Well that sucks....
dropped in today whilst on a lunchtime walk and ran my hand over the spot the cache should have been. Sadly the magnetic key holder was nowhere in sight...err touch. It seems that someone has found themselves a little key hide or piffed it somewhere.
I'll put a new hide out soon to replace this once again missing container.
Sorry for the inconvenience...
Cheers

We looked and looked but to no avail. Went and got torch and looked again, too good for us today.
After 15 mins of scouring the train and surrounding area we could not find it. That's two dnf today
Made it here just before some fellow cachers!! Looked for this one for a very long time, only for geo kid to find it!! TFTC!
Just a we arrived i noticed the Mother and Son team (that we previously waited for) riding their bikes across the creek. As we quickly made our way to GZ Poppet11 and geokids began searching. I kept an eye on the other cachers as they sneakily walked around the train trying to hide their GPSr. then they decided to have a bite to eat. As i joined in the search geokid made the find.
As we drove off i said "Good Luck" and received just a stare from the other cachers. lol
Looking in my rearview mirror as they hastily made there way to GZ. I really enjoy these caching experiences.

Attempted to drop in again today (twice) but the park was full of people once again....makes it bloody hard to plant a new hide! Sadly I wasn't able to come back last week as I stacked my motorbike on the way to one of my other caches. Thankfully no real damage to either of us but a few scratches and bruises and a badly sprained ankle.
I'll try again soon.
Cheers

I'll be visiting this one today....I've got a new hide (3rd) in my pocket though sadly the one I had ready to go has hidden itself on me and I can't find it in the garage. Hmmmm....how to find a black bolt without clues or coords in a pile of stuff...Oh wait we do that all the time
You guys will be looking for a magnetic key holder "somewhere" Muahahahahaha (that's my evil laugh)

Needs to be archived after malea263's log of 30 Dec 2012. We had a brief look, but could not find anything.

With 8 DNF's and a confirmatory log note, perhaps it's time for a bit of intervention with this cache placement.

Cache is no longer here.
I found this when it was at it's original GZ. I have brought a few friends back with no luck. Please archive cache... Or hide a new one with new Coordinates in the cache settings.

The GPS was all over the place and we had no idea where the cache could be. Perhaps it needs to be checked.
Did not find it! Look in various spots but could not find it. Anyway TFTC My nephews enjoyed the train!
This would have to be at least the 5th time that I've looked for this one! Most sneaky container I've ever tried to find... If it's still there??
Don't you just hate it when your first attempt at caching in a new area results in a DNF!! We are here to help Mrs harrowang's uncle celebrate his 80th birthday and thought we would find a couple of caches before meeting for lunch. Even taking note of the new co-ords did not help us to locate this one today. Hope it is still there?
Sorry for late log..misplaced my notepad.
Found while out on a caching day with highrod, ST37E, S 4 Sammy, BPTJ Hillas and TilleyTB.
As they said, cache was repositioned slightly so no-one would need to climb over new fence that has obviously been placed there to stop just this. We decided it was probably put up for safety reasons.
I got the new co-ords as S37 44.660 E142 01.912 but gps was playing up some on an overcast day so they need to be checked.

Nice quick find after some fence climbing, as a group we decided to move the container out of the fence line in a fairly obvious spot, more information will be provided for the cache owner

After reading we rethought our approach on this one ....found it, well...i should commend geogirl for finding it, she w the nimble one today. SL TFTC on a relatuveoy cold but sunny winter's day
Found with AngelFeather and geodaughters. This one was a bit tricky, thanks for kids nimblenes. TFTC SL
Our second attempt at this one. This time we thought about this logically and had cache in our hands quickly. TFTC
Find #937 @ 1750 Hrs. A cold, wintry afternoon. Out & about with other Geo-Family Members.
Thank goodness for smaller nephew's who were able to clamber over this steel giant & grab the cache...

Thank goodness for geo kids, this cache certainly needed little fingers and eyes to scramble and scourer over this beast. I dare say that since the cache was initially hidden that fencing around it wasn't present, still gettable though. TFTC
Thanks juggling ogre. The geokids loved climbing over the train. This took us some time to find but being a wintery day there was muggles so we had plenty of time to look.
Heading out of town back home after Table Tennis training, & it was time for a few caches

#98 - This one was great. We both grew up in Hamilton and hadn't ever really checked out this train! Took us a bit of a search, but found it and signed log! TFTC jugglingogre
Man we were lucky to find this one sooo quick. Blokes can look at trains.
Thanks to jugglingogre and clear skies from TeamAstro.

We got lucky and found this one after a very quick search. Pagan wasn't around the appreciate the train but a great spot for a cache anyway. Thanks jugglingogre
Found this cache during a lunch stop on our way home after a fantastic holiday in Nelson. Geokids had a great time playing on the train. We found an iphone near ground zero (kids thought it would make a great swap!). Left the iphone at the police station and received a lovely phone call from the owner later that night to thank us for handing it in. (Should have asked him if he was a geocacher!)
We only had a few minutes before we had to be on the road - hopefully we will be back in Hamilton one day to find this one
My first official find as my dad found the first one a few days ago. Yay!!! The black marking on the tin is fading. TNLN. TFTC
finally here with no muggles!! took a while, no gps either but found it regardless.

Stayed in the Caravan park nearby, Geotoddlers loved playing but I did not have any luck...GPS seemed unhappy but I found every other one today.

