Finding the Love1.5/1.5 Micro Traditional Cache There was no love for us from the caretaker/management today. We were 4m parked from the cache, she was not going to let us disturb her Australia Day celebrations and showed us the gate. LolThank you for the cache Liz and Bruce. Feel free to delete the log. We were told Ross River Resort always close on Summer months - not many tourists/visitors around that time. Too hot!
A day trip from the Alice to see the East Macs.......terrific! Thanks to the management for allowing us to enter. Log could do with replacement as it is quite brittle. Cheers everyone and tftc
Stopped here on our way out to Ruby Gap, trying to take a back road (but found out it's permanently closed ).Quickly found . TNLNSL.We suppose this is what resorts looked like before they became popular [:o)] - this one being a real time capsule .Thanks Liz and Bruce (and redcenterdazza).
Found on an overnight visit to the Ross River Homestead, beautiful location to camp. Great dinner in the homestead.
I lovely easy find in a very special location. Thanks for putting this one out here and giving us an additional focus to the trip. TFTC
Yay! Another Liz and Bruce cache! We have found your hides all over Australia. TFTC
Found this with Paul2811 and the manager of Ross River watching on heckling from the sidelines to the longer it took us to find it! TFTC
We are spending the weekend at Ross River Homestead while exploring the surrounding area. Definitely felt the love here. Signed log CT. TFTC!
I came out this way for a work trip to check out the possibility of using the camp ground for a work camp (not that I was involved in the planning of the trip, this was a chance to see a bit more of the country). (As it turns out I am in a new role this year (2022) and will be getting to see a lot more of the Territory.)
We were warmly greeted at the homestead, given a guided tour through the building and a lot of history was related to us. My fellow travelers hadn't seen a cache previously and were curious about the process.
Thanks for the cache Liz and Bruce.
(Note date of this log may not match the date in the log book. For some reason I missed logging the find shortly after the visit with the omission being found 3/4/22.)

This country is amazing, every corner you turn, every river you cross, every mountain you climb shows us a stunning part of this awesome Country.
Thanks for sharing this with truely amazing country

Ross River is a beautiful homestead. We had a lovely lunch at the cafe/restaurant before heading to Arltunga. This place has a great vibe and I hope to return and stay here some day. The cache was found by muggle husband after a bit of a search and feel.
The cache was found in the last place we felt, which as usual was not the first place we felt. Time for an ice cream and a brain freeze. Thanks for placing a fun cache guys. We do love your work. We signed the logbook. Of course we did that is way we play this game. Cache in pretty good condition for the cache age.

On our second day in Alice and we took a drive to Ross River Homestead. and foound this cache after a search and also being asured by the Manager it was there. Found with Jack Jam. Wethen had lunch before rthe return trip to camp.. TFTC.
Found after a quick search, was thinking of a different cache.
The hosts are such lovely people, really enjoyed our meal, drinks and a few games of pool. The accommodation was rustic, but very comfortable.
Hurley (pooch) loves to play ball, and is also interested in caching

No luck, seached some time but didn't find it. We didn't have internet and offline data, so only coordinates and size
A quick trip to the centre over the ten day easter break. Picked up a few caches i hadn't done and saw some spectacular scenery. TFTC TNLN
The unloved machinery caches. 8 eyes see more, so finally we found the cache. Tftc
Like others I shudder when I discover these types of caches but I was glad I persevered. Staying here for couple of days and really enjoying it. TFTC
Staying out at Ross River in the East MacDonnell Ranges on this part of my great trip up the middle with a couple of muggle friends.
Just picking up random caches while I can without upsetting them to much.
Left my muggle mate in the bar and came out to find this one.
At least this one was a lot smaller to search then others one I have done.
Still not sure what it is though.
Meet my mate again and he was talking to the lady behind the bar about what I was doing.
She was suprised that I found it as a couple of people before me hadn’t.
I described what the container was and she was happy that it was still there.
Thanks Liz and Bruce TFTC.

Ahh, I dislike these machinery hides - so many options. In this case persistence paid off and the cache was in hand, log signed and all returned as found. TFTC
DD approaches this cache with some trepidation, as she hS spent many hours hunting unsuccessfully for caches on items such as this! However, today the gods smiled and the cache was in hand in a relatively short time. Lucky really, as we do t know when we will be back this way from Tassie again. TFTC
The Big Western Australia trip in 2018. Day 9. Today was a long day getting to head North, starting with a loop around the East McDonald Ranges, including Trephina Gorge and Arltunga. I got to revisit the Plenty Highway via the current Binns track and after a quick stop at Gemtree back to the Highway till dusk.
Not the smallest cache I have found, but even on this small machine it seems to disappear very easily.
Thanks.

