Logs
Doesn't look hopeful from the photo attached to the log. However will take a look when I get a chance, was thinking of heading up there today to do some caches on the track but postponed owing to strong winds and possible rain.
As we have moved to Greytown will now archive this as it's not as easy to maintain from here. If the last finder would like to send us their photo we will judge whether it is in fact our cache and allow a log to be made.
I did find a smashed film canuster at a pipe in the corner at coords and what looks like a rotted log book will upload photo later may need a look.
I found this cache many months ago, but was here today with TrinaSian while she looked for it.
There has been some construction up here recently, with the addition of a picnic table, and more concreting. I found what I believe was the cache container and it's hidey place has been removed.
I'd looked for this a couple of times before and I'm positive I'd had my hand on it in one of my previous attempts. Headed here with MissyBeeNZ and she walks directly to GZ and retrieves it instantly! Shouldn't have taken this long for me to log a find here. TFTC.
found this one with CachingInNZ (actually i found it first). great spot for a cache
Number 7 today being day three of I.G.D. weekend road trip to Wellington. A quick find on the way back from GC46. Great views from here. Nice hide. TFTC
Down in Wellington for work so knowing that I am working my way through a number of Challenges and needing a few different/particular caches to meet the requirements this was on my list.
A quick little stop at the top of the hill (as have wanted to stop in the past but the traffic usually puts me off), so its all quiet tonight and a quick find to boot
Thanks for the placement

Stopped back at the lookout on the way back to Wellington and figured I'd give this a go. As I approach GZ I was concerned I was in for some bush bashing but as I gained altitude all became clear. Crossed over the barrier and overshot at GZ but then looked back and spotted a likely enough hide location. Sure enough, there was the cache!
Great views from the area here, thanks!

What a neat way to hide a chache!
I have lived in Wainuiomata for nearly two years and didn't know this lookout platform was there. For shame. Found with samelemon.

Cool winter day, still a bit of a view, nice hidey hole, proved a little bit of a challenge for us newbies but found in the end. Cheers
yippee find number 150. Great hiding spot. Had previously stopped at lookout but didn't realise this other spot was there. TFTC.
Second time lucky! This time I was by myself on a wonderful sunny autumn evening. This time I looked in the correct spot this time. TFTC
Found on way home from Wainui with Selesi. Good views. Some muggles appeared after extracted cache, and Selesi distract them so I could return the cache. TFTC
Found it!! When you finally find this one your like *facesmack* lol loved it!
13891... Very windy up top... so decided not to go for the nearby trad further along the ridgeline, TFTC.
Phone battery was almost dead by this point, but just managed to sneak another cache find in. Fab views, but sadly couldn't take a photo to prove it! Did sign the log, and CITO a couple of bottles, dropping them into the bin on the way back to the car. TFTC.
Took longer than it should have because my GPS wanted me to go bush bashing to the gorse. Ouch!
Walked around in circles scratching my head before it clicked where the cache was. I must be out of practice. TFTC
Our tenth of 10 Wainui caches. I spent many years living in Wainui so it was a nostalgic caching day. I love the view up here. My geoson was once again the star - I was looking all over for it and he found it in 10 seconds. TFTC.
Nice views & hide TFTC

I too spent a long time looking through the gorse, then after too many scratches resorted too the hint. After that it was a quick find. TFTC
My first Geocache, unfortunatelty co-ordinates are wrong . Spent a lot of time scrambling around in gorse, brush and Toitoi on the edge of a tall bank. Judging by the amount of trampled vegetation, so have quite a few others! Covered in scratches and hives, but enjoyable all the same
First visit was in 130kph winds so search was abandoned.
Next visit today had success. The bronze plaques are still missing. TNLNSL TFTC

What a wind !
No real view as the mist was whipping past my eyes, but cache was fished out of its hidey hole.

