With Gap (of Fap and Gap)… We’re on a big Easter weekend excursion visiting Vikings and anything else in between.
Easter Friday: It was a veritable expressway through these backroads this afternoon. Commuters must be trying to avoid the stop-start road maintenance out on Highway 2… We were sufficiently hidden from passing motorists, so we were able to get down low enough to examine the hall’s underbelly. It took ages to spot the cache - we must be getting tired! Thanks Skindo. TFTC.

31 December 2022 17:19 TFTC Skindo for placing this cache, number 12163 for me.
Day 3 of the holiday trip. Boys are cycling between Pahiatua and Waipukerau today, while I act as support crew and cache where I can.
This one took me longer to spot than it should have. I must be getting tired, and still have a long way to drive!

Stopped here on my way back to Wellington from Napier today for a quick find this time (last time I called by here it was dark, that's my excuse). Cache was safe and dry, TFTC.
Found while on a trip North with Flowerydaze, lovely day for winter. Nearly gave up on this one until flowerydaze laid a finger on it nice hide.
Talla64 was just about to give this one up when I suddenly got my fingers on it. I was glad I had my gardening gloves on - not keen on poking about in dark places! Talla64 and I are spending a few days in Hawkes Bay mainly focussing on the PWGT2 caches, but also picking up a few others which happen to be on our route. This was one of them. A nice quick find here with no muggles around. TFTC Skindo.
B went one way and I went the other, looking at hint objects, and we turned up the cache very quickly. TFTC Skindo!
Been in Masterton for a week of work and now heading home using some of the back roads. Cleaning up a few missed caches. Quick park and grab. Cache all fine. Thanks Skindo for the smiley.
Quick find and Tui managed well with His anything but small hand! One or two bovine muggles kept an eye on us while the rest just went on munching. All good here TFTC
One certainly needs small hands to retrieve this cache. I only just managed to with a few scrapes on the arm.
Cheers for the cache.
Cheers for the cache.
Having a small hand was a definate plus for this cache! Got this one on the way home from a tramp in the hills. Beautiful day. TFTC
Tight squeeze. It was in the second spot we checked that matched the hint. All good here. ThanksFTC
Easy find on a beautiful day, so cache is definitely still there. You just have to dare stick your hand in a dark place:)
#11,331. Park and grab on Laws Road in Dannevirke. Fortunately, GZ was all quiet at the time of our visit. Relatively quick find with the aid of the additional hints. The cache was in good condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.

No luck for us either. Looks like the base boards may have been replaced since the last find so maybe the cache has been a casualty.... or maybe we just didnt look hard enough.
A quick find here,cache in good condition.Wrote the log and re-concealed carefully.TFTC!
I achieved my tasks for the day by midday so decided to reward myself with some caches over behind dannevirke and Woodville. As I approached the hall I could see some cars parked outside but as I had come all this way I was not going to let this deter me. There was no one in sight but I could clearly hear people inside the hall. Quick find and hurriedly signed the log and returned just in case anyone appeared. Nobody did. TFTC
Leaving late today which normally isn't a very good idea when trying to cover the wairapa it was a 10am start with a 6.30pm finish, big thank you skindo I have covered most roads in the wairapa thanka to your caches today I was flying solo and had hope to get about 30, thanks to the weather that didn't pan out later in the afternoon so had to come back through weber which is quite a long drive even when your not stopping for caches. - another quick find
#2306. I was heading north today on a trip to Napier and had a list of target caches to find. Had two work colleagues with me who had not been caching before so were keen to see what the game was all about. Pulled up by the hall and read the hint. Sent in my team of helpers and they quickly located the cache after a short search. Signed the log and returned the cache as found. Certainly a lot of country halls east of the divide. Thanks for hiding the cache here.
We pull up at this one just as two other cars pull up. It's the bus stop for the local school kids and a whole bunch of kids piled out of the two cars. Had to wait for them to leave before we could search lucky the bus came after a couple of mins. Difficult cache to get out if its hidey hole. Tftc
A few places to hunt. Finally we found but needed to squeeze and twist our arm to retrieve. TFTC
Another pleasant find while enjoying a slight diversion from the main road, TFTC skindo, #8009
The second cache for today while visiting local school. Once there was a school here also....... thank you for this cache and another smiley face.
After an early start at the C O's 15 minutes of fame event at Woodville it was down the road to find a few more unfound caches and boost those saggy August cache numbers, last years 31 days of August left me with not enough local caches to find and no road trips planned. This year has been more of moderation, planning and waiting.
No problem with the find here, went along the side then back to the front again, there it is!

