Made that a T3.5 coming from the PX track. Still surprised its one a 2T. Anyway, easy find thank goodness. TFTC, SL at 11:40am.

I had two goals today - finish the OCR series and get a multi that I had been working on for three years. Realised just near Chiltern that I had forgotten my ladder so the first would be a fail but did succeed with the other and hit some good caches today (quality definitely over quantity today) and lifted my D/T average slightly).Came up here for the nearby puzzle and because I couldnt find what I needed went down to the one. Was a Quick find though smaller than I was expecting.TFTC kaspers (and to Bingley3683 for maintaining)

I was in the need for an afternoon drive in the bush. I was unsure what the road condition would be like, but it was quite ok. The CX5 handled well. As always, I went in the hard way and came out the easy way. Such awesome views. Thanyou bingley for bringing me here

03-Jan-24
Jen and I had solved the nearby puzzle and decided to head out today and grab it. This was close by so had to get this one as well. Afterwards we headed to Chiltern for lunch and a visit to the op shop. Turned out to be a lovely day out. Thanks kaspers

Find #7947

Day 5 of the Rutherglen Mega shenanigans for me and today was back to nature for some bush time in the morning. Then back into town for a couple of events, before heading out for a reccie for some river caching and back into town for the last event - dinner at the Golf Club.

Great little fund here today with Ronice88.

Thanks so much Bingley3683 for putting out and maintaining this cache. And of course for getting me out and about and enjoying this area too

NO chance of a view today...just FOG

A kid free day and sunny skies! I decided to head towards and into the Chiltern - Mt Pilot National Park where a number of caches have been waiting for just a day as today. The targets were off track mostly and much easier done without the kids. All up I tracked 7 short hikes, the longest being 2.5km. All up I covered approximately 8km for the day.

Took the easy route to GZ and a short walk brought me to an excellent view. Very nice! Glad I final got here. FP added

Thank you! Absolutely worth the search. Amazing views back to the Twin Cities.

Was not expecting that view!! Wow! Such a great location that was soo easy to access. Parked at the fire tower and made the easy stroll down the track to gz. Quick find and then plenty of pics were taken. Thanku for taking on & maintaining this cache Bingley. Really surprised, given the easy access, that it's not found more often. Great area to explore.

23-May-20
Wow what a view! Well maintained track to the tower then a short walk down. A great way to finish the day caching. Thanks for setting up this series. We will certainly be back!

What a view This cache is a quick and easy walk downhill thru a few pines from the tower at top of Mt Barambogie. Im suprised it has gone unloved for such a time. Road was dry and a beautiful drive up

Unfortunately the CO of this one (Hans Kaspers of Albury) passed away last year and I will be taking over. So I thought I'd come up and leave a trackable to encourage others to find this one - it has a wonderful view to the North over Chiltern and as far as Goombargana Hill way up in NSW. You may be able to drive to the fire tower on top of the hill if the gate is open at the bottom.

*14/10/17, 7:08 pm, Find # 7168.*

Another weekend and another road trip, this time I was headed to Wangaratta to attend the next lead up event for the Alexandra Mega.
Before the event, I decided to head to the Chiltern Mt Pilot National Park to go in search of some unloved caches.
Out of the six unloved caches found today this one was found the most recent but it was a harder walk than the last 2 that I found, go figure, anyway I made my way through the bush and over the rocks to where the GPSr said I should be but there wasn't anywhere to hide a cache so I spread out a little and it was soon located and the log signed.

**Thanks to kaspers for placing this cache.**

#4095 12:23 pm

Parked at the Bears Tk intersectional the cache page suggests and made the walk from there.
Not far from leaving the road and into the bush it appeared that the route I was taking used to be a walking track from the road to the summit at some stage in the past. Some small sections clearly look like a made track but they soon fade out only to reappear a bit further up.
Got to the clearing at Gz and admired the view for a bit before locating the container.
Surprised at how many muggle entries there are in the log, but thankfully they have placed the cache back as found.
After placing back I noticed wheel marks in the moss on the rocks and made me curious as to how a vehicle got here, so followed the track up the actual summit to find some new works going on. Looks like the just about to pour the last footing for a new tower to go up.

Great place for a cache, gave it a fave point for the location.

TNLN , TFTC , Cheers.

15-Feb-14
wow what a trek this one was, really tested the old fitness levels. But omg what a view!

