Spent a good half hour of fruitless searching , couldnt find any dead gorse bush but got scratched, pricked , stabbed by everything else . Then a K9 muggle came up the track ahead of its owner and cocked its leg on my jacket lying on the seat WEELL I thought I might flag it until another day, but the weather was beauty had a awesome view
The cache was out in the open. I placed it back under the bush slightly on its side as the top of the container was smashed. TFTC it was a lovely walk up there and great views
Found this track quite by accident. Local shop keeper at yarn place suggested the walk up to see an amazing view of the town. Wasnt disappointed. Visiting from Oz. Friends have gone horseback riding and Im exploring the town. TFTC
Thanks for he great hunt, but it does need to be replaced, it's soaked. Do be careful when grabbing it though, it's under a sharp plant.
Thanks Red Panda & Friends for the cache. Its #1860 for us. We found your cache on Thursday 16 November 2023. Lovely views from here. Log very wet
Red Panda & Friends, your geocache Clyde Lookout (Central Otago) (GC2HAPW) needs urgent maintenance. We visited it on 16 November 2023 and log saturated and needs drying or replacementCheers Bunkshyde
Tried the direct approach but found too many prickly bushes. Backtracked and found a trail that was a bit kinder. TFTC

out and about with dsi and annielin. Beautiful day to visit places I've not been , and hunt for little hidden containers. great day for it!
Back in Clyde for an evening at a friends place. Had a little bit of spare time this morning for the new Ad Lab and too add a smile to this previously unfound cache. Cache it all good and dry. Walked straight to it today.
thanks Red Panda and Friends.
thanks Red Panda and Friends.
We got up to the top and looked down toward where GZ would be and were puzzled. Hmm, not going there. On our walk back down the I gave this some more thought and yes, GZ is much easier to reach from the track. No bush bashing and getting legs all scratched up.
Tftc. Great view over Clyde. Came down here from chch for the rail trail. Short walk downhill from lookout
TFTC waiting for an xray at Dunstan so thought I'd do some caching whilst in the area
Id pretty much run out of time, but decided to do the short dash up to look for the cache. A quick find thankfully. TFTC
We drove across from Oamaru this morning and the closer we got to Clyde the warmer it got - topping out at about 35 degrees. And it stayed like that until well into the evening! So I nearly didn't go for the walk up to the lookout. Unfortunately the high point was a bit disappointing with the civil works going on. TFTC.
9. cache today. Little bit soggy. Found after dnf of Clyde's only mystery, I must have wrong coordinates albeit I double checked them.
Found on the crazy bike trip from Luggate to Alexandra to meet 2 friends, to find some caches around, to sweat a lot of energy.

Had to go to Alexandra today and had time to wait for an appointment so had time for a bit of caching.
Cheers for the cache.
Cheers for the cache.
Had to wait till the road works happening in the town finished so I could follow the Great reading about the history of the town and people.

Tftc good compass directions easy find for us. Cool to see the bridge from over here
Find it! Took a few minutes of searching, had to look up the hill slightly. Good one!
After competing in the MTB Orienteering Champs in Alexandra I visited Clyde and then drove to the lookout above town. I walked down toward GZ but when I found that the cache was somewhere in the thorny jungle below the track to the reservoirs I abandoned all thought of bush bashing 24m through that stuff. [xx(]
Found after a bit of a search Seems a bit exposed but left it as I found it TFTC
We are out and about in the area finding some caches and enjoying exploring and revisit other areas again.
Great views from here.
Thank you Red Panda & Friends.

We're hunting Tour caches and anything that's not slowing down our objective to much. Today is the opposite. Just one Tour Cache in the area but we take what's on offer without bikes and within our capabilities. The biohazard sign had been ignored enough that a path had formed either side of the locked gate. So we set forth in pursuit of this cache. We took a seat and took in the views, then the terrain, then the D/T. After a false start that rapidly increased the T rating the cache was soon in hand. Red Panda and Friends
I should trust my instincts and phone lol would have saved me more walking down hill.not looking forward to going back up.seat near by has great views.
This is a simple yet very enjoyable cache. It has a lot of great views, a place to sit and think, a few red herring locations and a hide that is just the right difficulty to find. Tftc!
Cache 392 The view from this cache is fantastic and the smell of thyme amazing it fair filled the air ️ did a quick run down the hill till I hit GZ but the cache was right out in the open just sitting on a rock, so I signed log and added a rock bug to the cache then placed it in a slightly less conspicuous spot but still at GZ so it doesn’t Muggled cache is in good condition, then had to trek back up the hill OUCH my calves lol T4TC
Found with the little intrepid Harlandia explorers after lunch with my ageing Dad. Tftc
Had a nice lunch with Great-Pop and now stopping for an exploration of Clyde dam lookout with Granny Raylnz.
Gambled on trying to Bush bash my way down instead of the leisurely stroll, gamble did not pay off haha TFTC
The track is a good way to warm up on a chilly winters day! Found it no problem.
Looked for this one last year but never saw the trail for some reason and didn't fancy a steep scramble down the bank. Quick find when stopped for lunch.
Went for a walk up to the lookout on a nice Sunday morning. Nice view up there.
Bush where it us hidden is really spiky, so be careful. TFTC

Checked in to amazing accommodation at Oliver’s and walked up to the lookout. Great view from up here. Tftc
In town visiting friends with kids who love geocaching. What was I to do? I couldn't say no!
This was the third find of four today (including avenging a DNF up at the lookout).
This was the previous DNF! I hadn't logged it as I was with the same kid I had today (only younger) & in jandals, so could have looked harder. Today I was still in jandals but the kid is almost 10 now. I also had more info from previous logs.
Not sure if that's the original "ground cover type plant", if it is it's a mean trick - Bush Lawyer! Showed the young fella the evil backward facing thorns and then we carefully removed the cache to sign the log. Happy days, and still time for one more.

Be careful of thorny buggery bushes. Easy find when I stated looking in the right place.
Our 20th find of the day. The GPS was pretty much spot on here. I suspect the gorse bush that was dead nine years ago has disappeared as you would expect. The cacghe when we arrived was completely visible so we’ve covered over with a flat stone slightly better. Great seat nearby to sit and do the logging.
Well - no dead gorse any more and the cache was not under ground cover pant but under a flat stone. Super view over Clyde from here. TFTC