Planned a huge day caching. Left at around 6.30 and started heading to pongaroa to the event. 40 caches on the way there then realized we couldnt do the rest we planned or we would be late. So headed a different way. After the Lunch we had another huge list of caches to get but got to pongaroa and petrol station wasnt open, 1 1/2 hours to masterton or 45 mins to pahiatua or dannivirke....hmmm that stuffs that plan up, should have thought about that earlier opps. So headed straight back to dannivirke and missed out a huge chunk of our planned trip. Thanks for a cache owners of all the ones we found along our trip.

Our last cache of the area today, as the predicted 110kph winds, jet black clouds were reminding us that it was not safe to continue.
We required small hands to retrieve this one.....

Quick find, on an early morning raid on caches around Dannevirke. Thanks for the cache.
[green] Raining all day today, and I am busy tomorrow (sunday)so decided to do this as another midnight run. Borowed a car from some friends of mine and here I am. I am starting to not like Maori place names. They always leave me hanging. Like this one: The long two... what? The cache was an easy find without the hint. (I haven't even checked - to see if there even is a hint)
Our 22nd of the day. A new record for finds in a day for us. It helped having a local who knew where to drive in the area. An easy find for the geoson. TFTC.
Had plenty of time left in the day so decide to do a short diversion to pick up a few more caches.
Hubby tried area but decided he couldn't fit his hand in there so discounted it. Wife's skinnier hands fitted fine & came up with the goods.
Left a pet rock - a giraffe. TFTC

Took us a while totally looking in the wrong area of the hall. Went back and read the hint. Found it! Found with friends TFTC
After finding GC2TTYD - Te Whare Haapori i Te Rehunga (Hawkes Bay), this was the next cache that was on my list that I was going to do today, after reading the cache page I soon realised that this was another one of many Skindo hall caches and that with a hint like this it should not be too hard to find.
After a short drive along a few more country roads, I was really enjoying this drive as I made my way around the Southern Hawkes Bay, the drive to GZ was a lot quicker than I first thought that it was going to take me and as I was nearing GZ I soon spotted the hall in the distance and as I got closer I managed to see a good parking spot out the front of the hall.
Making my way around the hall the GPS was bouncing around a bit but it soon settled on a spot that I was happy with and then I went over to check and I soon managed to find the cache in its nice hiding spot. Thanks for placing this cache here and for bringing me to another nice hall that was definitely worth a visit, TFTC TNLNSL(4883)

A quick find on a day's expedition with Yeetrees to clean up some unfound caches in the region. Signed log, TFTC.
Quite a busy neighbourhood today. Thank you skindo, for the replacement and relocation, nice find and we get to be first on the new list

Looks like this cache has gone missing. The grass around the hint object is almost non-existent so would have been able to see the cache from a distance. Had a good check anyway, but nothing there.
After a long look, my two pre schoolers and I found this, had fun with the ball and filled in the book.
Easy find as was just lying in the paddock. Tried this cache 2 days earlier but lots of cars were waiting ready to collect their kids from the school bus. Signed log and replaced where it should be. TFTC

A great example of one of the halls built after the WW1 and in great condition.Thanks.
3313 A nice quick find at another community hall, Miss Geckoh had it in hand before we had fully left the vehicle. Skindo #178 for us. TFTC
Found with geodatum. The cache was lying intact in the paddock nearby - we suspect it had been blown there in yesterday's storm. We did our best to hide it more securely. TFTC.
Joint find with edvern. Lucky we came along at this time and could retrieve the cache, no harm done. It's location doesn't seem particularly secure, however. Could do with an owner check sometime. TFTC
I arrived at the hall at about 9pm and oh no all the lights were on and there were about 8 cars parked outside.
I quietly parked the car and tiptoed over to the cache. Luckily the windows on the cache side of the hall are quite high, so the people inside couldn't see me.
Didn't need a torch because of the hall lights, so I quickly found the cache, hid behind the power box to sign it and then quietly departed.
Thanks.
