Due to some unsavory types of people in this area time for a new one instead in a little more public location.
Ooops -been away for a few weeks and forgotten about this one will attend to it in the next few weeks
Ah this explains why I had no luck finding this cache today - a disabled cache! I was trying to clear some of my older caches that I had tried before and hadn't found. I had tried this one last year with Irontoad and was in the area so decided to clear the caches without checking on their status.
I will keep a watch on this one so I will know when it is updated. Thanks 80degrees.

I was driving past and couldn't resist stopping for a quick look. Interesting place. I saw a rabbit on the way in, a fox on the way out and was propositioned by a guy at gz. I got out of there pretty quickly. I haven't decided whether I'll come back for another look or not.
Unfortunately this area of the park is too isolated and as a result becoming unsafe. Need time to rethink this one - perhaps a little move.

Find # 1489
Today was the day to go and visit the 80degrees household to collect the prize I had won at The 3rd Leap event followed by finding some caches in the general area. So after a chat for an hour or so it was time to go cache hunting.
It was now time for a visit to a new park for me. This cache was once again a classic hide. I quite nice walk in the grasslands, I completed the loop.
Thanks to 80degrees for the hide.

After completing some other GC's by 80degrees, GeoBel and myself tackled this little doosie again. Success followed no more than one minute of arrival at GZ. TFTC.
This was my second attempt at tis though the first doesn't really count as I only had a quick look in very fading light. Came back today in the mid afternoon so had plenty of time now! It certainly was busy around the park today with heaps of people enjoying Australia Day bbqs and parties. Nobody in the redgum reserve so after the short pleasant walk to GZ started searching in earnest. After two laps, lots of pokong and prodding there was nothing to be found. Time to PAF so called the CO who was able to give accurate direction - to an empty hole! Ok Jim says, I'll be there in 6 minutes as he handed the phone to the convalscing Allison. As we were talking I found the cache lying on the ground at my feet! Jim arrived shortly after and found a new home for the cache a few cm away from is original. Thanks heaps to 80degrees for bringing me here, a piece of tranquility in a very popular park, and for the assistance.
First I had trouble getting into this compound. started off in the wrong direction and had just about decided that they didn't want us into this fenced-off section of the park. but eventually found a way in. some great old red gums.
So far today one DNF and one easy find. But 1 out of 3 ain't too good:
Didn't find this one though I did a fairly close search of the area my gizmo pointed me to. Guess it's time to call it a day!

Lots of potential hiding places but surprisingly soon had the cache in hand. Thanks for bringing us to this area. It is great to see the revegetation taking place.
I paid my dues in time searching on more than one occasion before finding this one. It is in good condition. Very well placed 80degrees.
It took a painstaking search but after a minute or three I spotted the cache container and made my log. Although the host was damp it was no trouble to get the cache. TFTC
This was the first of the 3 of 80degrees hides I walked to in this area on what ended up being a half marathon walk this afternoon. Heaps of flying insects at GZ. This was actually the quickest of your hides for me today. The clear description meant it almost certainly had to be in the type of location it was hidden in and the side you chose was also as expected. Decent fingernails meant no extraction tool was required. Thanks for the clever hide 80degrees.
yeh. just as i thought. AAAAHHHH.
it was a lovely stroll to G.Z.
my son loved playing around the area. while i searched and searched.
no luck. [:x]

Smart hide! Smallest cache we've found so far and was found shortly after finding the largest - 'Bucket List'
Still no joy. Even with the owners help!
I don't think I will ever find it without someone showing it to me.
I don't think I will ever find it without someone showing it to me.
I dd think that after finding the Bundoora Canoe Tree cache that I might be up to anything today - alas no. The mosquitoes didn't help the search at all, but after a while I figured out that today was not the day. I looked in all the places that such a container requiring a retrieval tool might be....at least I thought I did. Maybe a torch would hep me? Got me stumped.
Had to do a web search on the phone to clarify the measurement in the hint which helped narrow the search area a bit. Bev finally spotted the hiding place first. T4TC

Found at 12:15PM on the 13th of October by Bev and Greg (gahpee) and Ray and Maya (Nomads). Good hide. The cache log was slightly damp. Cunning hide. TFTC. The Nomads
This was great! TFTC quite the challenge!

We dropped MMelb off at a party at NRGForce (Laser tag) in Thomastown and now had 3 hours to cache to our hearts content lol. We came to this park because a) it was close and b) we were aiming for the Bundoora Canoe Tree later on.
This one luckily ended up being an easy find as GMelb happened to look in the right area pretty quickly.

