Over the last 3 days I've been visiting the Hawkes Bay a visit to catch up with a mate recently moved that way, but all good times must come to and end and today was the long drive home to the Horowhenua.
But of course that would still give me a chance to grab a few of the the TMGT/PWGT caches, avenging some previous DNFs, and even looking for an archived Skindo cache or two along the way, like this one.
I parked up nearby, and spent a few minutes trying to locate a the Hint object before I then read previous logs that made me realise I had been wasting my time. After that, the cache was a quick find thanks to accurate co-ords and a little geo-sense.
No problems with either the container or the log, which was swiftly signed before all was placed back exactly as found.
Thanks for setting this cache up.

We are up in Hawkes Bay for Labour Weekend to join in some family birthday celebrations. Naturally we fitted in a little geocaching as we travelled north today, fortunately by this stage in improving weather after the rain we had encountered earlier.
After completing “PWGT2 - Lindsay Bush” we noticed this was very close to where we were parked, so made a search. As logs say, the hint no longer applies but the cache can be found tucked at GL within 3 metres of GZ. We soon completed the formalities and tucked it back again. TFTC.

#12,547. A park, walk and grab in Waipukurau. Since our DNF here way back in July 2014, we returned after seeing the many finds since then. GZ was all quiet at the time of our visit. The cache was well hidden, and fortunately the finding did not take too long. The container was still in reasonable shape, and remained dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.
Thanks for the placement, and for bringing us to this site again, and …

The original container! Denominator found it whilst I was wondering how the dead deer head nearby got there.... 7 February 2021 13:57.
Down in the area for a rest with friends and for some caching. The are some interesting caches to be found. TFTC
I'm in Hawke's Bay for the day for a work event. However that only took up the morning, so the afternoon is my own so what to do but get a few caches before heading back home to Palmerston North.
heading back towards Palmerston North now and I've identified a pocket of half a dozen caches around Waipawa, Waipukarau and Takapau that I want to focus on for the trip home.
I found what I assumed where the remains of a cache. There seems to have been a bit of a major mishap here that has damaged the area. Everything was sodden and pretty gross

Hint still applies however as the rest of the fence has fallen down, it took us awhile to work out. TFTC
Second time here, quick stop for an easy find on my way to Gisborne for North Island National daffodil show. Thanks skindo for the cache.
Okay, it took me a while to find it, but I got there eventually.
I think "breach" might be a better hint though.
The travelling fox is satisfied =-_-=

We got up a bit late this morning but decided to head towards Hastings way get a few caches got a multi in Woodville and ten a few up on the hill side over looking this cache area. Another back road we had never been to before, some muggles left just as we arrived to ground zero great timing. A few trees had fallen down but the clue was still valid. found the cache signed the log and placed it back nicely where we found it. TFTC no onto get another cache near by. we have over 900 skindo caches we enjoy your series and the many caches you have put out over the years.
Took a wrong turn but eventually found it...was a lovely aventure for my mother and daughters and i. Tftc
Trying hard to reach a tally of 250 for July to claim a cache in Wairarapa we were running out of days. So, being the last day of the month, and despite the dismal weather forecast, we got up at 6am and were here by 8.30am to start. It was a very long day travelling around the wider Waipukurau, then down to Weber via Porangahau and back to Dannevirke to have fish and chips with my sister at 7.40pm. The last 11 cache attempts were done in the dark which was a first for us, and oh so hard! Got home around 10.45pm to our little dog who thought he had been abandoned forever. A great run and yes we achieved the numbers! It showed up our age as we were totally shattered and both struggled to find enthusiasm for work on Monday. Too many finds for individual logs so thanks to everyone who placed the caches found on the route.
Was on my way South from the Hawkes Bay last night and stoped in Waipawa to visit some relatives when the weather turn worst for wear, was offered a free bed and food and who in their right mind could turn down such a great offer, especially since the weather was getting worse and all the sirens at the local emergency services were going off every 5 seconds.
After spending a really peaceful night in a comfortable free accommodation woke up to a totally different day, no wind and clear blue skies. Had a good breakfast and then it was time to head South.
Arriving in Waipukarua, I decided that I needed a cache for the day so I decided that I would take a small detour and check this cache out, having being down here before, but didnt even get to GZ as there was a muggle parked at GZ with their caravan, and they looked like they were camped up there to stay for a little while so I decided to move on.
Arriving at GZ there wasn't even a sole to be seen, managed to find a park within 60 metres of GZ and it was a short easy walk to GZ. Arriving at GZ, I managed to spot the hiding spot for the cache, and it only took seconds to find the cache in the first spot that I looked. Signed and replaced as found and decided that this was a great time to make my way South as the Sun was just coming over the horizon.
What a great spot to watch the sunrise, thanks for placing the cache here and for bringing me to this love piece of bush, TFTC TNLNSL (10872)

