Out with Barbbowman who had previously found this cache and with both of us seaching, this one eluded us today
Attempted on Sat 2 Feb. Too many muggles, seems very exposed. Although I did not sight it, I suspected the right location but did not want to give away. Will be back.
Didn't even get to attempt this one. We drove into the car park, but were faced with a mob of railway workers standing right at GZ, so we drove away again. It appears a few of the Ferny Grove line stations are out of action at the moment with a lot of work being done.
Was here the other night with geoson, but it was peak time with trains going back and forth so we didn't get much of a chance to look around and decided to leave it until another time.
Went back this afternoon with brownsnakemob and geoson, and after a bit of looking around found it quite easily. The co-ords were about 8m for us too.
Thanks for the cache Amethyst Cat.

called in to see if we could find this one with fellow geocaches, found with help from previous logs:) TFTC Amethyst Cat
Tftc, found it after a couple of tries. Found with cacher friends, well she found it
Finally I've got this one off my list!!!! This has been my nemesis cache for a long time and I think I've visited this spot 6 times. Had to call in some hints to get it. TFTC, Amethyst_Cat.
Net88 and I didn't have too much trouble finding this cache after we widened our search area.

Out caching with Nyssa Flutterby. Our coords were very out today and we were quite determined that the cache was actually a small white car. I was about to sign the log when we read the hint. After a bit of looking around looking very suss Nyssa finally found it!!! Thanks for the cache
found this today with pgriff.....very interesting cache today
we found the cache pretty quickly...after the retrieval and signing of the log (which couldn't have taken longer than 5mins) we were approaching by some translink officials. They questioned what we were doing and we simply replied geocaching...they were intrigued and took down a few notes, so we might have just converted some more people over to geocaching.
on to the cache:
it was lying on the ground amongst rubbish as the hedges were freshly trimmed. this was lucky to not be thrown out, but we have since re-hidden it.

Well, looks like we finally found it. I can honestly say as of tonight, this is now my least favourite style of hide.
We'd been here several times before, and become quite frustrated as we had been unable to find the cache at the published coordinates. I'd actually attempted alone at least twice, while waiting for my favourite yarn store to open.
As EngPhil mentioned, we resorted to PAF which I'm not sure we've ever done before tonight, and finally got the goods. Also as he mentioned, it was a good ~8m or so out from where our GPS had us looking originally.
TFTC, and nice to get this one off the DNF list.

This was (notice past tense) one of our nemisis caches. I won't tell you how many times we have tried to find this one without success. Today we pulled up nearby walked to the area and had it in our hands within a few minutes. Go figue. Maybe the planets were aligned or we left our cache blindness glasses in the car Whatever the reason we are just very glad this one is now a smiley for us. Cache in good condition. TFTC and the past frustration. It does make one appreciate the find just that much more
Find #722 at 19:47.
Ah, nemesis cache, your frowny face will taunt me no longer.
I admit, on our third or fourth visit, we had to go the PAF option. And it's not often that I do that.
As I was standing near the indicated spot talking on the phone, Palopinto reached and found the cache. The GPS still said ~8m away, as it pretty much had for us each time we tried. With a hide like this, and coords that far out, I'm not surprised we (and others) have trouble with this one. TFTC, Amethyst_Cat.

Yay .. 2nd time lucky for this one . We gabbed lunch from a nearby (un)healthfood drive-through, and proceeded to chance our luck at finding a park at the station . We really couldn't believe our luck when we spotted a lonely parking spot only 4m from GZ
We ate our lunch while looking around at potential hiding spots. As soon as i had finished, i was out of the car and hunting in an area that i thought it had to be. Janine hadn't even got out of the car, when i spotted the well hidden beasty . No wonder we never found it last time … we didn't even look here
Co-ords seemed to be 5-6m out according to our Oregon, but i guess the hint should steer you in the right direction . Thanks Amethyst Cat … it'll be good to drive past this one in future and not curse you any more

Retrieved crumbling 'Dead Sea Scroll' log and replaced with fresh, pink 'Post It' note log. Yes, the cache is still there. Slightly battered but in good condition otherwise.
Thanks I had fun finding this cache

After 2 attempts we have found this cache. Only took 2 attempt, 4 trains, 2 muggles and about 6 "ouch's".

