Stopped here for lunch in a spot where we could view the little stream and bridge. Then turned on the gps to find there is a cache here. Nice quick find - thanks for placing
4-week family trip through NZ - Find #154!Nice spot for a break in the drive, and a quick cache find .TFTC!
Trouve ! / Found it ! Stop lunch and GC 4745me cache trouve.Merci drawp pour la cache 4745th cache found.Thank you drawp for the cache
Roadtripping in NZ from Finland. On our way from Mt. Cook to Wanaka grabbed this one. It was a quick one! TFTC!
A nice quick find, although there was a lack of lupins in the spot there had been plenty along the roadside. TFTC.
Day 9: Across the Lindis PassThe route for today brought us back to close the big loop of our Southern journey by passing through Omarama and the Lindis Pass and back into Cromwell where we stayed the night. This would be my first trip across the Pass and we found many caches along the way, including the highlight of the day at the Bendigo Historic Reserve. Thanks for all of the caches along the route!(End of the cut and paste bit)Heres the specific log for the cache:We turned off a little too early here and I ended up on the wrong side of the stream so I had to get back into the car and make my way around. Ah another instance of stupidity here, but once at GZ, the cache was really easily found. My mum loves the lupins so this was a fun stop for her too. TFTC!
23/9/2023 Find #6596Day 15 of the Fangsoki/1MinnieMoo New Zealand South Island adventure. We were supposed to head from Queenstown to Haast and Franz Josef today however the pass was closed, so we headed up to Wanaka and then across to Christchurch for the night. To break up the drive a little, we stopped at just a couple of caches on the way. We pulled into this little rest stop and saw someone had put a snow head on top of the bin. There was snow all over the tables. Over to the cache and a quick find was had before Fangsoki tries to throw a snowball at me to get back at me for my earlier shot. And missed. Then while he headed back to the van to make a phone call to adjust our nights accommodation, I made my very first ever snowman. And for that it gets a favourite point from me. Thanks for the cache drawp.
A dnf avenged. The place looks a lot tidier than last time we were here. Unfortunately, it's still used as a toilet. Thanks for the placement drawp
Day 3 on our holiday in New Zealand. On the way from Twizel to Te Anau, we also visited this traditional cache, searched the box, found it, and signed the logbook

Today I drove from Wanaka to Aoraki. To make the drive a bit more exciting I stopped here and was able to log the cache. Thank you.
Stopped here with spoonz2 to get my blue face to a smiley face after it was missing some time ago. Both times toilet paper was around the area. It would be rather nice if the users cleaned up after themselves as its a great picnic spot with a lovely stream running thru it. Nice and cool on our feet too! TF replacing this cache drawp
Nice to have somewhere to get away from the traffic while hunting. Beautiful spot, too. After the caching business was done, Eve07 and I stood in the stream for a while and cooled off. Thanks drawp!
Hi there drawp - Last days for this trip - and we had to travel to Christchurch from Wanaka.. We found this cache at 1117am after a short search - and the container and log were both in good condition unless noted in the Fieldnotes below. TN, LN, SL. Thanks to drawp for this cache - the 5th of 7 finds for the day.
FieldNotes: The cache and log were both found in good condition.

Luckily it’s high and dry , a nice little stop when driving through the Lindis thanks for the cache.
Looked like the area had been recently flooded so was worried that cache may have been washed away, lucky for everyone it's still there and sitting pretty. Tftc!
One of 14 caches located today whilst travelling from Lake Ruataniwha (near Twizel) to Cromwell. Stopped at this spot for lunch and to pick up the cache. It was a quick find. Sadly no lupins at this time of the year! #4824. TFTC.
More a did not look as it appears a hint item has been cutdown and given the previous logs.
No lupins no cache no luck ..add me to the long list searched high in both end trees
Not finding it here today after searching but way too much toilet paper at GZ which made it more complicated and disgusting. Found plenty of possible hides but nothing there.
#20555. It certainly is lupin time of year at the moment. Quick find on our second visit. TFTC.
Today, StreetWalkerNZ and I are returning to Christchurch after a week hanging around lakes in Central Otago.
We had looked for this cache last year but it appears it was MIA at the time. Good to stop by today and avenge the blue face with a quick find. Certainly this time of year is peak lupin flowering time, and they do look lovely despite being a weed. Thanks for replacing and TFTC.

