Nice spot to sit down for a snack and rest half way through doing the power trail. Thanks for bringing us here! Unfortunately we couldn't find the cache.
Looked for this cache some time ago and was not successful. However, we ended up in Rongotea after doing part of the Kasmemoro trail and decided to get a pie from the village store and rest up in the park for a while. Maybe experience does count for something for this time after looking around and deciding where I would hide the cache - it was soon to hand. The log is extremely wet and falling apart. I did dry it somewhat if the sun, but the log could do with being replaced TFTC SL (just)
I had great day caching with a Geocaching friend Geco72.

A caching trip with Mr Casserly...the main purpose the KAS powertrail...but picked up a couple of others on the way...including this one. Tftc
Wow sure is a little country town! On a road trip with timbermills. Quick find and happy that there were toilets here. Quick morning tea break before we head off in search of more caches. Tftc
With an unexpected week off work, it was time for a geocaching roadtrip. I called Bchefj&p and they were also available for a mid week trip. We left Hastings at 6am and departed for the Palmy area with the main mission for today being the KAS Power Trail, and any others that we might be able to grab while we had day light. I ended the day having found 168 caches and DNFed on only 2. Thanks to all the CO's for their placements.
Find #66 so far this morning, with no DNFs, so that is a bonus, though Im sure that will change as the day goes on. Thankful for the facilites here after an eventful morning. Cache was found very quickly as no one was around on this Rainy and windy Tuesday morning. Grabbed morning tea in the car and then headed off for th rest of the KAS power Trail. Thanks for this cache.

A mission was needed to complete one of the last few licence challenges on Rangitoto Island, so a passing comment to C&D at an event and this mission was soon planned. We nearly achieved what we set out to accomplish, with only 1 more cache to find to complete the challenge but that was due to miss-reading the fine print on the challenge page.
So with the mission lasting 48 hours we amassed a great set of numbers, 317 caches found, just over 1200km travelled, about 7 hours of sleep, C&D finding his 180th earthcache, completing the KAS powertrail in under 3 hours and finding numerous amazing geocaches. A lot of fun was had along the way, and some great memories were created. A big thanks to everyone for placing all the caches along the way, this mission wouldn't have been as much fun if they weren't there!
Wasn't keeping an eye on the GPS so ended up in the wrong spot initially, but checked the GPS again when I couldn't spot the hint item and soon worked out what was wrong. Quick find once at the correct spot. Thanks for the hide.

1st of the day. A nice small town and the cache was found after a drive around trying to find the park! A quick find. TFTC.
#6736. Came by Thames Street this Saturday morning to relax in Rongotea before hitting the nearby KAS power trail. Te Kawau Park Playground was all quiet when we visited. Quick find. The cache was in excellent condition, all nice and dry. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log. Thanks for the cache. (#9 of 144 @ 09:24)
(With picnic tables and public toilets available, this location proved to be an ideal spot as the “base camp” for the KAS power trail. We returned here later in the afternoon for a lunch break from the trail.)

Paid more than one visit to this locale. Previous occasions have seen us thwarted by muggle activity. An innate hazard with this type of cache location. Not helped by a couple of blokes wandering around a children's play area! You need to pick your time. This time we were in luck. The coast was clear, just! We waited out a couple of young girls who had been shooting hoops!
Very wet and soggy underfoot.
Thankfully a quick and easy find. Log signed, cache safely re-hidden, just as found.
TFTC found with team cacher Sweet P too
The Turtle strikes again!

Found this one while attending a local Winter Warmer Event. A nice quick find and log and cache in good order.
Princess-Emily (and tmann421) enjoyed the see-saw on this lovely crisp Saturday morning.

Logbook replaced back in May, and didn't log my maintenance correctly h...so here it is.
My younger brother had a four-day table tennis tournament in Palmerston North. Rather than sit around and watch paint dry, I decided to take a caching tour of the Manawatu... Joined by Gap (of Fap and Gap).
A quiet country town around lunchtime... Where are all of the children to enjoy this park? A quick find... TFTC.

Heading north and wandered off SH1 to grab this cache. Got to GZ where there were no muggles about So out with the GPSr which took me right to the spot where a quick search had the cache in hand. Nice little hide. Signed the log and returned the cache to its spot and reconcealed.
Thanks for the placement OusePark.

I'd been up the road finding some of the Challenge caches; headed down this way as a detour before heading to Palmerston North for the evening.
There was more interest in the Volunteer Fire Brigade over the road then there was in my activities - I was certainly impressed with their speed!

