A slight detour to find some caches in the Esk valley while heading south to Alexandra tftc.
Quick find this morning with Hal2929 as we find some new and definitely not so new caches around the area.
Thanks Bitsprayer for placing and taking us to some new roads

Had a DNF here a couple of years ago so very pleased to return to turn that frown upside down. Thanks for the replacement. Enjoyed hearing the children playing over the fence while I was here. TFTC # 17,254
Out for the day in the back blocks of Waimate for a days caching, glad the floodwaters have receeded. Great day out and some more to come back to another day. Apologies for the generic logging. TFTC!
Great day for an outing! And once I left SH1, I did not see many signs of live civilization, only saw 3 cars and 1 tractor. On the other hand, I spotted 4 magnificent hawks and had an almost continuous view of the mountains! Thank you for a nice tiki tour. TFTC!!
*Another good find going from cache to cache with woolwood9.*

It's the last day of 2020 and StreetWalkerNZ and I are on our way south to spend a few days in Dunedin. With the forecasted rain, we decided to cache as much as possible en route to take advantage of the fine weather.
Didn't take long to track down the cache, but the log book fell to pieces (no staple). Popped the name of the cache on cover . First find in over 3 years! TFTC.

#19111. Found while looking for of the 50 new BS caches (presumably the CO replaced this one while placing the new caches). TFTC.
I couldn't track down this clever hide. I looked close up then looked from a distance to see if I could see this odd one out - nope not today
Struggled a little, little brother who had found it before to give some clues
DNF.
Was in the South Island on some R&R with Mrs Yeetrees on our 5th day now staying in Waimate to do some house keeping and chores, and of course pick up a few caches.
Decided that I would get up early and find a couple of caches before heading back when I was required to do some cleaning and go out and pick up a few caches, this was the next cache that I had on my list that I wanted to do today.
After the previous DNF, I thought that I would check my GPS and see where the next nearest cache was and go and check it out as I still had a little bit of time before I was due back.
The drive to GZ was quite familiar as I have being down these roads a while back picking up a few caches with Mrs Yeetrees as we were making our way to Timaru for a family appointment.
Arriving near this spot, the memories started coming back and I soon realised that I have being pass here before. Managed to find a safe parking spot out of the way and it was a short walk to GZ.
Started to have a quick search around the obvious spots but couldn't spot anything and decided that it was time to move on as the traffic was starting to pick up as the muggles were starting to make their way to work.
Oh well that was a bit of bad luck, will need to come back again sometime as there is a few caches that are in the area that I need to try and find, maybe next visit.

Day 2 of my mini roadtrip travelling around Timaru on way to Christchurch. Also only a couple of days left to complete my 2016 new years resolution - reach 2000 by the end of the year (fell 35 short but I didn't just go for park and grabs).
Had my muggle friend who comes caching with me along for today as she now lives in Timaru area and through hunting for this and few other caches she's seen more of her new town over the last 24hrs.
Thank you for this cache. All in good condition.

The hide is so obvious that we nearly overlooked it. Duh! We have a similar hide so should have known better. Found with AorakiSheep.
Found this cache on our way to Dunedin. Great weather! Nice place for a cache. TFTC! Greetings from Denmark!
I have been waiting for one of these to turn up well done my first one !!!! TFTC

One of many War Memorials scattered around the South Canterbury and the NZ districts. What looks innocent is more than what meets the eye. I know,it took me a while to find the cache.
Got it on the second time of asking, I had picked it up on the first visit...... :-0
Had a weekend in Timaru, so did a bit of caching in around the town. Not so many WWII victims on this monument. Thanks for the hide.
I found some caches out here some time ago, but when I went to get this one, found I'd not loaded it to the GPS, and couldn't remember any details.
Found within moments today. A great container. The little Bairdys had lunch and a play in the neighbouring site - a welcome break from the car. TFTC.

Nice easy find - playcentre closed today so no mini muggles around Awesome container!
Driving around the countryside outside Timaru picking up caches but never expected to find one with my niece's name in it - from Saskatchewan 2010. TFTH!
Glad I spotted this one quickly as the sun was hot and I was keen to go check out the nearby church. TFTC.
It is sad to see all these war memorials, but good that they are still remembered.
3554. The maps are only any good if everything is facing in the right direction! However we finally turning around and got there! A good hide. These local memorials are great historical records.
Thanks

Quick find, thanks. Short detour and rewarded with second to find - hurrah! (and a hint to the last first to find available in South Canterbury). That's my next stop!
