The last leg of our journey on our 2nd tiki tour in NZ heading from Kaikora down to ChCh grabbing a few caches as we went.We hadn't planned on funding this as it was in the other side of the road, however traffic lights and halted traffic meant we could nip in, make the find and back into the queue Without any bother TFTC Tim and Viv - ddm
Taking a break in the 34 degree heat. Listening to the bellbirds. Lovely spot. Found with Piwaka54. TFTC

#12,467. After a fun week in Christchurch doing a lot of caching it was time today to drive north to Picton to catch the 6pm ferry. I decided to stop first at Cheviot for some lunch then do a few along the road from there to Kaikoura. Easy parking at this spot so made for a quick find. Thanks b&w for the cache.
Summer Geocaching Road Trip - Day 1 - Christchurch to Picton. It's been a while since I've been off on a road trip and this one has been on the cards for quite a while. I plan to visit some parts of the country where I've done very little caching before and hope to complete the qualification for a challenge cache in Nelson. Wow. Nearly 12 years since I DNF'd this cache I can finally turn a frown to a smile. All good here. TFTC, Biggles.
Our getaway from Christchurch was delayed a bit, so not many caches on the way home.
A quick find, the second of 3 on the way home to Marlborough.

Second find of the day & a very quick park & grab! RNZ was all over this even before I got out of the truck
Heading back to Boomtown today after a lovely Easter weekend with RNZ's family in Christchurch. Just 3 quick stops on the way home because we left ChCh a little later than planned.

Muggles here earlier so we didn't stop to look for the cache. Stopped on way back to caravan and had a really good look. No cache to be found and as the CO has okayed us to replace some of his caches, we dropped a new one into place. tftc
Time to start heading home after a great weekend exploring the kaikoura area grabbing caches along the way..

Found with NZDi. It is Waitangi Weekend and NZDi decides she wants to spend a few days in Christchurch to do some retail therapy. A couple of our grandchildren have birthdays coming up and she can't find anything suitable in the local stores in Blenheim and is hoping the big city has a better selection. The plan is to travel south on Friday caching along SH 1, do the shopping on Saturday morning and cache out at the McLeans Island MTB park in the afternoon, then head home on Sunday with a detour to cache the K2R- Passchendaele Memorial Path between Kaiapoi and Rangiora (I guess that is what K2R stands for). Throughout the weekend we dated and signed our logs in full, as KM + ND or a combination of both depending on the room available on the sheet/book.
Today is day one of the trip and having pretty much cached out SH 1 between Blenheim and Kaikoura, our aim is to attempt to do the same between Kaikoura and Christchurch. This is our thirteenth cache of the day in our attempt to turn SH 1 from a trail of green into a trail of yellow. I'm sure we have stopped here before and had an unlogged DNF, but today it was a diferent story with a QEF PnG.

At an obligatory sore tummy rest I, pulled out the GPS and saw there was a cache 7 m away. Might as well find and log that one.
Cache is no longer a snap lock container. You are looking for an eclipse mint tin.
.Heading back from Claverly but time to stop off here on our return journey. Search party was out here but no joy. Arranged a temp replacement cache tucked in the metal thing. Cheers
Out with the Seagnoid, in the Seagnoid Mobile today, to Kaikoura and beyond, for another great road trip on a lovely sunny day.

We left Feilding n.z nearly two weeks ago and went from picton to reefton over Arthur's pass which we really enjoyed then Christchurch for a couple of days to get a trail done and of course some other caches along the way so far we have managed to get over 300 caches a great effort we thought we would try and average 20 a day.
Now we are getting this cache a nice area to discover a cache stamped the log and placed it back where we found it thank you for placing a cache here and bringing us to this location. Cache is all good here tftc love exploring reserves

Found whilst on our holiday to Australia & New Zealand.
After the disappointment of a cancelled Whale Watch trip, we were making our way back to Christchurch.
The drive from Kaikoura through the mountains and seeing all of the roadworks taking place was staggering. You certainly had to concentrate as the weather wasn't great.
Once through the worst of it, we made a quick stop here. I had a quick look to see if there were any caches here, not expecting there to be any and there was.
We were practically parked on top of it, but when I went off in search I was drawing a blank. After a while I was beginning to think this was going to be a DNF when Swansbrook71 revealed the craftily hidden cache. STL and returned as found.
Found with Swansbrook71. TFTC!

Heading up to Kaikoura for the weekend and collecting a few caches along the way in between showers. Thanks to all the COs for placing these caches.
A quick, easy find on a caching trip to Kaikoura with busy paws. Cache just whee we thought it would be now. Many thanks, b&w. #3465
Heard the bellbird as soon as we got out of the car. Left a travel bug. Thanks for the cache
Heading north on our first grand family road trip. The plan was to head north to Auckland and then tiki tour our way back to Christchurch. Quick stop to grab a cache here.

