there is a lot of deadfall at GZ so an owner visit might be in order to check on the cache considering how many folks haven't found it.
First DNF for the day.....we should have checked previous logs before stopping. This cache needs to be archived.
On third day we drove on the road for Cowra. We stopped here and started to searching but it was no luck for us so we moved on for the next cache.
3rd day, another one can't find with skyejam & sevabo but in bush and steep... diff 1.5 and terr 1.5??? Puzzled!!
The drive to the cache was quite pleasant but the fight with nature to retrieve it was not (nearly gave up a few times thinking, surely it's not in there!) Managed to find it, log book is damp but able to write on it.

After much deliberation and comparing of diaries, The Rats, Steeba and I eventually found a weekend that we could all commit to completing the lower (Southern) half of 'The Road Less Traveled' Series, along with some caching in Bathurst (which was actually the scene of our first combined geocaching trip nine years ago!). A last minute trip overseas for me cropped up; but I arranged it so that I could fly home just in time to not miss out on this caching extravaganza.
Friday night we headed to Abercrombie River via Goulburn (from Wollongong), and camped at the campsite there. Saturday saw us drive the lower (Southern) half of 'The Road Less Traveled' Series, ending up in Bathurst right on dinner time. We then found some local caches before staying at a friend's house for the night. On Sunday we headed back out to Oberon for some more caches and then did a couple of loops around Bathurst. We had originally planned to stay Sunday night, but once we clicked over 300 finds for the weekend the inspiration started to wane, and we all agreed to turn our heads for home.
Cheers

Nothing beats a "road trip". My find count had been suffering from the "rest of life" getting in the way of caching so along with Steeba and Hoojar a plan was hatched to go "beyond the Great Divide". The 2nd half of the TRLT looked to be the obvious solution. Under perfect skies and with gps loaded we hit the dirt roads.
Day 2 of our caching trip and we were out on the roads again. We headed to Oberon and some of the back roads around Bathurst before getting a few more caches in Bathurst. By days end we’d put a good dint in our "beyond the Great Divide" so decided to head for home. Thanks to all the CO’s of the caches we found along the way. Apologises for the template style log but with 300 finds for the weekend each container begins to look the same.

The Rats, Hoojar and myself made for the wider Bathurst area for a weekend finding some of TRLT series of caches.
The whole area was quite green and recent rains had meant the grass had exploded everywhere and was 3 or 4 foot high around many of the caches.
Not only did we find plenty of TRLT, there were many 'History of' caches found amongst others. Thanks to all the hiders. TFTC!

A long weekend camping / caching trip was suggested by a fellow cacher, and an event was organised. The main thing to consider on a long distance drive is how many caches along the route can be found.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.

In Bathurst for the "Invasion" Event. Spent the day finding caches as you do with a group. This location begged for a regular size cache - but a micro ???? A bit of a let down.

Thanks very much for the additional coords on a safe way to drive up to GZ. Four of us wound up 'attacking' from different sides until the micro (yes, a micro!) was finally located... This is a perfect location for a larger sized cache. Enjoyed the drive along the dirt road, was a very pretty tree-lined road. Thanks!

An afternoon cache hunt with the gang. I really felt this location deserved something larger than a micro. Still, the cache was found and the log signed and that's all that's needed!

Insanely long grass, just isn't safe to get this time of year. Thanks for taking us to the area though, lots of nice houses.
On holidays from WA and have wanted to grab this for a while. Finally made time today. TFTC
Day 79 of my trip to Brisbane.
Seventh day on the road, today we're headed for Young. We'll have brekky, do a few caches in Bathurst, then head off, caching the while. I'm a bit late with the logging, I'm home now, and have five days of caching to log, of which this is the fourth. Have I made 1000 caches on the trip? Today's twenty gets me to 994.
No 6 of 20 today. Thanks, Jenmen. We're on the way to Young. We turned off on the indicated side road, parked, and found the cache quickly with no problems. We had a bit of a walk and a look round, nice place.

I have driven past here many times so it was good that I had enough time to find the stretch of old highway and the cache, thanks.

Nice & simple, the classic micro container. My third find at the start of a long trip!
Thanks Jenman

Have been planning another trip down to Wagga Wagga. But had to postpone it while the Geo Dawg was recuperating from her knee operation and now she has recovered it is time to put the plan into action. Rather than travelling down the boring concrete strip called Hume. I decided to head out West through Bathurst, Blaney and then South to Cowra, Young hence Wagga Wagga with a view to complete the RGGT Series and find others caches of opportunity along the way. Not this trip anyway
My trip today was from Bathurst to Queanbeyan, stopping at a few caches along the way. This was the first one on my list. I searched around for a while before I was able to locate the cache.
My thanks to Jenmen for the cache.

