as I could retrieved and replaced the cache. She might have been a little hard of hearing because I sounded like an elephant walking through the leaf litter. TFTC
While Shazzar66 and AtTheLakeHouse were having a swinging time, I made myself useful and headed towards GZ. Although there was a muggle nearby, she was reading her book and paid no attention whatsoever. After a short while, my partners in crime arrived at GZ and we commenced looking. I had a slightly different idea of where to look, and shortly after, the cache was at hand. The log was signed with our temporary team name: SADLLE Club. Thanks, Liz and Bruce, for the cache here. Another Oldie to tick off our list. Cheers. From Brisbane
Day #6 Leaping Forward AdventuresI made it to Adelaide, finally! Today I teamed up with Posums to tick off some of his missing LGAs and find some local caches. We swung by here for a chance to find a classic oldie! I went to one level, Posums went to another. Posums won! Thanks Liz and Bruce for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy. ----------------------------------------------------------The Ballarat GeoTour ends on 4 March 2024! Be sure to find all the caches and earn the souvenir before the tour is archived. The [Farewell Ballarat GeoTour Event - GCAFQ8B](https://coord.info/GCAFQ8B) is on 18 February 2024.Looking for caches to find when visiting Victoria? Why not check out the geocaching lists available on the [Geocaching Victoria Website](https://geocachingvictoria.com.au/information/great-caching-lists/). There are plenty to choose from including all of the previous nominees and winners of the Victorian Cache of the Year Awards.
Well after a whirl wind tour of Tasmania to help with 3 challenges that Im working on, I got back in late Tuesday night then packed the Geowagon and headed off to SA early Wednesday morning to attend the Leap Year Mega and to also tick off some LGAs along the way as well.Well after crossing the border the other day and staying in Millicent, Wellington, Cape Jervis, Kingscote and Im now in Adelaide for a week.Well it is the start of Mega week for me and lets see how I go.I met up with Roaming Howie for the day again (he must be a sucker for punishment) and the main target for the day is LGAs for me and anything else on his list.Just touring the suburbs as we go.This was one of the oldies that Howie had on his list to do and as we were in the area off we went.We found somewhere to park the GeoRanger and off we went in search of this one.We added our names to the log and now to get to the next one and the next one and the next one. Thanks Liz and Bruce TFTC.
GC2EA0 Have a Swinging TimeDown in Adelaide from Brisbane for the leap year mega. After arriving today we headed north east to our accommodation in Waikerie grabbing caches along the way.Signed as BOLD 7 to save space in the log. Thanks for keeping this oldie alive. TFTC Liz and Bruce
The BOLD07 had a relatively late night following the Glenelg sunset event. Our hunters were sent out for fodder and with the tummys full off we go to check out a few caches on our way north east of Adelaide. This was earmarked as it involves swinging and oldies, a novel idea and one I'm fast approaching. Thanks Liz and Bruce for keeping this oldie active and out of the nursing home.
How very exciting the big trip has finally arrived! Down from Brisbane with a host of other geo friends with plans aplenty, enough to almost see us needing to extend or make a return visit. Our geonick for the trip is BOLD7 which is guaranteed to save the log paper for the 7 individual members of the team. As we make our way around sadly there wont be time for the usual individual logs and therefore just the old generic log will have to do. With little extra notes here and there if needed. Thank you for your cache which has added to my wonderful caching holiday.
With our group BOLD7 entertaining ourselves as we head north to expire the country. Fab day collecting all sorts including some well preserved oldies. Thanks to the SA cachers for awesome variety of caches.
Great to find another oldie while on the way up north for some geoart in our leap mega caching week. The swinging bridge is awesome.Signed with BOLD7. This is find 2222!
Thanks very much OzGuff for the maintenance on this one!Found as per the instructions.TFTC!
Its alive!!!I was taking a stroll along the river, Torrens, trying to find a few geocaches along the way. I added this one fairly late, and really didnt think I had a chance. But looked around, and find it in a spot that it wasnt probably supposed to be. Ill replace it somewhere and give specific instructions on how to find it
The container is now located, almost 2 meters below the sign shown in the attached photo.
Unfortunately came up empty handed today. Lots of long grass and snake likely territory. Thanks anyway Liz and Bruce.
My car was making a funny noise that I've never heard, so I was tossing up between letting the engine sit overnight or taking it for a spin to see what happens.
I decided to take it for a drive because then I can find caches!
Unfortunately lots of muggles present and wildlife is scurrying around in the bushes and I don't want to step on anything!
I'm not sure what elevation I'm supposed to be at.
Nice to at least try an older one. I was only 8 months old when this one was hidden.
I shall return!