15-Feb-14
We came here via bear track which was a good fun way in. After finding an appropriate place to leave the 4wd's we made the trek to the top. It had been drizzling rain all day making some parts of the trek to the top rather slippery and a lot of fun. We located the container at the top and took some time to enjoy the views which were muted by the rain.
TFTC.

Next closest cache to where I happened to be turned out to be up there at Barambogie Smile
There is a trig point up there too, so the view was probably good Razz
Except that today I new it would not be, because I couldn't see more than a couple of kilometres through the smoke haze [:o]
This cache did promise a good walk up a hill though, so off I headed.

I found the track that led up the hill and abandoned geomobile.
I enjoyed the lovely forest stroll through some great granite country.
And at the top ....
... a pristine trig point Big Grin
With some photos taken, I wandered the short distance to GZ.

Wow what a beautiful, smoky view Razz
I could just make out the range of hills on the other side of the valley Big Grin

We were in the area doing another cache this afternoon and wanted to tick this one off the list.
Great hike to the top and were rewarded with fantastic views. We added a rock to the cairn and headed back down. TFTC.

#727 found on this the 230th consecutive day of caching finding 15 for the day which ended after going to have some lunch and seeing 5 new caches had been released. of which I was able to find 4 with one a DNF.

This was number 4 of what ended up to be 15 for the day. What a lovely day for strolling in the bush as it was overcast and not to hot for doing the cache in the area I really enjoyed the trek in and the reward at the end was spectacular. This is one of those moments I really wish I had brought the camera in with me but alas I did not so just have the wonderful memory of the location.

Thanks kaspers for another of the many challenges that I added to the bag for today.

Found while out caching with my daughters (Bomb Shell and Bubble O Bill) and my 5yo twins, James and Jemma. What can i say, what a fantastic adventure. Drove as close to GZ as i could, and was left with a 400m bush bash to GZ, up hill and across granite fields and fallen trees. Oh yeah, and dodging spider webs. Doesn't get much better than this... Daughters were not impressed with the spider situation, but eventually made their way to the top with me.

Rewarded with an awesome view near GZ, well worth the hike up. I would do it again in an instant. Have favorited the cache. Cheers.

29-Aug-11
Found this cache with Blacklegend and Bubble'O.Bill

Got a bit of car sickness coming down this way, after taking an Advil (Car sickness tablet) I could take on the rest of the trip!!

The hike was fair and a bit tricky with all the rock and log in the way, had to watch our steps carefully.

TFTC kaspers Smile

Found on a day out caching with my Dad (Blacklegend) and my sister (Bomb Shell). Also my twin brother and sister James and Jemma. I really haven't done a walk like this one. There was no trail and I'm glad my Dad knew what he was doing. But it was a lot of fun, and the view from the top was fantastic. Walk back down hill was easier. TFTC. Glad we did it.

22-Aug-11
Found about 1pm and the view was spectacular. Located after a short hike with Curly the Curly-Coated Retriever after parking my 2WD at the track intersection of Px and Bear tracks. There is some semblance of a walking track from the parking spot if you look carefully. Some of the rocks on the hike are covered with wet moss and I nearly came a cropper once. TNLN and thanks for the cache kaspers.

#1598 Found on a quite day caching around the local area after doing a maintenance run on a couple of our own. We were 4WD equipped today so decided on some 4WD fun and took Bear Track - thought we may have encountered fallen trees here but it was clear to the base, there were only a few washouts along the way. Enjoyed the walk around the area to GZ & were glad of the absence of most arachnids. A terrific spot for GZ, as once found and logged we took the few steps to a great vantage point of this area. On the way back came across the trig so had to take the details to log this one also - 2 for one Big Grin. Many thanks to kaspers for bringing us to this lovely area [^]

22-Apr-11
Found our way to the track intersection without problem and started the walk up to the GZ. Disturbed a monster brown snake on the way up [:o]. Great views from the top and worth the bush walk. TFTC

17-Apr-11
Visited GZ today on a 17.5 km walk with the Border Bushwalking Club. From GZ we took the track to Mt Barambogie Road and noticed at least two large fallen trees across the track, but we also did notice fresh vehicle track around those fallen trees. So congrats to Kiara001 for finding a way around these obstacles!

