What a great walk it was down into Knox Gorge. Due to limited coverage and forgetting to screenshot the spoiler photo, it was guesswork. I even swum across to check a couple of trees. Later I realized I was right where the spoiler photo was, but there was no cache. 0 of 2 on Karijini caches today
Found with kiwinic on our annual northern holiday. We found this one a few days back but with no service around Karijini we decided to log them once home. An easy find but a decent walk. We loved Karijini and will be back. TFTC

Very tough walk today on a very hot WA day. Had a lovely swim at the end of the gorge walk. TFTC
This was our hardest gorge yet. Thanks for the geocache waiting for us at the bottom!
At the place of the spoiler pic there was no cache. Therefore we placed a new canister at this place.

Today our tour - which began in Perth, WA , and led us thru Western, Northern and Southern Australia back to Perth, was simply visiting the Karijini NP.
On the way we came to some interesting locations. Here we searched, found and logged this Tradi-Cache.
Weather was good in the morning and it should even get better during the day.
Thanks to 'Zodiakhorizon & K-Maximus' for showing us this location, for the fun we had with 'North West Wander No.20 - Knox Gorge' and the smiley. The search here and today didn't take too much time, fortunately.
We provided a not so perfect but efficient replacement cache with a sufficient logbook in a little plastic cover.
Greetings from Germany and we hope to see you soon in the forest, prairie, desert or outback .

All the gorges in Karijini are so, well, gorgeous ... and very different from each other. You really have to see them all. After indulging in the gorges of the Weano area in the days before, today we hiked Dales Gorge and then descended down into Knox Gorge on our way back to Karijini Eco Retreat. The track is steep and gravelly but no problem with decent hiking boots. At the bottom of the gorge great views open in either direction.
There was basically nobody there -- we met exactly three people during the time we spent in the gorge! We looked for the original container as well as the replacement one. The flies seemed to be very interested in our search which we then broke off. Maybe the owners will kindly accept our fotolog -- which we supply in a somewhat unusual form (not at the coords but at the end of the gorge. Just to show other cachers how breathtaking the scenery is down there! We strongly recommend going into Knox and go "all the way". The hike back out is steep but doesn't really take that long! )
Thanks a lot for placing a cache in Knox (and possibly replacing it at some point in the future -- we, unfortunaltely, didn't have a replacement container with us). Best greetings from Switzerland

No luck for us! We found the spot where the hint indicates for the original cache, tried to search for the replacement but with no internet we couldn’t load the photos. We had a good look around where we thought it could be but no luck!
Nice gorge, too bad the cache is gone. We found the place of the hint, so I hope a photo log will be accepted until the cache has been replaced.

Visited this one on my grand adventure northwards. I had read the all the previous DNF logs before coming, so brought a replacement cache with me, in case I too couldn't find the cache. Despite my best efforts, I too agree that the original cache is probably not there. I found a spot within 3m of where my gps was indicating gz where I found a suitable niche to conceal the cache (see photo). Hope the CO is happy with this improvised placement. Thanks for placing this cache for the rest of us to come and find Zodiakhorizon & K-Maximus
Man....3 DNF’s so far in Karijini...not happy Jan...took a long time to get down and in to Knox to search high and low. used the hint and read the other logs to no avail
Climbed all the way down with the hope of finding this cache which hasn’t been found since 17. No luck for us, even with the clue
pug002 started down the incline 19/8/2018 and decided we would be sensible, just too much for us, after all the rough roads etc. Thanks for your efforts Zodiakhorizon.
Found on June 24. Looked in the wrong place because of dodgy GPS readings on my machine. Once I started using my Geocaching Brain I soon found it. TFTC.
Great place for cache