Disappointed! Couldn't find it at Ferny Grove and can't see it here! Will need to think about it. TFTC anyway.
Back today with a new attitude and tip from previous finder. Well I found where it should be, but its not. Lets see if it had dropped. Sure enough there it is under leaf litter. Log has seen better days. Attached container as best it could to where it should be. Will log a NM with owner. TFTH
Last of a triad with The Chumpywaller. Found it easily after considering AC's clue. Agree with fasted59 - log needs replacing (nothing on me this morning). Not sure could fit anymore logs now. Covered up what clearly looked like some egresses near GZ to give it a decent hide. TFTC
found a part of cache
now to dig through all the leaf litter and rubbish to find the actual container

Out and about in the area this afternoon to try to improve the number of Amethyst_Cat caches we have found. This was the second one we failed to find even though we looked in what we thought were the logical spots. We will be back sometime in the future. Thanks for the hide.
I have finally found this one. After many long searches and looking in the hiding spot several times I finally spotted it.
Yes the log is in pretty poor shape.

The log book is fairly damaged in this cache. It needs a replacement, and maybe a zip lock bag to encase the log. Sorry, that we had no replacements.

It took us while to find this one, but with no muggles around, we were able to take some time. An interesting hide method.

No luck I don't think I was on the same wave length today, I missed a few of these in the series.
Kaisho53 and I were in full hunt and I had just spotted and extracted the container when a Train pulled up... Good timing right... [^]
I signed the log for both and Kaisho53 took to checking out the timetable and avoid any unnecessary attention by the passengers and more importantly, the whistle blower...
Business done, the cache was tucked away and we were outta there. Kinda hoping the activity is not in direct vision of the nearby camera...
Cheers Amethyst Cat.

Parking on roadside we wandered across parking area...
Hoping no one on security camera detail was taking too much notice on Sunday we started our search...
Again Gunnie69 soon had cache to hand..

I saw another cacher at the BIG M down the road while having a coffee. No hints were exchanged but i was able to see the cache in a ride by so I hope she can find it OK.
Yup, I'm entirely unsurprised that it's still there. I think Amethyst Cat caches are just invisible to me. I must say I don't really enjoy searching right in front of security cameras. However, I suspect I'll be back.
To those who can't find this cache it is still there. Try looking a little harder.
The log is a bit worse for wear but still able to be written on.
I will replace it next time I visit.

Well, I guess I'll have to add myself to the growing list of DNFs on this one. We (EngPhil and I) had a really good poke around while on a night raid, but it looks like there has been some recent garden maintenance which may cause some issues.
took knitting friend, we both had a good look
hedges have had a harsh pruning, may need a check

We had a pretty good look around on a quiet sunday arvo, but no joy today. Maybe next time, thanks Amethyst Cat
On the bike for another delightful tour of the west this morning
I wasn't paying much attention to where I was.
The GPS was guiding me between caches
But arriving at GZ deep seated memories of a previous DNF came flooding back [:o]
Seems I am not alone
But for some reason, this time around, the clue made sense, the GPS said "here" and I just stuck me paw out and grabbed hold of the cache without even getting off the pushie
I guess the satellites had aligned just right [^]
Dunno why this cache is causing so much grief !!
But I can say that now that I have found it
Ha, ha, ha, ha

We had a look for this one after an unsuccessful search for the nearby K8 in Wonderland, but didn't bring the co-ords with me, just tried looking where I thought the map on the listing was pointing. I think it does seem a bit of a worry to look for this without looking dodgy, being by/in/around a train station. Might try again sometime though, actually using the GPS!
I didn't feel comfortable under the beam of the cameras.
I searched where I could but nothing came to light.
The hint was of no use. I thought the aim of hiding caches was to hide to from muggles but make it accessible to cachers. This was no fun for me.

I log my DNFs ruzzelz! Just haven't been back since it's been replaced until someone else found it ;P. Thanks for being the guinea pig
After many months and many looks back in January I found myself back in the area again this morning. As is usual at this place the GPS was of no assistance taking me 10 m from GZ.
I have cursed the cache hider so many times at this an another cache site but in the back of my mind I always knew eventually I would have to acknowledge it was simply my poor caching skill . Now for the other seven cachers lurking with this one on your watch list, time to fess up - how many times have you been at this spot? No clues from ruzzelz you will need to find this your self
Thanks Amethyst Cat and apologies for all those names I have called you while waiting for trains to come and go from this place. [^] So So glad to have this one off my DNF list

We gave up at 15:33. We are missing something as the new clue doesn't seem to relate to the coords as we found them.
Perhaps this needs an owner check and an update of the hint/difficulty rating as it is proving so hard to find?
Given the lack of DNFs recently I'll check to see the cache is intact as soon as practicable.
Until then am taking it offline.