Muggles about and I wasnt leaving till I nabbed this cache. Bonus for my boy as he got to play for ages on the playground. Finally able to retrieve cache to find its wet and falling to pieces. Sorry haf nothing to replace it with. Tftc
Quickly found and re-concealed..the log sheet was wet though but still writeable, just had to change pens! TFTC!
Called here today with -gonefishing- and Yeetrees on a day trip to the Manawatu. A quick find in the first place checked - quite a few people about on a Saturday afternoon but fortunately we managed to find the cache in between passers-by. Signed log, TFTC
One of many finds during a weekend cache raid of the area. We enjoyed great weather, fun caches and we managed to fill a few boxes on some challenges we are working towards. Quick find for this one TFTC.
Yes, it sure is quiet & relaxing in Rongotea! I must have been here near rush hour and I counted three cars traveling through the town This was a quick park and grab cache with great coordinates. Cache container and contents are in fine condition tucked away in the hide. Thanks for the hunt today.
We were relocating a rental car from Wellington to Auckland, picking up some requirements for our GIO Licence challenge on Rangitoto Island. Grabbed this cache quickly before a quick stop at the Four Square for a little bite to eat. Thanks for the hide!
In PN for 2 nights so out and about in this lovely weather, such good times

Good day for a drive to the beach, with a little caching on the way. Found this after a good hunt and the clue finally made sense. Tftc, log book is damp
Yet another DNF for me today. A couple of adults with several small children arrived just before me & didn't seem to be in a rush to leave. I managed a nosey around town before leaving though, so TFTC
Popular wee park with the locals. The children were enjoying their ice blocks as they clam bored over the various pieces of equipment. TFTC

Replaced log, dried out... hopefully that sorts it out. Please make sure the lid is tight when you replace it. Thanks to all those who told me of its need for some care
Google Earth was very helpful in pointing me to where the cache was. Log is very wet and unreadable. I have added a small piece of paper and signed that. TFTC!
Driving from Turangi to Wellington today, we are zigzagging our way through this area to pick up a few caches that are far enough apart from each other to count as "remote" for a certain Challenge in Auckland.
Walked across the park and soon understood the hint. The logsheet is a bit wet. Unfortunately we don't have any with us on this trip. TFTC.

Spent ages looking for this one. The clue became obvious after we had found it.
No luck today school holidays and the park full of children playing. Next time maybe??
Working my way north this afternoon looking for caches that are further than two km's apart.
It's great to visit some of the back ways and by ways in travelling this series

Detoured through here in the way home from Feilding, never would have known anymore about this nice town apart from the signposts. Found today by Brandon, one of the muggles I brought along.
Yay!! My 1000th cache find!!! Out with my 3 yr old granddaughter who enjoyed playing in the playground. GPS had me going everywhere for a while, but finally settled down. This area has many memories for me, the site of the old Rongotea Hall, and several years of showing Dahlias - in fact it was here 29 years ago when I first showed dahlias. Thanks for the cache.
Nice hide. Coord were spot on, and i found where cache was hidden straight away. TFTC
Male cacher lead us to the Fertilizer Plant which I commented on - huh - can't be! I looked over the fence and saw the park next door which made a heap more sense and fits the title too! Found cache without too much problem - but of ick on the outside, but the inside was all fine. We had just done the new Honey cache so it made sense to go to PN this way and pick up your cache too... Thanks!
A lovely sunny spring day . What better excuse for a day out geocaching further a field. Picked up Jono S and we set off towards Wellington.
A pretty little town with all the street trees covered in blossom. Spent a good 15 minutes looking. Sure we had the correct spot. But no cache.

Try as we might, we were unable to find this one.
Pretty sure we had the spot, but nothing there?

Found with EnjayNZ on another petrol-saving midnight dual-cache run.
We had some problems finding the correct access method as the GPSr kept swinging too early. First at the street off the square, then down the street to the fertiliser contractor and finally to the correct parking spot.
We hummed and harred about the hide location and checked multiple spots up, under, in and on before I spotted a likely candidate.
Well done on the log. I dislike containers with shoulders, but the matchstick makes it work

We had lunch here then went and looked for the cache, ground very wet but still worth the trip
many thanks

Log getting very tatty, not sure how waterproof this is anymore... replaced container and log.
Quick find with little blue hen. Bit soggy underfoot but cache in good condition. TFTCSL
My first time in Rongotea and it definitely has that slow down take it easy, relaxed feel to the place. It was a cold, wet day today so no one using the park so it made for a quick, easy find although with the recent rain it was very boggy underfoot.
Thanks for bringing me to Rongotea. TFTC

Not the nicest of afternoons so the location was deserted which meant no interuptions and a quick find. TFTC
With both Z-masterNZ and I on leave from work, what better way to spend our time than heading down country and getting a few caches from out of town. The plan was to head for New Plymouth as I have never been there before and wanted to see some of the sights. The plan changed and we ended up in Wanganui, before carrying on to Wellington.
While Z headed for a pitsop, I headed on a cache hunt. GPS played up a little and sent me in the wwrong direction at first but I soon had it. Had it all done and dusted by the time Z came looking for me, he said I was camoflagued really well.
#530.

A nice quick find by Jr Cacher #'s 1 and 2 while the others made good use of the playground.
On another road trip with endmosteye44 - geocaching our little socks off TFTC lovely park
updated log: found originally by will'n'grace, now called willeraus and cazzamatazz
Had a good idea of where the cache was but too many muggles in the area, so will try again another day.
Quick find on the way out after staying with my brother overnight in "greater" Rongatea.
He's sold up hand moving on, so no need to call through this way for a while, so though it best to get this one today.
Quick find and all in good order.
Also captured the nearby munzee - wondered how that would go with no internet connection, but all was fine so must have held the right info til in an area with data coverage.
Thanks
