I don't think I have ever crossed the freeway here to cache and given this cache is 4 years old that kind of proves it. Anyway up the hill I went and when my GPS said 3m I stopped. Got out of the car and it said 18m then wildly fluctuated, probably due to overhead wires but I used geocache sense instead and by the time I put my hand on it my GPS said 3m Smile
Thanks for this one BPJTHillas

As I was driving along from the north, I looked up and could see what I assumed was going to be my target about a kilometre away. Arriving at GZ, yep that is the nearby feature! The coords led me in a straight line to it and I saw it from the right angle that saved me some time I think. That is a very nice hide, and a favourite too Smile.
Thanks to BPJTHillas for this cache.

Thanks for the cache, cool cache. Quick find with my muggle friend today.

20-Jun-14
After finding 19 caches this morning (mostly on the BSRT) I needed one more to get to 20 - an all time high for me in one day. This was it. Nice easy find - so many places out there that I don't know about. Thanks for the hide Smile

Seems to be well gone last found July 2013!

11-Feb-14
Last found over 6 months ago, and obvious GZ spots on either tree bases empty and rubbed out. Old metal pipe still around. Will attach photo for identification that this is not the original cache. Was in the dark so could have missed something, but need help to continue looking. Can CO verify if still OK?

I looked at the foot of each tree and I found a large metal tube at GZ in the hollow of a tree without microphone inside ...
I do not know if it was here but in any case nothing found. Too bad

Motndarg arrived before us an had located the decoy. A quick search around and we had the cache. The log was very wet. We added another sheet of paper but it probably needs a plastic bag (unfortunately we didn't have one with us). Thanks for bringing us here.

06-Jun-13
Decoy was fairly obvious. GPS playing up, but walked around and it came good. Had to dodge working muggles. TFTC

06-Jun-13
The log is soaked. Would benefit from a plastic bag (we didn't have one sorry).

#2 find for the day. Cheeky with the false cache! Foun with Emily63 and geokids. TFTF.

10-Feb-13
A relatively quick find, we did have a false start (intentionally placed there?), and we were laughing at how easy the find had been until we realised it wasn't the find after all! (Just a pipe dream perhaps?). However we located the real thing not long after that.

The Demolition Crew were together again for another legendary caching run, and again, out to Ballarat area after starting in Melbourne. About 65 finds for the night in the company of Quasar3671, TrailRunning and Rebel Acts. Another fun filled night, plenty of great caches, and a night where Rebel passed 8000 finds, fantastic. My thanks to all the CO's for their cache placements.

One we managed to miss somehow on the first Ballarat run we did. Not this time. TFTC BPJTHillas.

22-Jan-13
This cache was found as part of a TDC cache run on the day/night of 21-22 Jan 2010. We missed out on this one early last year, so not this time. After a quick search the log was signed and we were off again. Thanks.

Run Summary
----------------------
The Demolition Crew had been preparing this cache run for two weeks after our last cache run in the Ballarat area only a few weeks ago had left a number of caches behind, and the caching community had placed a number of new caches in the area; so it was timely that we return to finish what we had started.

Rebel Acts (Eric) was creeping up to his 8,000 find, so it was going to be a celebration of big numbers and caching in great company. It wasn't long before the 8,000 mark was hit with a FTF on a cache called "A Local Family's History" in the northern suburbs of Melbourne. At this point we headed west through Melton, Bacchus Marsh, Enfield and then into Ballarat proper. Clearly the highlight of the night was Eric reaching the 8,000th cache, but the three Earthcaches and another D/T crossed off the list were also personal highlights for me. Thanks to all the CO's who have put the effort in placing and maintaining their caches.

22-Jan-13
Myself, Rebel Acts, Trailrunning and Blacklegend (aka The Demolition Crew) planned another Ballarat cache run for tonight as we still had quite a few to find since our last run and some news ones had also been published since then too. Ballarat Smackdown III was soon devised with the route planned and the cache list ready to go.

It was another perfect day and night for caching and there was a definite feeling of deja vu. We started the run around the northern suburbs of Melbourne, picking up a FTF along the way, before heading west through Melton, Bacchus Marsh, the Enfield State Forest (which I personally love driving through) and into Ballarat city itself. During the run Rebel Acts also found his 8000th cache which was a highlight for the night. A big thanks to the CO's for spending the time and effort in placing the caches we found.

A short search around GZ and we had the cache and log signed. Thanks.

22-Jan-13
Found in the company of Quasar3671,Trailrunning and Blacklegend (aka The Demolition Crew) on another Ballarat caching run, we still had a few to do in town since our last visit and a few new ones had popped up. A great night was had by all with lots of laughs and good times, we celebrated my 8000th find. We were soon on to the cache,w e did not get to side tracked here. My thanks to BPJTHillas for the cache.

21-Jan-13
Found it after 10 or so minutes of searching. So many holes to look in. Was about to give up, but got it in the end.

16-Jan-13
Found this one today in the blazing heat with bogonghazy while picking up a few in this direction. Yes guys, you can chuckle. I wont say anything so as not to spoil it, but yes, you can have a laugh at my expense. Thanks to BPJTHillas for the clever twist.

16-Jan-13
Had to laugh at this one, Sully thought she'd found it a couple of times by they were false alarms.
And then I got lucky and came up with the goods.
Nice spot and a well planned cache, thanks BPJTHillas

All I can say is - thank goodness I met up with Team Phetlern today.
Two of us would have had our fingers burnt if it was a hot coal.
Thank goodness the GPS settled and trusty Peter found the well hidden cache. I was walking off in another direction. It was surely my lucky day today - 12:12:12
Not wet or slippery today and H2O was definitely needed as it was hot.

