Hi tonyflew
This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).
I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.
Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache. If a month passes without seeing a response, then I'll assume that this listing should be archived.
Please note, that if a cache is archived due to lack of owner maintenance, it is not eligible to be un-archived.

The paved path along here has dropped into the sea, and all the shrubs between it and the sea are gone. See photo. CO not maintaining. Recommend archive.
Nothing on both WP, even at the second I couldn't find the contents of the container as per photo of previous finder. Maybe all washed away now?
Nevertheless I enjoyed walking along the stone beach and having a view of rabbit island from this side

Captain Black's Treasure (Nelson/Marlborough) was transferred from Southward4 to user tonyflew
out for a walk around the airport with No. 13 to get a few caches (first time for me around the airport). Pleased not to have to scramble down to look for something at WP1 as felt sure that the Feb storm would have washed it away. Off to WP2 and at GZ its fairly overgrown so quite a search until locating the cache. Cache in not bad condition considering but definitely past its best. TFTC & multi.j
Found with TregearP on a warm and humid afternoon. Possibly should have done this one from a visit a week or so ago when we accessed this area by Kayak from Monaco.
Still, always good to be out and about.
Thanks for the cache.

Thanks for the cache.
Decided we needed a little bit of afternoon exercise so a handy trail and bagged a wee cache, TFTC all pretty dry.
Like others before us we found nothing at WP1 but continued on to WP2 and had a fair bit of search before stumbling upon cache. Grass was over knee height and very dry, the prickly seed heads were getting caught in shoes and socks and we had to keep stopping and digging them out. Hinges had rusted out on cache container and lid is not fastened to anything making contents susceptible to mother nature. Rescued to geocoin. tftc
Found with capperz, richardinho.nz and jojo74.
Earlier in the week capperz mentioned he was planning a trip to Nelson with richarinho.nz and joj74, and knowing I was home alone this weekend, asked if I wanted to tag along. Of course, I said yes and as gratitude for the invite, offered my wheels as transport. Everyone really knows that capperz' car is a gas guzzler and my fuel bill would probably be the same as a quarter share of his.
The plan of attack was to attend the Pirate Event in Blenheim, the head across the Hill and do a few caches around the airport before heading to the Nelson Pirate Event. Afterwards it was off to Rabbit Island to do the eastern end of that.
All up I got 30 caches today, which leaves me 15 off my 2000 milestone... woo hoo.
Depending on the space available logs were signed in full, or Cz, Rh, KM, and JJ or CRKJ. with Cz or C missing on those he had already found.
This cache was appropriate in so many ways. Firstly Captain Black was an ancestor of mine. Secondly, today geocaching pirates across the country are attending events that start a month of looking for the Lost Treasure of Mary Hyde. To celebrate this cache I placed a CITO geocoin in it.
As mentioned by previous finders, the cache is in need of maintenance and the log was water logged. As the CO has been inactive for over four years, it is up to us, the current players to maintain the cache if we want it to continue. Capperz came prepared and replaced the log.

One of my easiest Multi caches as I barrel towards 300 finds of that cache type. Nothing found at WP1 so headed to the coordinates in the hint, soon found and treasure admired. I donated a dry log-book in zip-lock for the Corrs (pun intended)

Today is the official first day of the Northern Hemispheres Summer souvenir-fest and we start with some geo-bling by attending an event; how about two? So a plan was hatched by several Marlborough interlopers to come raiding over the seven seas (Whangamoa Hill) and find a few caches mostly by bike. Nelson donned it's fine Winter coat and a beautiful days weather was enjoyed.
A trip around the airport by fair means (on foot) and foul (bike!! oops) a catch up at the Honest Lawyer, then a quick b n g (bike and grab) along the trail before a late afternoon attempt on the East of Rabbit Island. Not a huge numbers day, but some great caches, good company throughout and a some wonderful views were enough to slake the geo-thirst.

