The reason for this cache no longer exists thanks to my own Fire Brigades fuel reduction burn & it won't have the same meaning putting it elsewhere so this cache is now in Cache Heavan.

Am temporarily disabling this as my own Fire Brigade conducted a fuel reduction burn in this park yesterday & the cache is not more & the Noughts & Crosses Stump it was named after are no more
Will check out if there are any decent hiding holes left in a few days.

Not a pretty sight climbing the gate to get to this one. Lots of giggles and laughter with a nice easy find. TFTC
Night caching in the company of BoSelecta1.
This was my second (night cache in mid January) visit to this cache and appeared to be just frustrating but persistence paid off.
Nothing wrong with the co-ords, just the guy(s) holding the GPS and the searching!!
Nice hide, watch out for bull ants.

Parked down near the corner of the factory and jumped the gate and walked over to the cache. Not sure if that is the way in, but I couldn't see another way. Why is the gate locked...it doesn't seem like private land?? Anyway, cache was found and all was good.
Found on day two of my 2 day caching trip around the area. Thanks for the cache....

We had decided to leave this one back at the start of the year on a hot, dry day. Today with some cloud cover, spots of rain and a lower temp, it was perfect! Thanks for the cache.

The previous night I has swagged it up in Creswick to save having to drive up for the flash mob in the morning. I attended the flash mob with many other teams and talked for a lot longer that a flash mob should before decided to grab some caches on our way out. Muzza and Mr Coffee and the Coffee clan where to be the company.
After Muzza and I found a cache just up the road we took a look for this one with Mr Coffee as well. I jumped the fence while they both fitted past the gap reminding me I need to get more exercise. Just to prove a point on the return I made sure I would fit through the gap. TFTC

Found with C@H and the Coffees after the Ballarat Flashmob Caching event. Nice quick find. Thanks for the cache.
Another trip to Ballarat to grab another mystery and of course attend the Flash Mob Event. I seem to following muzza and co around as their names keep occurring in the log book.
After getting through the locked gate found my way to the cache area which was a little wet under foot but after caching for a few years you learn to wear sensible footwear.
Found the O & X's stump but no blocks, log signed and I was off to the next.
Thanks to 42below for another smiley.

Night 2 of our Ballarat Smackdown weekend with DazRascal, Blacklegend, Quasar3671 & Trailrunning which seen us collecting a great range of caches over 3 days, and this was one of them.
With 6 adults and 7 geokids with torches, it was just like daylight so the cache was quickly located. The mozzies are starting to come out, and we thought it was too cold... Wrong!
Many thanks for sharing this spot with us. TNLN SL.

One of 184 cache finds during our "Ballarat Smackdown" weekend of caching on the 23rd to 25th. There were 13 of us including Blacklegend and three of his kids, Trailrunning, Haveanez and their two boys, Dazrascal and myself amd my two boys Tyler and Cooper. We'd spent a few weeks planning the trip, with every Ballarat Puzzle solved in the area, cache lists and road and route maps all ready to go. We stayed in the Miners Retreat Motel for the two nights and the accomodation and facilities were great. Our goal was simple - find as many caches as possible in the time we were here !
We found a great variety of caches and hides during the three days, which also involved a bit of walking and some 4WD fun as well in the state forests north of Ballarat. The weather was quite cold of the Friday and Saturday morning but eventually cleared to nice sunny weather Saturday arvo and Sunday. We all had a great time, especially the kids who did really well to keep up with the pace we were moving.
Our second day of caching and it was to be our biggest day and fullest day too. Into the night caching now and after some dinner and a freshen up back at the accommodation we were back on the road. We parked and made the short walk to GZ, with torches blazing the trail ahead. Quick find and we were on our way. TFTC.

One of 182 caches I personally found during our "Ballarat Smackdown" trip. The trip included teams Quasar3671, Trailrunning, Haveanez, Dazrascal and myself. Caches included around 30 mystery caches, a few earth caches, lots of trads and multis and both day and night caching. Some 4WD action was encountered as well, which was great. All puzzles within 60kms were solved.
I took three of my kids, Jasmine 7yo, James and Jemma 5yo twins, traveling from Tocumwal. The trip covered 3 days and two nights, staying in Ballarat. Quasar3671 took his two boys as did Haveanez. One of the best caching trips I have been on, and certainly lots and lots of finds, almost clearing out the main Ballarat area. Home base was the Miners Retreat motel, which was quite pleasant and quiet.
This was a find on our massive Saturday run, which included both day and night caches. Lunch was a picnic in the bush at one or our cache stops. A night caching run was undertaken after a rest and dinner.
Short stroll and quick find in a likely spot. TFTC.