A challenging little cache, which i gave up on and then returned to- for a more determined night time search.
#209 for us, found today at around 12:00
Although I work very close to this cache, I haven't had the chance to grab it, but today was the day ! Having to come up to Melbourne so juc_jr #2 could take part in the State finals for the Tournament of Minds, juc_jr#1 and I were left at a loose end for most of the morning. After showing her my work, a wander around campus and having a cuppa at the Agora, it was finally my chance to go grab a couple of quick caches.
The park was chockers on this sunny Sunday, with various parties going on and folks enjoying this excellent park and I though muggles might be a big problem here today.
After parking nearby, it soon became apparent that it wasn't going to be the case. I did have some mozzies for company as I hunted high and low for close to 20 minutes, before having that "ah-ha" moment as I spotted something not quite 100%. Thankfully I had my caching bag with Bushfire's recommended toolkit and the retrieval was easy. I am very familiar with this type of container ! Log signed and cache replaced as found.
Thanks for the cache 80degrees !

Looked for a while but had a hard time. Found the location where cache is located. I need a hint as to where to look.
Spent nearly 1 hour to look for this cache. but failed. I think the difficulty stars in the log description correctly reflect the difficulty in finding it. I'll be back... quite an interesting place though....
Second time looking for this one, was almost ready to give up when we found it. TFTC.
Today was a massive day of caching. I woke knowing all I had to do was make my way to the airport and catch a plane to Adelaide for a conference. Along the way I was going to grab a few caches... In the end I think it ended up being 36 or 37. There were a number of tricky hides and a number of easier ones also. It always amazes me how much time must be spent in construction and placement of caches all over the place. Unfortunately this generic log doesn't do them justice but I have to use my iPhone to log them. Thank you for the cache. A.
I'd tried this in the dark some time ago and could not find, but today in the light I found it. Very tricky!

This is a great hide. I won't spoil it for others other than saying I spent more than a few seconds to find this one.
Thanks 80degrees.

Boy!! talk about hard to find, Josh spotted this one while I was on hands and knees searching nearby.
This was the third cache of 15 finds for the day, while out caching with Crazy! Nat Girl. A nice walk with plenty of birds about, this was a sneaky hide that we got real lucky on. My thanks to 80degrees for the cache.
On my third visit I finally struck gold here. So well hidden, and I can see why I struggled in the wet the last two times I tried for it. Many thanks to 80degrees for the hide and the hint. Cheers!
Searched that log over and over and almost gave up, but luckily husband caught a glimpse. Very cleverly hidden!!
Were short on time and long on luck with this tricky little number. I had just run through here about an hour earlier! TFTC
As promised, I returned, but another 20 minutes of searching, and I still don't have that smiley. I think I may need a hint here?
Found @ 1230. Great area. Found host OK then the real search began. Found after about 10 minutes. Clever container and first time I have seen one of these used. Log is damp. This gets a favourite from me. SL TFTC

Wasn't a very easy find. Personally I would have hidden a regular here, but that was just me. It was a good hide though. Thanks
We initially gave up on this one & went to find Coopers Back Fence after 20mins of finding nothing. The cache was in hand after less than 5 mins when we came back & I am certain we looked right at it but kept moving on before. TFTC!
Good to see an flourishing revegetation project in Melbourne. Missed it on the first look but found it while making a second pass in the company of very friendly insects.... Thanks.
Spent about 30 minutes looking expecting their to be a micro somewhere in the log. No find and reckon I covered every bit that fingers can get too. Reading about needing an implement to remove it now that I have got back to read some further info, it may have been in too deep but did try shining a torch in to some crevices and nothing was seen.
After 15 minutes of searching in the rain today, I abandoned the hunt. I'll be back!
This sure took some looking - I finally found it on about the 3rd or 4th pass with the aid of a mini lcd flashlight. Very simple, very effective hide and a great area.
Thanks for the challenge, 80degrees.

Found at 22:40 with geojane and geopet. Even with the hint this was hard tftc
2nd crack at this one with The Empire making the find on the way to the Event tftc 80degrees
Found with lochb today. We spent a bit of time searching the obvious, than the not so obvious, then gave it away. We then had the good fortune to meet up with some other caches very soon after who gave us a good hint.
Returning we teamed up with Swaggies, and with three of us at it he soon made the find. Very devious 80Degrees.

Found by Mary & David at 1540. This cache has a touch of evil about it. Did a circuit of GZ without success. Found the hint stick and did another circuit. Still nothing. Finally found the container on the fourth pass in a less-obvious place we'd previously overlooked. Our thanks yet again to 80degrees.
On the way to the Easter event, we dropped off to do the 3 caches in this park by our hosts We had the good fortune to meet lochb and alansee at this car park as well. Seeing as we were in such experienced company, we felt sure we would get this difficult cache, which we did. I can see I am going to have to get a lot sneakier with my cache hides after this weekend. Thanks 80 degrees for the cache.
Indeed a sneaky hide! Alansee and I had given up, but equipped with a hint we tried again, Mr Swaggies in tow, and the cache was found. How did we miss it the first time? TFTC

Second crack at this one and it was all mine! We didn't have a pen so I actually ripped an M into the bottom of the log. I took and photo on my iPhone and showed Jim while he was cooking the BBQ at the event. He was satisfied that we had found his cache and it was all OK to log. Thanks for the sneaky, sneaky cache 80degrees.

