Regretfully have decided to archive this cache as I suspect it will eventually become harder and harder to maintain and my impending departure from the region won't make it practical to keep 'live'. Thanks to all those who completed it and apologies to those that didn't get a chance.
I started this one some time last year but like others took a few waypoints to get the hang of what I was supposed to do and then gave up at some point (can't remember why now). I had a stopover in Wellington tonight for a couple of meetings tomorrow, the rain had stopped and I had a TB that may like to be logged in to this cache. No problems on a nice long walk this evening. Luckily I started from scratch because I hadn't brought the previous found numbers with me because some of the waypoints were different. Well planned cache. TFTC #2176
Exactly where the coordinates told me to go! Collected the numbers on the way home from work last night. WP3 gave me trouble and when I finally spotted the numbers I realized I had collected entirely the wrong numbers at WP1 and WP2, so had to head back to those. Once I got the right idea it was straight forward. Very pleased to discover I had done the maths correctly! Thanks for a fun multi.
Not quite sure how we got this one solved but we did. ....Last weekend we got most of the stages (bit of confusion with all the possible options at the beginning) and the missing southerly ones were picked up during a sunny lunchtime stroll during the week. Then the mathematics began this morning. This is where a bit of wonderment comes in as we had a few alternative numbers for some of the way points, and try as we might we never got the sum check to actually work, but by working through a few options and knowing that some of our three digit numbers were definately correct, we finally came up with a few combinations of numbers , one that lead to a pretty likely looking GZ on google earth. Went for it in the afternoon in the rain and after a fruitless search in what we first thought was a possible spot nearby, the prize was found. Nice hunt and satisfied if somewhat fortuitous result. (after the find we were off to the cable car museum so watch out Trams and Cable Cars!). Thanks for a great multi.
Good to get this one found after getting my wires crossed at the start last week and having to retrace my steps to the beginning again. Once sorted, I was back on track again and a drive to GZ meant the cache was soon in hand. Thanks for this interesting multi.
Retrieved all of the waypoint information over a couple of lunch breaks last week so decided to walk up to the final today seeing it was such a nice day. A straight foward find and another fun cache in the Go series. TFTC
StreetWalker found the remaining WPs during lunch breaks after we stalled last month, thanks to the owner for resolving so quickly. Took a bit of a scenic (walking) tour to get to GZ, so pleased to have a seat at GZ to sign log. Good to polish off another in the series.

#1958 (3/19 on a Saturday outing). An appropriate GZ. We're making slow but steady progess with this series. TFTC.
Good to go again. Some changes along the route have required some changes to the puzzle - apologies to those that have attempted this earlier unsuccessfully.
Checked tonight and there are a couple of issues here I need to sort - will do in next week or so.
All OK until we reached WP5, couldn't find the required number at all, even looking up to 50m away. GPSr was pointing 20m down Mercer St, where no trolley buses travel, maybe the number is a different sort from the previous 4?? I see another cacher also couldn't find this Wp but deduced it.
We didn't bother looking for the next 3 WPs after failing to find WP5 as we were on foot, and they were a distance away.

I started this one shortly after it was published and have gradually completed it over the last couple of weeks. Happened to be passing this morning and stopped to find the cache. I still two to do in this series, which I’m looking forward to completing. TFTC
Didn't fare so well with the puzzle initially but, after some help from a fellow passenger, I was soon disembarking at the required destination.
Found the waypoints *after* passing by the final last weekend-waited for this weekend to backtrack. Thanks for another intriguing puzzle.
5176 We enjoyed visiting the various waypoints around the CBD, even had one next to works' Wellington office. Had no problems with WP1, instead it was WP2 and WP5 for us. Did the park/run for some and drove around and around for the others. Final found in a logical place... Even saw an old trolley bus in action at the Foxton Trolley Bus museum on our trip home. TFTC.
This was a great multi-cache. As it was a fine and pleasant afternoon I did it all on foot and picked up the two other new Wellington City caches on the way. Rapidly realised the sort of thing I needed to be looking for - there were two at WP1 and I recorded both but one was closer to my GPS coordinates and that in fact was the correct one. Was not able to find a number at WP5 despite looking very carefully - either it has gone, or the waypoint coordinates are wrong, or I'm very stupid. However I could deduce what the numbers required from this must be from knowledge of what sort of place GZ had to be so this wasn't a show-stopper. All other waypoints were fine and I went straight to the cache, an instant find. Signed log, TFTC and the excuse for some very enjoyable afternoon exercise.
Mr Yeetrees and I decided we needed to take a ride on a trolley bus today, so we set about collecting the required info in the latest of the Go series.. The only tricky one was WP1 where it is hard to get good reception. We had 2 possible numbers, so made a note and then used the checksum to point to the correct one once all the WPs had been visited.
A nice exploration of the city, visiting plenty of familiar spots, but looking with a different perspective. Once calculated, the final coords were spot on, so we were able to make an instant find of the cache.

Was driving around town today and thought that I would go and have a look to see if I could find the required information. WP! was interesting, gather two choice and found the one that fitted correctly in the end. WP8 was the most challenging, was crossing the road on the pedestrian crossing like all good pedestrians should, when a van came flying pass me at a great speed swooping at the late minute and just missed me by millimetres to the amazement of other pedestrians and motorist in the area, maybe jay walking might be safer.
After a bit of an eventful hunt, got all the required information, and forwarded on to -gonefishing- to do the final finalities and then off to the final we went.
A quick find at the final GZ with -gonefishing-, was a really well constructed multi and really worth doing. Another Go series out of the way GO, GO, GO. TFTC TNLNSL, a great multi cache for another milestone. (2200)

Wasn't going to try this until I had some time in the weekend but a fire alarm at work got me out of the building. Rather than wait with the crowds I did a quick recce on WP2 & WP3. Returned to work totally flummoxed as to where a number could be at the position indicated by my GPS. An epiphany back at my desk led me to check on the way home.
Great "hide" for the numbers! Can't wait to hunt down all eight.

#1547. FTF @ 18:10. Another very interesting one in the Go series. Well we did spend more than an hour on this one. We went to the original WP1 (we see it has since been updated), and Mr h found a number that turned out to be incorrect. Proceeded to WP2. Pondered a little bit here, and there was another number there ... but pretty unlikely. Then Mrs h spotted something that is more likely. OK ... proceeded to WP3, spotted another number. By the time we got to WP4, we realised that we must have got the wrong number at WP1. Returned there and found another more likely number not too far away. Got to WP8 without too many issues. Then the fun started again. The checksum checked ok, but the calculated GZ was inaccessible and certainly did not fit with the expected GZ location as per the cache description. Forced to widen the search area to find the more likely locations. Argh ... not in the first three we looked ... but bingo on the fourth one, which turned out to be about 180 metres away from the calculated GZ. TNLNSL. TFTC.
Update 27/9/10: We have since found out that our numbers at WP1 and WP2 were different from those intended, but with compensating errors not affecting the checksum! We rechecked at WP1 and WP2 this morning, and with the correct numbers, the calculated GZ is now spot-on.

Congratulations to huhugrub on the FTF and apologies to anyone who may have attempted this and struggled at the first WP. Despite checking it twice it appears I was out by a bit too much.