Lovely luppins. I found this cache during a Mum Taxi service. Two of my children are walking the Routburne. So I offered my services for drop off at the Glenorchy end and am picking them up at the TeAnau end. I invited Jude_E along for company, so we'll be taking a few detours along the way.
Thanks for hiding this cache drawp I appreciate it.

When I noticed this had been replaced since my last attempt I had to stop and get rid of the blue frown on the map. Nanzie found it quickly. Thanks for replacing it drawp

Dnf with judithrichards this has been the case for previous Geocache hunters.
It simple is not on site and needs attention by the CO or removed.
Stopping and parking only to find it doesn't exist spoils ones Geocaching day.

After spending a couple of days around Cromwell we are now on our way north to Omarama or perhaps further. Mr S made the find while taking a break from the endless traffic. We travelled around the South Island in November in 2009 and the lupins were in full glorious flower. Not today though. Just rain.
Thanks for another smilie drawp.

On approaching GZ there looked like a lot of tree lopping had taken place, also there was a workers station looked like a bit maintenance around the bridge. Discovered the tree lopping had not interfered with the cache hidey hole, 2 logbooks/ one soggy and unsignable/ but another in a separate bag all good. Minus TB/ plus TB don't forget to add to list lol
I'm catching up on my logging which seemed to have stalled even though we have been in lockdown, my excuse is that I have been working throughout.
Found on our southward leg - day 2. Watch out for the human deposits among the trees [:(!]
This started out as a Geocaching road trip to Invercargill to drop off some stuff for the niece and collect some other stuff for Mrs banian. It turned into a bit of a race back to Wellington to beat the Covid-19 lockdown.
We were able to rebook our Ashburton accommodation and ferry ticket to earlier in the week. When we arrived in Picton the vehicle queue was almost a kilometre long, and got longer behind us. Fortunately, as we had tickets we were still able to get on our sailing.

During our roadtrip through New Zealand I found this cache "Lupin Valley Stop (North Otago)" from drawp on 22 februari 2020 13:20.
Nothing is as rewarding to find a cache without the knowledge of its existence (because you have no reception or downloaded cache data upfront). But you can 'smell' there is one in the neighbourhood so you look for the obvious places, look a bit more and bingo you found the cache!
Due to the car stop style of the cache it was a good place to hide TB paddock Banger.
Groetjes/Greetings and TFTC from a Dutchman (a long way from home, but home is here the heart is, on the bus).

Looks like the trees have been severely trimmed recently and I was hoping the workers hadn’t removed the cache. Found it after a short search but the logbook was out of its bag and was soaked - unable to sign without ripping the pages. I dried out the container and bag but didn’t have time to try to dry out the logbook.
I’ve added a temporary logbook until someone will have time to stop and dry out the original.

Together with TEMBO! I had a really interesting geocaching-trip today. We could find some geocaches, met some locals and had a great talk to them.
Concerning this geocache I want to say thanks because we had much fun in searching and finding this geocache! The cache made our trip even more interesting!

No lupins but lots of catkins. Lying on the ground like swarms of hairy caterpillars.
Great place for a cache. It was deserted today when I arrived and it was nice to hear the nearby water as I searched. I was actually about to give up and was walking back when I saw a place and said, well that is where I would have put it. So, I wandered over and sure enough that is where it was. Cheers drawp for the cache!

For my personal challenge of working towards getting my calendar on GC.COM to be at least the same shade of green or darker I need to sign off at least 12 caches today. I won't grumble if I find one or two more. Today I decided to go for a drive through the Lindis Pass to locate and sign off the required caches.
I read a previous log which states that you don't have to be near the toilet paper. Very helpful.
Cheers for the cache.

Trip towards Mount Cook area today grabbing a few caches on the way.
Found after a bit of a search. Not easy when the area had several people having picnics etc.
