Bad weather & unreliable transport forced me not to go to the beach. I spent 2 rainy days 6km down south on Qamea Island... Maybe next time
What a pity. Would have been great to know, if the cache is still there. But even if not, this place is worth a visit.

Well, that makes me really happy that another person found this beautiful spot! And no worries about including the locals in the search! That is part of the experience Hopefully this cache keeps going for a long time! So go to Qamea!
Adventurous geocaching!!
While visiting the date line yesterday (and verifying that the sign is at the right place ) I recognized this cache on Qamea.
And ready were the plans for today.
As suggested in the description the first thing I tried was to somehow make contact to this women called Ruthy. Unfortunatly this didn´t work.
So we decided to go to Qamea anyway and ordered a watertaxi to Maqai. When Bela and his mate (the watertaxi guys) arrived I talked them into following my GPSr signal to the cache location. At first they were quite sceptical but after explaining geocaching they became fellow treasure hunters
After a false and absolutely not advisable sidestop at the unfriendly Qamea resort (obviusly you´ll have to pay a lot of cash to stay on this beach) we found the right bay at the 2nd attempt. While searching for the right spot behind the beach another local arrived. I missed his name but he was very interrested in what I was doing climbing in the trees. Well, I had no chance. Again I explained the geocaching adventure and looked in a surprised face [B)]
As the first search wasn´t bringing anything I started searching for Adam and Daniel. When I found their place the people there told me, that both of them are gone at the moment. In this instant I was about to give up this quest. Looking at all the trees around I didn´t know, how to find the cache. But I gave it a last and final shot and baammm!!!! There it was
I cannot be more happy. After letting all the locals around promising to me to leave the cache at its place and keep it a secret we left the beautiful beach to Maqai. [^]
I´m still grinning thinking of this very special cache. Thanks to the owner and esspecially to all the friendly and helpful fijian people!! Vinaka and Moce!!