20 January 2018 16:55. Another cache with a story.... Was heading towards this one and looking where to pull in when I spotted a couple of people and their car, with it's bonnet up, peering at the engine. Apparently it was a lovingly restored Holden Kingswood, which they'd just bought in Christchurch that day and they were intending to drive north to Auckland when it had broken down here!
No garages open in Kaikoura on a Saturday afternoon, and the closest towing company they could find was in Christchurch, and they wanted $800 to come out and tow it back to where they'd just come from! t I offered them a lift to Kaikoura (once I had found the cache). Whilst I was doing this (I needed to work my way around the temporary barriers), they managed to find the fault (a wire was too close to something hot and had melted), and rectified it using some spare wire and tape (very McGyver like), and even managed to get it started again! So, fortunately my offer of a lift wash't necessary, but I did follow them all the way to Kaikoura in case they broke down again.
So TFTC with a few different memories....

One of my fav ways of spending a weekend day - jump into the car with a direction in mind, stopping for caches along the way, enjoying the journey. This time I piled a couple of 'kids' into the car also, and we headed to Kaikoura making the most of the road being open for the weekend and not that much traffic thanks to the Picton detour still in place. Needless to say that we never made it as far as Kaikoura, although we leaft early enough and got quite close. Try explaining that on a monday at work - where did you go over the weekend? Well, Kaikoura, but we did not quite make it there. Oh, is the road still so bad? LOL!
Nice spot and a quick find, TFTC!!

What an experience it has been caching in Kaikoura, every way you turned it was either mountain or sea scenery. We learnt so much abour the earthquake you had here last year,

I made a quick stop here on my way to Claverley. A nice quiet little spot. Tftc.
Stopped off here in the van for a cuppa on our way north. Dropped off TB. TFTC
Fourth stop on a cruisey trip home after a weekend meeting in Chch. Nice easy find in the rain. Not too much traffic despite it being school holidays, although I got a few odd looks... probably mostly for standing in the rain rather than 'suspicious behaviour'. TFTC
Quick find and sign , No one here today so had to stop after grabbing one up the road Thanx4tc
A good place to stop. We are on our way home and needed to stop. The picnic seat nearby is very cold to sit on. A bit chilly out today. Tftc.
Driving south from Picton to Parnassus today picking up a few caches along the way. There was a family just packing up after using the picnic table here as we drove in. Waited a couple of minutes for them to leave then made the find. Thanks.
Second day of Chelzea and I doing a weekend cache run through Hanmer to Blenheim through Molesworth Station, an overnight camp and then return along the main highway back to ChCh. A pretty intense weekend with over 120 caches found that most seem to blend together so reluctantly cut and paste logging. Had a great time finding many wonderful caches in a fair few cool spots worthy of the visit. Very few DNF's but will note anything interesting or wrong with individual caches. Thanks to all the cache owners.
Found a obvious rock but no luck. Rummaged round another 10 or so mins still no good. Next time maybe
Day 17 of my 24 day trip around the South Island.
I thank the owners for this cache and I wish also to other "treasure hunting" a lot of success.

On our way to Kaikoura we have been looking for some caches to strech our legs. That was one of it. Tftc.
A quick stop on the twisty drive north today
The cache was found safe 'n' sound and I popped "MiniMaxy's NZ Mega 2013 Geocoin" (or at least a copy thereof) in the cache

Mega trip to NZ: day 3, alone with my beloved squib. We wanted to drive to Kaikoura and find some caches on our way. Thanks for the fun and greetings from Finland.
On a geoholiday road tripping to Christchurch MEGA and around beautiful New Zealand. Our four people group (temyllyl, laalaa, kapeka and myself) from Finland used group tag FIN to log the caches.
Welcome to MEGA Finland in 5-7 august 2016!
After the Mega weekend we drove from Christchurch to Blenheim caching on the way. We saw many nice places and caches. Thanks for the cache!

We had fun with caching few weeks here in New Zealand. Lots of geocaches and many sort of them too. We saw awesome places, weather was pretty good all the time and people were friendly and polite. Caches were pretty similar like in our home country. Of course there were some exeptions. Nice and really scenary country!
Greetings from Finland

We flew over 20500 kilometers to get to New Zealand. [^] There in Queenstown we started our magnificent and unforgettable journey along the whole NZ. First we drove through south island and then the north island to Auckland. Altogether over 3000 kilometers by car and so many glorious and beautiful views, animals and plants we saw. [^] We fell in love with the country for life. Unfortunately we had only three weeks to spend for our holidays, but we really hope, we’ll be back.
Quick stop here, because we still hoped we could get FTF near Kaikoura (which we indeed got ) Soon was the cache localized and after that logged. Thanks for the cache and very many greetings from Finland.

Find #3813 a quick park and grab ,was amused that there is two cache containers there TFTC
Out for a day caching with Gullivers Travels54 from Christchurch north along the east coast to Kaikoura. Well this was an interesting stop, it turns out we may have found two containers here, not even 10cm apart. One which looked to be a replacement and one that was maybe the original. Signed the log in both and soon on the way again.

[green] At last I am on my way to the mega. Two weeks of insane caching in Christchurch. Looking at 7 Badgegen upgrades, a 200+ cache day and, of course, the Mega. But first I have to get there. It took me 9 hours to drive to Christchurch, pretty much what I expected, found 55 caches along the way.
Every rest area should have a cache. Looks like that actually might be the case in this part of the country
