I was stuck inside from a concerning amount of revision for my upcoming math test. I hate math now. Regardless, decided to get out and about to find some caches, and this was one of them. Pushed the bike up the hill here before quickly locating the cache at GZ. Logbook has evidence of being wet but at the moment is bone dry. No idea why I didn't find this cache last time, I walked right past it. TFTC AlanBegado!
On my quest to hunt this one down I found some great hiding spots lol. Eventually got my name in the log. Enjoying my mtb ride today Thanks for placing a cache in this fantastic area to hunt.
#4570 The GPS was bouncing around quite a bit once on the side of the hill but perseverance proved fruitful and cache eventually located. Thanks Bella for sharing the treasure.
Pretty easy find, pretty wet though and covered in water. Heaps of fun just follow the path up and then head off about 40 metres, fun and simple!!
Find #4370
Lockdown has bought a totally different approach to caching with the introduction of homework! Much time for homework in fact. Therefore many more puzzles solved, both as a solo and collective effort. Thanks to my fellow geo buddies for assistance when needed.
And in between there are still some traditionals, though not nearly as many of them left these days
Logs all in good condition unless otherwise noted.
Thanks to AlanBegado for putting out and maintaining all of these caches for our enjoyment!

Found with Jemalong&family, photo of log for evidence as we had no pen, also dropped a hedgehog travel bug TFTC
Exploring the Majura Pines on foot today, found this hide on my little outing. I ensured there were no MTBers about to come rocketing down as I made the find. I know it's a pet peeve of theirs when you walk on their trails! Signed the log and I was on my way again. TFTC.
A nice short amble across from the Majura Pines parking area to grab this one - a straightforward find at GZ, thanks.
I signed up to the Fred Hollows Fun Run/walk and really needed to get some kms under my belt. So the geodog and I skirted this side of Mt Majura where we had never been. Beautiful weather, but cold in the shadows.

Cache 6332 on 18 Jul 2020.
I had some vague ideas about caching with a buddy this morning but that idea did not land, so I planned instead to go it alone and grab a couple of puzzle caches I had long solved on Mount Majura. So I headed out early and parked near the pine plantation and headed up the hill! It was slow and steady going, being careful on the pine needles and seed pods under foot. Grabbed both puzzle caches and then grabbed a trad on the way back to the car. A good walk and exercise on a lovely winter morning!
After coming carefully down the hill from the last cache, it was a relief to hit the fire track and get on even ground. Hiding spot easily identified and cache revealed.
Thanks AlanBegado for the cache and the fun!

The GPS was bouncing around a bit for this one, but eventually it settled down and I found the well hidden cache. One day I'll be good enough to ride this trail!
This is one of the very last caches I have to find on Mt Majura [:o]
I have one or two near the base, and also two puzzles over the other side not too far up either, but I have been missing this gap in the map for a long time!
Finally decided to head out this way along the firetrail and pick it up. Quite an easy walk if you don't include the caches on the steep hill!
Thanks AlanBegado, cache is still in good condition, log has dried out and is still ok for now despite being a bit old and tattered!
Thanks

Quickly found while collecting caches in the pine forest as the base of Mt Majura. TFTC Bella from Alan Begando
Enjoying the ride in the mountain bike area for the first time. Nice little hide but book slightly damp but still in good condition. TFTC
Found whilst waiting for school pickup. Log is a bit moldy but still usable. TFTC.
A fun walk in the forest today looking for some hidden treasure, and I found some too.
Thanks for the cache!

I'm out with the GeoSchnauzers for our daily cache. We've been to Costco for fuel. I wanted to do a bike ride, but the fuel situation cruelled that. I ended up here after passing Tankengine's "Majura Monkey", and noting where it is for a future find when I am desperate to continue my streak. This was a nice easy find, with a pleasant walk and nice views attached.
Nice spot in Pines. How great to be in Canberra - the NNF at Easter, a ‘few’ caches, cycling and culture! We have it all and caching takes us to surprise pockets of interest otherwise missed. TFTC
A lazy Sunday when I couldn't tolerate being inside all the day. I spent the day waiting for the wild winds to ease and the rain to go away, before finally seizing an afternoon opportunity to head to the lower slopes of Mt Majura. I found eight caches - most of them before getting wet!
The rain was getting me pretty successfully by this point, but I still wanted to pick up the last couple on the way back to the car. This was easily found, but the container was full of water. Not sure how, as it all seemed well covered and secure. Maybe there is a crack somewhere I couldn't see. Anyway, I emptied it and the log wasn't in bad shape - easily signable. Returned as safely and securely as possible. TFTC

Found with nissan 65 on a few days away caching Log signed and returned to its hiding place. Thankyou for the cache.
Coords were a bit off but with a little help from dty73 we were able to find the cache & sign the log. Kutgw
After making the FTF on the cache just up the 'molehill' I decided I could do one of two loops before heading back to work.... hopefully they didnt really notice me duck out at 9.30... but there was a FTF to claim! The look I chose was the southern one, the northern one will have to wait for another day.
This hide was quickly found as the coordinates were very good. Had a look at the likely spots and found the container at just the second spot, so happy with that.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache.