After a successful Friday evening to start off the “Ballarat Cache Smackdown” with 34 finds on the first day the Saturday was always going to be a day of superhuman effort. It started early with a run heading west and south, only to finish the day and night with a run to the Northwest and North. A great day was had by all because there was some good 4WDing and the weather held out for the day with only one notable shower. A total of 98 caches were collected today, and it shows you how quickly a cache can be located with so many searchers. This cache was one of them. A nice easy run into GZ for a quick find. Thanks for cache #113
Maintenance check with GeoIndydog and cache is fine. Mmmm too much good food and wine means it's now a tight squeeze going between the post & fence so resorted to climbing over gate on way out. Sad to see only the Noughts & Crosses "board" has survived, the Nought & Cross "game pieces" have dissappeared- a pity as it looked so funny in the middle of no where!
Sad to see councils slashing doeen't extend this far- I bet if it was my block looking like this I would be getting clean up letters!

Found on the wild side at 3:45pm. We appreciated the opportunity to walk around this lovely little park. The trees are growing nicely, it should make a lovely shady avenue in 20 years time! Took: keyring; left: campfire pathtag. SL TFTC 42below.
Went for a walk to try this cashe for a 3 ed time and called fallow cashéer stooy then found it
I found the locked gate so climbed over, I wonder why the council has seen fit to lock the gate on what I assume is public land. While walking to GZ I noticed a cairn paying tribute to a resident from Hawick (pronounced Hoik) in Scotland, the same place where my ancestors come from. A quick search at GZ soon had the cache in hand. log signed and then it was back to climb over the gate again. Thanks 42below for the cache.
First attempt at night, hiking on foot from nearby cache 'Dad's Rock' failed, so came back with the sun. Found unlocked gate and manage to navigate 4x4 geovehicle into gz Easy find with Aveen.
Discovered the Waldie early settler plaque on the way to the cache. Found with Old Boots and Phetlern friends. TFTC Greetings from New Zealand.

Found on a most enjoyable day's caching around Ballarat with June & Francis of "Hello Mrs" (NZ).
We were all able to squeeze past the nearby gate. It was interesting to read about the areas early residents on the plaque.
TNLN . . SL . . Thanks for the hunt 42below.

It was more like "Hopscotch" rather than Noughts'n'Crosses here today, hopping and dodging the puddles. Found with tacklehead during a few quick pick ups round town. Cache and contents completely dry. Thanks for the cache 42below, I never knew this area was here before today. Cheers.
Found with Sulli1 on this damp day as Sulli1 took interest in the nearby plaque - tftc 42below
Woo Hoo today we went back to have a 2nd look after some encouragement and nearly found it straight away we cant believe we didn't find it the first time
Found this one on our way to Ballarat for a three days caching blitz with Purpledreamer.
Nice quick find with no muggles about today.
Many thanks for the cache.

TFTC. Dropped of the Indy Down Under trackable here. Hope it makes it to Scotland safely!!
Decided to walk a roundabout way back to Wendouree station to look for caches. (And I ended up missing my train by less than a minute!) I didn't have any problem with the terrain getting in here, apart from the tight squeeze around the gate, but the smell from the nearby factory nearly made me give up and turn back! I hope that's not a regular event!

Took a little while to find the best path to gz (actually i don't think there really is one at this time of year) but just tried to find the least dense grass to avoid snakes. Luckily we didn't see any and once at gz it was an easy find
As soon as I looked past the gate all I could think was long grass = snakes . But managed to get to GZ & back, without injury.

Things were fairly dry today although the long grass made me walk noisily to GZ, where the cache was a quick find, thanks 42below.
Found on a drive around Ballarat. I ventured in after some more rain in the morning.
I decided to try the gumboots as suggested & it was well worth it as my knees were still soaked on the way in,
& luckily I found it pretty quick.

Found 29.10.10. at 0930hrs by Turps2. Tn. Ln. could see cache from a distance so I placed a bit more covering. thanks to 42below.
This was a bit tricky due to my GPS behaviour but after going 10 minutes around the cache finally got it . It was hidden very naturally and I really liked it.
Popped in here after doing Dad's Park.
After noticing water at the gate I opted for older footware and soon made my way to the amusing noughts and crosses.
By now I was being gently attacked by two magies. I soon had a stout stick in hand and was able to show the sort of defence that the St Kilda
FC lacked on grand final day.
The cache of course was no trouble to find.

Thanks

A suitable break in the weather was found and we enjoyed a rain free walk to GZ and the nicely hidden cache.