Found at 11:34:00 AM. Camping in Karijini for a couple of nights to see the gorges. If not for the cache at the bottom of this gorge we probably would not have walked down. Thanks for placing this cache as the gorge was spectacular.
Thanks Zodiakhorizon.
Thanks Zodiakhorizon.
Had some spare time in the afternoon while the other half had a nap so decided to head down to Knox gorge for a wander and a cache. Found the cache quickly after reaching the bottom of the gorge then headed onwards up stream to enjoy the views hidden there. Returned to the track to do the walk to the end of the gorge. All in all a great time. Thanks for the cache
Discovered the most amazing pool when leaving Knox gorge, went for a swim and we just enjoying life when I remembered the geocache was meant to be around a nice pool, didn't even have to move to realise where it was and find it!! Tftc
Day seven and eight of Barnzy12 and Cravo10 adventure to the Northwest of WA, filling out boots with LGAs, rare DT, old caches, and good old fashioned red dirt!
Day 7 saw us travelling from the our furthest point north on the trip in Port Hedland to Karijini National Park via Munjina, Tom Price and then back to Karijini.
We collected most caches between Port Hedland and karjini drive which we used as a turnoff into Karijini and ultimately Tom Price, which is my former home. We cached about, with me giving Cravo a guided tour of the lovely and picturesque town that has had a large number of upgrades since I last came through.
We found most of the caches in Tom Price before heading out to Karijini, which was our home for the next two nights, we checked in after grabbing a couple of caches along karjini drive including an archived cache.
We checked into our accomodation and had an hour to spare before dinner so I convinced Cravo that we should head to Oxers lookout and get some great snaps there, after grabbing both the traditional and the earth cache there I coaxed him down to weano George and ultimately the amphitheatre to grab a T5 cache by ZH before running back to the top of the gorge for dinner. We completed the gorge walk in 40 mins, including finding the cache, the recommended time on the signpost was 3hrs!!
We stayed at the Eco Retreat that night in one of their purpose built Eco tents which are highly recommend, a truly brilliant experience.
The next morning day 8 we explored the gorges as best we could picking up as many caches as available with a couple of them being unavailable due to road upgrades and some fires that have ripped through parts of Karijini. Highlight of the day was a huge swim at fortescue falls which left the both of us with some severe sunburn.
We completed the other t5 cache at Knox gorge which was a big walk down and a bigger walk back up. I was amazed at the upgrades that they had made to the stairs at fortescue falls, it used to be climbing down rocks.
Tomorow sees us heading towards the mining town of Newman, and with the obligatory detours on the way there!
Container was sodden here so we replaced it with a 200ml sistema and added some additional covering to keep it going for another couple of years hopefully!

we may have introduced our selves to some German Backpackers that were a great laugh and good company giving them the one luxury that they were missing during there times travelling OZ - "Cold water"it may not of lasted long but was a absolute treat for them as a bag of ice to buy in the are was $6.50 minimum and out of there price range
We completed the other t5 cache at Knox gorge which was a big walk down and a bigger walk back up.

First hike in the morning this was again a big climb down and an even bigger climb back to the top there were however some good rest stops here providing little shade but well rewarding

A easy find once I found the correct spot. After climbing down the gorge (with my bad back and knees) I found the GPS suggesting it was on the other side of the pool, and with the hint appearing to suit I forded the waters (where the weed is) and looked for about 20 minutes all the time telling myself 'He would not put it here'. After telling myself just that for the umpteenth time, I looked across the pool and saw exactly what the hint suggested, so waded back and just before I began the hunt again I noticed 'the stump'. After several expletives were muttered I looked into the stump and now you know why this is a Found log. Before starting I figured that being a remote cache, the log may have needed replacement, so I brought a new log strip and signed and left it, though the current logs (which are quite useable) were placed into the plastic bag. The coin was left at the bottom of the container - I had no swaps with me).
Through all of this I met and was helped by a young couple who may just become Geocachers, and sat talking with them for 20 minutes or so - lovely people. Thanks to ZodiakHorizon for the cache and for bringing me to this most beautiful spot.

