Found this about 5 years after my first DNF! Biking over the slip and around the area, espied the cache and thought it was going to be impossible to retrieve.... but then spotted another option, got my friend with long arms to help, and voila! Logbook is fairly disintegrated, I signed another piece of paper, photo attached. Thanks for the cache
I took my 3 young girls for an overnight tramp to Field Hut. They thoroughly enjoyed themselves! We found this just before we set off up the hill. I didn't have any spare waterproof paper with me, but really, the logsheet needs to be replaced. A more watertight container would be good too.
Thanks for choosing such a relevant hiding spot for this cache.

This was about as far from the access hole as it could be. Managed to retrieve it, but only with my arm inside the rusty metal thing up to my elbow...
One track done one to go.
Log dry but falling apart. Could do with some fresh paper.

Cool place, thanks for the cache horsediva
Unfortunately my plans for a decent day-tramp were spoiled by finding 2 other trampers vehicles had been broken into at Boielle flat carpark...
Hope the Police catch them!

No reception for miles so need to start your nav going a while back! Easy enough to find without accessing the description or hint
Kyb3r noticed the hint item, I noticed the hidey hole and got Kyb3r to retrieve in case of spiders.
Caching with lucypear. Great hint! I recognised this quickly being a massive nerd but we were having trouble. Saw it with a bit of light, reached in and made the find!
First time to explore the Otaki Forks area, beautiful spot- and had a great spot for some swimming- it wasn't even too cold either.
#6145. My family had arranged to visit a local farm this afternoon. While they were there I had a couple of hours spare to go and find some nearby geocaches. Headed down the road to Otaki Forks. Not sure that I have been here previously. But looking at all the nearby caches up on the tracks I will have to return soon to pick these up. Nice quick find once I read the hint. Signed the log and replaced the cache as found. Thanks for hiding the cache here horsediva.
Found today while out tramping up Otaki Forks with TwigNZ, stopped to pick this one up and then moved on. TFTC
This has been a major Caching weekend for me.
I spent many many hours traveling about 400Km yesterday around the Wairarapa, only to receive notification last night that there were 3 new caches to be found in the Otaki Forks area!
I woke up this morning to find that 2 of the 3 still hadn't had a FTF logged against them. The car was still filthy from having 5 geocachers jumping in and out of it yesterday, so after grabbing a few essentials (water, food, waterproof jacket, torch etc) I figured it was time to hit the road without worrying how muddy the access road would be.
Otaki Forks is a place that I have never previously visited, but always thought I would. Since discovering Geocaching last year I've had my mind on planning a visit here even more so!
The weather was due to be a bit wet today, but apart from the very occasional passing shower it was actually really good.
On arriving at this cache, I was feeling buoyant. There was little road traffic around, so I was able to head straight for the expected location, find the cache, and sign the log before returning everything back exactly as it was found.
Thank you for placing this cache, and giving me an even better excuse to visit the area.

Nice quick find, as we picked the cars up from the overnight carpark, after an overnight jaunt up to Waitewaewae Hut.
Always nice to be shown something historic, that is right in front of your eyes, but you don't even realise it.
TFTC!
with Orsom4some, and a bunch of Venturers

Found on way to Parawai Hut for a working bee. Lovely weather to be in the area. Tftc
Nice and easy find on Saturday morning. Went to Parawai Hut for a working bee for the weekend. TFTC
Found this after a 13k walk in the hills. Car muggles preparing to leave just as I arrived so had to look otherwise occupied for a while. TFTC.
We located GZ from afar- the hint objects certainly stands out from its surroundings. Had a peek in the nearby building before having a bit of trouble finding the cache. TFTC
Called past today but had no idea other than the coordinates what I was looking for. Searched the obvious placed and came up trumps. Nice hide. All good here. Signed the log an on my way. TFTC
Quick find before starting our tramp. Unfortunately I wasn't carrying a pen and couldn't sign the book. TFTC!
Nice walk up here and a nice quick find [^]

Arrived in the carpark late after flying down from Auckland and driving up from Wellington for the long weekend. Decided to find the cache in the evening before the muggles arrived in the morning, just as well a sense of feel was an effective means to find the cache. TFTC
Found it with "FrenchSuperTrampNiko" on our walking Te Araroa trail

