I am regretfully archiving this cache since there's been no response from nor action by the cache owner within the time frame requested in the last reviewer note.

Hi bumandworker

This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).

I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.

Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache. If a month passes without seeing a response, then I'll assume that this listing should be archived.

Please note, that if a cache is archived due to lack of owner maintenance, the cache is unable to be unarchived.

We had a good search around but no luck. Has been a clean up in the area.

Unfortunately no cache to be found today. Tree pruning evident. Think it may have gone.

Could not finnd the cache. he GPS kept point me to a particular hide, that is very open and public - unlikely. Checked a number of similar hides out to 20 metres, nothing. I am not really confinced the page coordinates are corrrect, but then I am not convinced the cache is NOT here. I just don't know. Will watch...

03-Apr-18
A short diversion after a bit of breakfast, as we make our way towards catching the ferry today.
It was well worth the little diversion to see something a little different and interesting. Thanks for showing us this spot bumandworker.

We were enjoying the view on the cliffs, when I thought that there must be a cache here at this nice place. So I wandered around and checked the surroundings when there was something in my sight, that was very unnatural at this place Smile)))))
Found this cache without knowing that there is one. You can always count on caches at sightseeing spots Wink
Thanks for hiding it.

Found this one easy as it was just lying there. Signed the log and rehid it again with some bark. TFTC

15-Feb-18
Great view, thank you

10-Feb-18
Email from snapeboatman confirmed there is NOT a problem with the cache, being in correct position.

An unnecessary maintanenace trip avoided.

So often these days since G.C.com "upgraded" the log page with a great big button, every one thinks they have to hit it. Think of the cache owner who has to travel to the cache (may be from miles away) if you do....does that really need happen?

Enjoy the journey

09-Feb-18
Found it quite easily and as you say not a big step from the car park. TFTC

I am not sure this is the original cache location. It was lying in the open in a crook in a tree, it was certainly not camouflaged or hidden in any way. We put quite lot of bark over it so hope it stays more hidden.

My very ambitious goal is to clear out enough caches so that I only have 500 caches unfound within 80km of home by the time I go back to work from maternity leave.... but new publishing unfortunately makes that harder!! And with only one week till I return to work, and almost 600 caches within 80km, I don't think I'll find 100 more in that time, but may as well get close!
So today I took annual leave off motherhood, and hubby looked after baby, while mum & I went off geocaching!! Plan was to get the 30-odd caches within 80km of my home that were in a kind- of- bunch up north-ways.

We ended the day with 32 finds, and quite a lot of them had been unloved for months! But came home a little later than hubby was pleased with... oops! Haha I hope he lets me out next time too! Razz

Well, a look here, revealed that yes the cache was out of action. We decided to expand our search area, and look up to around 20m away, just to double check and be sure that it wasn't just a coords issue, but there was definitely no cache. With the road issue, we decided to see if there was anything in the car, and replaced the cache with a pill container that's now been blessed by the CO. We used the obvious cover bark that had been left at GZ so the hint still stands!

TFTC!! Smile

It's been a while since we went for a nice long day of caching with sonia26642, so we decided that it was time to do it! We started nice and early and headed up north to target mainly those neither of us has found, and some odd one one of us has. We had an amazing day of adventures!! We have been signing the logs mostly as Team Polak to save time and log book space Wink Thanks for all the great caches along the way!!!

14-Aug-17
Could be a wee while before we can check this given the current road situations.....it is on our list.
cheers b&w

Our recent multi day Canterbury cache raid was so successful we decided to have another one before the holidays finished. Again we got stabbed, prodded, pricked and scraped by the variety of hedges the region is so famous for. And of course we can now hold our breath a lot longer. A skill well worth developing to avoid breathing in part of the road surface every time a vehicle passes. Just over 200 finds were logged this time and a great time was had finding the caches with a variety of shapes, sizes and placements. A big thank you to all COs who made this possible.

28-Apr-16
With a few more days of holidays left we decided to head south again and find some caches we didn't have time to look for last week, plus some more off the beaten track. This was one of 51 found today.
Thank you to all CO's who made this possible.

Great spot for a cache. When I arrived we were the only ones there I spied the cache but couldn't get to start with as lots of cars suddenly turned up. Went back to the car to wait for some to leave then saw another cacher looking at the cache site. Signed log together

Found thanks to the 4 year old grand daughter though she wasn't very stealth like so we found with another cacher

This is where geocaching is really great-taking you to places you would otherwise have missed. We were on our way from Kaikoura to Christchurch and took the detour to Gore Bay where we had a walk along the totally deserted beach collecting little green stones. Then up and around to the view point-what amazing work the elements can do-it's a stunning area. Spent longer here than we expected but well worth it-thanks-a favourite point for the view!

A quick 24 hour trip away has been planned over the last couple of weeks and Greymouth was supposed to be the destination. Weather forecasts however were not looking too flash so late in the week we changed the booking and decided a night in CHCH was on the cards and let mrs capperz see the change from her last visit 8 years ago, how time flies! On the road at about 6.30 so able to avoid any of the potential traffic snarl ups and see the coast line in its early morning glory, nice. Over the weekend a little bit of caching diversity, plenty of wonderful places visited and a FTF to boot! Really windy day on Friday followed by drizzly rain on the Saturday but the explorers will prevail and sights will be seen, caches will be found!
We were enticed down the road to Gore Bay after some photos appeared on an F B page, those cathedral spire shapes looked awesome and a nice drive was enjoyed. Solved the 2 puzzles down here and grabbed a couple of traditional caches whilst in the area too, well worth turning off the main road to get here.
Awesome place for a cache, and an Earth cache nearby two, twice the fun

My eldest son, husband and I headed off on a campervan holiday before Xmas. Our first stop was Gore Bay. This geocache was in an easy to park area but the carpark was full. Thankfully most of the site seerers were on their way back to their cars. What a spectacular view.

Found it with Team FIN [janahola, kapeka, laalaa & temyllyl]

We had fun with caching few weeks here in New Zealand. Lots of geocaches and many sort of them too. We saw awesome places, weather was pretty good all the time and people were friendly and polite. Caches were pretty similar like in our home country. Of course there were some exeptions. Nice and really scenary country!

Greetings from Finland

We hadn't planned to come this way but were glad we did. Incredible formations that take no imagination to see how it got it's name. We seem to have struck a void in travellers and muggles in general today, we've hardly encountered a soul at cache locations. TFTC bumandworker, fav from us.

cache find #3793 We found the cache quickly and then took our time at the nearby earthcache. What beautiful views. TFTC.

19-Oct-15
Out for a day caching with Gullivers Travels54 from Christchurch north along the east coast to Kaikoura. The Earthcache nearby was one of the main reasons for the visit today, however it is not a stop if the cache nearby is not also found. Well we took care of that business without to much fuss, name in the log and all replaced before heading across to take a look at the amazing rock face not far away.

Is many years since I had been this way, took some great photos of the sea before making our way to visit the Cathedral limestones, they are quite amazing, found they was a cache at the lookout and soon had cache in hand, had a bite to eat before making our way home, great spot for a cache thanks
