Making our way towards home over the next few weeks travelling with 2 dogs and a cat we have found caching a great way to give the fur babies a break. Thanks to the COs for placing and maintaining.
Away for a few days on Eyre Peninsula to try and get some more caches.Lot's of driving between the caches this time.Luckily I left when I did, as the next night there was a big storm and large hail. That wouldn't have been fun in the swag.Eventaully spotted it.TFTC
I was meant to go home but on a beautiful day what else would I rather do Caching of course tftc
Thought I would go home via my road less travelled today to collect these caches that have been sitting on my map untouched for far too long. Wrong season for action, but a quick find and another smiley on my map. TFTC!
On my way to Port Lincoln for 3 nights. Haven't been down this way before so going to have a bit of a look around. First impressions are very good
TFTC 5grains your cache Tally Ho # 3 that we found today. This is our last few days in Cowell. Tomorrow we will be packing up camp in preparation for a trip back to Whyalla and then onto Yorke Peninsula as per or original plan. The trip today took us out to Arno Bay and Port Neill. A good day caching 2 Earthcaches, 3 multis and 18 trads. A new LGA on top of all that. Find Count: 17627
Sadly wrong time of the year to have seen a hunt happening. Thanks 5 grains for this cache
Day 2 at Cowell and we headed out early to beat the heat. We had a plan that soon went out the window so we just cached the day away like we usually do. Lots of Lightning and Thunder around! ....a quick find here TFTC
My 10th and last day of my trip heading to and around the Eyre Peninsular. I stayed at Cleve overnight before finally making my way home after a great 10 days away. This cache would be find number 7 of 19 for the day and find Number 235 in total for this trip away.
Quick stop off on my way back home.

Found as we headed south towards Port Lincoln during a trip to Eyre Peninsula for a few days. Thanks for the cache 5grains!
Headed up to the North West a bit with Purrfect Di to avoid the rains back home.
Turned out this worked quite well as we only had a couple of showers for the whole weekend and saw some great scenery and found the odd cache or two!
Interesting to learn of the horse riding antics of the locals around here.
Many thanks to 5grains for placing and maintaining this cache on our SA geo-map

Travelling around - searching, spotting and signing cache logs using some or all of the resources of GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife), Whereyougo, Garmin Montana 750i, Montana 680t, Etrex 35, Samsung S21u, Samsung S9, with Geocaching App, c:Geo, or Geooh Go, and Android Auto and other maps... or often with just a guyess or plain old dumb luck
Plenty of that luck stuff actually !!!
*All the online logs are composed and published with GSAK of course.*
---
Beware! Caching is a very hazardous activity!
Look out for sand, mud, snakes, surprise cliffs, roos, wombats, things falling from trees, bulldust, and floods, and sharp rocks in your tyres
try not to get tetanus from rusty mint tins and don't fall off your ladder...
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- and do watch out for germs and bugs !!! . [xx(]
Make Travel Bugs the Only bugs you share and pass on
Keep your distance - cache the countryside
Really fantastic of all those placing quality caches out and about around the country areas,
in sensible safe places especially! - it keeps our game safe, fun, and interesting
Thanks so much for reading all this extra addition to the log word count! There's a challenge somewhere out there, apparently! You win a virtual smiley for the effort and getting to the end of the log Maybe if I worked out where I could do it and go back to normal logs again !

We didn't see any horses about today. Thanks for the cache 5grains.

We are still on the Eyre Peninsula and touring with ilook4geo. Today we were blown a bit further north by the wild winds but managed to stop along the way to pick up some caches as well. Managed to find all we had listed for the day and enjoyed the finds. All logs were signed to keep the paperwork in order and the caches were then put back into place. Thank you to 5grains for placing this cache.
Heading north today with a strong wind behind. Stopped to find various caches. Signed the logs to record our visit, replaced all as found. Job done! TFTC.
Quick drive by on way to Port Lincoln . Nice cool day cake over on ferry ride . TFTC
A nice easy roadside park and grab.
Thanks for the cache 5grains.

After a great free camp night (Rex spent most of the night mousing) we headed off to Arno Bay. More caching along the way and then an afternoon of R&R as the rain came when we got to the campsite.
Had a super camp supper until Rex ran away because he was scared of the champagne bottle pop. Thankfully after searching for him for a hour he slunk back to camp.
Enjoyed our caching today. TFTC

After staying in port Lincoln for double the length of time planned it was finally time to head home today after getting the car all fixed up. With a 6.5hour drive i stopped a few times along the way to pick up a few caches along the way.

Our last day of our trip collecting a few along the way to stretch our legs with the odd side trip, a few horses in the paddock but in relaxation mode, quick find for us today

Quick find, surprised it has been awhile since it's been found. It's in great condition. TFTC
Loved reading to description - pity we won’t be here to see the sight this weekend. Quick find.
Staying at the Pt Gibbon camping ground, and doing a tour of the local sites gave me the opportunity to do some caching, and this was one of my finds for the day. No events here today, but a cache was found. Log and container both in good condition. TFTC.
Didn't see any horses here today. We were doing a road trip to Port Lincoln and made this find.