A timely cache find considering we attended two events today based on a pirate theme. A little trouble at WP1 but no real issues at the final, and a nice collection of booty there as well. TFTC Southward4.
Saturday was day one of a two day caching weekend in Nelson. Capperz has proposed the idea a few weeks back, and myself and Jojo signed in. Kiwimykl was also recruited and kindly supplied the transport, and a hit list of locations was compiled. For us it didn't really matter what we targeted as there is so much unchartered territory this side of the hill for us, but our collective aims were around the airport perimeter and the Nelson side of Rabbit Island with a few cycle-access favourite point hoovers in the middle. Just as well I had a few FPs in the bank. Before that though there was an event in Blenheim at a local cafe, then another for the same reason at the Honest Lawyer with the Nelson crew around lunch. All logs signed with variations on the theme of Jo, Ric, Km and Capperz, and thanks to all the COs, it was a great day

ARRRGHHH there be treasure in them dunes. And soon had the Jolly Roger flying with victory as cache obtained. Thanks for the cache.
Great cache, I'll come back with my family one day to share the fun. Searching around gz softly with my feet found the treasure. But having forgotten my booty in the car, I dare not take any treasures.
Much fun TFTC

Eventually found today after I stood on it. A great treasure trove for kids. All a bit damp inside. TFTC
I couldn't find any of the waypoints. too much concrete to search around & nothing that marked the spot & the second waypoint had something that resembled the hint but couldn't find it in the concrete & grass.
I had failed to turn up any treasure on a previous visit back in the summer and would have ended up empty-handed again if it had not been for Streetgamer's eagle-eyes.
This would have been a great, fun multi back in the day, but treasure is still treasure even if you know where the 'X' marks the spot is.
Thanks

like others before us we could not find anything of interest at WP1 but soon had the treasure found and opened. A wonderful assortment of treasures to look at tftc
Out on a walk around the airport to day grabbing a cache or two. Could not find wp1 but managed to find the treasure at wp2 TFTC
Packed up the gear at the backpackers and thought I'd head here for a walk around the Airfield - a much nicer walk than what we have back home at the Blenheim Airport.
Slight deviation off the main path here - but muggle free - yay!! No trouble finding final treasure box. But alas - sorry no coins to drop off. Just signed log and carried on.

Thanks Southward4
Undeterred by our recent dnf, we approached from the sea in true pirate fashion armed with the coordinatrs for WP2. Yeah - found the treasure chest, dried it all out in the sunshine, added a few coins and returned it to its safe place. Such satisfaction! TFTC.
The only "treasure" we found at WP1 was an old sack of plastic rubbish! Not exactly what we expected.... so we continued our walk around the Airport Gym instead.
Disappointed to walk away without the find as had brought plenty of coins and treaures for trade. A lovely hour on the beach all the same. Thanks for the play.
Couldn't find "item" at WP1. We have found it quite a while ago with another geocacher so knew what we were looking for. From there went on to find treasure easily. Container needs some attention. Thanks for the cache which will be more fun for kids when WP1 is sorted.
In Richmond for a wee family holiday. This mornings family walk had this cache as it's main aim. Parked up near the airport and walked in - the boys enjoyed watching the planes landing. Quite a ways for wee legs to go but they managed with aplomb. Spent a while searching for the WP1 without luck - having walked so far we needed reward so just used the WP2 co-ords. Quick find adn sign. Pity we missed the WP1 though....now for the walk back! Cheers.
What fun! A genuine pirate's treasure chest! Found this on our big meander around the airport and Junior was the finder and most impressed. Thank you Southward4! You get a favourite from us.

Logbook was damp and the hinges were rusted. I think that this cache need a general tidy up.
Found map, (soaked in water) but could not find the final point (even with the hint co-ords) Cool idea for a cache.

Our original easter plan since ages ago was to go hiking. Every night staying in a DOC hut. We had already planned out a route, and a backup in Mt Richmond Forrest park... however the weather sort of ruined that...
We instead kept on driving to Nelson, and decided to do various day and overnight trips - jus to throw that DOC hut in the mix.
Decided this arvo to walk the airport runway trail. Sounded like a perfect plan! Get some caches along the way
Did this one whilst out walking the airport trail, as figures we may as well!
Took a while to locate the first point as GPS kept playing up. I even broke my jandal!!
Second point was easy though. A really really fun cache!! Both waypoints are in need of a bit of love though.
And I was still pullig prickles out of my foot a week later!! Haha.
Great fun.