Cache # 2,307 - Did with Violet Butterfly on a trip up the valley. Nice one here, took a little while to find the appropriate point of entry. A campervan drove by while we were signing the log yelling out "geocachers!", so obviously not quite a muggle. TNLNSL. TFTC!
Found while walking Te Araroa trail from Cape Reinga to Wellington. Came back to do this one as the weather watch was "severe" the first time! I was the "muggle" in the campervan!!!
Nice easy find just as the hint described it. Took a bit of time out while out here to take a look around as it must be 20 years since I was last out here. Awesome part of the country, thanks for bringing us out here again. SLTFTC
A morning caching in Otaki and Te Horo area. Park and grab for an easy find. Thanks for the cache.
Very clever hide, took a moment to spot but the penny dropped when I read the hint properly
TFTC. Nice way to start a tramp.

5.20pm. Mr JF regularly passed through here as a keen tramper in the 1960's. Not been back since. The area has been spruced up and changed a little since those days though the beauty of the valley remains.

#7234. Despite knowing the object to search, it still took quite a bit of finding. We tried groping and looking; in the end the looking technique won out. TFTC.
Took a few minutes and a bit of groping and peering to find the cache. No big walks for us today, so this was where we turned the car around. TFTC.
A final cache to 'celebrate' getting back to the car park after an overnight tramp, grabbing all the caches on the way to Field Hut. Need to work on my fitness! TFTC.
Fortunately the boiler wasn't fired up today. Lots of little hidey holes to put your hands into. Thanks to Princess-Emily she came up with the cache. TFTC
Did with Just-Lookin. She said I could stay up later tonight if I put my hands in the hidey holes. Found cache on the 2nd try. TFTC
Got back to the carpark after a tramp up to Kime overnighting at Field Hut and thought a nice easy one to end the day. Had the cache loaded in my cellphone and started to walk in the direction it looked to be in. After reaching the private property sign and seeing it was 189m up the bank I became a little confused. I got my GPS and plugged the coordinates into it. It pointed me to the correct place (not 189m up a bank). After filling out the form and wondering why my cellphone had gone bonkers, I finally clicked that I had, moments before starting to look for this cache, turned off the GPS on my phone. Whoops. Time for a rest I think. TFTC
Found while camping at the weekend at Otaki Forks, parked the car here to do a loop walk SL TFTC
Jimbob Jr now has his own account, so we are logging this cache which he found with his dad, Jimbob999. Tftc!
It was nice to get an easy cache after a long walk. I hadn't realised I had parked my car so close to a cache.

Again the race was on between Mr G and Miss G but Mr G triumphed again. Another beautiful spot, TFTC

Neat to be in the area over the school holidays and enjoy the bush. Good hide TFTC
Wellington Rangers found it with me while waiting for everyone to arrive to go tramping... nice distraction:)
Out and about with Morriskiwi ,Tweeturtle and another hiking buddy today SL TFTC
Very nice hide. TFTC!
PS: On our way back we had unexpectedly met our friends from Hastings ... wow ... the world (New Zealand) is not too big!

Great to see all the old historical equipment in the region reminding us of past activities. TFTC
Busy place out here today, managed to retrieve the cache without any problems though. TFTC
Back at the car after an interesting tramp - gale force winds, driving rain, flooded rivers and all that! Parked nearby, so easy to get to this one and sign the log before driving back home. Great area. TFTC
Find #885. Another cache for us in Otaki Forks today, and a late morning find. We parked up and soon located GZ to begin a search - this wasn't our first parking location for the day however, we decided to continue driving and park outside the Fenceline Loop track first. We found the cache after a short while, once we looking in the right hole! Effective hide. SL TFTC.
Thanks for this cache it was a drive bye for us as we had to pay for a nights stay. TFTC
Good hide and a nice weather resistant location. Again the new GPS was nice and accurate. TFTC
A quick find on Friday evening, before walking up to Field Hut in the dark on the first leg of our Labour weekend tramp. Thanks for the cache.
We walked up the very nice short track through the bush from the swingbridge carpark for this one. A nice hide in a very nice and interesting location. TFTC
Thanks to the hint it didn't take me long. It wasn't busy anyway on this rainy weekend morning
Greetings, chilifarmer

Had the pleasure of coinciding with Toa Cachers team as I arrived at the cache. Nice to meet you both! Cache was a little tricky to find, we both missed it on the first couple of searches even though we were looking in the right place. However persistence paid off, there was really only one place it was likely to be. Signed log, TFTC!
