As there has been either no response from the cache owner, no cache to find or log to sign, or it has been a number of months since the last owner note I am archiving this cache to keep from continually showing up in search lists and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements.

If you wish to repair/replace/make available the cache sometime in the near future (next 30 days), just contact a reviewer (by email), and assuming it meets the current guidelines, the reviewer will be happy to unarchive it.

Should you replace the cache after 30 days has passed please create a new cache listing so it can be reviewed as a new cache.

Will need to check out - fix or completely remove. Cheers!

Attempted this and bit back as per the last log, I had the same experience. No crickets chirping back to me.

29-Feb-12
Paddled out and found the "chirping device" easily, but no chirps. Waited for a bit, but still no chirps. The back appears not to be on properly and it appears that maybe the battery is flat???

Unfortunatly, couldn't finish this cache so will keep an eye on this one to see when this one is back chirping again.

After getting the co-ords at the event and then not using them, I decided that today was perfect weather to paddle out again. Starting with a launch at rush cutter bar with Budgie (my daughter) in her kayak me in mine and a dog in each. The dogs enjoyed being out with us but not so keen on the confines of kayaking.

the chirp went well on my Oregon and off to the next point where the cache was found - uh ho no pen so took pics which I have up loaded.

It actually took some communication with the CO and an intimate position between my GPS and the chirp to get it to give up the goods, but I got there in the end. After collection the spinnakeri sland cache and the GCA cache I returned the kayak and took the path of the previous finder and waded to the cache. Well, I am 6' 5" and the water came up to my chin! I am glad I had the foresight to put my pen and keys in double bags and under my hat. Furry_Dog had the GPS and was on my shoulders so all was well. He explored the island while I made the find.

Thanks Rob.

A somewhat dodgy day weatherwise meant a later start than anticipated for our assault on Springbank island and this cache. After having scouted the likely input points a decision was made and the inaugural floating of the 'Crimson Plastic Fantastic'. Despite many concerns to the contrary, the inflation of the boat was a simple enough activity and the subsequent paddling across to the island proceeded with only minor deviations.

A quick circuit and the GZ coords were soon at hand so it was back to the launch zone for a drive to near GZ.

At GZ, it was decided that the pain of re-inflating the canoe (not to mention the muggles in very close proximity) was not necessary for the quick wade\swim and so, with the water not freezing, a quick joruney to GZ was made. Luckily, the cache was spotted soon after and quickly signed.

All in all, it was a nice day for a paddle, and thanks Rob, for a fun cache and the swim....

Had got the coordinates at the event cache but hadn't paddled out to get it yet. So H and R went out today and collected.

Found after the great flottila event. Thanks to help from others for the coords

Got the co-ords from the Chirp while on the ACT kayaking/caching event, but couldn't get back to GZ. Despite being told it was "wadeable" - I wasn't equipped, and there were heaps of muggles around.

Went to the island for the event like everyone else and picked up the chirp on the oregon.
Spent too long taking video and by the time we caught up with the group at the second island, completely missed the fact that any one had continued on. ;-( (we would have)
That's ok we had fun paddling back with the main group and getting another GCA on the bridge.
After we have dropped off one of the boats the Samwalkers and all the GUIOs decided to go and pick up the cache.
Phil assured me we could walk to the cache!
We found out we couldn't (LOL at Phil) and after walking back to the car for the smaller boats we piled 3 on one and 2 on the other and amazingly didn't sink them on the way to the island. Good fun.
Found the cache to finish what must be my first puzzle cache in a very long time.

I will say thanks for the cache rbirtles with a slight sadness. I had scouted out both the GZ of the chirp and the final location of the cache for two of my own caches. Having said that it was 6 months ago so obviously too lazy to do it and glad someone did.
I now have to go off and find another hidy hole for a cache. Wink
Cheers.

I think too many devises were vying for the chirps attention and it was only giving 25% to each of us, so a kind soul, (can't remember who it was) wirelessly sent it to me.
After the event ended and all parted ways, Dad & I found the right peninsular and completed the cache with a slow green craft we stole off someone for a time. Wink
Thanx for a nice concept and a cool cache!