Travelling Australia since March 2014 it has been a while since in SA but enjoying this visit greatly.
Moving today from Cowell, we stopped in Port Gibbon and Arno Bay and unhitched so we cache around the area without the caravan on tow.
Arrived late afternoon in Port Neill and explored the general area before sunset. Nice to see some sunshine and less wind after the last few days.

Some fascinating info here on how modern day "hunts" are conducted that we had no idea about. Thanks 5grains.
CPwanderer, GoodLook and I headed off for a weekend in Port Lincoln via an overnight stop in Whyalla
Our weekend was unexpectedly extended by a day due to illness and so my tally at the end of the 'weekend' was 168 cache finds
Sadly this was marred by a massive 28 DNFs
Port Lincoln, despite being virgin caching territory for all 3 of us, did not provide us with the pleasure that we had anticipated
So many of the caches were bison tubes and those that we did find, quite often were in places where a larger cache could have been hidden The other issue was the lack of maintenance on many caches
There are people trying their best to maintain the 'wheres wolly' cache hides however their resources are stretched thinly..... so if you are heading over, please pack heaps of cache maintenance containers, bags and log books and help out where you can. [^]
That being said, the trip was still a blast and some great caches were found and great views were seen!
Interesting that the hunt no longer chases live animals.... yet it sounds like there is still a lot of colour and spectacle and fun to be enjoyed [^]

Hi there 5grains.
We found your cache **"Tally Ho # 3"** at 10:18:00 AM today. This cache makes our find count 13818.
We thoroughly enjoyed our trip around the local area today. We usually start the day off by nominating a cache some distance away from our camp site and then take a route mainly determined by the next closest cache according to our GPS. Today we thought that it would be nice to visit Arno Bay to have one of their "arnormous" hamburgers for lunch..
We ended up finding 19 & DNFing 0 caches today.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found your cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** Smiley Badge.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

Off on a caching adventure with GoodLook on the Easter long weekend!! We had perfect weather and, for the route we were taking, surprisingly little traffic! Our target was the Cleve Cowell area althouth we started way before this. Our biggest challenge was the lack of anything open, apart from roadhouses, on the Friday and Saturday!!
Found after a short search!!
Found after a short search!!
Found whilst on a fabulous Easter long weekend caching trip with CPwanderer travelling from Adelaide to the Eyre Peninsula.
Today has been filled with much of the same as yesterday - fun, laughter and lots of crazy caching adventures [^] ....as well as flies (that were very friendly and seemed to like riding in the air conditioned car with us), HUGE and hungry ants (ouch!), a large nest of spiky caterpillars, cute little kangaroos and even having a close call with a DEATH ADDER SNAKE - keep in mind I was with CP!!
Thanks for the cache 5grains

Cache found !!
Virtual fox sniffed out and deaded !!

Unfortunately I left my GeoKit at home and haven't got any spares with me.
If the next Geocacher could please drop a new log in this cache, it would be awesome.
Found, but no room to sign

4657 Found by baby&Mrs gopher on our wander down to the south of the Eyre Peninsular at 1140. The Mrs now knows what a strainer buckle is. Nice view across the wheat paddock. SL Tnx 5grains
A trip to Adelaide for a wedding saw me packing up my geocaching supplies in hope that I may be able to convince geo-hubby that he should come out with me (he hasn't been keen in the past!)... I did not say anything about it on the way, knowing that he wanted to get to town asap to spend some man time with the groom. Lo and behold he brought it up around Cowell only an hour or so into the trip, wondering if there would be "any geocaches in this area". Obviously didn't realise just how many have been hidden! Didn't take me long to whip out the GPS and choose a couple to find, larger ones then micros to hopefully keep him interested! This made for a weekend FULL of geocaching on our way over and back and all weekend through the beautiful Barossa. Found this late on the Sunday, almost home. TNLNSL TFTC!
Found by Mary & David at 1030. Stayed at Cowell last night. Today, we cached our way to Port Lincoln, where we'll spend a couple of days. A beautiful day again. What a sight the Hunt must be in this scenery. Our thanks to 5grains.
A caching stop on my drive from Port Lincoln to Whyalla. Thanks for hiding this cache 5grains.
TFTC.12.50. From Perth to Melbourne is our last vacation journey in Australia, along this route, we look for caches. Greetings from the Netherlands
Day twelve of my holidays, heading to Port Augusta from Port Lincoln. There were so many caches I could have done, but I just picked around 20 spread out along the route. This was another quick find.
My thanks to 5grains for the cache.

Nice quick find although I should never stand in a ant pile when signing log book
After our salvage operation at Cummins yesterday, today was for caching as we made our way home .
What a strange sport - a hunt club without any hunting .
Sounds like a road trip without any caching [xx(][B)][?].
