Have a wedding gig up this way today and had to load in early - decided to kill the time doing some caching (as is often the case lol). Chose this one mainly for its unloved ..but as it turns out sometimes, not so much unloved by cachers but unloved by its CO. As is reported by recent hunters before me, the area has likely changed at GZ due to area being cleared. Good luck finding a cache here. Nice spot though! Other reason I suppose I chose this one is that myself and the guys in tonite's band are all Bill Chambers' band and I guess having a go at this one seemed fitting ha.

We cycled over here today just as it started sprinkling. We got Lucy Blanch's info, then we went over to Henry McPherson's grave. We did get some odd co-ordinates for John Bartlett's grave, which took us back to the plaque, but we wandered around a bit and found it in a totally different place. We got the information from his grave, and looked where it should have been, but the area seemed to have been cleared out. We gave up just as it started to rain.
To be honest I struggled a bit making sense of step one but eventually made it to step 3. Unfortunately we could not locate the cache but always enjoy old cemetery caches. Quite a unique coastal cemetery, an excellent spot.
Went through the whole schbang, only to walk away with a sense of this being one of the best cemetery locations in the country. Thanks all the same m
Not found while out here buying a used car. We found a nice variety of caches today, mostly nice bush walks or wonderful views. I was mostly trying to clear my fifty kilometer radius from home. I ended up finding nineteen of the twenty one I wanted to find. And only one DNF.
After BillHill531 left for his appointment I decided to find a couple on my own. I came out and worked out all the waypoints, but just could not locate the final. I'll be back with backup. One day.

Up here for the weekend with some mates. Got out early in the morning before the rest were properly awake to properly enjoy the day! Took me a little while to figure out properly what is going on, but reading previous logs, and taking the information (particularly the last bit) literally. Easy find eventually. TFTC!!!
After reading previous logs made the short cut and did the math and then had cache in hand. Very nice spot for a cemetery. TFTC
After reading the description and logs, and finding the instructions a little illogical, we searched for the good politician, found him, then went to work finding the cache, which was turned up a few minutes later. The cache is in bad condition, the log soaked to destruction, and not signable. We discarded it, and added a new ziplock and some dry paper, hopefully will keep this cache going for a little while longer?
I can't recall being at a cemetery anywhere with an outlook 1% on what this little one has....

Here in the bay to visit family for an extended Australia day weekend. My auntie remembers this cemetery when the graves were 25feet lower. They have to keep bringing the gravestones to the surface due to encroaching sand dunes. Not sure how the encroaching houses with deal with that situation . I like cemetery caches , helps to remember we only have a short time to do our thing so enjoy life right now Dont wait for retirement or someone to join you, get out and look around before you have missed out and you're in one of these places. Good view from here though. I too used previous logs rather than the cache clues to find the final resting place of this cache. Tftc
We have travelled up from Sydney to Port Stephens, camping at the Lemon Tree Passage Big4 Koala Shores caravan park, for our annual summer holiday. Today is the last full day of our holiday, so we decided to make the most of it and head over to Shoal Bay, Boat Harbour and Anna Bay for some sightseeing, bushwalking, and caching. This was the 11th find of the day, 57th find of the holiday.
After picking up a few caches along the NTSBPT (power trail) at Shoal Bay, we were on our way back to camp but decided to detour via Boat Harbour and Anna Bay to pick up a few extra caches.
After finding "Kingsley's Escape" at Boat Harbour we drove over to Anna Bay for this one. Parked the geomobile at the end of Pacific Avenue, right next to the cemetery, and walked up to WP1. The plaque was very difficult to read, due to sun exposure frosting, but we managed to find the required info and come up with some numbers.
Found the other graves but unfortunately the numbers we calculated for the final grave location had us in an unlikely part of the cemetery (no headstones, just lots of "pig face" ground cover plants). Rechecked everything but could not find where we had gone astray. So in the end we just wandered around the nice little cemetery until we found the required grave.
And with the new coords entered into the Garmin GPSr we were off to the final GZ location, where we quickly uncovered the cache container's "final resting place". TNLNSL and then replaced as found. The cache container was quite wet inside and the log was very damp, but still signable.
Thanks PD186 for bringing us to this very scenic old cemetery, and for the cache.