Third stop on our Cowra expedition today. I was at the wrong spot for a little but eventually found another spot that matched the hint. TFTC.
This was on my list of caches to find and when I looked up its page, I thought it seemed familiar. When I drove to the spot, I found it certainly was familiar, but I continued on and located the cache. Before signing the log, I examined it closely and found that I had indeed found it about two years ago in my early days of caching. Somehow, I must have missed logging it, so now I'm able to cross it off the list.

6661 + 823 = 7484. Found during a great weekend caching in the Bathurst region with Sol de Lune.
Next stop and having tried this one in the wet last July and not finding it I was determined to grab it this time. We drove in as directed and made our way to (a dry) GZ. Quick find ! Happy with that !!!
Thanks Jenmen !

Anyway, we headed down and after a short search the cache was in hand.

I was searching in the wrong spot for a few minutes, then decided to try something that matched the hint a little further afield. That did the trick. Thanks
Had to be in Sydney for some family duties so we decided to grab a few caches on the way back home.
A quick find here today with Just a cacher.
Thanks for the cache Jenmen.

Only had time for a quick stop and that was obviously not enough time for me and this cache. There will be a next time though!
# 2573. After 3 weeks of travelling our holiday is about to end. Robmc and I are heading to Beechworth today.
A Micro out here!! It could have been an ammo can or bigger. Took quite a bit of searching to locate this one but finally got it. That bit of bitumen going nowhere is rather amusing. TFTC

Bathurst to Beechworth, the trip home with Bettyboo3747
What a weird bit of road that now runs at right angles to the highway!
We walked down the back and soon had the cache in hand.
Thanks, Robmc.

The place at the end of the road was a nice spot to stretch the legs and poke around for a geocache
I wouldn't recommend it for a morning tea or lunch spot, unless you like flies
The flies couldn't stop me searching for the cache though.
An initial sweep of the area produced nothing !! [:o]
I was getting scratched by the scenery and was ready to give up on this one
But I thought I would go back in for one more look
Yeah!! Sucker for punishment
One spot in particular had grabbed me attention on the first look and sure enough there was the cache lying just a bit deeper [^]

Scrambled around for a while looking for this one but in the end decided another day.
Find # 4165 on another trek south at the end of our winter escape trip.
Another good safe hide and a not so quick find, and then on the road again.
TFTC Jenmen,

Found while visiting Bathurst for the weekend and enjoyed the little detour to grab this little fella. Thanks for a well placed cache and the instructions a very useful to get to GZ safely Thanks again SL Cheers 4 now.
We decided to take the long way to this cache rather than go the direct route straight down a steep bank. Once near GZ a quick find was made. TFTC Jenmen
Admired the remaining houses nestled in trees as we dove to the cache. Thanks for the cache, Jenmen.
Found on a Saturday morning on a cachathon.
Plenty of possible hide locations but we found it and logged the micro sheet.
Many thanks to Jenman.

I saw a cache pop up on the radar, so I stopped on the side of the highway & had a closer look at the notes while walking down the slope.
Then I saw "DO NOT STOP ON THE HIGHWAY". Too late.

After breakfast in Blayney and heading for Bathurst we located this little cache resting, just waiting to be found.

Bathurst 11. Quite dense down near GZ, but it came out soon enough. A very friendly Emu in the paddock by the end of the old road. Thanks.

Our 4704th overall find.
Bush bashing to the GZ for a micro, not really our kind of cache but it sure was a cool spot to watch the storm roll in. I made the find while the girls waited in the car.

GPS all over the place on this one. No obvious geotrail which can be a help in this type of scrub. Used lots of trial and error and found it just when we were about to give up. Thanks.
Found it ! fairly easy find as I mpooed up the last of the recent caches in the Bathurst area. SL TFTC

Found this one in the dark as our last find for our little drive around the contryside and on our way home. A nice area that we have been to before - didn't think much of those bushes that seemed to get in my way towards GZ. The other Smelly had a pretty good laugh though!
Have never had reason to turn off the highway into this area but needing a find to cross another day off the calander I ventured out for this one.
Pulled up on the little bit of black top left from the old road and soon had the cache in hand and signed.
Still a bit of water in the low spots near the cache so be careful you don't get wet feet.

barked up the wrong tree first ! oopps then the gps settled and there was the cache, thanx for the short drive.
Was looking at some other new caches when this one popped up. with it so close to home I had to go for it.
Was pleased to find a virgin log and another *FTF* was in hand. Also crosses a date off as well.
Neat little spot that normally would be driven by.
