Out for a long hike around Clelland. And trying to find a few geocaches along the way.Stairs? Stairs? There are no friggin stairs anywhere near this one. That was a hard slog up from the Chinamans hut.But all is in good condition. TFTC
We followed the ETSA spur track to GZ. There was a convenient small track leading to almost GZ. Quick find. Great views

We were enjoying a trek around the Waterfall Gully area and found the track that led up 'The Stairs'. Climbing up and across was a bit slippery, but an awesome area Found the Cache safe and sound in it's hiding spot after a few months without a visit. Thanks for a cache in an awesome spot and another track discovered in this area.
Came close to this one. Will plan it better and complete soon. Looking forward to it
Awesome challenging cache! Came via the ETSA spur track and had to just follow my gps in the end, not much of a track through here. Cache took a sec to find but eventually spotted something out of place. TFTC!
I approached this one from above via the ETSA Spur Track, as I had just completed the T4.5 "Dihydrogen Monoxide" cache, so it made sense to walk up from that cache and over the hill to this one. The sat-lock was good for this one and the accurate coords led me straight to the cache. Log signed. Then descended down the very steep track and across the running creek and ended up in the back of a fenced off construction zone. No-one was about, so I skirted around the fences and then headed back down the hill on the main trail. A great adventure in rugged territory - enjoyed this one!
The barrier near the cache has been removed, we made our way down and over the creek. A slippery steep hill to go up, especially if you have no grip on your shoes. A nice little spot.
With having the public holiday today, david wazza and myself made a decision after yesterdays day out near murray bridge to do some more caching today. Today we included Jess Wrigley in our travels and decided to head up to the “famous” mount lofty summit walk (I had previously never been up here). A nice morning walks with a 6 caches being collected along the way. A nice view at the top with a café at the top to complete the journey.
Thanks for the cache.

With a public holiday free, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T), [@gridge98](http://coord.info/PRGKDMY) and I made a plan to do a morning hike up to Mount Lofty from Waterfall Gully. We found six traditional caches on the way up, and had one DNF on the hike down. This trail sure gets busy with walkers and joggers.
This area must have recently opened as there was a fence nearby that had been taken down. So we explored the ruins, and then realised where this cache was located. From the ruins, we found a couple of routes across the river (I took the high way across a log), and made the steep ascent up the rocky lesser used trail. [@gridge98](http://coord.info/PRGKDMY) made the cache find ahead of me, and we stamped the log appropriately. The steepness was sure apparent once a rest was had and we looked down. It was then on to returning the same way via the descent and crossing. Cheers TCandD - a good challenge indeed!

Found a few caches as well.

what stairs? Currently the only way to access this cache is from the top going down, then go back up again. The trail below is under track maintenance and is a construction zone, no hikers allowed. No one told me this and i hiked along a trail then went " off trail " to another trail ( in the construction zone ) and meet the workers. Then after explaining geocaching they where happy to see me going " off trail " again and up to this cache. All t3.5 earned here.
Found after parking on Mount Barker road and having a stroll around Cleland Conservation Park. Surprised at how many muggles were doing the same thing on a weekday.
Some stairs up to this one would have been very nice.
Thanks for the cache TCandD

Find a cache or continue on to the summit? A dilemma! Ok the cache should be easier. Not sure I was right. Great little adventure. Picked up TB. TFTC
Traveling over the country side collecting smileys.was an nice effort to get to this one but that is what makes caching fun.it wouldnt be enjoyable if it was easy.