#2259 Spent 4.5 hours finding 20 caches today. Sunny 16 degrees. This was our 4th last cache for the day as we make our way back to the car. Found with The Banker. Saw several cyclists doing their off road thing. SLTNLN. TFBUH Bella from AlanBegado.
iPhone had me about 10mtrs away, but not hard to find in the obvious places you look when caching. Tftc!!!
Found with Decrypter. We had an easy walk to GZ where we quickly had CIH. So we decided to continue uphill a bit to get some more exercise. On our way back we saw some yellow-tailed black cockatoos. TFTC.
After finishing two larger series today, there was still time to do some extra caches and that means free styling. Grabbing everything interesting on my way!

Sunday 9 April 2017 - a wet overcast Autumn morning for " Brigitte's Farewell Walk". Shame that Brigitte was not well enough to attend. However 5 of the ABS gang made it, walking some 12kms in the pouring windy rain over some 4 hours from one side of Mt Majura to the other and back again (Siri, David, Peter, Mark and Tony). Mr Windy logged his finds and just 1 cache was retrieved for StarsAlign as the others had been previously retrieved. Thx ABS gang. TFTC AlanBegado.
Found 10:54 9/4/17 after walking up Mt Majura, then around it in the rain. Thank you AlanBegado for the cache.
Decide to do some caches today and was a lovely day and lovely view. TFTC Crystal's Treasure
Walked in today, a bit of the odd one out with the riders but didn't come across any up in this area. No worries about Mr Zoog here, the treasure was well hidden and we had to scout a little around before finding it in just the right spot. Didn't take any treasure today, happy to just collect the smilie and go exploring in this new area for me! Thanks for the cache Bella and team AlanBegado!

On my return down from the hill of pines, geohound and I diverted to collect this cache. It's been a long time since I zoomed along this track....well before any large road. Found the container and signed. TFTC AlanBegado
#1244. 223 days in a row.
I was intending to climb Mt Majura to pick up Third Time Lucky to work toward the Old School Challenge, but when I saw the state of the trails I decided that I didn't want to trek through that much mud. I checked what other caches there were around (before resorting to doing some more of the Majura Cycleway series) and saw that this one was only about 70 metres away.
I wandered up and spent a little while wandering around waiting for the GPSr in my phone to settle. I eventually spotted some camouflage and had the cache in hand. Headed back down the hill to my car and drove in to Civic to kill a bit of time before my evening commitment...

Back to finish the other half of the Cycleway series after work today, and figured we should grab some nearby puzzle caches while we were here.
A very muddy ride/run to the bottom of the hill, and then just a short scramble to GZ. TFTC!

A bit cool up in the forest this afternoon, no shortage of bikers meaning very careful grab. Tftc
Plenty of laughs along the trails, which were a bit harder than we expected! Hindsight moment: looks like those were black trails we were trying to ride oops [xx(]. There was also some cross country as we weren't sure where the tracks were heading. Spotted a suspicious family sitting right at GZ who turned out to be cachers who had just found and logged this one . Great meeting with you guys and hope you come to enjoy this game as much as we do! GPS was a bit bouncy so we spent a while searching the wrong spots but spotted it eventually. Thanks AlanBegado
Tftc. A bit of a struggle walking up the hill in 36 degree heat. Found immediately, so it didn't feel so bad then.
# 2134 Decided to go for a ride through the Majura Pines and pick up some daily caches this morning.
First, I cleared some of the new caches in the area, followed by crossing the highway in completely the wrong spot (involving throwing the bike over the fence, squeezing through a gap and then scrambling down the embankment to one of the underpasses). Picked up another cache within the pines, Failed to find the Maze Puzzle cache yet again. Took the "A" route when I am clearly a "B" rider, which meant failing to jump the creek and blowing out my back tyre on the heavy landing (the "umph" I let out on the landing scared wildlife away for miles around), and then walked back to the car with a flat tyre and deflated ego.
All in all, a great day in the pines.
Cheers

Came down to do some caching in Canberra and grab this one, been wanting to do this for some time. We have a Crystal and a Pearl. TFTC
Well hidden cache tucked nicely away. Lots of mountain bike riders out today, give me geocaching any day☺ tftc.
The holidays were coming to an end now and I needed a few more finds to meet my goal of having less than 1000 caches to find in the ACT. I was looking at the map and noticed that the Majura Cycleway series and surrounding caches looked good. I had about 2 hours to spare so I wanted to try and grab some quick finds. My goal was to get 25 finds for the day.
As we drove over to the start point, I had a couple to collect. Those two caches were The ever changing face of Canberra and Guard Diciannove. We arrived at the carpark and unloaded the bike and I hit the trail. Just as I was about to get to the first cache, I saw Pacmania and LiamL. I had a quick chat to them and then continued on to the first cache. I had no problems with the series, breezing through the first few caches until I met up with TheSkype and Green Martian who were heading my way. I had a good chat with them, discussing all manner of Geocaching-related topics, before continuing on to the next cache.
After that, none of the caches took too long to find and I was soon at the most northern cache, ready to head back and pick up a couple of extra caches. I met up with TheSkype and Green Martian again at Stormy Raceway and asked if they wanted to join me to find Ball Fore! They did and we headed off to find the nice and big container! After that, we finally parted ways and I headed off to grab a couple more, meeting up with my dad afterwards. We collected Canberra VOR-DME on the way back home.
Thanks to all the COs who hid caches and sorry about the generic logs!

