With Gap (of Fap and Gap) Were here for Geo Toroa (Dunedin Mega). Between flight cancellations and re-routing, things could only get better, right? But wait, theres more! Somewhere on our caching escapades, I dropped my wallet (Tuesday) Its still at large, so if anyone finds itOne of us usually drives, the other is the retriever. That works for us. Weve either logged caches with our separate handles, or weve used FANGS to sign the logbook. Using the latter handle is more for mental health and well being. Its tiring having to write 15 + characters on each logbook Weve joined MDF - Our BoP Teammates. Our goal is to put a few more smilies onto our geomap to the north of Dunedin. This was one of the caches we visited and found successfully. Thanks Bitsprayer. TFTC.
Down here for the Dunedin Geo Toroa Event from the sunny Bay of Plenty,Tauranga and are with some of Team BoP. Great to get together with our fellow cachers. Signed Logs MDF. (McJandals,Davidson clan & NZ Flossy)I am logging using the Cachly App and using their template option which helps with my memory for logging. I genuinely thank every CO for their time and effort put into these caches. Much appreciated.
Down in Dunedin for the Mega this weekend with McJandals and NZFLOSSY. Signed the log sheet MDF Thanks for the cache.
Down in Dunedin for the Mega event. Travelling with Davidsonclan and McJandals. Really fun to be out and about with the team and catching up with other cachers friends from everywhere. Thanks to all the organisers and all the COs for some great caches. It is certainly a lovely area of New Zealand TFTC
Would love to be fit enough to go to the top. The log book is falling apart. TFTC
Quick and easy find looking across at the rolling hills on farmland. Thanks for the pineconesThanks
After lunch we went for a drive to find a few more caches around the Palmerston area. Found in the first place checked. Nice to see the other side of the hill we climbed earlier on today. TFTC, Biggles.
On holiday in the area and must be nuts coming out in rain. Dressed in overtrousers and jackets off we went. Had some dry spells. Enjoyed our explore and drive around. Nice view from this side. Thanks for the cache Bitsprayer.
Visiting a friend in the area and took the opportunity to check out some of the local caches.
Found this one nice and dry. TFTC.

Did not get this one years ago when I was in the area. I think I missed the turn off. Back today to wipe out the area of Trads.
A long weekend and we were heading to Karitane for the night. On our journey we stopped off for a few quick caches in the area. Had been passed this one some time ago. The GPS kept jumping around on me that time so I had a blue sad face here. Today I was happy to make that face yellow very quickly. Tftc
Another day doing the caching rounds. Decided to stick a bit closer to where we are staying today and try to clean this area up.
No problems with parking or finding this one. tftc

Was out getting the rainbow caches and figured, why not keep going to grab this one? Quick find. Cache all good. Tftc
Climbed that hill about 35 years ago, always good to see it when returning to Dunedin
A quick and easy find. Cheers
Easter holidays, and a road trip to Milford Sound. Today we drove from Timaru to Dunedin with lovely weather.
Thanks to all CO's for placing and maintaining their caches. Cheers

A blue sad face here for me today. My compass on my phone kept directing me to both sides of the road. Searched the bases of a few things but couldn’t find it.
Today is grabbing some caches to reach my 2500 which I plan to do at the top of Palmerston Hill so with that in mind I needed to grab 12 today before facing the hill and this was one of them. Thanks for bringing us on a different road in giving us a different view of the section of the network. The Muggle friend I had is used to getting request for truck for permits on these roads and could see what they look like, so win-win. Now onto the next one.
I always look up at that monument on the hill as I pass through and want to do the walk up but there's always some reason (usually time) that I don't. It is on the list for today but it's too hot and there's other caches I also want to find so it will have to wait for another day. TFTC # 11,452
Heading to the Oamaru Geofest so a wee drive around Palmerston to collect a few caches. TFTC

A quick park and grab as we head into Palmerton for a coffee. It's starting to rain and got a few more to find before we get there. So TFTC ?
What a great monument up there at the top. Must have taken a bit of an effort to erect it.
Cheers for the cache.
Cheers for the cache.
Love my new car GPS, but I am going round in circles ! Signed log as PEGS - a group from Southland going to the Mega.
Nice little detour on our way to Palmerston, nice & green in spite of the lack of rain in this area. (cache was found out in the open.)

A very easy find - too easy actually, the cache was sitting out in the open so I pushed in back further and covered it slightly. Cheers for the cache Bitsprayer.
Nice quick find on the way home - will need to come back another day for the one at the top... TFTC!!

Found at 8:14:00 a.m. on 8/10/2013.
Stopped on the road but it was unlikely that anything would go past in the time it takes to sign the log-book.

First of the day on a sunny Sunday run to Palmy.
Good views of the hill from here, glad i've got the one at the top already, as going up there today would be hard yakka and it's hard enough already.

Very quiet on this road which is just as well as not a lot of room to park. This was a quick find. Found with debsnz
This one will do me fine. Heafudd M is going to come and climb the hill another day. TFTC
A nice day to go North to collect a few logs on this special day .. the 12th of Decenber. Found the cache safely nestled in its hidey-hole.
Not the first time in this area, but definately not been on this road....have looked down on it though. Thanks Bitsprayer

Found on a day mission to palmerston to get these green boxes, found with wethreefourdices TFTC
Great view from here. Cache was out in the open so I put it back where it looked liked it should be. TFTC
Our chance to drive through the farmland we looked down on from JM's memorial tower.
Oldest son said "Daaaaddd, can we do one more geocache?". How could I resist that? Nice quick find by the boys. TFTC!
Cache had rolled downhill so we found it easier I think. Put back where it belonged. TFTC.
Found with Mr B on our run from Dunedin up to Oamaru. We had seen the hillside above us before so it was good to circle it a bit closer. TFTC.
Mama has to work today but Granville is visiting from Invercargill so he, Papa and Guwapo packed into the CacheMobile and headed out for a days caching. Parked and grabbed. That hill doesn't look any less of a hike from this side - maybe another day! Salamat!
A quick easy find at a quiet location with only the deer across the road to observe us. TFTC
Nice to have a trip aorund the dark side. Not a road often traveled by me but the land area on the other side of Puketapu is quite deceptive when you see it like this.
Thanks

First to log but not first to find. Others have been here! I recall trying this road to see if you could get up onto Puketapu this way back when I did the cache up there.
First cache of the day. Hoping for FTF, but there were unlogged finds from yesterday.
A great spot for Pohutukawa to get a FTF - its just in the shadow of his first official find with the "Pohutukawa" name rather than team Moneydork.
Took Pohutukawa a little bit to find the cache. Still surprised that noone had found it yet. Cheers Gav [6516/FTF]