AnyMules and I set out upon a little Mission. Start walking the Yurrebilla Trail and getting the caches along the way. Of course 'along the way' meant a few little detours away from the trail and back again.
Day 3: Eagle On The Hill to Greenhill. [^]
Stairs? What *&^$%# Stairs [?] The Chinaman revealed an overgrown track down to the creek on our third attempt. Once across that...nada. A few animal trails led off into the general direction so it was just a case of follow the needle until it pointed pretty well straight up. Plenty of loose rocks meant a stumble or two. [B)] Quite a few stops along the way and we eventually made it to GZ where we made and easy find. We would have loved to continue climbing to another cache but that would have taken us too far off Yurrebilla. Another day. So back down to the chinaman. Thanks TC&D

Found on a day out around the area with Brisal5. Good to knock off some of these.
This one mace have had a path and trail close to it when it was published, and there's one that shows on one of my maps, but there is no track past the Chinaman's these days.
A hard scramble up the slippery slope (as it has been raining) and we made it to GZ.
Log signed and replaced.
Now back to the bottom to continue our walk along the Yurrebilla.
Thanks for the cache TCandD. Found on 30 Mar 2017 at 12:39 pm. Find #4407.

As I was looking for a way to cross the creek through the path of less blackberry resistance, I remembered that I had tried to find this cache back in 2011 or so and failed. This time I was determined to find it. I could find no stairs and hardly any resemblance of a path so just hacked my way up the hill and just used the Geocache app to direct me. Once I got to GZ it was an easy find. Back in 2011, the GPS signal was dodgy so I never got close. Rather than going back to Chinaman's Hut I wanted to go up to the ETSA Spur. Just below the cache there is a bit of a trail and that eventually led me up the hill to track. Glad I had hiking boots but wish I had worn long pants as my legs got pretty scratched up. If this is a 3.5 star terrain difficulty I'd hate to see what a 4 is like. TFTC!
OMG I found it! Nearly killed me but I found it!
To get to this cache you have to cross a busy stream then walk up a seriously steep hill until you reach the cache.
Not advisable for children
Bring walking boots.
The views are incredible tho!

Man! Where do I start with this particular Cache?! I have to rely on Google-Map Satellite pics to show me where to actually look. (Phone is a non-compatible device) Ok... Up the STEEP hillside from the Chinaman's Hut ruins and when the track bends left go off it to the right and go to where the stairs are. I'm not sure if there are actually any stairs there be it natural or man made in the early day but there sure ain't anything that closely resembles stairs at GZ ha ha. Searching, searching, looking at my ordinary Sat-Pic of the red Google pointed dot to where GZ is, still can't find it. I wasn't gonna be defeated this time! I stopped and focussed. These park hides are usually near big rocks in/near old tree stumps or at base of trees. Oh joy, there's lots of those, but the right one was pretty much luckily guessed lol. Winner! Winner! Cache was in hand at 11:18 on Easter Sunday 2016. SL Fist-Pumped the air and took a pic (with a Stunning view behind it). TNLN TFTC for a great hide indeed, TCandD
Great! Pleased to find this one after walking down from another find - A Curious Cache.
Bit of a goat track to get here, but geokid #1 put in a mighty fine effort.
Great views east at GZ. Thanks for bringing us here.

Sort of going past this morning, so we finally stopped to go for a walk, and to find an older cache that has been burning a hole in the GPSr for years!
A nice walk down down down until we hit the super highway with it's hordes of foot traffic heading to and from Mt Lofty!
The short but steep scramble up to the cache wasn't so bad, don't know why we shied away from this previously!
A nice view of the comings and goings below.

Did'nt mind the stairs going up even though I lost the path way near GZ. Now, coming back down was another thing.... Great spot to watch the traffic go past. TFTC. Cheers
Cache hunting with Sebastbat.
After climbing the hills on the other
side of the creek, a nice easy one was
just what we wanted...
oh.
We're going on a cache hunt!!!
Sebastbat found a great place to cross
and the reason for the name for the cache
became apparent. We had to go quickly
as the sun was heading down, but grim
determination got us there, and back down
again with a couple of short pauses to admire the view.
Nice to see some friendly names in the log book!

Found it OK no worries, but I will admit to taking the low bridge over the creek.
Must be big stairs in your house is all I can say!! Great to get off the Lycra clad motorway that is the main track...just not sure where to go now!
This one had been on the radar for a while. What better way than to wander up here with some friends from Germany. They were in Adelaide for 2 weeks and caught up this arvo and wanted to see a waterfall (of sorts). Nothing like the father land but we toured around and walked a little.
clear skies!
clear skies!
Out with Laighside legends picking up some caches in the area, we got thwarted at well flowing creek but we found another approach from the top as we hiked along various trail in the park TFTC
Found It!
We tried the bottom approach but there was a creek with some water that stopped that. So we walked around to the top. Much easier from that direction!

