Logs

We are a bit confused about this cache as it was not listed as archived when we updated our GPS. Anyway, we looked & couldn't find it, but then it was apparently across the river. No show of crossing safely with that much water raging past, so the level must be a lot lower in the summer. How about adapting it for winter as well, seeing as we made the trip?

Checked cache after big floods over the last few months and still in place so it looks as though it will be safe for good.
If you dont want to get your feet wet then you can cross the road bridge, walk up the road, line the bolder up with the road sign and climb down the steep bank. Probably a summer one so you can enjoy getting wet.

Cache is still there and dry and in good condition. Came up here for a road bike ride. An adventure to get to the cache. Rocks and bike shoes don't mix! TFTC. BTW, you can re-enable it without having to check cos it's all ok.

It is there and in good condition. Lots of muggles when I arrived swimming.
My GPS put me out last time and I wasn't thinking too well. TFTC

Took ages to find but other notes helped us in the end. Great afternoon playing in pools and jumping off the high rocks with kids. They loved it! TFTC

Even reading the logs and getting our feet wet, we couldn't find the cache Sad. Will try again another day.

[Sadly a DNF for us. Spent 30 mins here looking and were in the right location (fern = ponga?) but even Gekoh's revised co ords didn't help us. With help from TParty (after we left unfortunately) we now know where to look] which will involve getting our feet wet.

[I'll be back!]

New gps coordinates from other geocacher that are probably more accurate than mine as my gps is antique

Found it on a slight detour on the way home from the Kaimai's, followed the cache instructions and got there pretty easily, although at first we thought it as on the other side of the "main" road, the co-ords were a bit out, we have taken a pretty accurate reading at the cache (7m accuracy) so you should be able to get it from that, might pay to edit your coords as some might not read the description, hint bang on.

our coords were : [black] S 37° 45.661 E 176° 14.512

[blue]Well done on your first cache placement, most enjoyable spot, bit cold for the jumping in the pool bit tho!!

Wow - that looks like fun! Even my son who is not too keen on caching anymore wants to visit this one.

FTF. Yay... our first Big Grin Very close to home so got up early and conquered this before work. No photos though, it was way too cold for swimming. Something didn't seem quite right with the co-ordinates and it was hard to find in the gloom but once the sun came out and shed some light on the subject, the hint kicked in and was spot on. Left travel slug. TFTC
