Freeing up the location for new caches

02-Nov-13
Was checking on Pasta 1 after a couple of dnf's and found that Pasta 5 is missing too. Will disable for a few days to let anyone who's searched for it recently see that it's missing then archive to free up the location.

Had a hunt but no luck...it's local do we will try again another day...

Well, I didn't think that I would ever go back to look for this one after all the effort last time revealed nothing. After a conversation with a fellow cacher I was much better informed, and found the blighter pretty well straight away. Damb good camo on it too, pity the log paper is totally soaked and is unable to be written on.

Made a detour on way home from the gym to find a couple of caches hidden in Eskdale Reserve. Found this one quite easily this time. First attempt was 6 months ago after a long search. The log is actually falling apart. Unfortunately I didn't have any paper with me. Nice camo. TFTC.

23-Sep-12
Stopped by for a quick visit to check it out as I have't been this way for a while. Actually took me a while to find it as it had been hidden VERY well by a previous finder so I returned it to it's original location, should be a bit easier to find now.

Remember, read the hints carefully and don't get too hung up looking for an X. The X is actually on the cache itself and you will only see it when you are looking directly at the cache and very carefully at that!

12-Sep-12
Spent nearly an hour looking everywhere and everything that remotely looked like an "X", and some that didn't look like an "X". I'm afraid this one will forever remain a DNF, as I don't intend wasting any more time on it.

01-Sep-12
Almost gave up. Very clever camouflage aided by several months of not being found so was covered by masses of cobwebs and debris making it even more challenging.

Third time - success Smile. Had PAF to check I was looking on the correct side of the track, just hadn't looked close enough. Took less than a minute to find this time - mind you i'ld looked everywhere else before. Great camo, have added to my favourites even though it frustrated me. Now I'm of to make Orz... well actually, to make Anzac buscuits - they're my dads favourite and it's his birthday tomorrow. TFTC

Read the logs and hint but with co-ords all over the place and half an hour spent hither and thither - was just not able to locate. Lost count of how many 'X marks the spot' possibilities I checked out. Can relate to BaldEd's frustration and considering changing my 'handle' to BlindPugh. Such a nice walkway that I shall return again for round two.

Out on the motorbike having a Friday afternoon cruise around some of the local caches that have been on my unfound list for ages. Arrived at GZ from pasta1 and commenced searching in the most likely place. That was unsuccessful so moved on to the second...third...fourth...millionth most likely places without luck. Decided to pack it in as there had been no finds within the past year. Picked up my motorbike gear and BAM, there it was, right under my stuff. Duh Razz TFTC - great camo job!

Liked the camo but still was a pretty quick find.

Found a fairly obvious hint clue but try as I might I couldn't find the cache. Spent 10 mins slipping and sliding all over the place on the muddy slope and ended up lying on the ground. Yuk! Time to head for home for a clean-up and lunch.

Again, been here a couple of times with no luck but Morris Magic showed us the way in no time at all.

Looked, and looked and looked.... nearly gave up, and then while getting out the mozzie repellent Mr GM123 found it - phew!

Walked on from Pasta 1. A nice walkway we haven't seen before. Took us a while to spot the cache. Very well camoflaged. Needed to look closely over a wide area. Thanks.

Off to get a few of the close to home caches done. This one had me going for quite a while. Found the item in the clue but after a PAF I had to widen my search area.

Cheers for the cache.

Put us down for a DNF on this one. Found the clue, but the elusive cache was quite well hidden.

Parked near Needle Island and enjoyed the rock hopping across the stream to the cache. No worries with the find, very well hidden and great camo. TFTC

Nice hide, GPS a bit over the place despite the great sunshine, found after about 10 mins.

Keep up the nice series, fiancee happy for me to try out your recipes on her.

After searching for awhile I decided that I was actually searching in the wrong spot, radar was pointing me to another spot. Although i had a look here I couldn't come up with the treasure. As i'd already had a muggel on wheels go past in both directions and I could here the other 3 'out for a walk' muggles returning after 15 minutes, I felt it was time to retreat and return another day (you can only get away with watching the ducklings in the creek, when they are actually there).

27-Oct-10
Finally in the area to check out the latest pasta hide. Took some finding this one but eventually had the well camoed cache in hand T4TC.

Was just settling down for a hot chocolate and thought i would just catch up on the emails... well when a new cache pops up 2mins old and only 1 mile away you just gotta go don't you... had been there for a few minutes with the GPS turning me around like a spinning top when FMZ turned up... after a rather extensive search finally FMZ had cache in hand at 21:08... nice cammo job, TFTC joint FTF (#6) with FMZ Big GrinBig GrinBig Grin

Wasn't too far away, heading home, when this cache was published so made a small detour to take a look. Finding a way in took some time, but ended up goign in through Lauderdale Reserve and making a rather precarious crossing of the stream. Arrived at GZ shortly thereafter and spotted Rhodzrunner already searching. We were looking equally for the cache and for an X, and when we had spotted one (the wrong one entirely, incidentally) we fixated on a certain area. It was only after finally giving up on that area we found the cache in a spot we had both looked at before, but it just kind of caught my eye. Didn't notice the X at all until we put the cache back. Nice one! Joint FTF with RR Big Grin, TFTC!!! Big Grin