We decided to head down this way from Napier to grab a few of the caches we had missed on our previous visit. This was our 7th find for the day. I was only in the little car today, so the gravel road made for some interesting bumps!
As previously mentioned, the fence has been broken, but the cache was quickly found thanks to the person who replaced it. While I was signing the log my son went for a quick walk down to the river.
Thanks for another cache Skindo!

On our way to visit family we returned here to find this cache. Nice quick find this time
Have looked at this one a few times as was still a green dot on map but never came to have a look since there were dnf's on it. Since it has a few finds on it now we thought we would come and have a look for it. Quick find early in the morning. Wouldn't be a road trip if we didn't find at least one skindo cache on a gravel road!! Tftc
Found today with treasure hunting Tim. Cache right where coordinates took us, took nothing but our daughter left some extra bits n pieces. Tftc
.I found the cache at the cords.the container, a brown plastic bottle with a green lid was empty . I have made a log and a zip loc bag and replaced the cache to the brace on the brokenfence. I hope i have done the right thing.
Stopped and had a good look around for this but no find. Fence has collapsed. This needs checking by the CO please.
Lovely spot, beautiful spot of river nearby. Logbook wet so didn't write down name.
Last cache to find before heading to find my motel and then get some dinner. Found the cache OK but its log sheet was missing so I have put some fresh paper in it (and signed same). TFTC, Biggles.
A quick easy find at this little reserve, before heading off to the Tukituki Motel in Waipukurau. TFTC
This one took me by surprise as I thought it was the next one along from the 40 South cache but after zooming in found it on the other side of the river.
Cheers for the cache.
Cheers for the cache.
This one was only 130 meters from where I was working today, great spot on the river and last job I had to do in this part of the country( back to Auckland tonight)
Thanks for the cache, I will have to return to do a few more caches in the area one day.

This one has been on the "to do" list for a while, and this morning we had the spare time to drive to the reserve. Thankfully all was quiet here today. Another place never visited before, thanks to geocaching.
Despite wanting to get on the new '52 On 52' cache trail, we opted to visit the Tuki Tuki Scenic Reserve first. So we were very disappointed when we arrived at the cache site to find people camping very close by. Didn't want to leave without the cache, so took a circuitous route to GZ to sign the log. Thanks.

The size of the Tuki Tuki reserve looked too too much for AV2 without a GPS and I really thought I would have to reserve this scenic reserve cache for another day - but the clue proved to be a winner once I had established just where in the reserve I should be. TFTC
Today together with PurdiePurdie the Cache was found . There was a Party going on just at the location . But the young
people had no clue what was happening just in front of their feet. Good fun , Tftc

TFTC. A reasonable drive in made Merlelutz and myself keen to have a go at this retrieval even though there was a gathering near where the GPS indicated GZ was. With stealth we were sucessful.
Was a bit further off the main road than expected but still a nice little reserve TFTC
A quick find. Looked a little forlorn here today after the recent wet weather. TFTC
The first cache of the day, between here and Wellington. A nice spot, but will need to return on a fine day to explore more. TFTC.
Didn't know this place exsisted but will bring family and friends visiting for a wonder through the bush.
What a great reserve certainly well set up. Took Kanga and will drop him off to explore some more.
nice easy Skindo fashion find
I agree with JNK why no camping
great spot thanks for bringing us here

this one was interesting, we were lazy and didn't look at the map first, after about 5 minutes of walking/bushacking, we realized we were on the wrong bank! soon figured out our mistake and found the very well hidden cache

We searched all of the obvious spots before spying the cache site through the scrub.Thanks.
great sunny day easy find , maybe a bigger container so we could put swaps in would of been nice.
5064 Nice spot for a cache, managed to put it back before a muggle turned up unexpectedly. TFTC.
Nice reserve under some lovely old trees. Lots of tracks along the river. We really appreciated the shady spot on this hot day, it was just like summer!
Thanks for another nice cache and another new place to explore. TFTC and another FTF for us. We're really enjoying our trip around the Hawkes Bay countryside today.