Nice Gorge, but not the best in Karijini. Even if the walk is classified as "class 5" it is not a terrain 5 for the GC!! That's 3,5-4 not higher... Don't like this wrong ratings, I expected more adventure (which we had but not here).
22.05.16 tftc, well bradandjanet and I looked at this one last night, Janet politely said not to do it at night as it is a class 5 walk, Mrs G just called me a bloody idiot for even asking, so Brad and I decided an early morning raid was in order, so Sunday morning I am woken by Mrs G ( punch in ribs) and told that Brad was up and waiting, moan moan scratch and wee, and we are off. Quick drive to carpark, moderately scramble down and Brad had cache in hand, logs signed, obligatory photos and scramble up the hill, stopping every 5 metres to " enjoy the view" so 30 mins total up and down time, as we were on a time schedule so didn't see rest of gorge
This cache was found while we are on our Brad&Janet's Excellent Adventure to WA. Travelling with Mr and Mrs Grump68, Mr and Mrs Yang, and the Others.
One of the challenges on the trip was to try to keep a cache a day streak alive. But that was of secondary importance to the Adventure itself.
We organised two events. One in Karajini NP on 20 May and one in Broome on 27 May.
The adventure so far has included a kangaroo charging and head-butting our car left rear door while we were effectively stopped. And a big challenge which was the differential internal locking bolts starting to undo themselves while we were on the Menzies to Sandstone road a mere 570km east of Geraldton.
This enforced a change of plan which took two teams (Brad&Janet and Mr and Mrs Grumpi68) to Geraldton. Which was not a bad thing at all
While in Geraldton we found a few local caches and even managed a first 2 find on a D4.5/T5 6 week old cache in the centre of town!
The other two couples and 4WDs continued on the planned route north and we eventually caught them at Coral Bay after our 4WD had finished its refreshment at the Geraldton ARB Day Spa
Since then we have had a great week in Karijini NP grabbing a few caches on the way.
This was one of the Karijini ones. Karijini is a bucket list place. You should visit if you have not done so.
Grumpi68 and I got up early and fairly quickly managed to climb down and find this one. Another beautiful spot.

The waterhole is amazing. We came here for the cache so thank you for showing us this gorge.
What a gorgeous spot. Found the cache easily then had a swim. Hot day in the park. Well over 40 degrees so the swim was very welcome. Thanks for the cache.
Found at 3:33 PM GAFF5 in the company of xambo4u at a distance of about 14 - 20 metres which is typical in this difficult type of location.
.Well we didn't think we were going to do this cache considering the D/T rating, but when we got to the top we said - it is just over there. So off we go full of beans. It wasn't that hard to get down and at the bottom we found an oasis and the water was so cool. So glad though of a descriptive hint as the co-ords were way out and we would never have found it otherwise. With a T of 5.0 we would have scaled the stone wall which is where the GPSr was pointing.
Thanks Zodiakhorizon.

Out and about with pprass and &others on our travels around WA. While camping at Dales Gorges we made the drive to check out some of these other beautiful gorges. I wanted to go to this gorges as I had bought a post card of it and did not ant to send it without seeing it. Because of the rating we did not give it a thought till we got there and read previous logs. Instant decision, while the others admired from above we took to the track. Good shoes is a must. Got to the waters edge and found other people come down for other reasons but we did not disturb them. Thank goodness for the hint as we was some 14 metres out which can be expected. Thanks for bringing us here Zodiahorizon
Geo-mum was a little worried that a class 5 walk might be to hard for the kids, but with proper shoes it has not been a problem at all. The cache was an easy find thanks to the spoiler and the swim was just amazing - even with the cold water. The small waterfall on the other side was warm and way better than the shower we didn't have this morning...

What a spot! We would have been in for a swim if it wasn't so cold. TFTC
Found it but can't but wonder how it will go when the gorge is in full flood?
Fantastic pool, had a quick refreshing dip. TFTC.

Last climb for the day and the biggest. A lovely setting for a cache so I'll give it a fav. Thanks Zodiakhorizon.
This was another find in Western Australia while crossing Northern Territory and Western Australia from Darwin to Perth on Gibb River Road through the Kimberlys. During this 8500km journey we've met many nice and friendly people [^], visited countless marvelous places, saw lots of interesting local wildlife (and plants), took some 2500 pictures home and logged some 300 Caches .
This one has not quite the right D/T rating for us as "mountain people" [)], but still a very nice place .
Thanks for the cache, we've enjoyed it very much [^].

