Travelling with richlink on our Annual Caravan Geocaching road trip, using geocaching as our guide. We are staying at Millicent for the week, finding some of the caches we should have found if we had not been prevented from attending the 2020 Mega by Covid19. Thanks for the cache. LNCU.

I am spending a few days in Millicent and my aim for today was to complete finding the SFE Challenge Caches (done and dusted) and to find Regular Caches to qualify for a challenge I am working on. This cache in good condition was a quick find. Thank you for placing and maintaining this cache

31-Oct-23
This is an amazing spot. Thanks for having a cache here to highlight this cave and the associated history. Cache in good condition and no blackberries near it.

Stumbled across it while looking at the aboriginals home. Quick and easy find TFTC

I love this spot!

03-Nov-22
Went out to check on blackberry situation at the cache site.. Much will be happening in the area soon to landscape this historic site with walking tracks..picnic spots..etc.
A lot of blackberries have been cleared so you can now walk down the path to the cave entrance..
The original cache hide has not yet been cleared but will keep you updated as to the progress..
There is still a cache out there to be found

Cheers.! cabbos

Thanks for bringing me back here, I hadn't been able to recall where it was...definitely a lot of 4wding happening in this area but I'm more interested in finding out more about what the locals were doing in this area way back...

Out on the second day of the Mega with CPwanderer, Gizmo's Gang and JJ52.
After completing the Lobster and fish geoart, most teams ventured off to complete other caches.

Teaming up with mogni, sir-spectre, astro, fire safe and matty cat.
We completed quite a large area of forestry (while the weather was good)
and this cache was one of many completed today.
Thanks for the cache cabbos

Re-logging with correct date. First log deleted.
After completing the crayfish a group of us continued on to the Finding a Fish series and some other nearby caches.
Travelling with CPwanderer, clare007 and JJ52, also mogni and sir_spectre and 2 other groups.. Logs were signed or stamped Mystery Randoms and Misfits.

Found with CPwanderer, clare007, JJ52, mogni and sir_spectre. After finishing the nearby DRB series. All logs signed as mystery Randoms.
Saturday the official start of the 2021 Millicent Mega event. today was filled with a few caches before meeting others up for some power trailing then heading out in to the forests for some more caches. The weather today was filled with rain off and on but that didn't stop me and Mogni. I was glad we had the 4x4 instead of Mogni car for the trip.

A quick find of a good sized container near an interesting spot. That’s what’s good about geocaching.

Thanks for the cache cabbos.

The great Geoventure 2020 tour....take 2...which is of course now in 2021 Surprised Once again it myself and AnyMules doing things that not many sane people would attempt. [:o)]

Day 2: Today we set out to do a few newer caches in and around Millicent. Cool But as we were following the unfound boxes we found ourselves out at Mt. Burr and so it was onto the wonderful Native series, then a spot of Pole Fishing and then some more of the DRB series along with anything else we came across. Smile If anything was particular interesting there will be a comment

Here.. One final cache before heading off into the sunset to our digs. The cache was quickly found and then we went and looked at the shelter and deep shaft. Smile

Only one of the three goals from last year achieved. Twisted So once again trying and fill my calendar with multi-caches and complete loop 11 again this year. [^] For my third goal I will try and get my DNF numbers from over fifty to single digits. Cool That should keep me busy again this year! [:o)]

***Thanks cabbos for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. *** Big Grin

Great little spot with cultural significance. Apparently the rock shelter was used as a winter shelter for the Boandik First Nations people.

Day 4 and it’s Time to head home from Millicent. Took the most direct route fm Millicent back to the wine glass to reattempt the wherigo’s and stopped by all the caches in between.

Such an interesting location thanks for placing the Cache so we could find this place. Would never have believed something like this was here in this densely forested area.

Checked on cache as I was in the area.. Cache is in good condition but area around historic site is very overgrown with blackberries and fallen trees... I will try and get onto someone who can do some maintenance and tidy it back to what it was

Staying another day in the south east after the "Used 2B a Geoventure" celebration weekend.
There's such a choice of caches to find down here [8)]
( Hopefully we'll be back for the real Geoventure when it's able to go ahead Wink )
"Still is a Geoventure", "Better Late than never", "Geoventure Resurrection" all came to mind for next year Razz We're sure it'll be a blast!!!

Teaming up with Sebastbat, and JEM, we hit the tracks again today and headed, umm, thataway...
The weather which was "challenging" on the weekend had turned to a mild and pleasant sunny day. We're starting to really like it down here, but alas, "essential" work expects us home soon [|)]

Quite the scenic little hole in the forest! Nice quick find.

