Looked in a few obvious spots but couldn't find. Don't know what I was missing. Still a really nice spot
A quick find this evening, what a charming spot up here and an interesting road. TFTC
Found at dark minus 5 this evening and found everything saturated. Took the cache back to the tent to dry out and add a new log page then replaced it the next morning. There was no 'hint' nearby so found a nice one that may help keep things a bit drier. Also liberated a TB that has apparently not been logged in and will release it at a later date. Spent the next day kayaking through to L Sumner, a gray rainy day with absolutely NO wind that left the lake like a mirror. Beautiful!! TFTC
In the area for the weekend and came up from L Taylor for the afternoon. Enjoyed the 4x4 section and arrived at this nice location. Thanks
Found it and put a travel bug inside. Had a brand new log book due to water damage on the old one but it was soaked too. Container was filled with ice and water when we found it. We were first to sign it the new log. A cool spot though.
Thanks for the cache. Great drive but we were supposed to be tramping. Performed a little maintenance as the log was totally saturated. Needs a new pencil sharpener next time.
Unfortunately the cache was waterlogged so couldn't leave a note. It needs a good dry and will probably need the notepad replaced. Great location though. Lock Katrine is awesome!
We went for a walk towards lake Sumner. A really nice spot. But it needs maintenance immediately.
Thank you
Thank you
After spending a few days up at Lake Taylor we decided to head up to Loch Katrine for a night... love this spot! We quickly found the cache however the contents were saturated. I've taken a photo to prove our find. This cache will nd a new logbook. The container was the right way up and well covered but still got wet.
Found it while having a bite to eat before paddling up the Loch and out through the canal to Lake Sumner. Tftc
I got up here, mis interpereted the sign on the gate and parked up, thought"isnt there a loch cache here somwhere?, hada look at the GPS and found it about 3 feet from my front wheel. That was easy!!
Cheers and thanks,

What better way to spend a Birthday, than to come to Loch Katrine, for a drive. And like B&B,we also mentioned about these Huts that are to supossed to have gone. The Road in is somewhat better than back in the early 80's,when I brought my boy in here on our Motor Bikes.Ahh Thanks for the great Memories TFTC
A nice easy find while in here for the weekend. A great wee place. There has been a heck of lot of building done since I was last in here, not sure what thats all about as last I heard DOC was trying to get rid of all the huts here. TFTC. Cheers Bo
Hadn't realised there was a cache here when we parked nearby and walked in to Hurunui Hut a few days ago but noticed it on the gps on our way out. Lake level had risen quite a bit to cover the track in places after the heavy rain the previous day. Quick find - TFTC
Couldn't resist this cache so stopped briefly to sign the log before continuing on the MTBing FTF mission to the 2 month old Hurunui Hideaway cache. Here with TikvaNZ and rediguana. Thanks for the cache.

Stopped here for a quick find on our way to Hurunui Hideaway. Travelling by MTB from Lake Taylor with Rediguana and BaldEd. TFTC.

Woohoo - this turned out to be a driveby for us today. We did the cache down the road, and decided since we were so close we should look at this one. As it turned out, we managed to drive right up to this one. Lovely afternoon, but a very cold breeze coming down off the mountains. Good to be back here again (I did the old original cache further up the lake a few years ago). Cheers Gav [8267]
Drove all the way to this one, though the puddles seened pretty deep in my wee car.
Found (on the way back) that I could avoid some of the worst of it by driving through part of the paddock. TFTC - a fantastic day out!

Found easily on a birthday day-trip out from Christchurch. We were on the way to Lake Sumner but the sign on the gate indicated Private Property? plus it was getting late, so did a bit of photography, had a cuppa and started the arduous drive back to Waikari. We were lucky enough to be at Frog Rock when the steam train came through there, so that was another highlight. Awesome spot here. Trickets were a bit lacking so put in what I could.

Bikin up to Lake Sumner and the Hununui Hut for an over night stay so collected on way up. What a lovely place must return for some fishing. Weather was just beautiful although did have a head wind on the way in but lucky it stayed blowing that way so got a good ride home the next day. Picked up TB's as had been there awhile but sorry didn't have anything to leave tftc
My first FTF.... and I left a worthwhile carrot for someone- a couple of trackables- so lets see where they go next....