Cemetery multis are amongst my favourite cache types so this was a must-do cache while on a long weekend visit to Port Stephens. I didn't do it in the intended manner though ... thanks to the effects of the sun, the plaque at WP1 is virtually unreadable, so instead, I simply wandered around looking for John Bartlett's grave amongst the many Blanch and McPherson ones. Once found, I was able to quickly work out the location of GZ, where I made an equally quick find.
Thanks PD186 for bringing me to this historic and picturesque cemetery location that made me wonder about the role the Blanch and McPherson families played in the development of Anna Bay ... and for the smiley too.

Having heard the sad news about the CO only yesterday night, it felt kind of fitting to come up here today. Some of the instructions seemed a bit back to front but given how small the place is we had a look around and quickly found WP3 and a short stroll had us at GZ which also seemed a bit out but as we passed it on the way cachers instinct kicked in and we had it. TNLN TFTC RIP PD.
We had a wee bit of trouble with Step 3, finding John Bartlett's resting place, and wondered if the numbers should be subtracted, rather than added ...
In any case, the cemetery is not very big, and if you look around you can find JB's grave fairly easily.
This is still a beautiful spot, and well worth the effort. TFTC!

This puzzle makes no sense to me at all. Step 2: add the year together. Add what years together? Add Lucys year together to make two numbers. Keep adding them together to make one number? Add Lucy's year to Henry's? Step 3: Annie's age - the day she died. It is an old cemetery. There are how many Annies?
I actually cannot believe that I persisted for so long trying to work out this poorly written puzzle. It would be a great multi if it made any sense at all.

Perfect weather for us on way to Nelson Bay for weekend, via visit sand dunes for cafe then after, next cache, wow interest white graves area, enjoyed walked to muilt answers, got it as well, short walked to GZ, wow lucky cache was life because show on ground expect cover, then sign in as no trouble, all good dry, return placed cover proper, all done... Thanks for having me here
For sure FAV for me, smile ....

Found on Australia Day while we were in Port Stephens. This was a very nice wander around this cemetery. We were fine with most of the waypoint, however we got a bit confused with the one about the MP, because at the waypoint before, the coordinates that we got from that waypoint lead us to the wrong area. So once we found the MP grave just by looking around the cemetety, we marked the coordinates of that grave and did the maths for GZ using those coordinates. So after a few minutes of looking around there, it was a good find. Lovely views. TNLNSL. TFTC PD186!
TFTC. Description is a little confusing. Birdman2099 comments help with the puzzle thanks.
Thanks to TeamGiles for the correction of "Subtracting" from the east instead of adding in step 3, I'd also suggest "adding the digits of the year -1" in step 2.
Both these should be corrected in the description CO. In any case thanks for the nice multi.

Found with a bunch of mates on a four day caching weekend. DarzeeDi and I enjoy the cemetery caches, especially the multis so we had this one picked out to do early on. With the help of ACTchil, MrRoo and Wombat we worked our way through the different steps. It was great to make the find and tick this one off our list. Great views here too and so glad that it has stopped raining. TFTC - nice one
found with team BOB (DarzeeDi, KittyKatch,GrimRaider, MrRoo and wombatatcrows) tftc PD186 great cache!!!
6500 Found with team Bob (grimraider, kittykatch ACtChill, DarzeeDi and WombatatCrows) on a trip up to Port Stephens. Had a great fun caching. Did two events. Met up with alot of lovely people and I even did a night cache.
A very interesting spot. Was really lovely walking around TFTC

Went out with team "lost in cache / team bob" - ACTchil, KittyKatch, Grimraider, Wombatatcrows and Mr Roo on our 4 day geocaching trip to Port Stephens. I was keen to do this multi as it was a cemetery one and I love cemeterys and had to make it my 870 cache. We went to Stockton dunes and then KittyKatch and I said let's go ... so off we all went, got stuck at one point and then Mr Roo found it, what luck so on to to end ....this making me a happy little cacher tftc PD186. One of my favourites...
A reasonably quick find on this beaut little multi, I was at Anna Bay for work and thought this would help for the 7ofA so took a detour to grab it.
The cache was exposed a bit so looked at clue to see if it was meant to be out in open, no help there but added a silica package and dry log ( sorry but only a few sheets of A7 notebook ) took out everything else as too wet so now there is no stash note. Cache was at calculated coordinates though and I really enjoyed the search
Thanks PD186