Stopped a few different parking spots to retrieve the cache (some safer than others - the area marked as a picnic spot on the southern side of cache on the northbound lane is not very safe to get back out of and the path is a bit overgrown). What a view when you finally get up there - spectacular. Thanks for bringing us to this the spot.
#47 (for me) of Tom&Thomas' 55 cache road trip to Wainui' to find the oldest cache in NZ, GC46.
Jumped the fence to see what the sign said but couldn't find anywhere that matched the hint.
We were about to give up when The Seagnoid rechecked an area that I suggested (but he claimed he'd already searched) and came up trumps
Lovely views, although Smurf was unable to see her workplace which is in the shadow of the hill from this vantage point.

Had a few muggles up here, but there conversation must have been riviting. People are so unobservant sometimes! Found with Etherlord on a super awesome 50 cache day.
Another DNF for the day. Spent a while looking for this one in the gale force winds. Decided to call it quits when the 5yo mini-cacher had had enough of being blown around. Will try again.
Quick and easy find. Sadly too cold and windy to stand for long admiring the view. Most hazardous exiting the little carpark.
Hello. I am mrsid. I found it with yettiballer on a beautiful sat afternoon. Oooo it's so pretty from way up there.
Quick find today ... compared to my first visit to this cache as a fresh newbie.
Nabbed cache on a lunchtime walk up Wainui Hill.

I found what was left of this cache and put it back in the right place i think.
Second visit lucky for this one, was missing when I was here previously so was able to go straight to where I thought it was this time and bingo! Didn't even get GPS out. Awesome views across to Wellington and lovely day for a walk. SL TFTC
Cache #419 - great hide, and thanks for the clue. Last of 4 on an extended lunch hour today. Have always loved this spot - been here several times, but this is the first trip back since this cache was planted. TNLNSL. TFTC!
#1,042: Nice View!!
I'm also adding a fav point to this one. I came here to start a walk up into the hills, but needed to go to the other side of the road, so I stopped here first for a quick looksee. I really like the hide as well -- not a typical one!

Coming home from scout camp with 1grunta so we stopped on the way home and grabbed the cache
On the way home from Wainuiomata, stopped to check out the view, and of course, grab the cache.
Very straight forward, hadn't realised there was a lookout further up the hill until today.

Great location and great hide- We were surprised this hasn't had a favourite yet, but now it has. Thanks for a great cache to finish a nice afternoon's walk. Cheers.
Great place to stop off to after our first trip to Wainuiamata.
Very nice cache, havnt found an "ordinary" cache yet in Wellington , enjoying the experience!!
Ah yes, the cache-- real good, thanks!

Haa, cache has returned! Riding past on bike and decided to try - nice surprise, cheers!
Frustrating search. Seems to have been some work done in the area to cut back the gorse, thinking it may be hidden underneath some cuttings and my hands aren't tough enough to try to move it! Will have to look again later
Last cache for the evening. Great views from GZ. No sign of any replacement plaques on a the features at GZ though. Cache was all safe and sound and still tucked away exactly where I imagine it should be. TFTC, Biggles.
K is out on a caching maintenance afternoon. Thought I should check this one after 3 DNF's. Initially couldn't find it as it wasn't where it should have been, but whilst preparing a new new one noticed the "missing" one on the ground less than half a metre away. So all replaced where it should be.
GPS sent us a likely spot but it was empty. Checked the hint and then looked again in a wider area. The only sign of a hint item looked as though it had been there for some time. Three pairs of eyes couldn't see it - but then we have been blind before.
Perfect cache to start today's push to Find No 500 - Offering sweeping views of my intended caching ground and inspiration as I try to get back in the swing of geocaching after an extended absence due to illness. Was feeling a bit wired myself until I logged this one.
It seems some ratbags have pinched the plaques. Didn't get any views as hills in cloud today, but never mind, interesting area and nice hide. TFTC
Also passed by here today. Great views, definetly worh a cache. TFTC. Sherlock Hood,
#9000
The last push to find #9000!