Karicka wanted a find in this LGA and I spotted this oldie on the map so we killed two birds with one stone. Thanks for the cache
Having a productive geocaching weekend in SA in the good company of Beardman75 and Georode.
BM75 found a cache that would meet both of our wishes.
Soon made the find and could leave the LGA agin.
Thank you for the hiding, this is what makes the game work!
Happy caching

Spent a week in Adelaide. Thanks to all the Cache Owners for their contributions to this recreational activity.
Searched high and then low. I spotted a familiar shape on my way back up. Reached in from the top and put my hand on the cache. TFTC

Just moved into the area and thought it was time to see what was around the place. Wasn't disappointed with the bridge and surrounding park areas! TFTC
Nice hide with a great view along with it! Found this one, years ago on my old account before it went to a premium cache. Can not believe this cache is older than me!! TFTC Liz and Bruce
Been on my list of -to do- caches for almost as long as I have been caching. And a trip west from Melbourne made this a possibility. Quick hunt at Gz and a smiley ensued, just as the rain started. Tftc
Wow what a great weekend I just had; a very nice weekend trip to Adelaide with the family and I got to meet a few cachers as well. Absolutely enjoyed Adelaide, the walk around town, the people, the laid-back environment, the layout of the area, the friendly cachers and the great caches too.
Day two of my trip and I was allowed to go out on my own for the day and cache away. I set myself a list and I wondered around down towards rundle mall, grabbing adventure labs, earth caches and anything along the way. Some nice hides and some fun ones. Some strange looks from passes by at points but no one stopped me at all. Adelaide is definitely a place I want to come back and visit again.
I got a call from James who asked how I was going and if I would like some company for the day. Why not, and with a drive around town we got in some caches that he also needed for the day. We went up to North Adelaide and the skirted around the parklands of Adelaide. I then was dropped off so as I could make my dinner appointment with the family. Thanks for the great afternoon James.
This was our next cache. we had searched high and low around for this one and due to its age I was not giving up. A search through some older logs and at some pics and I soon had a hint. Ok a walk around and sure enough there was the cache, nicely tucked away. I was soooo happy to get this one; I could not go to Adelaide and not claim a find on a Liz and Bruce cache, tick. With the log signed and cache replaced as found, we were then off to grab another in the area. Thanks for placing it here and the continuing maintenance.

Enjoyed the walk over the bridge and back. A quick find at GZ.
Thanks Liz and Bruce.
The Millicent Mega trip had been a long time in the making, for the Tassie trio of stainless steel rat, budgietas and gooseandegg, due to a couple of false starts thanks to COVID19. More and more caches were added to the extensive list as planning was being finalized. We focused on old caches, large caches, certain D/Ts, virtual caches, the On your Bike series and a few other special ones on our journey. Our route saw us caching in Adelaide for a few days before heading north via Gawler to the Barossa in preparation for the On your Bike series, whilst basing ourselves at a gorgeous cottage in Waikerie. We continued on to Renmark for a night before the long trek south to Millicent.
Some of the many highlights along the way were Gawler Fort Knox, Dustin’s Cache, Barossa High and Riverland (the oldest surviving geocache in South Australia).
At the Mega we caught up with a few of our caching friends, made some new ones, and of course missed many who could not make it this time. The weather was not the best in Millicent, and a COVID19 situation in Mt Gambier altered our plans but we had plenty of caches to keep us busy between showers, including tree climbs, plenty of adventure labs, and the entertaining Finding a Fish series - giving the new pole a good workout for the first time.
Thanks to all the CO’s who have placed and maintained all these caches that made our adventure so memorable.
Thanks Liz and Bruce.

Found this cache while touring around north of Adelaide, the targets being high D/T caches
We had to get this cache while in the North of Adelaide, as it is fairly old and hidden by royalty..... TFTC

Early in 2021 I received an invite from GoosenEgg and Stainless Steel Rat to join them on a caching trip to the Mega in South Australia. As planning got underway some caches with high Favorite points, very old caches, and the On Your Bike Series were listed as "must-dos"
The trip ended up being 10 days of solid and very enjoyable caching with quite a few highlights. The find count for the trip was around the 950 mark when all GCA, Adventure Lab, and GC caches are included. The high point for finds was a day of 335 finds in the one day, which would have been more, but a sudden storm put the end to caching for the day. No one was interested in getting out of the car to find a cache in a downpour in the dark
We were lucky enough to find Gawler Fort Knox, Dustin's Cache, and my favorite for the trip Barossa High (From 21st of January 2001 with the original log book still in place) all in the one day.
Unfortunately, the caching around the mega was beset by bad weather and the day we had put aside for Mount Gambier was scrapped due to a covid case in Mount Gambier on the previous day, so we avoided the area. We all enjoyed the Fishing series and just managed to get the remaining of these before the light failed for the day.
In the end I managed to completed my D/T grid for the first (and possibly the second time) which was my aim for the year, although some of the D/T combinations were not really achievable in Tasmania without a 3 day overnight bush walk.