Thanks for placing and maintaining another great cache in this region of our state cabbos

Stay safe while caching, the things you touch can often be dirty,
wash your hands, wipe down your cache gear, stay on this side of the border ( it was tempting... Wink )
sanitise, exercise, even wear a mask if the season makes you sneeze and cough, and
cache the countryside safely distanced at least an emu or an adult brown snake's length apart ! ! !
Have fun out there caching the regions ! ! ! Smile

2 years ago I came here and unfortunately the cache was missing at the time. Back today and I was able to make a quick find. Cache is all good

Today I made started with a bit of caching around the Millicent area before heading back to adelaide in the afternoon. The day was also separated by a early afternoon tea event. All up 46 finds for the day.

Thanks for the cache

TFTC! Very overgrown now

03-Jul-20
Such a shame that this historical place is becoming overgrown with blackberry bushes and no signposting or information boards at all. We had a lone Wedgetail Eagle circling overhead keeping an eye on us as which added a nice touch. At least this cache is here to mark the location! Thanks for bringing us to this place. TNLNSL - TFTC.

03-Jun-20
Since arriving in Millicent we have been dodging the rain. Today was forecast to be fine so we chucked 3 loads of washing through before we joined forces again with Sylken to tackle the DRB series and a few other caches nearby.

A fun day with friends. Woo Hoo

After a chat with the CO we have replaced this cache it's such an interesting spot it needs a cache to draw people here. Had another look at the shelter, geez this is an old piece of Aussie history.
Get better soon cabbos, cheers Kookacrew

14-Apr-19
What a great spot to visit, unfortunately we had no cache joy here. We looked high and low, then lower and lower and still no cache. After contacting a previous finder we are thinking it has gone walkies, found the spot described to us, in fact revisited most spots at least three times haha.
More than happy to replace cache if it needs it, thanks for the hunt cabbos, and a reason to explore a hidden away spot.

Found on a Christmas eve drive with the family. Muggle nephew was kind enough to stop and let caching nephew and myself find this one.
Didn't explore far as wasn't in my caching shoes and the blackberries are popping up all over the place.
Will have to come back for a better look around with boots on.

Any form of shelter would have helped today. Cache located with the rain falling down. TFTC
A trip east to Parkville 2018 had us stopping on the way to collect a few caches and again stopping on the way home. Well that’s what cachers do when they head to a mega don’t they.

24-Nov-18
Used the shelter today to log in the rain! Neat spot.

Found on the Parkville mega event round trip. This cache added to the experience.

Thanks cabbos. and clear skies from TeamAstro. [^] Cache the planet!

20-Aug-18
Cache has been replaced as blackberries too thick to remove around original hide without a major working bee.. Hide is now away from blackberries and container is now a medium systema not far from original so hope co odds are ok.?? as there was no sattelite service on the day of replacement.. Still a beautiful peaceful historic spot but hindered by ‘horrible weeds’..
cheers.! cabbos

19-Aug-18
It’s been 8 years since this has been published pretty cool place but no luck for us! Blackberries have taken over the area

29-Aug-15
Was awesome to walk around this place and even better to have found it on my birthday!

22-Aug-15
what an awesome location.
geo wife likes caves almost as much as ruins.
getting here was an interesting story...
we had just found "the towers" cache and
were making our way through the pines which were very slippery
to say the least
when geo hubby says "f***" we know we are in trouble
as we were sliding sideways down a rather steep hill
with very little control.
upon regaining some sort of control geo nanna and geo wife took geo baby
for a short walk as geo hubby made a safe descent down the rest of the hill.
from here we discovered we had already been down this track when we where going to "the towers"
and had somehow missed it.
an easy find with an epic story.
tftc!!

22-Aug-15
There was an easy way to this cache and a hard way. With TT016 we took the hard way. The slippery descent from "The Towers" cache. The location was lovely with cool caves. Had to be careful of the brambles. The cache was easily located. TFTC cabbos

22-Aug-15
After slipping and sliding with TT016 and hevwalker12 we finally found this cache.
There was defiantly an easy way and a hard way to finding it!
Had a great day out!

Was nearby getting our souvenir cache so thought we'd pick this one up too before heading to Furner for hockey. Had out picnic lunch here but not too tranquil as a group of lads nearby on their dirt bikes TFTC great spot for a cache

22-Jul-14
What a peaceful serene place. On a beautiful winters afternoon, thought we would see where this lead us. Glad the tracks amongst the pines are so driveable, would never had thought just to see where the road lead. Blackberries had a bit of a grab at me, but found it easily enough. Well done.

08-Nov-13
What a fantastic place for a cache.
Would never have seen this place without the cache being here.
Enjoyed the story you told about the place as you pruned a few of the over growing plants/weeds to make a path.
A favourite point from me today.
took trackables to visit.

Love caches with a history behind it
What a wonderful place to visit
I will always remember this cache because you pulled out a pair of shears to prune the blackberries near ground zero to make it safe for us and fellow cachers
Making for a well maintained cache