Whenever we go to remote or semi-remote places we seem to come across another Liz and Bruce cache and so too at Ross River Resort where we are spending a few days at the annual “Big Sing on the Desert”. First quick cache search in the late afternoon heat was unsuccessful. On the next occasion I stood back and pondered. Then put my hand in a likely spot and voila. Success. TFTC Liz and Bruce. And thanks redcenterdazza for maintaining. Found 21/4/18 3:06 pm. Cache 1509 for us.

We absolutely loved our night camping in Ross River. Great talks and lovely people! The location of the cache was obvious, finding it took a little more time, but our name is on the logroll. Thank you and greetings from the Netherlands!
On our way out to Arltunga. Great views and bushland made
the hunt for caches really interesting. Of course we had to
have coffee and milkshakes at the old homestead. Loved it.
Thanks Liz and Bruce.

After a week or so in Alice doing maintenance and repairs to the car and camper as well as grabbing a few caches we resumed our trip east picking up whatever caches we could fin
After a DNF here back in early June due to muggles we had to come back and try our luck again today but this time it worked out well for us. There wasn't a person in sight, we were able to park close to gz and search to our heart's consent and after our second circumnavigation we located the slightly larger than expected cache and happily added our name to the log.
Thanks Liz and Bruce for the cache.

Back in Alice Springs after a month in Darwin catching up on caches not collected on our last visit. Love the outback and the trekking around the Binns Track. An easy find, but took longer than it should have done.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

I hope they have been modernised a bit inside
Too early this morning to pop into the bar for a coldie,
so I made meself busy finding the cache at the gate
It took me a few minutes
TFTC and a chance to find love at the end of Highway 8 [^]

Staying for several nights at beautiful Ross River Station, a quick cache find was a terrific bonus. Our first find on ANZAC Day, thanks Liz and Bruce.
A quick find while attending the nt mega tftc found with toy hunters. After finding it we had a ginger beer then as walking back to the car. We saw a local aboriginal showing off a big lizard he had just shot for his dinner tftc
Found on our Red Centre Experience. After a long walk with mr_roo to Trephina Gorge, we drove to the pub at Ross River to grab ourselves a cold ginger beer, to watch Hawthorn vs Geelong and to get this cache before heading back to Alice Springs. Once at GZ, it took longer than it should have to uncover this hide. Great little artefact at this location. TFTC Liz and Bruce and thanks to mr_roo for a fantastic day out!
17 April 2017 4:25 PM Found with Gonefishen07 and Ashy's Angels on our little adventure to Alice Springs. Thank you for taking the time to place the cache and show us this beautiful area.
Found with Hearse068 and Ashy's Angels We had a fun time travelling around the area. Still here for a couple of days with car issues so best go find some more treasure. Thanks for the effort taken to place this Cache TFTC thanks Liz and Bruce for hiding this out here was well worth the drive fav point for this place
Found with i, dax during the Alice not-a-mega. Took a while but was easy in hindsight. Purchased our lunch here for old times sake. This used to be our local pub and we visited regularly whilst living at Trephina. Thanks Liz and Bruce.

Caching my way from Adelaide to Alice Springs via Uluru for the Red Centre Experience event. Today was day six and our last full day in Alice Springs. My travel companions AlphaDeltaIndigo, Moneydork, semik and I grabbed everything we could as we explored eastwards into the ranges. The day ended at Felix II's caravan and a glass of wine in hand...
This was find number 15 of 28 for the day for me. TFTC Liz and Bruce!

Caching in the Alice Springs and Eastern MacDonnell ranges region for the long, long weekend all thanks to the Red Center Experience geocaching event in Alice 13-17th April 2017. My apologies for a generic log, but I'm notorious for not logging my caches. I am just trying to get up-to-date so someday I can celebrate milestones again. cheers and thanks to all for their efforts to make the hide findable and most in a location worthy of a visit without geocaching (but I'm glad I got a smiley too!)

15/04/2017 15:49 Along with my wife Sue and daughters Rhiannon and Rachael I am here for the Alice event 'Red Centre Experience'. Our trip along the Ross highway today. Just got to the end of the road but risked the dirt to park the Van for a refreshing bevvy inside. After a look around we headed back but not before stopping here for the search and sign. I actually walked through the cabins to get here as I didn't use the map to find GZ. It would have been quicker to just have driven up to it. TFTC Liz and Bruce TNLN SL
Camped at Blatherskite Park for the Red Centre Experience. Woo Hoo its finally here.
Out to complete the Binns track caches today. We just loved the scenery around Ndhala Gorge.
Our map is looking quite bare now.