Found by torchlight after a stroll down the hill, a creek crossing, and a scramble up the other side. Very entertaining at night, thanks for the adventure TCandD!
I'm over here on holiday at the moment and spent today plugging holes in my difficulty/terrain grid, and this was my fifth hole plugged for the day. Edit: turns out I screwed up; I had already grabbed this D/T rating with an earlier cache in the day. Doh!
Made my way in down from the lookout point on Mount Barker Road. Was surprised to find a whole bunch of people as I got to the bottom, I guess they came up from Waterfall Gully Road. Scrambled down to the stream and then made the scrambling scree slog up the slope to GZ. After signing the log it was a scramble back down with a couple of slides and then the walk back up to the car park.
Thanks!

2350 (CWT) GAFF1 (Late logging - 25/1/12) While on a 2 week road trip to Western NSW from Taree, NSW I grabbed a few caches while doing some 6,000 kms and now well into SA territory! With the sun setting @ 2032 this is another cache for the Night Caching thesis.
Coordinates good, cache nice and dry. Nice walk in the dark!
TNLN - used the Correct Site Marker.
Through for mileage: 3 Bros, Australia 2006, Aust Light houses, Iconic Bridges 2012, Signal 2006, ernies labyrinth (au), Travel GPS, CITO Tag, Baa, Neigh, and Oink geocoins, CITO Travel Tag, B2B ingot, Poker Face (Tracka-Bear), Goodbye Kitty, G’Day Aussie Thong, Venus von Willendorf, Jinne (clogs), Miss Backpack, Red Racing Ninja #4, and Olly the Orca Photo Wheel TBs, and trackable shirt.

The climb to this one can only be described as interesting. We felt a little uncomfortable going off track. We found what looked like a waterway and climbed up this. We found the cache in good condition. SL TFTC
Wow this was a pretty steep track going down, but a lot of fun. Found the cache quickly and headed down towards Chinaman's Hut. Crossing the log after getting the cache was pretty neat. TFTC.
Found "the stairs" trail, but was coming down from the top. The top part is a much easier trek than the bottom half. Found the cache in the third place I looked. Some nice views here.
Continued down the stairs (which was quite challenging), across the Indiana Jones bridge to the Chinaman's abode. Then joined the Mt Lofty superhighway crowd up the hill on a Saturday morning.
Signed the log. Thanks for the cache TCandD.

While I was close to this one I had to do it. Ended up getting carried away with the climb and went straight passed it. Easy to find. TFTC.
My previous attempt was coming from the top but couldn't find as GPSr went back and forth and the dusk was coming in fast. Then on another occasion, from the Chinaman, the torrent was too wide. Today managed to cross the creek and the fun began, but soon with lots of puffing and panting the treasure was in my hands. Took a TB as well. Thanks TCandD.
Was visiting this cache for the second while on an impromtu hike through Cleland in search of challenging terrain. This suits well. Dropped of Myfanwy TB, simply for the view. Hard to believe it's been 6 months.
Out on an afternoon caching hike with Tiger_Muffin and Malco!
The stairs weren't discovered until after finding the cache as we came from the top. Interesting descend though and an even more interesting crossing as the water in the creek was pretty high and the logs very slippery.
Surprisingly we bumped into another hiker on a slope that doesn't get many visitors.
Thanks for taking us to this great area TCandD

Accompanied by Tiger_muffin & *Cache_or_Check*.
Turned an ascent into a descent, and we were quite happy to do that as we were on the track above, and were facing a long walk back to our starting point. The discovery of a hidden trail was a great surprise and shortened our journey considerably.
Had some shonky coordinates in my GPS and went 48m passed the hide, so did more work coming back, but it wasn't too hard - all on the same level.
Thanks for the experience, TCandD

