A quick find this time around after a DNF on the wrong trail. I got on the right one this time around. TFTC and happy international geocaching day
A beautiful spot with an awesome view . My app took me right upto the fence , so had to backtrack a little . Then found it quite quickly . A lovely part of Ferntree Gully for a walk TFTC
Found at 10:37A nice quick find once I find a way into gzThanks ahomburg for the cache
Walked past this one then realised I didn't have to go all the way up the hill tftf
Was unsure as I'm new to geocaching how far off the track it could be, was bush bashing for a good 30 mins but stopped when I saw a small snake
What a glorious day it promised to be... maybe a touch too warm for an ideal caching day but far too good to stay inside. With many caches calling, I decided to venture over to the *City of Knox*... I only had 12 more caches to find to qualify for ** 100 Finds in the Knox LGA Challenge **... and today was going to be the day!Having found six caches before lunch, I was at my halfway point for the day when I started up hunting again... and stopping for this cache on my way back from **Perigrine 1** took me to my "three-quarters way" point for the day. All downhill from here as it were... especially getting back to my car! Thanks **ahomburg** for putting this cache out...
Just out for a quick morning walk to get the heart pumping.A wee detour from the track revealed this simply hidden cache. Simple but does the job of bringing people to a nice area many would not otherwise discover. TFTC
With our cache route semi planned Snip and Co and I made a B line for this cache. The cache was soon found with some slight confusion over the clue. Quote from Snips and Co "That's not a rock that's a pebble." So the remainder of the day had us looking at the clues with extremely loose interpretation.
Although my ahomburg rock size understanding was diminishing, the sun was shining and there was a rock. And Tiz13 spotted the rock. Life is good. Thanks ahomburg
Thanks for the cache Ahomburg,
I am in the area due to professional curiosity. You see I have been fabricating components for a handrail for "Ferntree Gully Lookout". At first I thought that the One Tree Hill Lookout was being replaced. A quick check on the internet suggested the FTG Quarry. Sure enough at the top of the knol nearby, there is some construction going on with a great view of the city. That curiosity satisfied I thought I'd have another go at this Cache. The GPS gods were kind and landed me right on target.

Great little find - stop 2 on Esther and Matt are bored, let’s go geocaching!
This is such a hilly area, and I was running out of steam. Fortunately the cache was found speedily.
Coordinates are either off or there's spotty reception. A fun find. Needs new small pen for signing logbook if anyone has one to pop in there. Thank you for the beautiful location.
Bit of ducking and diving to get in, not for big blokes like me but got there in the end. TFTC
Was worried I was going to be on wrong side of the fence. Fortunately it was fine. Xmas day caching. Thanks
The coords for this one seemed a bit off but using some brains we found it pretty quickly. TFTC
GPS all over the place, like the tracks before me?
Stuck with it and got the cache in the end!
Thank you

Well..if it’s called ‘Peregrine’ I wonder why since no signs of falcons here. Maybe etymology has a clue but it’s a stretch. “from Old French faulcon pelerin (mid-13c.), from Medieval Latin falco peregrinus, from Latin peregrinus "coming from foreign parts," so who knows. Maybe in the days of the quarry falcons were spied. Either way cache located although I came from above through a hole in the fence. Also found some discarded old telegraph line debris or relics. TFTC and the FUN!
Out with echidna44 caching in the Ferntree Gully area. A short walk up a steep hill had us at cache. A quick find. Thanks ahomburg.
Out with pinnacle333, we were caching in the Ferntree Gully area.
A short walk uphill soon had us near GZ for a quick find. Thanks ahomburg.

Newbies here and this is our second find in two days. Such a fun activity. We are certainly hooked and this spot is amazing with beautiful views.
First geocache we've ever done, and finding the cache is such a unique dopamine hit, it's like scavenging In an open world game but it's our world. I live in upper Ferntree gully, and have explored this suburb so much but have never been here before.
This has been an awesome experience, was relatively easy as well for newbies like me and I look forward to doing more!

Having grabbed the other one of these nearby a little while ago, I decided to grab the second one.
Three it in the GPS and started driving to the road nearby. Turns out that the cache is on the other side of a fence though.
As I was about to walk back to the car I noticed that someone has actually gone out of their way and cut a hole in the fence and I was able to go through and soon had the cache in hand.

Bit of bushbashing but pretty easy find, thanks for the cache and the location, surreal view
My gps was being annoying and not settling which was embarrassing since my friends were being very patient while they waited for me to jump into the bush. Also my lack of a pen meant I had to borrow one. Rookie! Anyhoo, eventually I found where I needed to be and signed the log.
Difficult terrain. Didn't realise there was a path on opposite side if area. Daughter found it in the end. Will come back and sign Log another time. No own in cache or on us..
Hardest one I've done yet with the terrain, take the path at the start of the hill on butler's drive, trying to get to it on the road angle is very hard, lol pretty much had to absail down the hill be careful of barbed wire if you go this way tftc!
Thanks! This was tricky and took us a few attempts from various angles. But we had fun
Took a while but I found it ok. Make sure to get on the right track and don’t go to far in. Tftc.
Managed to find this in my designated outdoor exercise time, whilst babywearing my toddler - found it just as I was ready to give up - such a thrill to have a find after searching for a while! Thanks for the cache.
Yay, we found it! Glad it was do bright as I wasn't sure we were in the right place.
Don’t make our mistake and park on the public road, as you can’t cut through the fence too well.
But we got there in the end

Dropped our daughter off nearby, and took the opportunity to find some caches.
A brisk walk on a crisp morning to find this one. As previous logs had suggested not venturing too far off the track, initially I didn't venture far enough. Soon located it though.

Went way too far into the trees and almost gave up, then spotted it on the way out! TFTC
A cache I had previously tried and failed to find, so I was keen to have another go after seeing some photos that gave me a better idea what I was looking for. This time, the cache was found almost immediately - it seems I was too far "in" on my previous attempt. Log signed and an out-of-date, "contraband" (don't put food in caches!) nano-sized TicTacs box removed, cache rehidden and we took an alternate route back along the nearby roads to Himalaya Track to head home. TFTC - glad to finally get this one off my to-do list. 7+km of hill walking makes me think that a future 10km loop on the flat is easily do-able (albeit probably rather boring)!
We also found your second hide today.
I have been on the wrong side of the fence for this hide quite a few times in the last few years but today after gathering clues for the rejigged multi near by we strode right up to GZ.
All is well here too.

Finding the path to GZ was a bit of a challenge; afterwards, the cache itself was straightforward. Thank you!
Continuing down the hill from picking up Perigrine 1, we were hoping for a quick find here as Crusty was waiting for us in the car park. It wasn’t to be and as it was now getting dark, we were getting stressed. Steve eventually found the cache, signed and replaced as found, so we could now relax and take in the magnificent views on our return.
Thanks ahomburg.
Thanks ahomburg.
Thanks so much. It was fun. I was way of track. Lucky my friend Liz suggested to try over yonder and we found it. I didn’t have a pen with me to write in log book. Thanks again
There's a hole in the fence that can be entered through to get to here, with a bit of exploration in the area involved. Also little spot
We found knew where it was but it was in a big bunch of bushes so we didn’t go in
Difficult find! Got there after an hour or so. Cannot be accessed from lady walk rd, come up from the quarry path instead!
