Our first day ever for geo-caching and we didn't have any luck on this one. Did have some luck further up the track so returned and had a good luck around the bridge with no luck again. Hopefully it hasn't fallen off. Will follow this post to see if it turns up.
Didn't find it! First day at it so will have to go back and have another look

A beautiful area and a great swing bridge. The log was mush so we have replaced it with a write-in-the-rain sheet in a new plastic bag. TFTC

In the area over the school holidays and neat to be able to have time to do a couple of caches in the area, lovely spot, log is very wet however managed to sign just. Thanks for bringing me to the area
Out and about with Morriskiwi ,Tweeturtle and another hiking buddy today SL TFTC
Watched kayakers launching, which we later saw exiting at the "scary" bridge. TFTC
This was our last one out this way today, decided to make this our picnic spot and very nice it was too. Thanks to you and horsediva for placing these caches, we may come back and do the harder ones one day when our bodies play ball! Found after a short search. TFTC
Quick find just out of sight of kayakers, swimmers and a picnic. When I arrived and saw all the activity I thought there was no chance of getting the cache but once I figured out where it was it was an easy to grab and sign out of sight. Great bridge, TFTC
Had printed out a map of the area showing all caches, but somehow managed to miss this one when putting the co-ords in the GPS & writing down the hint. Only noticed it on the map when we were doing the fenceline track. Recognized the name on a sign as we drove in so thought we'd have a look around the area on the off chance of finding it. Was quite chuffed to find it with only the name to go on. TFTC
Find #888. After a walk around the Fenceline Loop, we decided it was time for a snack so we temporarily stopped caching and ate our (late) lunch. There were a few cars parked at the main Otaki Forks carpark - but we saw very few people during this time.
Eventually we started to head for the swingbridge, and then all of a sudden dozens of groups and people appeared out of nowhere. We stopped for a few minutes to take a look at the interesting Tararua National Park signs, and then on to the bridge. Luckily everyone had vanished and there was only a group eating lunch down at the river so it was an easy retrieve once we found it. Nice bridge, obviously they built it to allow quads across it as well. SL TFTC.

great day to visit the forks and try out the new GPS. Good hide but log a bit damp. TFTC
A quick find at the end of a three day trip over the Tararua Peaks. Thanks for the cache.
Last one for today on my way back to the carpark. Nice hide. TFTC. Sherlock Hood.
It was very quiet in the area today so we had no interuptions during our (short) hunt for this one. A great location and one which I will return to in the future. Thanks for bringing me here and TFTC
found on a very sunny day on way back from a walk, had a picnic under the bridge, very quiet and relaxing, tftc
Had tried for this a week earlier, but couldn't spend too much time looking as the place was very busy. Today, not so bad. . SL TFTC.
On the way out from a day trip. Thats a really solid swingbridge! Great picnic area. TFTC
The kids loved bouncing their way across the bridge. A lot of people about today, so kids 'played' until they had it found, quietly brought it to Dad to fill in, and put it back.
Out and about on a bit of a bushwalk all the way from Australia!
Sorry...not enough time to do a proper search so we had to pass on this one.
Thank you anyway from the folks of The Essendon Bushwalking Club.

Very busy today, but the cache is hidden away from highest concentration of muggles. TFTC!
Found this one before heading to the Waitewaewae Bridge and Gone Loopy caches. A great spot on a nice day. TFTC!
Dog did not like the bridge but crossed to find the hide. Was not keen on going back he would have preferred a dip through the river I think. SL TFTC
Very popular spot today -warm and sunny. Lots of sunbathers, picknickers, walkers and swimmers. No problem with the cache though, an easy find. SL, TFTC.
A lovely spot - very picturesque. A good straightforward hide, enjoyed in the company of edvern, possum&cleo and chrissy50. TFTC
Nice one. Found with geodatum, possum and Chrissy50. This bridge makes a much improved entrance to enjoying the walks and tramps in the Otaki Forks area.
This spot brought back memories of happy camping days here with our family and friends. No problems finding the cache with edvern, Chrissy50 and geodatum. TFTC.
#6 for the day. It was going to be #5, but was overrun with muggles setting out for the day when I first arrived, so diverted to the Caretaker's.
A nice quick find on the way to the final cache of the trip.

Would have been 8th cache for the day but getting tired and need an excuse to come back to the Otaki gorge again soon, so not at all sad at not finding it. Nice day with lots and lots of muggles about. Hard to find a park for the car in the car park. Will go further up the gorge next time.
You have to say the standard of swing bridge has improved over the years! An easy find for yeetrees and I on our Otaki Forks mission today (between hoards of muggles).

-gonefishing- found this one on our way in, thank goodness that we did that as when we can out the whole area was covered with muggles, a nice easy find in the end without any issues, thanks for bringing us to this great swing bridge, great day to be walking this walkway, will be back to go up to the top for a visit to Field Hutt. This was a DNF for us back in October- can't understand how as was an easy find this time. I suppose our geocaching senses have improved- back in October we had just started geocaching but now we have a few finds under our belt. We nabbed this one on our way in to the forest park to walk up to Kime Hut and back for an overnight new years tramp. Mild overcast morning which suited us well as we faced the big climb. Thanks for the hide- everything in good condition.
Impressive bridge.
I put my hand in the hiding spot a couple of times before I realised that I was touching the cache.
Thanks.

Thanks.
Quick find with Hugo the dog, who managed to make it the whole way, even though the view below was pretty scary for a little geohound! SL, TFTC.
TFTC. Quick find. Dog wasn't too sure on the swing bridge crossing. Last find of the day.
10-10-10 This was quite a sight.. The fairy half with MyCro Man in her pouch and Dante (the Dashcundt) under one arm and Lyka on a lease making their way across the bridge.. Love this bridge and amazed at its strength, yet sways so much... Stopped here after a short walk nearby to have a picnic.. Thanks for the cache as well..
Searched and searched while avoiding muggles, used the hint and log comments but we still couldn't find it. GPS was a little wobbly but appeared to give us a reasonable indication of where it should be so a bit of hair pulled out. We will keep watching other comments on this one and will come back to solve.
2TF. A great picnic spot and well patronized today. Had thoughts of what a great camping spot it would be be too but alas no camping allowed here. No problems with the find even with a couple of muggles approaching on the bridge, spotted it whilst "enjoying the view"

*FTF* located just a bit before midnight. This is certainly a wide pedestrian swing bridge and well constructed. Short search to find cache. SL TFTC