Found the chinamans hut and quickly spotted the stairs. Lauren decided to sit with the chinaman and have a drink while Nick went off exploring. Was quiet entertaining to watch Nick as he scooted aross the log on his butt, and climbed the stairs... it was even more entertaining when he fell down the stairs on the way back (only a small mark and swelling on his back.. although i now know why they call this game dangerous). Luckily it wasn't all for nothing as he found and signed the log. TFTC (and the laughs).
After leaving the family at Cleland for a bit while I went back to get the car (lucky me), I sneaked in this and "standing on the outside", so I came to this the long way round. Took a bit of a bush bash and a zigzag path, but the powelines were a great help to my course. The GZ was a little off, so I should have looked in the first place I thought it should have been. Finding the stairs was not too hard and the log walk across the creek was a bonus thrill too. I even got back to Cleland when I said I would ( now that's a first!).
During my holidays in Australia, after a visit to Cleland Wildlife park.
Very nice place.
Cache easy to find once you get there after quite a climb
Thank you for the cache.

Found with Team Jacks. Had a big brown snake come straight toward us about half way up the path!
Well, a challenge certainly sums up this beauty. Razor grass and blackberry in the creek crossing, 3.5 star terrain (more like 4-4.5) and 35% gradient to boot. Worth the effort!! Just to see the looks from a few people who could see me from Chinamans Hut, oh, and the view. TFTC TCandD
Think I saw the stairs after Dad returned, strange looking stairs, made me think of the stairs leading up to Shealob.
Kids loved the area, found in the company of mtbikeroz.

Found at 15:00 by Olga
A guy was just standing at the creek crossing. He didn't say anything as we noisily passed him. Olga had to take the low path, I took the log crossing.
A great set of stairs.

Couldn't climb the hill other side if river because I was with my 4y.o. Son at the time. ...but there was another family there that could and they did find it, so I guess we sorta did...
Excellent Cache. I had no idea this short cut was here. Will definately be using it to get around the park in future. Love a good climb. Now time to find the Freddo cache near this GZ. Thanks TCandD.
Found the track down from the top and made the deviation about 25 metres from the cache .
Co-ords seemed a bit out, but it saved us walking an extra 10 metres !

Continued down and on toward the next cache.

Chinaman pointed us in the right direction. Like a previous logger not much in the way of stairs so it was a scamble to GZ and back again. Glad we found it. TFTC
The Chinaman was his usual helpfull self today and directed me straight to the stairway. Pity it's in even worse condition than his abode however!
Definately a fun way to get a little exercise on a Saturday arvo.
Cheers & TFTC.

I have been this way before to place a rarely visited cache of my own. I knew the terrain and was prepared for the steep climb out of 1st creek. The cache was found in the last place I looked. Lots of sundew, orchids and wild flowers today. Also saw three drop bears. No worries they did not drop.
After finding the cache we transversed the ETSA spur and came down the old Castle track. Much easier than pushing down through that scrub again.
Now about that cache name? Surely it should be Total Lack of Stairs.
Awesome. Well done.

The Allchins felt like a run this afternoon so, after topping up with water and coal, set off to tackle 'The Stairs'. The elderly Allchin ran out of steam on the steep pinch just over the creek but the later model continued to steam on to the destination.
Based on Squizzie19’s log I think we can claim Silver for this one.

Found after getting a couple of others on the way.
A good climb up the stairs after a successful creek crossing.
I slipped over just above GZ and went for a buster. It took me a couple
of minutes to find my sunglasses. Lovely area with a great view of Mount Lofty.
There were some names (christian names) in the log before mine. so I don't know if I was first to find,
or not. They dated their visit 3-10-10. Maybe they were with the hider or they are a new team. So I am going to claim FTF until otherwise claimed by the group of 5 (First name was Simon). Anyway an excellent location for a cache. Thanks TCandD. I left $100.

Yes they did go with me. I had them give me an idea of what to rate the cache and what to put down for the clue but you are officially the first person to find it.