Our first full day of caching since arriving for the Mega later this week. Decided to head out of town with iluvtrekking to explore the surrounds along Ross Hwy. What a little gem this place is. Definitely one to come back to for a longer leisurely stay. Met the new manager and explained geocaching to her. Left new log sheet, checked out the camping grounds and moved on to our next cache. Thanks Liz & Bruce
This was pretty much our turn around point for today's drive. After a picnic lunch, then an icecream at the homestead we went to look for this cache. It reminded us of the GCA curse the hider series but our little 5yo found it very quickly. TFTC
Spotting a touch of colour gave the hiding place away for this one, so it was soon retrieved and our name was quickly added to the log. It was then replaced and we were soon on our way. Thank you to Liz and Bruce for placing this cache at this remote resort.
Found with SpatialRiq after setting up camp for the 2016 World Rogaining Champs. TFTC!
This weekend the World Rogaining Championships are being held here, Ross River station is the base camp for almost 700 competitors.
While here we stopped off for a look, took a few minutes but finally found the cache.
Back on Saturday morning for the 24hr event ... Should be fun. TFTC.

We thought we'd still try and have a look in case this one was still around. Unfortunately not and we didn't have any spare replacements. Hopefully someone will replace it soon for the CO. Loved our drive out through the East Macdonnell Ranges. Sad we couldn't get a smilie on our eastern most point if our trip.
This one may need replacing - if you are there and cannot find it and are able to replace it would be greatly appreciated given its remote location. With thanks from Liz and Bruce
No luck for us here. Quite a lot of dirt and leaves piled to one side. A new water fitting has been put in just behind gz. Or perhaps we just didn't find it. Thanks.
With Mrs one-eyed and our 4wd we spent a lovely day in the East Mac's photographing and caching.
We were last here on the track through N'dhalia Gorge via the back road.
Found the cache okay it was in good condition.
Good to see the the Ross hwy being upgraded, long overdue.

We found this cache on our Northern road trip, which was to celebrate my significant birthday. We saw some great places, met some wonderful people and slept through some 3 dog nights. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and finding caches made the trip more memorable – Thank you and ……Joy to the World!!
Up in Alice from Geelong. Getting as many caches as I can while up here.
Today headed east to explore stopping at caches along the way of course.
Lost beautiful and breathtaking scenery along the way. Absolutely love it in the Territory
Replaced cache with what I had on hand. Had spare logs and a half empty mint tin.
Placed under rear side of wheel down really low
Thanks Liz and Bruce for the cache

I am sure I found the place but no way I was going to feel around with a bare hand given the well-earned reputation of Australia's poisonous creatures. Had a very good look but did not see anything. It is a long time since the cache was logged and I know there was a lot of flooding recently so I decided it must have gone. CO - please delete this "found log" if you feel I don't deserve the find. I'll send a photo of the site when I get home to Scotland.
Found during our trip from Alice Springs to the east - with main goal N'Dala Gorge! THis one was a quick find.. Thanks for a nice cache!
Located by Lead 'n Lace on the eastern portion of our northern adventure. The secondary co-ords were spot on. Signed log and departed. For a tourist venture, the signage was not at all welcoming, so no ice-cream for Lead!!
Cheers.
Cheers.
Wow. Great little container. Really had me stumped for a while. Thanks for the hide.
Found as part of our 5 week trip from Adelaide to Lawn Hill and then onto the Territory.
Apologies for the late logs but Vodafone doesn't cover much of that part of the world.
We found 109 and had 10 dnfs, some more than once.
We bought petrol here for $2.30 a litre. Ouch!

Took a moment to locate the small cache and while being distracted, I was caught red-handed by an approaching fellow camper, fortunately also a geocacher. It is always nice to meet like-minded people. TFTC!
Camped nearby the cache, so we first put up our tent. Then we suddenly noticed a suspicious person near the object and met Sanitiser, who handed us the cache over. Nice to meet you!
Despite the in frequent visits to this cache it might be a while before anyone visits anyway, but the next finders may have more difficulty due to a large amount of fire damage to the resort.
According to this article the homestead has been saved, but a lot of the resort has been burnt, probably including the cabins which were constructed many decades ago.

Of course we had to detour to find another Liz and Bruce hide. The place has certainly seen better days, but the surrounding scenery is still great. TNLN, but Trecaz Trakkie TB visited. Thanks again, Liz and Bruce!
