Grabbing a couple of caches around town including the Ad Lab, no problems find the cache here, TFTC
Came for a look see if still here after the floods. Can see the high tide mark, about 2m above current. Cache safe and sound.
Thanks , found it at night in the dark , fun climb to get to and good spot! Black Beetles In The City
A quick find while in the area, been in central Otago for three an a half months for the cherry and stone fruit season now migrating back home to the far north of the north Island for the winter tftc.
I'm somewhat surprised I managed to find this cache still in place, after almost a year since the last log!! Lovely satisfaction. TFTC!!
A long weekend and we were heading to Karitane for the night. On our journey we stopped off for a few quick caches in the area. Quick find, all good here. Tftc
Heading home after a weekend in omakau catching up with a mate...making time for a few detours on the way ..
Nearly smuggled by a couple of blokes launching a boat in the river!!!

These caches in Palmerston are always on the list but usually left off due to time restraints and thinking I'll get here next time. Took the side step to grab this one today. However, I found a pill bottle with no log. Read the previous logs so then searched further for the plastic bag and log which was then an easy find. Put a replacement log in the pill container and replaced the old olg which wouldn't fit. Very peaceful down here this morning thanks Bitsprayer. TFTC # 13,293
heading to Christchurch and had a Trademe pick up in Palmerston so when I spotted this cache was only 400m away I just had to make a quick detour. Nice quick find but log in bag is not in a container and was lying in the open so I replaced it under the hint object. TFTC
A quick park and grab while out about heading to Cromwell for new years eve. Grabbing a few caches to get my numbers up so I can crack 2000 before the end of the year. TFTC
Found with CJ-Curry, always fun skimming stones, not sure who won on number of skips, but i'll say it was me
Hevic and I found this after a DNF that set my spirits low. I liked the idea of this cache, and I especially liked the seat. Once we found the cache (safe and sound), the two of us had some fun by skimming stones at the nearby bit of river. Cheers!
Today our cycletour of NZ takes us from Oamaru to Palmerston, and naturally we have to log a few caches along the way . Tftc!
Found with Granville86a on a lovely weekend for a caching trip to Palmerston. Thanks for your cache placement, lol once we got the right so of the rock and waded through all the long thigh high grass
A seat that is a bit different to what is usually associated with caches. Quite a good flow in the river.
I think even in flood time this river wouldn't be a raging one.
Cheers for the cache.
Cheers for the cache.
Gps led me on a wild goose chase but we got there thanks to recent log comments TFTC
We just bought some bread for breakfast. It was still warm. It is a nice spot for the dogs to plunge in the water and we for having breakfast........and of course to look for the cache.
At this stage there were a lot of branches on top of the seat, could find the cache after all

Day 3 of our 5 Day end of year geocaching trip. Today was our biggest day with 75finds and 4DNFs with most of them being park and grabs. The GPS lead us everywhere but the cache and in the end we had more luck without it. We didnt actually see the seat until after we found the cache. Cool seat though. Sorry for the late log but Thanks for the cache [purple]Our cache find: #3267[/purple] | [green]Cache of the Day: 39/75[/green] | [blue]Cache of our trip: 106/235[/blue]
5999. It took a bit of scrambling to uncover but we got there. Thanks for the cache. Rodney and Iris. One to go for our 6000th.
Returned with a good hint from the event to gz determined to find it. My pants were still dripping from the attempt an hour ago, but this time perseverance paid off and we had the cache in hand soon enough... TFTC!

When for a walk along the banks with the dogs and found cache on the way back. #483
Sadly we coudn't sit at GZ,to sign the Log Book,as a dead lot of trees have covered most of the big stone up,but enjoyed the drive down here.TFTC
The tree covering GZ means it is impossible to "Sit at the Shag" anymore, however we did have a sit down next to the river while we had our picnic lunch. TFTC

Was a bit hard to see what I was looking for as a tree near GZ has been cut down and covers GZ, fortunately the GPS pointed me to the right spot and cache was soon located. TFTC

We took the hard route to find this cache. With our GPS all over the place we were lead right away from the GZ, then right back round to it via the small bank covered in thigh-high grass soaked by the still-persistent rain. Oh joy. It was worth it though, a good hide! Thanks.
Passing through to Christchurch and stopped off to pick up a few around Palmerston
Found while on my way to Oamaru for the day. Did a few in Palmerston on the way.TFTC
After parting ways with the Earthbounds, we are having a slow and leisurely trip north with some sightseeing and of course some geocaching. Took a seat and the cache was soon in hand, logbook signed and cache returned. TFTC.
Last day in Dunedin for Sully1 and I as we visited as many caches as we could before making our way to Oamaru for the last night in NZ. The cold fierce wind today didn't deter us and the range of hides was once again a large one.
This was a nice find, thanks again Bitsprayer

Found along with bogonghazy after the Mega Event, while picking up as many as we could before leaving Dunedin and beginning the trek towards Christchurch and the inevitable trip home. Sadly the weather had begun to turn on us this morning, but like true Ozzie troopers we continued our NZ assault armed with raincoats. Thanks to the CO for placing this cache, and for bringing us here.
Found by The Empire
Day six of the NZ Mega invasion
Our time in Dunedin was over, we left early in the morning and set our sights on another night in Oamaru, before our flight from Christchurch back to Melbourne. This was one of the caches we found along the way. My thanks for the cache.

Another easy find in Palmerston - with park, collect and photo all taking under 2 minutes.
Interesting point raised by one team member as to whether it is legal for a farmer to fence off the riverbed? We think not!

This was another of the many caches stopped by with Roostaman on the way to Dunedin for the mega event, and we lost count of how many shag jokes we came up with as we retrieved this one. Cache was quickly located in the likely spot.
Gratias Bitsprayer.

Another great find on the Emvy_Us / Waiiti20 mega tour of the Southern South Island. TFTC
9913... No time to Sit at the Shag, because we hadn't Done Working, found with ishoot, nice view of the Shag river, TFTC.
The NZ Mega starts tonight, so I decided to spend the day travelling around this lovely area as I awaited a couple of Aussie teams who were also here for the event...
Grabbed this cache whilst travelling & taking in the fantastic views around the area... What an absolutely beautiful country to explore & photograph...
Thanks For The Cache Bitsprayer (Sorry for the generic logs)...

Find # 4451 and a total of 113 today with Marcus Vitruvius on the 3rd day of our NZ Mega trip, on the way south from Timaru to Dunedin. Another nice cache and hide and a quick find then on the way again. TNLNSL TFTC Bitsprayer,
Roostaman.
Roostaman.
If the cache ever gets washed away I am sure the rock seat will still be there for a new placement. Thanks for this one, found with YuGeo4 on our trip North.
Nice quiet place to sit and contemplate while signing the log book. Found with Aoraki Sheep.
Can see where the river has flooded before. Pleased this one is well out of the way of the river. Found with debsnz
I have been here fishing before, but today the Shag was in moderate flood and looked uninviting. You would need a pretty big flood to threaten the cache site. An easy find .... just follow the well worn track.
On a caching trip with ingidayna to Oamaru and surrounds to get 1000 finds. TFTC
Didn't sit on the seat but did enjoy skimming stones in the river. Beautiful here today. TFTC.
A nice day for a bit of stone skimming. We weren't quite sure how this one is a park and grab, as it was a little walk from where the sign said "road closed"!

From the ripples on the water, it looks like the ribver is tidal even way up here.
A short nighttime visit, not much happening down here in the evenings. TNLN Thanks.