tftc great hide but could not sign the log cause it was damp and there was no pen.
Great spot. It is possible to cut to the chase as others have said but much more fun to solve the clues BUT from Henry's headstone you must SUBTRACT the clue for the east NOT add as in the description. This mistake in the description is probably why so many have had to cut to the chase rather than solving the puzzle! No pen in cache and log a bit damp.TFTC
Quick find by cutting straight to the chase. Informative cache in a great location. Tftc. We were holidaying only 50m from cache after watching our daughter in a gold medal swim at the Special Olympics in Newcastle
The rain poured down as soon as we parked the car so we didn't bother getting out. Will come back another day.
Looked everywhere - GPS was going a bit crazy. We solved all the clues but just couldn't find the cache.
A bit difficult to find when having to input the coordinates but we found it eventually.
Far out. GPS was a pain in the butt. Such a proud thrill to find in the dark though.
The sums took about 30 mins to work out. For my Mind it was almost non-sensical. Both who cares when you can have a sunset like the attached picture. Wow. Amazing so I guess I better thank you for bringing me here even if I don't think much of the description. Very difficult.
A great little teaser that had the geo-grandkids and geo-grandparents using their grey matter. Finally got the right numbers and the find!
Walked over from Berocca. Soon found the MP gravesite and then, after working out which way was north, the cache. Thanks!
No JOY x 2 today!
First time didn't realise it was a multi.
Then came back with the 'cache sheet', except part of it didn't print !!
Took a photo of some interesting, related items I had in my cache bag and cache mobile.

Didn't find this one today. It was our last one for the day all were hot and exhausted and later realised we missed some clues so will look again for it soon.
Found this one while out caching with Jonignite on a break from work. Gathered up all the info we needed and made our way to the GZ, while spinning in circles waiting for the GPS to settle we spotted something. Yes it was the cache so a nice easy find was made and the log signed. TFTC.
Found this one while we were working up here at the Bay we had a bit of time before the next job after a bitof maths Team Unibolt and I soon found the cache after signing the log we headed off to get back to work Thank PD186 for the hide

The Pprass team made a much better fist of the maths than we did and were first to the prize.

Found at 9:49 AM GAFF1 in the company of Phetlern. Second cache of the day in our clean up Port Stephens - again! campaign. We kinda got a bit tied up with the adding and subtracting and so after reading a bit of the information about the cemetery, we just cut to the chase and went straight to the cache. A very rough sea this morning.
Thanks PD186
Thanks PD186
In Port Stephens again this week to pick up a few caches.
Number five today. Spent time doing calculations which didn't make sense and, in the end, were totally unnecessary. Instead we just looked for the MP, which wasn't difficult as its a very small cemetery. Took coords and did very simple calculation and within a minute or two had the cache.
I like cemeterys and browsing the headstones, can be very interesting. Thanks PD186

Well, John Bartlett was eventually found in this very interesting site, and the offsets gave us a promising search area which at last showed us the cache, but it did take some looking, almost ready to give up. A passing fisherman stopped to talk about the site, and told us a builder down the back had recently dug up a skull, so careful where you walk! The bulk of the burial sites here are unknown. We took the TB, thanks for a very interesting hide, one of the better graveyard searches around.
We spent some time here working on the coordinates and found the last way point. But after half an hour of searching we gave up. We are confident we looked in the right spot. We even checked other logs to make shore. Love the location. Cheers
After quite a long search in two different locations, we looked at the pics as a last resort. Making our way to where we thought it might be, geodad looked down and spotted the cache. Not sure if this is the real gz and cache was wet. Great view even on a chilly day. Tftc
We enjoyed the elements of this cache. Thanks for bringing us to this location. Left a TB.
1st visit - much later, nothing.
2nd visit - trust the gps! Wouldn't go so far as to say it was an easy find though!
Took geocoin, left a necklace.

Very clever took some time to get our heads around the maths but still got it wrong. so good luck on that. So refered to the logs and came accross the a mention of John Bartlet and was lucky enough to be standing next to him. And after some thorough searching found it on our way out by surprize.Took nothing placed travel coin OCD8YF and travel bug E8CBEX
Obviously, the mathematical capabilities of me and PD186 differ greatly!!
Step 2 kept taking me back down the cliff. I didn't think an MP would want to be down there. Don't they have a pretty high opinion of themselves, and would want to be looking down on everyone else??
Anyway, cache found. I had fun doing this one. Which is important. Not to mention the fantastic views from here.

