Out and about enjoying the hidden gems of our country. On a weekend out with DownSouthInv, AnnieLin, AbbyKitt aka DAFA
Crunched numbers up whilst looking for other multis and an adlab or 2.Walked out down in a beautiful days walkies today
Needed to do some creative thinking as the signpost now has different places on it but there was another one from Japan that worked also. At the bunker the sign has been vandalised but the answer can be read just. A good way to spend a couple of hours in the great outdoors TFTC
Cache 1677 had slowly over time collected the needed information for this one and have had the final coordinates plugged in for well over a year, but I had been keeping this as a just in case cache and today it was needed. For to challenges 1) March spelling challenge and 2) Multi Mondays. Lovely walk as always around the point for a very quick find at GZ. Cache in good shape T4TM
First person to find in over a year! Once I got to the final location it was easy to locate, thank you. I found the waypoints at the summit offset quite a bit, but I managed to guess which info board was being referred to. This was a great motivation to walk the loop - the drizzle stopped and the sun came out
My second attempt/visit. Dog island lighthouse was the issue. Different info and the cacher in me didn't like any of the info. It did not make caching sense. I put a sensible figure and went there for a quick find. Great day. Thanks
Out and about to see how far I can get this month's mountain...
I'd visited most of the way point before today, but revisited those to check. Coords looked reasonable, but lots of muggles around. So I continued both up for a field puzzle the along for a trad. By the time I headed back there were no muggles in sight. Checked the last number at the last waypoints, then back to the calculated GZ where the container was soon in hand.
Thanks for the cache tokalosh

Bit of a drizzly day but enjoying a walk through from Ocean point. Got the waypoint for this one last time, to discover it was behind me.
Had this on my must finsh off list before i set off on my big adventure.
So seeing it was on the trail I decided to walk it down.
So where to start after a bit of a think ,the only logical thing to do was start at the top and head in a southerly direction to get to the cache .
So to the top I went all the way to Cape Reinga, and after a bit of a walk (2885 km)to be exact and the odd bump or two... (100km of vertical up ) and later i soon had the gz in my sites. It's been an amazing walk to pick up this cache . My 3000 km though hike of nz has been an amazing adventure just loved every day and every step.
The rain held off and I got spectacular 360 dge views and in the distance haze was Stewart Island.
A quick search soon had the goods in hand.
I quickly signed the log and back on my way as I was trying to beat the rain .
It ended up being a big day well over 45km so Colac Bay was in my sites and only 2 hr of rain so over the moon not to be soaked.
A hot shower and blue cod and chips was a fitting end to the day .
After the last climb I just had to put the last few km in to the end of my epic adventure.
Finally I am back on the main land , feels good to back in the south island.
And now getting closer to home and fimiler places. Otago is in my sites.
Living life one foot step at a time as i walk from cape reinga to bluff and caching my way home as I walk the
Te Araroa and discover the hidden treasures new Zealand has to offer.
From the beachs of the north to the forest and lakes and the odd bump of the south
Blùff here i come

Great fun working out this one, albeit not entirely as intended! Reasonably quick find, but I agree with the previous finder that stomping over vegetation is not ideal. And the WIND today!!! TFTC!!
Wasn't too confident about this one. Especially as had to go off piste. Don't like doing that in thus kind of area. There is already a small trail developing.
Worked the puzzle out at home - it can no longer be done entirely from the waypoints since the Stirling Point signpost has changed, replacing Tokyo with Kumagawa. There are plenty of photos of the old signpost online, luckily. A small problem with the Dog Island lighthouse- two different heights on various signs and sites- well GZ has to be on land! Went past the calculated GZ on the standard loop, followed a bit of a geotrail, a bit of circling but 12 m downhill from GZ there was a nice hint spot and a lovely dry cache. Great spot for it and a really enjoyable walk.
Found after a wee bit of climbing wasn't too much fun with active puppa on lead pulling me downhill. Nice TB discovery tftc

The coors were rather clear from the beginning, so it was a pleasant walk to the final. Quick find.

