As there's been no cache to find or log to sign for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.
Curse an out of date pocket query - and thanks to mobile broadband! Being a stubborn group we would have searched for longer without a quick online status check! Lovely spot - look forward to the resurrection!
Unfortunately the area which contained the cache has been extensively cleared and there is no place for a reasonable sized container. This is still a great place for an accessible view of the river and seat to enjoy a few moments.
I will set up another cache 100 metres down the road. Watch for GROTTO#4 AGAIN SHOALHAVEN ON SHOW

We did wander around a bit, looking for a spot that might fit the clue, but no luck.
The whole area has been scraped and smoothed by something like a bobcat, AND there were people over the road. The man across the road mowing actually moved his mower to our side and mowed there for a while.
I think it's possible that the cache has been taken away by the bobcat.... I hope I'm wrong.
Great view!

Found with the help of FoxesDownUnder, and found without too much difficulty, compared to alot of the other grotto caches. TFTC wandering stars.
Yey!! a nice easy one for the day! log looked nice and dry, must have been very recently replaced!! TFTC!
This lookout certainly gives you the opportunity to enjoy the Shoalhaven River and surrounds.
Finding a cache in this location was certainly a bonus.
Unfortunately we were unable to sign the log book as it was too wet. The container was about 1/3 full of water when we opened it. It makes you wonder how this could happen when the sealing devices look so good.
Perhaps a visit from the owner would be in order to address this situation.
Thanks for the great hide wandering stars and it was a real pleasure to do another cache of yours.

Sorry for providing a water logged cache for all the recent visitors. Not sure how the water got in as it should be water proof. Tt must be in sympathy with the thousands of water logged caches in Western NSW and Queensland. I will replace it and complete the maintenence on the next few days. Sorry for inconvenience but enjoy the view
Second of six caches today for the team, sporting a new GPS from Santa. Geokids very excited with find having had no success at previous location (Animal Snaps), but couldn't write in log as cache remains waterlogged as per previous log entries - the tide has certainly been up high. TFTC and for giving the geokids the enthusiasm for the remainder of the afternoon's searching.
My first Geo find, so exciting and can see I will be hooked in no time. The container was a little water logged, so I drained it but a replacement may be required. sunny girl1
In the area enjoying the views and decided to check on the cache. Discovered it full of water. Emptied it out, but the log is saturated (bag and all). Not much we could do. The log may need to be replaced.
Found with Mrs Gribbly and the kids a while ago - just realised I didn't log it

This was the first of the Grotto series we attempted. Great location and a quick find. We took some time to watch the activity on the river before moving on. TFTC wandering stars. [818]
Log only visit. There was water in the cache which I did my best to drain out. The log appeared to have been above the high tide mark in there and was slightly damp but not wet. Thanks for the hide and great view nearby.
I thought I might be in sight of the plant watering muggle across the road but fortunately when I reached GZ, I was out of his line of sight and free to hunt. Didn't take long to spot the container so I was in and out in a couple of minutes. I tooksome time to wander over to the fenceline and enjoy the view over the edge... Very tranquil this time of day... [^]

Well the Kalmlittleexplorers decided to head north for the two and a bit weeks of the school holidays, and returned to a town full of new caches!! Awfully frustrating sitting in QLD getting emails that there is a new cache only a few klms from home and there is nothing you can do.
This was our fourth find of the day (but not necessarily our fourth search). Nice easy find in an area that we have visited previously having friends that live just around the corner from GZ.
These are the types of caches the kids love, nice and easy to find and stuffed full of goodies!!

Out of this series of Grotto caches this would be the easiest to find and the one with the best views.
Thanks
Thanks
As I left the animal park the rain started, but with a bit more time to spare, it was time to check out the latest Grotto cache. Sitting in the car, rain pelting down, I was wondering why we do this? Not coming up with an answer that satisfied myself, I jumped out into the pouring rain and made a run for the relative protection of a nearby tree. Bingo. I don't find them this quickly very often. And I wouldn't have today if it had been dry. TNLN. Quickly signed the log and back to the car as quickly as possible. Total time out of the car - about 1 minute! Thanks wandering stars. Another great Shoalhaven River view - even through the rain.

South coast Invasion. The view from the lookout was, but a nice simple find, I hope it survives. Thanks.

Picked up on a cache hunt down south with Bower Bird and DeputyD0g. Lovely look out and great place for a cache. TFTC SL
A lovely view down to the river. We had tried this one before the event but muggles were having a picnic so we had to come back, where we made a easy hide TFTC
Last find before driving back to sydney. Didn't quite have time for all 6 Grotto caches...but we really enjoyed the 4 we managed to complete. Thanks for the cache series! ^_^
Brilliant views of Shoalhaven, finding last cache before heading back to Sydney. TFTC
We found GROTTO # 4 SHOALHAVEN ON SHOW (GC2FVAB) on a trip south to attend the Geocaching NSW - South Coast invasion caching event with Bower Bird and SherpaNT, my 11th of 19 finds and my 1410th overall find. The boots were reving up, nice quick find TNLNSL. Thanks for the cache, wandering stars. Deputy D0g.
A quick find in a nice vantage point. I walked most of the track before looking for caches ! TFTC!
A quick drive by. Not what I expected at all (the container), but the view is awesome.

A quick find in the failing light; we cheated and drove to this one. A quick wave to the neighbours across the road - a teacher at Lucy Junior's school on the way in and out. We did take the time to quickly admire the view down the river, quite serene at this time of night with no boats to break the silence. Thanks for the cache wandering stars

The first of three & a quick find. Boats below were making a V8 type of noise. Left a TB. Thanks.
As I did the complete walk not to long ago I went for the easy option and just drove by. Saw already a car parked and was worried a muggle might spoil the fun on this one till I saw the "muggle" doing some suspicious stuff!! It was nice to meet you Ruffasgutts4x4 and thanks for the help on another one!
This one was actually a bit tricky.

Bumped into wilbert67 here yesterday, and may I say it was nice to make your aquaintance, Cache signed I handed it onto wilbert67 before returning to it's hidey hole, Thanks for bringing us here Beaut views!
Today started off like any normal day got to work by 7 normal sort of stuff bouncing from one issue to the next then #1 daughter rang at 10 and said she was home and would I be able to come with her to pay homage to the Surfing gods for the start to our season.
Great idea
Finished up what I was doing and was in the water at Gerroa an hour later.
Didn’t last long when the spaghetti arms had no more to give so went for lunch at the local café, while watching a today tonight crew do a story about the area.
Then as we arrived home we realized our surf gods were pleased with our sacrifice (work) and had offered the opportunity of 2 FTF!!