Wow! What a fascinating location. Stopped by today to complete this one, and while the rain was still drizzling a bit, after seeing the headstones, I was eager to take a look around. After working my way through the first few WP's, I soon hit a bit of a snag with the calculations. After I couldn't get the numbers to marry up with the right headstone, I headed off to find the last site, took some coords, and did the final calculation to get me to GZ. By my calculations, it seems that you need to subtract the numbers from the east to get to GZ, not add. In any case, the cache was found, and I loved visiting this spot. One of the nicest cemeteries I've been to.
Gratias PD186.

Wow so really beauitful view all sea so very clean blue water... clues so good well and very short to gz found cache as very well hide clever... thanks
I nearly froze my fingers to the bone while wandering around in circles sorting out my pluses and minuses and got there in the end. This is a great final resting spot.
Thanks.
Thanks.
As geocaching noobs it took us two attempts to find this one... really it's not that hard... it's just us.
We decided to spend Mothers' Day picking up a few caches out this way as it has been ages since we've been out here. This was our last cache for the day before we headed off for a bit of beach driving and a spot of fishing on the way home. Like others previously, we found we had to do our maths a couple of times over, and when we were starting to get a bit frustrated we thought we spotted the cache - but it turned out to be a fair dinkum sprinkler!! Oops. In the end we couldn't get the maths to show us where John Bartlett was - so we just searched the headstones till we found him!! Once there it was a fairly quick search to find the cache. This really is an amazing spot - what a fantastic final resting place! TNLNSL TFTC
Phew, this was tricky. When we did finally find the cache it was wet inside. We were staying very nearby so we took it home and dried it all out. Put back inside another plastic bag. TFTC.
Found while out caching with The Cashman and The Don.
It took some time but i got what i need and signed the log.

Found while on a New Years caching run.
While not a big fan on Kasey Chambers I am a big fan of the location.
Beautiful spot with some great history.
I am surprised that anyone is still able to be buried here. Maybe its pollys only these days.
I hate doing maths in the field. I always make mistakes and get it wrong.
Today it was hot so I decided to cheat and found the cache in no time.
I beats walking around the cemetery at 35 degrees as it was when I pulled up.
Thanks PD great location.

Found on a mammoth day's caching of 124 caches in 17 hours around the Maitland and Port Stephens area with The Rats and FarmerFrentzen.
Thankfully there was no bone rattling by us here. I am always amazed at little cemetries and particularly in places like this.
We soon had GZ worked out and cache in hand as the light was fading even further. TFTC!

#4798 Found this cache as part of the Rats, Steeba & FarmerFrentzen blitz on the Port Stephens area. I've found over my years of caching that the deceased seemed to have the best views.
After a short walk around the area we were heading to GZ where a clever hide was found. I then had to surgically remove a tick from the back of the Farmer.
Thanks

Found during a 17 hour caching spree with The Rats and steeba that yielded 124 finds.
An opportunity to conduct a short multi and after gathering the required info we made our way to GZ for a quick find. A little surgical work was performed by the Rats on return to the car to remove a tick I had picked up a little earlier.
TNLN and thanks PD186 for the cache.

Well saturday was wild and windy and the beach was a no go...
Mrs Madstars suggested a cache and this was a cache on our list to complete.
I took my time working out the equations and trying to figure out where I was meant to be going. When I hear a scream from Mrs Madstars saying this is what your looking for....
A few seconds later the cache was in hand.
Multis who needs to work out the equations when you have Mrs Madstars.
Thanks PD186 for a great cache.
We really like this place, I think I even did a GCA cache here.

Wow what a resting place! We were here right on sunset and it was stunning! Thank you for the history and the cache.
Found with my kids in tow as usual. My kids live in the house overlooking the cemetary about 40 metres away so a very close cache for them. They will be watching for cachers!!!

This cache had been up for a couple of days and after seeing Subi-two's miss we thought we had better hightail it around here and have a look. Alas we were an hour too late as subi-two had been back. Great location. TFTC PD186. Left TB.
I invested an hour in the search for this one this morning with no joy. My eyes may have been painted on as it was earlyish. We will have a look next time we are in the post code. Thanks PD186.