16-Apr-11
well I can finally cross this one off my list and I didnt even get bogged on the way this time Smile . Was a good drive in with no fallen trees on the road and track was pretty good all the way to the top of the hill and only 125 mtrs to GZ. Nice short walk down to GZ and what a view, MAGIC landscape views of Chiltern and Barny. SL TNTN TFTC

Wow! Great spot! Got there just before dusk with Bettyboo - rain coming up and had to battle through hundreds of spiderwebs. Left some stuff and took a medal to pass on. Thanks kaspers!

Late in the day so a bit of a rush to reach the hiding spot before dark. Impressive views after fighting our way through the ever-present spider webs. Took medal, left a floral smilie and duck. TFTC

Find # 1856 @ 18:10
I approached this from PX Road and parked where the gps indicated 386 metres which seemed to be the closest I could get to gz. I ambled off and battled my way through countless spider webs and alternated the route for the easiest ascent. It wasn't long before I reached the top to be pleasantly surprised by the view. I noted there had been a rather large fire made in a natural rock hollow so obviously someone else decided to stay for some time and partake in the views as well. I am glad there was a pencil in the hide as I had forgotten to bring a pen on this occasion. TNLNSL Thanks kaspers, a great cache!

Well todays MTB challange was park the car at Chiltern, jump on the MTB with fellow cacher dvandamme and head to the Barambogie cache. A great ride out with some head wind, a short scramble up the side over the rocks and there with fantastic views was the Kasper cache. Signed the log and drained the water, srambled back down the hill to the bikes and then a very fast ride to the old Chiltern Cemetry for the next Gz. Thanks Kaspers for showing me the area

Got the alert for this one what seemed to be just after we had got to sleep after a big arvo/evening cache trip with DJ Rascal. So, we headed out to this one today as we had another mission in the area, we wanted to log one on the 10/10/10, so swung past this whilst we were here.

Drove on the Mt.Barambogie track and was able to follow the 4WD track to the TRIG that is up there & within 120metres to the cache. So a short walk to GZ & GeoKid came up with the hide.
What amazing views they are from up here! Mrs H was in the area earlier in the week & mentioned it would be a good area for a hide - but didnt have the 4wd to go exploring! Big Grin

Well done to Lostmonster & Co on an early sunday morning FTF.

So happy that two cachers discovered this cache within 24 hours of placement. Also happy that both enjoyed the view from this site.
I discovered this spot on a bush-walk two years ago. Not even the merest foot-track goes to this site, so to me it was the ideal spot for a cache so I can share this lookout!.
However it hardly seems fair that two cachers walk 120m or 300m to find a cache that took me 10km of walking to place!!!! Wink Just as well I enjoy bush-walking, Maybe it also is proof, that you see more when you're walking!!!

Well, we had to join in making up the numbers for the 10/10/10 - so chose the nearest cache to home as we had a big day out yesterday. New cache came up less than 40kms from home, so grabbed our caching friends Markndee(spending the weekend from Ballarat) and said we have to go do this one today. Off we set and found the cache at 5.30pm. Met purpledreamer coming back from the cache - having parked beside her vehicle at suggested ref. point. We did the drunken bee dance to the cache and found the view that was worth the climb. Marvelled at the chocolate lilies and the spider orchids and pink finger orchids we found along the way. Left: gecko Took: praying mantis. TFTC kaspers. We love this area and all the caches hidden here have had us exploring all different parts of the Chiltern/Mt Pilot National Park. Took a few trackables with us to pay a visit.

Wow! The view from this spot is absoultly spectacular and I will be returning!!!
Arrived with Lonewolf98 and his mate who both piked out at about 150 meters up must admit couldnt help giggle to myself when when Lonewolf98 's mate asked, " What exactly are we doing?" Then fell to the floor with," Are you serious" when I told him we had what we had walked times two to go! I think it was at that stage I went on.
Loved the bush walk Loved the view!

Whooo, FTF.
We got the alert this one at 2am, thought about heading out then, not a real good idea with a 500metre walk into GZ.
We jumped up out of bed at 6am,and headed west, managed to find a spot 300metres from GZ, Parked the GeoCar and walked it in to find a top spot with top views, had a quick look see and found the hidy spot pretty soon, opened the cache to find a" White Blank Page" FTF!!!
Many thanks to Kaspers for bring us to a part of the Chiltern/Mount Pilot we have never seen before, very nice area with FAB Views.