Quickly solved this multi and the walk was only about 40 minutes each way as well . Forgot any dimp as the the sand flies were big and hungry today- but still I really enjoyed my second trip out this way and was able also to tick a dnf from my first visit to these parts when I first started geocaching
We are so lucky to live in this part of the world - it is beautiful
Lots of tuis today enjoying the flax full of flowers

I'm from Norway, escaping the cold winter and travelling around New Zealand for 7 weeks, using geocaching as my tourguide.
Today I drove from Invercargill to Queenstown. I took a detour via Bluff and did the 3 hour loop-walk there, before continuing along the coast to find the 2 old virtual caches. A beautiful sunny day.
About this cache:
I wasn't planning to find this cache, but when I got to Bluff Hill and the weather was so good, I decided to do this walk. All the answers were easy to locate and calculate, and the final was also an easy find. I love multi-caches like these, I really enjoyed doing this 3 hour-walk along the southern coastline of New Zealand. This one will get a favouritepoint. Tftc

Fourth find today with one of the cachelettes - the other returned to Stirling Point with the Grandies (CalderClan2) to find a fluffy and coffee! Really pleased to have found this!
Found during a nice walk around Bluff Hill. Answers could be easily found at the waypoints and the final cache also be found quickly.
The cache will be most likely my southernmost found.
Thanks for the cache.
Greetings from Germany.

souřadnice jsem vypočítal hned, stačí trochu logiky... ale stejně jsme se prošli dokola, takže to vyšlo nastejno
kdyby nefoukal silný vítr a nepadaly kroupy, tak by to byla skvělá procházka

The views along the coast are lovely and we were lucky that no one else had come as far as this on the walkway or they would have wondered what we were doing. Found with debsnz
We'd gathered most of the information during a visit to Bluff a couple of months ago and we took advantace of a lovely, calm day on this return visit. Co-ords spot on for us. Found with AorakiSheep
Had worked the co ordinates out quite sometime ago. Road trip today with Mr&MrsChosen, Searchwisely, Tuitiggler & Granville. With frost still on the track & the sun hitting the track in places was a brisk walk to the final. Picked up TB which barely got into cache. TFTP Great team effort.
Third times a charm... Decided to make the most of a lovely crisp winters day and walk the track, had done the leg work previously, but misplaced silly me... Was a lovely walk out to the GZ with a great group of cachers. The cache was located and the log signed a TB was placed in the cache and just as quick was picked up by another... Cache replaced and it was off to the point for a sweet treat and rest while enjoying the stunning views along the coast and across the straight to Stewart Island. One of Mrs favourite places, thanks for bringing us out here and for a great multi
Found with the chosens, tuitigger, searchwisely and mrs hazzer on a beautiful sunny day. Worked out all waypoints and made the trek out to the point. Good hide. Dropped off tb
A beautiful day for a bunch of us to go for a walk, I haven't been this far around - what breathtaking views! TFTC
Cache eventually found by DD having visited the waypoints and done our calculations. One question seemed to have different answers depending where we looked, but geologic prevailed thankfully and so after a delightful walk we have earned our smiley here! This is also day 9 of our mission to find a multi for 10 consecutive days to qualify for a challenge cache further into our travels, so one more dat to go! Many thanks
Travelling around the world with Dartmoor Deliverer to help her celebrate taking early retirement!
NB Dont forget our Devon UK Mega 2017 GC6JZNY this August in the beautiful East Devon area of our county. UK Megas are over one week full of events and geocaching - a wonderful way to enjoy our county!

On a trip across the globe, with Red Roaming, to celebrate my early retirement but I have to return to work though. We are here in NZ for 6 more weeks. yippee. Log signed with our full caching names. What an interesting multi. We did have a problem with D but followed our instincts and the cache was soon found by me. MTFTC
Big day planned taking the trails and finding a few boxes. Found a good park and followed the coast around to pick up the cache. Was an easy solve with some help. SL TFTC
No spadework required for this multi, solved from armchair. Luv it when a plan comes together; as my solution and CO's co'ods were spot on!! TFTMC Tokolosh, ticked off the owners' second-last Southland cache. (Otago 2 are a miss) The con is in tiptop condition and swapped out a few things. Placed in it's hide upright, wedged in to keep the weather out.
Last big walk with my mom before she fell ill. Thanks for bringing me back here.
Please would someone fix Open Season (Southland) Even if it's still Archived, the leg work's still in play, only the final needs fixed (or found??)