5195. [font=Century Gothic][green]That's a low act Rob. Luckily it was a great day to paddle and some top company made it a pleasure to head out on a 3 hour cruise. The minnows and her fearless crews made good time to GZ and it was really very peaceful on the lake (once we left behind the Alfred Hitchcock scenes at Spinnaker Island). Did John make it back alive? Took a while to find as we were looking for a small (must have shrunk in the rain?). Batgirl made the find and then it was back to the bridge for another rbirtles cache.

Found before the event today. Ja had found the chrip the day before so was easy for me. A powerboat drive up to the gz. At gz we tried looking for a small at first then I spotted the micro TFTC

Found whilst attending the Kayaking event! Got the 'chirp' and then, later, paddled to the GZ! Nice easy find (There was a cache here many years ago). Thanks rbirtles - great cache!

Having grabbed the chirp yesterday Ju, mr_roo and I headed to GZ today on our way to the Event. After looking for a little while mr_roo spotted it for a second to find. TFTC rbirtles.

Woohoo!! My first chirp cache!!
(mainly because my etrex would clearly have issues with this hahahaha!)

Slightly confused why this is listed as a small..it's not! Sad
Also did get slightly conserned that we would have to find another load of crickets chirping, but...thankfully we didnt!

Now, for a nice paddle back to shore!

31-Dec-11
I found the WP1 along with a whole mess of people at the Event, but as my ride was heading off I had to complete the final GZ by my self and as it wasn't too far from shore I made the short swim holding my GPS and keys above my head and only had to swim a short way then spotted it after a short search.
note container is a Micro for future finders.
A great little cache thanks for the opportunity to find this .

Found during the Canoe caching event. I was in the canoe with Batgirl and my Geowife. We tagged along as some high tech equipped caches decoded the beeps and headed to the GZ. With about 7 searchers it was found before too long. TFTC

A magnificent morning paddling around with Mr Winglen, McPhan and many others. We were amongst the few that decided to go on to this one, and we were very glad we did (although there may be some muscles tomorrow that got some unaccustomed use!) A really fun idea, thanks rbirtles.

Found during the Lake Burley Griffin Canoe Caching event. Snagged the co-ords from Tankengine whilst on Springbank Island as my gps is not chirp enabled. Although it could be more likely that the user isn't. This was a bit further than I think the crew had intended to paddle but after the seating rearrangement we were making good time so off we toddled. A perfect day for being on the water and good company as well. Can't ask for more really. A great way to round of 2011.

A combination of power boating during the event, walking and a very short bit of paddling on a slow canoe, I managed to find & sign this log personally. Thanks rbirtles and others who helped me for the day.

30-Dec-11
Agh!! My apologies - this is the first (and most likely last) micro I will ever place so deep inside the recesses of my mind it must have been telling me that I should have set a small cache.

All we want for Christmas is an FTF? This was our first attempt at kayaking together, after some communication issues we got to WP1, where we did a detour to grab a nearby cache. Onwards to GZ where Mr Stormcatcher made the find to reveal an empty log Woohoo *FTF* at 11:53am. Thanks rbirtles for the cache and the massive paddle.

According to the internet (so you know it's true) New Zealand banned twins from being called this.

Distance from original: 125.4 feet or 38.2 meters.

Co-ordinates updated.

Everything now good to go - Montana GPS units seem to take much longer to listen and to decipher the crickets chirping.

20-Dec-11
Not yet ready! Sorry everyone - this one has yet to be fully completed as I was really needing to get certain co-ords examined and authorised first. Now the cat is out of the bag...

I thought wading sounded like a good idea - but in the end over loading the kayaks sounded like a better one.
It is amazing how much they can take.

Afterwards Miss GUIO seemed to enjoy being allowed to solo in one of our boats. I think she needs a paddle of her own.

When we were at WP 1 it was interesting to see that the older Colarados seemed to have no problem hearing the chirp but the Montanas had to listen hard.

Thanks for our first techno cache
