WA Big Trip Winter 2024. Day 160 - Warwick to Moree via Inglewood and Goondiwindi. The road was a lot quieter today, it made getting on and off the road a much more comfortable experience. I had an enjoyable explore of Goondiwindi in the middle of the day and then passed into New South Wales to be greeted by daylight savings. This meant a later arrival into Moree than I would have liked, but I still got a spot in the show ground and had a quiet night trying to do some logging. As I started my tour of Goondiwindi, I drove past here between Labs so just had to walk over for a look. I am not sure it is a car accessible trail any more, but the picnic idea might be good. The cache was good here as well. Thanks for the cache Gflunk49591.12 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & Space Shuttle Gold A#178**Albida**
Stopover in Goondiwindi tonight. Short walk along the river and was great to stretch the legs. TFTC.
GCLOGAN TripAftwr an overnight stay in Gundy, we headed down to pick up this cache before leaving town. Quick find and all in good condition. I am travelling with GrimRaider to GCLogan and then to western NSW on our first trip with the van. Thanks for hiding this cache Gflunk
I was passing through Goondiwindi on my way to Crows Nest when I decided to break my journey for a cache or two. This was a quick find of a cache in good condition. Thank you Gflunk for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.
Staying the night in Goondiwindi, doing a short road trip as I have to be in Cessnock to watch my grand children as my 2 daughters are doing a cross stitch retreat next week. My muggle friend actually found this cache. TFTC Gflunk

In Gundy to officiate a wedding. Ceremony finished, quick change at hotel and off to find some caches! Quick find when on write track! Tftc
Whilst on our half lap convinced muggle driver to make a few stops here and there to make some finds. Thanks ps late logs sorry
We were pleased to see the nearby picnic table as we pulled up as we were just about ready for lunch. But first to find your cache. Good coords here made for a quick find. All is nice and dry. Replaced and covered cache exactly as we found it. Then we prepared and ate lunch at the nearby table. Thank you.
Our geopup helped in finding this one. So useful as a decoy when he loses his ball in the bushes - which always seems to happen in close proximity to little plastic containers!
Found it after going and seeing all the fantastic sculptures on the way into town. Tftc loved Gundi. On our way to GC from Adelaide to see our daughter.
nice easy find but the coords were off. theres two small tracks and coords take you down the wrong one. cache lid wasnt fully on when I found it. signed the logbook and left some swaps!tftc!
2510 - Heading home from a two and a half week adventure to Uluru, Alice Springs, four different airports to get me to Perth, then across the Nullabor back to Brisbane, I pulled into Goondiwindi to grab an early snack / lunch break. Whilst I was there I worked out the easiest cache to grab whilst I was in town, and decided upon this one, not far from the track I needed to get onto to head home. I was out in the cool breeze and before long I had this cache in my hands doing the logging duties at 10:08am. It was then a long drive home battling road works, heaps of traffic and an accident to welcome me back to the big smoke. Thanks for placing this one here for us to find Gflunk, it was in good condition when I found it.
bunadoorian and I are enroute to Warwick. We had left our overnight accommodation in Coonabarabran. We have driven this road many times but this is the first time I have stopped to pick up caches. This trip I am determined to pick up caches in new LGA's. I found this cache first today. TFTC and for placing a geocache for us all to find - Gflunk..
After a short search the cache was found by Grub62. Thanks for bringing us to this part of Goondiwindi. We had been through before but not seen this area. TFTC.
Picked up a few farmers friends on my directionless path to the cache through the bush. As usual picking the wrong entrance point as I was distracted by the view. Tftc
Gflunk I found your cache Dirt Picnic By The Water on 10/5/2024, 10:25AM. This is my find 6654 and find # 4 today. Found it after a brief search. Thanks for the cache, mate! TNSLLN
Navigation was a bit off, but with some cache knowledge was able to find it, maybe use a stick to clear spiders!
Found it. Thank you to who ever puts them here. Never knew they existed here. Yes I agree coordinates are a little off
Easy to find this cache. Mosquitoes proved to be a challenge. Bring your insect repellent. Did a swap I took out a bear and put in a car. Tftc
It has been a long time since our family has been geocaching, as kids were too little. First one back took a little bit, but a great find.
I have been on holiday since August 18th, staying at QOGM Longreach Now on the way to Melbourne, we stopped in a few places where the weather was great, warm and sunny every day and cold and rainy after we left Melbourne. Here's one to find today.Thank you for placing the cache Gflunk.
#687 ~ Found this one by torch light with Krossbo on a round trip adventure to Tassie. This was our first cache of our holiday and our first cache for 2023
Little bit tricky with the coordinates but after reading logs and seeking a little further, the cache was found safe and sound
After spending the night at a nearby caravan park, we made our way to this cache. A quick find was made and our names added to the log. TFTC
On a road trip and caching holiday with Captainkirky. What a trip this has been, not only finds were good, some of the views were outstanding along my trip. Doing the geotour in Ballarat was awesome, the finds for some of them were very interesting. On this part of our trip we are now heading home, along the way finding caches including this one.
A short walk from the nearby road, and a family of ducks were nearby ??. The area around GZ looks to be well stomped, and the cache was a quick find. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Nice views of the mighty river from this spot! Thanks Gflunk for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.----------This 1.5 week trip, the purpose was the Queensland Outback Geocaching Muster (QOGM) in Longreach, with its aim to encourage tourism and support in rural towns. Departing from Brisbane on Friday 15/09/2023, I travelled solo taking the northern route through Gayndah, Emerald and Jericho on my way to the event, and then returned through Blackall, Morven, St George, Goondiwindi, and Toowoomba arriving back on Monday 25/09/2023.My Longreach highlights included the two QOGM muster/rally days visiting Muttaburra and Isisford; the Qantas Founders Museum; Stockmans Hall of Fame; Silver Tails Rail Sunset Tour; and the general historical town vibe. Other highlights to/from Longreach included climbing Mt Scoria; Barcaldine's Tree of Knowledge and kayaking in the water park; Blackall woolshed scour; and the smaller intriguing and historical towns that I passed through.During my travel days when I was time-poor, I targeted geocaches that were older in age, high D-T, puzzles/challenges, and rare cache types. In addition, I added 7-8 visited LGAs to my statistics. The scenery was memorable with picturesque sunsets, and a diversity of flora and fauna. There were plenty of kangaroos and wallabies, emus, goannas/lizards, brolgas, hawks, and alas wild hogs, and goats.Today, I was homeward bound from Morven to Brisbane, detouring through Mitchell, St George, Goondiwindi, Leyburn, and Toowoomba. It was great to add another couple of visited LGAs to my statistics: Balonne and Goondiwindi Regional. The premise for my initial southerly journey was oldie [Wild & Wonderful West](https://coord.info/GC119TJ), and then onwards to St George and its scenic river, followed by a visit to Beardmore Dam. I continued east to Goondiwindi, and enjoyed the Qld-NSW border town's history and sculptures. Finally, after visiting Leyburn and completing the [Leyburn Historical Tour](https://coord.info/GC809ZM), I headed along Rosenthal-Clifton Road for a few attractive D-T geocaches that included adventurous tree climbs and tree fishing retrievals.Adventure Labs completed: [Sights of Goondiwindi](https://labs.geocaching.com/goto/173f0260-5088-4fac-b0ad-fd7cab4b14c0); and [Inglewood Lions Park](https://labs.geocaching.com/goto/f4c1fbb7-37b4-4b65-a87e-e50a9396d4c2).
Last night Mrs Woodyrothwell and I broke up our drive from Orange to Redcliffe with a night in Goondiwindi. The rest of this log will be a shameless plug for the Country Roads Motor Inn.There are only 2 other buildings next to this motel being a McDonalds and a petrol station and the only two things I need to start the day are coffee and diesel. We were off to a good start but there are two other necessities I couldnt see being a restaurant and a pub.I checked into the hotel and asked if they had a restaurant. I got a very polite yes as an answer. I then asked if they also had cold beers and got a more welcoming shit yeah as a response. With full bellys and a full fridge we settled in to watch the football for the night. We grabbed coffee, fuel and headed straight to GZ before the drive home. tftc
Found in obvious location (followed the geotrail) even though it was 10 m from where the satellites were sending me TFTC
Our first Queensland find! Nice location. Thanks for placing this here for us to find.
A lovely spot by the river. There was a fence recently erected around GZ, but it was half down so we had access.
Travelling from Bogabilla to Gladstone as part of our 'north for warmer weather' trip (North East Vic to Central Qld).
Thanks to all COs who have provided caches along the way.