This time here it took me about 20 seconds to find it (at 11:25am). Last time I was here for over 30 minutes without spotting it! A very sneaky little hide.

Went by today after our monthly visit to the Farmer's Market and changed the log sheet.
found today and logged in the last spot on the log i was approaching this cache when a muggle appeared so i went and sat on a nearby seat untill he came over and sat right beside me, ok i thought, then he started up a conversation which was fine until he got a bit closer and put his hand on my knee i moved along very quickly after that returning a little while later to make the find i was going to come back and add another log but decided not to after the mornings events tftc
This was our second attempt. We found it together with snikcid4. Our nephew had it in hand in a matter of minutes. A great hide! TFTC
27/03/2011 17:04 Found: #347 As I was searching GZ for this sneaky micro I met the 'YankeeRoos' showing their family what caching is all about. At first they hung back somewhat so as no to seem like they were stalkers but they eventually came up and introduced themselves.
This hide turned out to be another typically evil cache that I am rather embarrassed to admit had me stumped (no pun). I begged help from the new acquaintance and they obliged. Moments later it was in hand. A VERY accurate GPS is required here! Also it IS a micro so the obvious locations are really more of a distraction. Thank you 80 degrees for this migraine-inducing challenge ! TFTC TNLN SL

A nice stroll thru the trees to a quick find.
Thanks, Robmc.

We managed to find this one quite easily though I am not surprised to see
it could be a struggle. No time for the mozzies to find us either as we had more caches to do today.
Found a better path to exit on
Thanks 80degrees.

Victory is mine!!! Second attempt. But Managed to get it this time. The log was a tiny bit damp but nothing to worry about. Mozzies were a killer out here!!! Managed to leave a mini dice in cache. Yes, it is very mini to fit in there! TFTC
Found this one while solo killing time before flying home. Scared by the rabbits on the way in and walked through a few cob webs but managed to find it. Interesting to see a micro in an area like this. Was expecting a big one!
Found this one armed with vague sense of location and the clue. A likely spot led us to the cache. Hopefully the GPS starts working soon!
We found this cache today at 5:50pm as the 23rd of 30 on our North by Northwest Tour. We were heading to the other cache here when we realised that we were passing this one so we stopped. After the usual spots did not reveal a cache, we adopted a methodical approach which eventually turned up the find. Our 4th cache find in this park. Thanks from D & HA B-A.
LouiseAnn had noticed this park contained 3 caches in close proximity a few days ago and decided it would be a good after work / before dinner evening caching adventure. So tonight we headed out to this park for an after work / before dinner evening caching adventure! Upon arriving at the park we noticed a rather ominous sign saying gates locked at sunset... lucky we had two GPS that tell us exactly what time sunset was. I checked the GPS. Eeeep, we have 59 mins! Hopefully the park ranger has not got a GPS! We hurried in and parked nearby, continuing in to the GZ on foot. As per usual we disagreed on the best way through to the GZ, and so took different routes LouiseAnn going through the scrub, I followed the path around. We arrived at the GZ at the same time, but my way still better. After a quick search of the obvious spots and no luck, LouiseAnn suggested we check what size the cache was... Eppp (#2) a micro! Could be anywhere! Seems it is time for a proper look. After a few minutes of closer inspection, and one muggle wondering past, LouiseAnne spotted the little guy. Cache is in good order. Thanks for the cache 80degrees.
Pathfinder24 and I decided to head out before dinner and pick up a few caches. On arrival that the Bundoora Park, we were worried to see it's gates get locked at sunset. Would we be able to do all three caches in the park and not get locked in? On arrival in the cache area we thought we'd have the cache in the bag in seconds. "What size did you say the cache is?" I asked Pathfinder24. "Micro? Oh dear, this might take longer than we thought." We found it after doing a more systematic search. The cache and container were in perfect condition. I do have to fonder what the muggle who wandered past us mid search thought we were doing, but he didn't stop to ask! Thanks for the cache 80degrees
After the DNF went to check - found the difficulty has been increased by the adding of more camo - have adjusted the camo accordingly but as most seem to need an extra hint to help find it have increased the difficulty rating to a 3.5
I knew that this was gonna be another needle in the haystack but after a fair search and contributing a feed to the mozzies I left with my tail between my legs - tftc 80degrees
There is only the team of two of us enjoying an afternoon out after doing the house hold chores. We took the opportunity to check out a couple of 80degrees plants seeing they are not with us today. Heard some hard luck stories about this one so we thought we would tackle it first.
Loved the information on our wonderful Red Gum and glad to hear somewhere they are looking after it. We came to GZ and saw the usual object of concealment. After prodding and probing in every possible crevis Mr xambo relented and rang a friend. Under clear instruction that presky little blighter was in our hand. It was that funny little fungi growing on top of it that added to its concealment
Excellent hide and I got to use my tool
Thanks for the cache.

A not so quick find at this location as the cache was well inside the hole and covered in mud so it took a small stick to ease it out.
Took nothing, left nothing.