We are on a return visit to Karijini after first visiting 4 years ago. It is our favorite spot in Western Australia.
When we visited then there was only one cache, at Dales Gorge which fortunately we found. Great to see a range of new caches this time. Thank you.
Each gorge here is different, with the end point of Knox being really spectacular with this tall sides and many ledges.
The descent down to the gorge is OK but unfortunately we forgot the red cordial for the ascent. Nice and steady was the answer, but the walk along the gorge below is certainly worth the effort.
There were few muggles about at GZ so using the clue we were able to make a quick find. No clue would have been interesting as the GPSr doesn't like the gorges much.
A favorite from is for a cache in a marvelous location.

On a three week road trip north, through the Pilbra, Karijini then over to Exmouth. Caching along the way to help see some sights and have some breaks. Had great weather all trip apart from the last week once we hit the coast. Never the less, had a great trip.

Great walk down to the cache. Takes less than 20min to cache but well worth the walk to Knox gorge. Water was super warm. TFTC
Using the hint this was pretty easy but without I would have been a long way off. Loved the gorge. Anticipating this one since before leaving home.
Nice spot. Gorge plays havoc with GPS. My GPS put the cache in the water by 10m. Needed the hint.
We enjoyed the scramble down to GZ and found a pretty wet little cache. Left it to dry out while we went for a swim in the end pool. Pretty cold but we rated it the best swim of all our gorge swims.
Thanks ZH. Great location which we loved

Well I thought I had seen the best of Karijini but wow Knox Gorge rates right up there. This is my 3rd visit and won't be long to my 4th
Spectacular spot
Note Log is wet and unreadable I left my log on a separate piece of paper, unfortunately I did not have time to dry it out. Needs attention

I cant believe I didnt log this initially.
My first play with iPhone in Karijini, not all my logs came through.
I had loaded it up and was surprised with the accuracy.
A nice walk down here. Had done the easy one nearby at the lookout and this was well worth the walk.
My next trip here will be the Amphitheatre. And probably a bit better prepared.
A wet log so left my name on a seperate piece of paper.
My new bucket list, complete the northwest wander series.
How to time it with work trips up here ? Some more winter trips for the Mountain walks I think

TFTF. Great water holes. It was a beautiful spot a bit tricky to get down though.
Great gorge - our first time into this particular gorge, and well worth it - loved it, especially the view over the falls at the end, and also this nice pool at the start. Fav point from us.
What a wonderful gorge to explore, challenging to the eye as well as the legs (or whatever methof of advancement you might choose). A great place to admire what the various forces of nature can achieve - definitely worth a favourite point.
A bit of a demanding descent into the gorge for the average tourist hiker like me, but thanks to good shoes it was fun. We first looked for the cache in the wrong area before we finally looked at the more obvious spot. The gorge was wonderful to walk through and provided great pools for a bath, we could also hear a waterfall in some distance. We would have explored more of the gorge if sundown had not been close, but we wanted to climb up at daylight.
Gotcha !!! The hint certainly helped .Then we headed off down the gorge to the level 6 point....Fantastic !!
Wished I had climbing ropes etc. to complete the level 6 part. Also wished I was a bit younger....My first canyon abseil was over 50 years ago in the gorges of the Blue Mtns in NSW so just perhaps I'm a bit past it. Just hate to admit it. Thanks Zodiakhorizon for bringing us here , bringing back treasured memories and TFTC

Shot down the gorge while the rest of the family enjoyed the views above. Lucky I looked at the photo or else I would never have found it, GPS said I was still 20 metres away. Clever spot - many thanks
Well, with such descriptive hint it very hard to miss it.
Might need to disguise the hint a little bit

Found it , our first FTF.
Note: our Garmin Oregon had GPS accuracy 4m however was pointing on other side of the pool. The cache was found when GPS was saying 15m to go ... => just follow the hint, not to hard to find it.
This is one of the best gorges if Karijini so don't miss this one.

Have added a hint despite no FTF. This is mainly due to the fact the whole of the northwest series will be archived before much longer. Hopefully will assist a finder in an FTF before archiving.
We had spent the morning exploring the Gorges in this part of Karajini NP.
I noticed the cache was close by,
We then spent the next hour searching every nook and cranny for this micro.
Dusk was approaching and we decided this one was just too difficult without some form of hint.
A great gorge system, worthy of more exploration.
Thanks