Thanx for this cache my son really enjoyed this one ,log a bit damp but signed it ok ,its not in bad condition considering it must get a pounding from the weather,,, Thanx4tc
[green] Christmas family get-together is all over. Time to return home. I take the bus from Motueka that gets me to the airport 6 hours early, as the next bus gets in at 10 minutes too late. Which means I have time to fill. Caching! Decided to do the Airport Gym, trying out all the toys along the way. As a result I came across this cache.
I was half expecting to see a real shipwreck out on the beach, Like the Janie Seddon out at Motueka. I was rather surprised to find I wasn't as wrong as I thought! And I was originally thinking the map needs replacing - no longer well sealed against water, lot of wear and tear, but then I realised it is still perfectly readable, and the aging fits in perfectly with the theme.
At the final I spent ages hunting for the treasure. I was sure I had the right spot, and eventually pulled up the hint. Yep, right spot. Eventually found it right where I looked before. Both hinges are nowgone, but otherwise everything is in order.
This gets a favourite from me. Later I discovered a foreign coin in my cache kit. I could have dropped it in. Darn .

The final cache is in need of some TLC. Hinges are broken and contents are quite grubby..
We enjoyed being childlike on a blustery day finding the ship and then the treasures. Tftc
What a great idea, this treasure! And thanks to everyone that it works that well - we really enjoyed examinig all the coins from all over the world!
Cheers for this one!

Found this one years ago, but as it has been changed, I re-found it with a friend! Great adventure! Perfect for kids or the young at heart!
Brought the little fruit over to see the Auckland Theatre Company perform Bad Jelly and thought we'd do a few caches before heading home .. This was #1 on our list of must-do's!
Thanks so much for putting this puzzle together Southward4, an awesome hunt for kids & the young at heart

Time to have another go at this one. This time I came prepared with a spare set of eyes - - and brain. Finally, the cache was in hand. I must have been so close last time. - - -Incidentally there was a perfectly usable log book. I rather suspect batmanandme, being a new cacher, did not actually realise that this was a multi, and did not make it to GZ. Thanks for the cache. One that all geocaching kids should find. - - - As this is meant to be kid-friendly, we left something that made the clues a little more obvious - - - just for fun.
I was SO enjoying this cache until I got to the very end. Hunted high and low. (Mainly low). But either the brain wasn't working properly - - - - or it wasn't working at all. GGGRRRRR.

A very well done cache, found on a walk around the perimeter walkway this afternoon. The cache container is a bit worse for wear, the hinges are completely rusted out and some of the tradeables are a bit worse for wear but the logsheet is safe and dry. Found after a short search - sgned log, TFTC!
Beautiful evening walk with full tide and stars coming out. Ahhhhh.....Much treasure abounded in the treasure chest.
Unfortunately didn't manage to find this one. Even with the coordinates in the hint wasn't able to find anything. Will try again another day.
Actually took some time to find it once I was at the spot but WELL worth it. Fantastic cache!!!!
Even adults can have fun being treasure hunters. BEWARE though, a fairly lively wasp nest was located on one of the 'X' spot blocks.
Easy find on an afternoon walk with Hazedarus. A great cache for kids, even big ones! TNLN. TFTC.
The walk was a bit longer than expected - especially with little junior cachers. Enjoyed some plane spotting on the way. Kids loved the eventual find.

Great cache for kids, or those who still behave like children a lot of the time. Very enjoyable. Added a few trinkets to the cache and took a TB that wasn't meant to be in here so will sort it out on line later today.TFTC.
Dipping in the TB that was actually already in this cache but wasn't logged into it, then will take it out again )
WOW what a cool cache well worth the walk! We almost didnt find it tho. Very impressed with the number of items inside. We took the green glass bottle and left the blue dinosaur.
Magic day today, great spot for a walk and a little treasure hunting!! No kids to help unfortunately as they would have loved it. Located treasure without too much difficulty. TFTC
6727 Imagine our surprise when we found Christine and Captain Black’s Treasure. Liberated the “Four Seasons in one coin” GC, to take to less pirate infested waters… TFTC
A very well themed cache. I had the company of jf2004 and showed a not too bright side at WPT1 and at WPT2 although X marked the spot I didn't see wood for the trees initially. TFTC #2078
Great multi. We really enjoyed it.
Left Captain Facesucker and picked up some Bullion.

Nice multi. Sobad, Mrs Sobad and Sobads sister all had a part in the find. Mrs Sobad looked after the GPS, Sobad found the first spot and his sister the final treasure. It was a warm afternoon but enough breeze to keep us going. Took TB. Left nothing . TFTC
Sun came out while we were walking to this cache for a perfect end to our cacheing in SI; thanks for such a creative, interesting cache! Took B-52 TB for a ride to the US....Left Oh Canada TB.