Found with 6Hinemoa2. With pen poised we were about to log and punch "Found" on our device - Uh Oh just keep looking! After 4pm, not our best time or perhaps we just needed more of the valuable H2O ourselves! With the search area re-assessed and a second more closer look, the very cleverly hidden cache was in hand.

TNLN . . SL . . Thanks for the hunt BPJTHillas.

Out driving after work, saw this pop up on the montana. A quick stop then a short walk to gz and a very quick find. Log signed and cache returned to it's hiding spot. Thanks BPJTHillas for the cache.

04-Dec-11
First find of a drive about Ballarat tour, as noted before log is too wet too use, and no repair equip with me.

TFTC

27-Aug-11
As the cache was on the ground, the container has let water in which has soaked the log so much that it's impossible to remove it to sign. Perhaps another water proof cache container is needed, or even a ziplock bag around the whole thing. Thanks for the cache though.

26-Aug-11
Found while we were going past on the way to another waypoint for a multi cache. Thanks for the cache.

23-Aug-11
7th find of the day, and 2993rd total find at 14:19.

We set out to find 14 caches today, and have to say this was a most difficult number to achieve.

The coordinates for this cache are spot on, yet it still took us a while to locate. There are so many enticing and more obvious hollows to check out!

Took: Nothing
Left: Nothing
Thanks BPJTHillas for the cache

Found by edmil & maddie. A nice quick cache on our way back to Daylesford - via numerous back roads. I parked the car not far from GZ and took a short stroll to the cache. It didn't take long for me to locate the cache and have the log signed. Thanks for the cache.

27-Jun-11
Well hidden, rewarding find !

I got lucky with this cache and found it easily. Using my clearing spider web stick I happen to poke it right where the cache was. The GPS didn't seem to respond much at the spot.

Found the cache and log sheet was too wet to write on.
Nice spot though.

Found by Mary & David at 1545. Good fun. After a false start, found in the second spot we checked. Our thanks to BPJTHillas.

Have replaced the log sheet after recent rains. Hoping it stays dry now for a while.

18-Jan-11
Nice hide and TFTC. The log is really wet now after the recent rain and can't be written on. We had a try but stopped after the pen went straight through the paper. Three out of three today with two geokids and finally I found one instead of them...

We had no problem with satellites or numbers here today and made an easy find.
Log was ok and we left our mark.
Thanks BPJTHillas for bringing us here.

The GPSr was pointing in lots of different direction so this one turned out to be a process of ellimination. Was found in almost the last place to look.

I didn't do very well on my last visit but found the cache fairly quickly on my second attempt, dunno how I missed it considering how long I spent at GZ the first time round :p

22-Dec-10
My GPS had me near the fence at first but then drew me back. Once it did that the cache was an easy find, although the insides are a little damp. The log was OK.

04-Dec-10
First cache back after a long break - not that I was that prolific before. Took me a while to get in the swing of things, but eventually found it. Didn't sign the log as I didn't read the notes properly and didn't have a pen with me. TFTC!

26-Oct-10
My GPS really loved the fence and I had a a bit hard time because of that. When I almost gave up, looked some other places and there it was Smile. TFTC!

24-Oct-10
nice easy find TFTC

24-Oct-10
Despite the sun the wind was making it a bit cold up here today. Found after a bit of poking around. Some nice little wildflowers out at the moment. Thanks BPJTHillas.

23-Oct-10
I expected this to take a while, but it was the second place I looked. it was quite damp whilst I was here. There were plenty of mossies around. Some wanted to come home with me in the car. If your here a while it'd be worth wearing some repellent.

Thanks for bringing me here.

20-Oct-10
Sneaky little hide! Been here several times recently, unexpectedly, and knew there was a cache here but didn't have the GPS with me. Couldn't stand the thought of it happening again so I made a special trip. Mission accomplished. Signal was good but, so many possibilities. Eventually eliminated them, one by one and the cache was located. Always wondered why no-one had put a cache up here. Many thanks, BPJTHillas.

12-Oct-10
Grabbed this one with the family today.
The GPSr seemed to have a hard time getting a lock but we came up trumps after about 5 mins.
I think we were lucky as this is a sneaky hide and a small container.
Thanks for placing it we hope you enjoyed your birthday.

Found this one with Mum & Dad.

Lots of hidey holes here but we found it promptly. Smells like cinnamon here lol!! Even more mosquitoes though, beware: they tried to hitch a ride on our backs.

10-Oct-10
I tried by myself and didn't find it quickly or promptly, dug half the place up and didn't see a thing. Would have loved another hint while I was there scratching around!

12-Sep-10
Found the mud first and gps jumped around a bit but soon after cache was in hand. Lots of spots it could have been but did manage a find.
Thanks for the cache.

11-Sep-10
Spent a good ten minutes looking for this one. Well hidden. Finally we come up with the cache. I swear I had looked there before! Nice area for a cache
Thanks again BJPTHillas for the two of yours today.

06-Sep-10
Nice Hide, for the 2nd time in 20 mins I was beaten to the FTF by 64EH, walking around in circles when I heard "Found It" and turned around to see the container held up high by 64EH

I swear I looked in there . . . .

TFTC

I have to say that I agree with 64EH about the difficulty maybe needing another star

06-Sep-10
gps had me looking in slightly the wrong area, wouldn't narrow it down for some reason so back to basics and searched every area that looked likely and cache was soon had TFTC