I cycled across to Grovely and found the cache perfectly intact where it was first placed. I've updated the clue to assist with the find.
I checked this one out after work. I looked where I originally found it but didn't see anything. I am assuming it is in the same area.
DNF for us today. Searched for about 30 minutes in all the usual places but no cache for us.
Decided to lurk around here for a little longer to make a perfect 4 out of 4 DNF's for the morning. Another nemesis cache for my list
Apparently I have never found a cache on New Year’s Day . Apparently it might remain that way I did however manage to get stung by wasps. [:(!]

I had a close inspection and this cache has definitely vanished - probably under the pile of soil, leaves and muck accumulated when they cut down the trees.
Next week I will re-set the cache very close to the current coordinates.

Had a good look down, up, around, mmm nah "no hint" why? due to busy area? anyway DNF for me. Thanks.
Despite confirmation I was looking in the right spot from a previous finder, I couldn't find this one. Highly suspicious that it is no longer where it should be - especially given Everlasting's DNF from today also. Owner check please?
It's not there. qld rail have cut the trees down and cleaned out the gardens.I looked and the spot the cache was has been cleared out. cache may be in a pile of garden debris near site but I was in my proper flash work attire with newly manicured nails...

I decided to tackle this one after work. Thankfully the area was devoid of muggles and it made the search a little easier. Had to check twice - but I got the beast from its hidey hole. The cache is in good condition. TFTC Amethyst Cat
Pouring rain....had the place to myself.
Nice easy find. Cache dry and in good condition

I was glad it was raining as the umbrella helped to shield me from the security camera. A quick find now that the coords are accurate.
found with La Kedi and DisSister on this showery afternoon. Wonder if somebody's going to get sprung here one day?
I'm glad this was changed to a proper traditional, as trying to find something under the eagle eye of the security cameras makes me nervous at the best of times. Went down today in the company of DisSister and The Marble to see whether we could find it, and we were actually happy for the rain as the umbrellas served to shield us from those cameras! Found it after a while, cleaned it up a bit, and replaced as found. TFTC. ='.'=

This wasn't in the description when I reviewed this cache:
"NOTE. The coordinates here are not intended to be spot-on accurate. If I'd intended this to be an incredibly easy cache I would include the exact coordinates. Please do not post precise coordinates."
This cache isn't a traditional - the guidelines state "The coordinates listed on the traditional cache page are the exact location of the cache"

OK, I see now, the co-ordinates are in the general area... and the difficutly is searching a 10m radius (+ more for GPS inaccuracies) for the cache...
Well search I did and was a bit worried with all the potential hiding spots... was thinking this may have been a lot more
devious than it was... so was glad when I eventually found it.
Retrieving the cache was also a bit tricky, and I replaced it just the way I found it for the next finder.
Thanks Amethyst_Cat

Even with the pushbike and a can of fizzy thinking cola I could only hang around here in view of the security cameras for so long
Without a definite GZ to look for, the prospect of finding this cache only got less likely after half an hour of looking around for anything that might give away the hiding place.
At least this cache didn't appear to be hidden in a commuter carpark, so I could loiter for quite a while
Alas no cache find today
I didn't get arrested and live to cache another day
PS: Thanks for the update agap2 [^]

Another close to home cache, Yah!, within a minute or 2 I was out of the house and I was at GZ within 5min.
When I arrived at GZ, I finally read the cache note, within 10m? I do really think that a cache in an area with such a high muggle presence and a security cameras should be as accurate as possible.
After looking around I spotted something that may have a cache, as yes I found it, and I was *FTF*
A minute or 2 later I spotted some other people hanging around GZ, and correctly assumed they were cachers, it was very nice to meet Ferrarista, rendam and co , always great to catch up with other cachers in the "wild"

We were studying for an audit exam, when we received an update stating that there was a new cache within 3km's of our local area - the perfect excuse for procrastination!!
We were hoping that we would be FTF however as we arrived totalube had snapped this one up! All credit to totalube as this is not an easy find (provided that the cache is within 10m of the coordinates).