Both my Geodog Scruffy and myself were itching to get out and find a few caches, so with the weather looking pleasant, we headed off
All Good .. TFTC ..

#780! The GPS was a little off but when you look around there are some obvious places to explore! Great hide TFTC! MR_PaNic!
Found with Kingclan. Nice quick find. Was a bit messed up + waterlogged. Gave it a good clean/dry/refresh + added some trinkets for kiddies
A trip to Perth checking out some of the awesome places along the way in ACT, NSW, outback Qld and NT. Grabbing some old caches and missing LGAs. TFTC.
Only two caches in town and there is a cricket match at the other. I was born by something at this one.

Nice quick park and grab here today, thanks for placing and maintaining this hide for us and others to enjoy!
Okay, so today is day 1 of a road trip. Heading to Tasmania for a family holiday. Cache 1 for the trip - in a LGA that I thought I had collected before - but the map says no.
Got in close to GZ and cache with a stick, making sure none of those "wriggly sticks" are about.
Cache is in good order, and now as my signature in it. Thanks to the Cache Owner for placing tis!

A cache in Goondiwindi proper. Surprised by how well off the town looks. A Main Street without the country town usual boarded up shops and well maintained gardens everywhere.
Glad we stopped
Thank you for hiding

Found after a meal at the Victoria, nice area. Disturbed a well camoed lizard while searching.
This was a quick and easy find. This was the last cache required to clean Goondiwindi out of all its caches. Lol. TFTC
Quick and easy find. I have now Cached out all of Goondiwindi of its two caches. Trackable dropped off.
On a road trip from Adelaide with my muggle mate. We have cycling friends having a joint 60th in Noosa, then we are off to Hervey Bay to see some family and the return home……who knows which route we’ll take, if I place a log for your cache, you’ll have a vague idea of which way we have taken