First for the night with torrevieja; now onwards and upwards to find a nice spot to eat our picnic dinner. Tftc!
I am well pleased wuth all the new bike trails here! Quick find with Ariesz (one more cache then a picnic dinner).
I was delighted to walk in from the north along a logging track. It was a great morning to be out - quiet - even the traffic noises were nearly non-existant. I enjoyed the last part, clambering over logs and branches to GZ - an easy find - left as I found it - well hidden. Thanks AlanBegado
My last find for tonight. Cache was fairly visible from some angles so added extra camo. TNLN TFTC, AlanBegado
#852 2 of 8 today.
I thought it was time to revisit Mt Majura for the new NPS series and a few others that I missed last visit. I drive down the dirt road took me to less than 100M of this cache. Found without too much trouble.

We travelled 10 km up and over and around Mt Majura today, collecting a number of caches along the way. We loved our run/walk. The sky was blue and the wind had a cold autumn chill.
Thanks Bella for the exercise, the cache and the adventure.

Dear me, looks like I forgot to log this one. I do remember having a good day though. TFTC
Somehow missed the road that would have easily taken my to this cache and ended up bush bashing my way through old unmanaged pine forest. Not particularly difficult terrain but very slow. A nice easy find once I got there though. This was the first of five caches found on my walk around Mt Majura.
The roadworks are still underway, but I had an excuse to be in here as I was doing a taxi run to the guide camp. I figured while I was here, I'd better get a few of the caches, and this was first on the list! Took me a few minutes walking around in increasing circles, but soon spotted the right rocks.
TNLN - Thanks AlanBegado!

Spent the day walking around Mt Ainslie and Mt Majura completing the caches I had not found previously. TFTC.
Found at 3:05:00 PM.
Part of a 10 km walk around and over Mt. Majura picking up some solved puzzles and other nearby caches.
I had a little trouble finding this one with the various options around and the tree cover interfering with the GPS.
Thanks Bella.

Decided to head up the Mt Majura summit road and grab a few of the nearby caches today.
Started by grabbing a few along Majura Road, however this cache quickly became unattainable due to the Majura Parkway Roadworks so I left it.
Headed up the summit road grabbing some caches and started my decent. After grabbing the two caches by Tank Engine over looking the vineyards I rechecked the GPS and this cache was only a 2.2km round trip and seeing the cache hadn't been logged since Nov. 2013 I thought I'd head down that way.
Grabbed this one at 1455. Cache still intact and ready for finders.
A nice walk through the pine forest and only 20 minutes from the nearby Tank Engine caches.

428 Tricky terrain near GZ. Not used to walking over that. Rating of 2.5 is justified! Quick find at GZ after eliminating a few possible hides in the immediate vicinity. Tks 4 d cache.

Found this one during a geomission around the area. Found a couple of other caches nearby so this one was on the to-do list as well. I parked at the front gates near the road, and with work at a standstill today, I could just wander along with not a soul about Strolled up to GZ and made the find easy! TNLNSL. On the way back to the car I heard a 'crack!!' and then saw a big pine tree falling over!! That was close! I just came out of there before! Thanks, AlanBegado
#660 - 14:35; Decided to clear a couple of caches around the road works and recent pine forest thinning, so this one found itself in the firing line. I'm guessing that with the roadworks underway nearby, prospective cachers have been deterred from attempting caches in this area. I was able to park conveniently and with work at a standstill today, the trek to GZ was pretty easy. TFTC AlanBegado and of course Crystal
Logging in the area has occured for the Majura Parkway development. I met a nice gentleman at the parking area who happily escorted me through the construction zone into the remaining wooded area at the back.
Some selective logging has happened right on the GZ, the cache has almost been turned into a Track-Side Hide.
Not sure how long there will be access to the forest from the "Majura Maze" parking area.

Happy new year. After searching the devasted area where machines have been through, amazingly the cache is still in tact. We had some walking like a geocacher moments as we went this way and that trying to get meaningful signals under the remaining trees. In the end though it was a very staisfying find with Cleared For Takeoff in a very peaceful spot and our first for 2013. Thanks AlanBegado.

Found it while up this way looking another cahce in the area. Area has been logged but cache still ok in its hiding place. Thanks for the enjoyable walk and hunt. My GPS was a little off but eventually found it.
We had to grab this one while we were in the area tonight, GZ was flattened but the cache was still nice and snug in its little spot. Such a nice night to be out walking.
Thanks AlanBegado for the cache