Greetings from Germany - und Gruesse auch nach Deutschland an unsere Freunde, die unsere Tour verfolgen.

Took a bit of locating given all of the muggle visitors to the train and a team of five workers doing maintenance and weed spraying. They were within a few metres of the cache along the creek! It is amazing what can be done if you try. Love the old locos, particularly K class. This one is very much retired but some have been restored. TNLN Found at 1330hrs, thanks for the challenge.
Luck was on my side... I was worried this would take all day to find. It does help to have an adventurous toddler on your side

GPS had us walking around in circles for a little while. But found it in the end. Had to move Itsy out of the way to sign log. TFTC.
The shelter here was very useful in the rain late today. it was almost dark but the great coords led me right to your cache as others seem to have experienced.
Thanks for this one, my last find of the evening.
Thanks for this one, my last find of the evening.
We pulled up here to find two muggles standing on the walking track telling tall tales of their fishing adventures. We had a good look around the train while we waited for them to leave and had to comment on the sheet metal work around the boiler, not sure why they have done this but it's the first one that we have seen like it. With the muggles not looking like they were in any hurry to leave we decided to do another cache and come back. We returned a couple of hours later after visiting the Ansett museum and we had the place to ourselves. We already knew where to look from our previous visit and the cache was found in the second place we looked
Thanks jugglinogre for an easy find on one of these things

Thankfully a quick find while Mrs O and Sir Maxy made a necessary pitstop. The abundance of cobwebs everywhere except the hiding spot made it a bit easier . TFTC.
I just woke up in time for Daddy to get me out of the car and head over to the big train. I've only seen really small trains like this one, so it was amazing to see one so big! I'd love to have a ride on one! I played in the gravel while Daddy found the little tin. TFTC.
#1344 Found on our return trip back east after an Easter stay at Ngarkat Conservation Reserve. When we arrived at GZ it was a unanimous groan......Micro.....Train...... Thankfully the exercise wasn't painful at all and the nicely hidden cache was soon located by Dad helped by good co-ords. TNLNSL TFTC jugglingogre - was glad to make use of nearby ammenities and soap to wash our very dirty caching hands
Just dropped in as I was walking past with the Geokids and checked that all was still good.

Good hiding spot. Took Shannonigans, Fungi Queen and the Glowing Wombats a couple of attempts to get this one (came back with a torch on the second go).
After visiting yesterday and giving up due to a persistant muggle and his two kids we came back here first thing this morning. We set our selves a time limit so we could maximize our finds today and just as we were about to give up we located the cache. SL TFTC
Found by Mary & David at 0800. We often have problems finding caches on things like this. Today, though, we were in luck, and aided by good coordinates. First place David looked! Our thanks to jugglingogre.
We had prepared ourselves to be here a while searching but YAY it didn't take very long at all. Gosh that is one big train... TFTH
Found at 10.30am today with beanie Thought the co-ords were a little out but knew
it had to be somewhere on the train Evetually located and signed the log
Another great train cache and thanks jugglingogre for the cache

I waymarked this train a couple of years ago http://www.waymarking.com/waymarks/WM778G but it was great to revisit it, my daughter certainly enjoyed the visit too.
It's a shame what they've covered up the boiler the way the have though.
Thanks

Took us a while. Definitely needed our torches in the fading light, but eventually geo-son found it. Lots of people walking past.. and lots of mosquitos biting, so it was an interesting challenge. Thanks very much for the cache.

Found the cache with Huffy76 and Bmac & Cindy after a long day of caching in the area. Had to return to the train a few times due to a no find to begin the day and a final find with no muggles around in the dark with a bright emergency torch!
A bump to the head and the light of the torch we found our 3rd for the day! Signed the log and left.
When we got to Tom's train there were some muggles about so we waited till they left before we then had a bit of a look. Very soon after some more people turned up and we heard the magic word "geocache" so we introduced ourselves and had a bit of a joint look. We did the cobweb route while they took the more pleasant one. Soon the cache was in hand and the signing done before replacing cache. Thanks for the cache.
A good hide, and found within 10min, the GPSr was jumping around a bit, but it didn't deter us. TFTH...SL...TNLN
We hadn't twigged on the name as to what would be at GZ. As we pulled up we turned to each other in dismay! As it was geoP found the prize in the first place she looked, lucky considering the sheer number of possibilities on offer.

After reading the comments we'll give it another go this week.

I thought this one might have been a struggle to find, given the multitude of potential hiding spots. Cobwebs indicated where it probably wasn't though, which enabled me to find it after a couple of minutes. This is an impressive train, one I would have loved as a kid. Thanks jugglingogre.
We overshot the runway into the ranch, which meant we simply had to try for this one . We had four pairs of eyes on the search and LZZ(f) eventually extracted the stash from its hidey-hole at 18:05. What a massive engine, I'd love to have seen it in its heyday .
And whaddaya know, I could see my 'house' from GZ .
TNLNSL, although our 1st traveller into the cache geocoin had a visit to mark the occasion. Thanks jugglingogre.

Staying at Lake Hamilton Caravan Park for a weekend of bushwalking in the southern Grampians, this was the nearest cache to our base. Usually trains, cannons and tanks etc give me a lot of grief but this cache wasn't too hard to find. Found at 4pm for a 2TF.