Great day meeting captains at my first CITO event and discovering several new caches to boot at Oreti Beach. Dropping a TB into this cache for the next finder to travel on after attaining many of the Southern caches.
Drove up Bluff Hill for a look and get those waypoints, then parked at Stirling Point and walked from there. Had a good lunch at the picnic table and found the cache too. TFTC
Very windy up on Bluff Hill getting waypoints needed to do this cache. After a leisurely stroll with Kellboy13 and Kryshan we soon had cache in hand. Enjoyed a snack and then continued our journey. TFTC
A nice day out in Bluff, thanks for the cache. It will be my southernmost found cache until my trip to Stewart Island in January!
After visiting several spots to gather info did a quick down the track to the rocky point then finding the right rock was pretty dead on. TFTC. Then on to Konini and then back up the hill track.
A nice challenging multi with much relief when we located the cache at our GZ. A very pleasant summers day at Bluff today we could not have wished for anything better. TFTC
Many Thanks for all the caches and maintaining them, been a great trip down south so far.

TFTC always nervous when there is quite an effort walking in of not finding these ones....
A great day for a walk up and around Bluff Hill. Beautiful day and the strait looked like a mill pond. Picked up TB. TFTC
Did the spadework for this multi some weeks ago.Accessed via Millenium track and combined with Konini today. Slow walk back uphill for me.Great caches. TFTC
While we come from a country with a lot of wind, the Bluff today hugely impressed us: we had to hang on to our hats and glasses on the top and the track down.
Parked at Stirling Point we opted for the uphill route. What started as a moderate clmb, things got a little steep as we progressed. Once on the top, it was hard to stay on our feet and at the geodetic marker, we were almost blown out of our socks. It wasn't too pleasant.
Hiding for the storm, we puzzeled together the cache coordinates and headed down.
The looks of the ocean worried us: not for today but for tomorrow. We're scheduled for Stewart Island. It will be a bumpy ride.
Finding the cache was not too difficult. The coordinates were bang on.
We left behind our signatue item, the Delft Blue clogs as well as the Fiddler Travel bug.
Once the cache was replaced, we quickly went our way to a well deserved meal at the Drunken Sailor.

We did this one after doing Konini in the early morning. We had to wait for a bus load of Dutch tourists to head back to their bus before finding this. The walk back up Bluff hill served to show how unfit we are. Nice multi, TFTC
Not possessing the same reserves of stamina as the jojoes, we decided it would be easier to solve the puzzle first. We debated whether to go the longer flatter route from from Stirling Point or the shorter steeper route from Bluff Hill lookout. We, perhaps unwisely, opted for the latter, as we hadn't been on the Millenium Track before. We checked the waypoints at the top before heading down, and down and down! The cache was an easy find when we reached it.

This is one of our favorite runs, though we usually gothe other way round. One could be lazy, solve the puzzle and go straight to GZ but badly needing a run we went all the way round. At a modest running speed the loop takes about 45 min. Many thanks.
An awesome Multi around one of the South's most beautiful and rugged spots. It took us about 2.5 hours to complete the information gathering and find the final cache. We struggled with some of the co-ordinates for the clues and at the final but after spending a couple of minutes recalibrating the compass in the Garmin, we found the finals co-ordinates were bang on. We didn't add or subtract from the cache, just admired the views. TFTC, this one is a beaut. [^]
I love your caches Tokalosh! This was another great one. TFTC!
My friend and I managed to walk the round trip in about 2 & 1/2 to 3 hours - both of us are pretty fit. Cache was easy to find and good sized.

A nice calm day for doing this multi. Have done this walk many times before and this time the bonus of having a cache to pick up.TFTC
Yay! FTF. And on our seventh wedding anniversary. It took us four hours including the walk back to the car from the cache. We did take a wrong turn though and ended up going along the wrong track for 40 minutes and having to turn around and go back. It was a blusteringly windy day but we seemed to be sheltered for much of the way. We really enjoyed the exercise!
