11-Jan-14
Taken home for maintenance.

22-Dec-13
Dropped off TB's 'Travelling GB' for destination P51000, and 'Clean and Green' for random international travel.
Cache was water logged and in need of repair, burkerogers performed some maintenance.

22-Dec-13
Visited the stargate with some friends to drop of some travel bugs.
Found quickly, but cache was in a bit of a state. Contained replaced, logbook dried out with a hair-dryer...
Three travel-bugs placed for stargate travel Thank you arlorggen for the cache.

17-Oct-13
Obtained coordinates for GZ but search was fruitless. Will return with the rest of the mob.

15-Oct-13
Never trust the internet. Had to get a second opinion on the co-ordinates. TNLNSL. TFTH! !

22-Sep-13
Arrived very early at gz to meet with iluvtrekking when a massive hail storm hit and we were wondering whether to abort visit to the Stargate. Sat it out in the safety of the geo-vehicles and when the skies cleared Mr iluvtrekking and richlink decided to proceed with the mission. They returned 15 minutes later having had to wade through knee deep water across the track access but satisfied that the mission was completed.
Took: TB

22-Sep-13
The skies were threatening a recurrence of a recent hail/rain deluge so the girls bravely sat in the car with the dogs while Mr richlink & Mr iluvtrekking ventured into the flooded bushland in the quest for yet another smiley. Thanks the cache arlorggen.

03-Aug-13
Picked up trackable requiring use of the stargate and left 2 trackables for local travel.

02-Aug-13
We picked up a TB at the event in Busselton last weekend that needs to go to the US so though I would try the Stargate system - see details below
Found the WP OK and got the co-ords for the final but took a long time to find the final - as I spent too much time looking in the obvious place rather than the correct place Sad eventually found the cache and signed the log and dropped in the trackable and a path tag.

The trackable is 2012 TRFTHOI (BLUE) and wants to get back to the US and be logged there by the 13th August. Not sure if the Stargate system can accomplish this but we will give it a try.
I have selected it to go to Stargate P4079 in Pittsburgh as I think this will maximise the distance travelled. Hope it reaches its destination in time. Have put a card in its bag with this request.

Thanks for the cache and for being part of the Stargate system arlorggen [^]

13-May-13

Welcome to Western Australia 'Campbell Kid's Geocoin', 'Lets Go Tower Caching' and 'Wombling Free'.

30-Jan-13
The muggled cache has been found a long way from where it should be and on going through it at home the trackables are all there. These will be returned to the replacement cache on 31 Jan with some recently received geocoins.

15-Jan-13
Out for a few quick caches this afternoon, and I found that my glasses were fogging up every time I stepped out of the car this afternoon!

I was tossing up whether to try this one or not. After failing to find this one last time I was here, but seeing a couple of recent found logs I decided to have a go at it.

At GZ I steeled myself for a long search, but ended up finding it in the first place I looked, right on coords. I was wondering how I could have possibly missed that last time, but when I looked at the log book I realised that the finders before me were the first ones in the book.

No travel bugs in the cache unfortunately, I guess they were muggled with the last container. Thanks for replacing it arlorggen!

05-Jan-13
Found with chesty1984. TFTC. Little hard to find. Bit disappointed no bugs to be found in cache.

05-Jan-13
Good hard find, no bugs though. TFTC

DNF @ 14:10...

DNF #4 while en route to the International Airport to pick up a friend!

Only submitting this as a Note because as soon as I arrived at WP1, I got a text saying my friend had arrived at the airport and wanted collecting!

After passing the biggest cobweb I have ever seen earlier, I had a quick look around the log and found a metal tag hanging from a branch, but this did not seem to be the one I was looking for...

I've been wanting to visit this cache since I discovered it a month or so ago, so I will be back!

07-Dec-12
I've been here before for another cache. I found the waypoint without trouble, but I must have spent over half an hour looking for the final cache and couldn't find it.

I looked under every bush, shrub, log, grasstree, tree and anything else, but couldn't find the box. I hope the Friend of Brixton St Wetlands haven't 'cleaned it up' again...

Many thanks.

07-Jun-12
After taking a short detour to drop off the "Journey of Discovery" TB to its home cache, I found the waypoint easily. But amidst the frogs, soggy tracks and spiders, whilst dressed in shoes, shirt and tie, and standing at what very much appeared to be GZ, I struck out...after 20 minutes, with the weather darkening, I gave up. I WILL drop the TB one day (or pass onto a veteran cacher to succeed where I failed).

Retrieving trackables for travel through Stargate network.

Also retrieved the Frog "Felix" to move to a new place near water.

05-May-12
Visiting again to give some more TBs a chance to explore further afield.

21-Apr-12
Found the way point, but finding the Stargate was tricky. This was because google maps was trying to convince us to play on Roe Hwy. Finally stopped listening to google and referred to the coordinates on the Geocache app for an easy find in the wetlands.

21-Apr-12
Ok, google maps really, really sucks for coordinates. TN, left spoon. TFTC.

04-Apr-12
While in the area I decided to scout this one out with AmstradKid and Jazl the Wonder dog. We followed the GPS'r to the 1st WP, AK had found this before so I was left to find it. This took me a little while(note to self, read the cache page better). Armed with the new co-ords off we went, after a little walk we arrived at GZ and I started the search for the cache. It took me a while as the GZ was about 4-5 metres out and my eyesight was a little off today. Finally found the cache and set about logging the find and TB/GC transactions. I have always been a fan of Stargate so this was cool, I will have to use this in the future! Cool

I will move these to the TB Motel in Coogee

OUT:

Well, what a nice way to finish off a great month of caching. Found this one at dusk after a stroll through a piece of bushland that strangely enough I visited earlier in the month chasing a "frog" and didn't realise this was here too.
This cache brought my tally to 105 found this month, 1 event attended, 1 event organised, a start to the world of Munzee and less than 10 DNF's......wooohhooo.
Thanks for the cache arloggen i'm sure I will come back here in possession of a TB or 2.
Cheers Gradem

29-Jan-12
Tftc! Enjoyable walk through the wetlands

16-Oct-11
We went to drop off our TB's for travel but unfortunately Stargate was nowhere to be seen. Our GZ seemed to be spot on, but after nearly half an hour and some very itchy children we admitted defeat. But will return again very soon.Though the walk was great though would recommend some wellies at the moment. We had many wildlife sightings including many frogs and a rather large red headed bobtail Smile

31-Aug-11
The walk through the reserve was easy, took different paths to avoid the water and muggles. Could not find the cache at GZ so widened the search and found container in the open. Not able to locate the original spot so placed under some cover.

Thanks arlorggen, it may pay to check cache placement.

03-Aug-11
Was going to pick up trackable Wichtel Gate but its not there.

11-Jul-11
Tean chickenrice. So tricky at night. In the wet in the cold. Cammo box!

28-Jun-11
The Wetlands certainly is living up to its name at the moment... the main track in is now a river. The frogs are certainly enjoying themselves - they are quite deafening. Managed to wade my way in, getting thoroughly saturated by the encroaching shrubbery as well as overhead drizzle and underfoot rivers, with some GCs in tow, in the hopes of finding a home somewhat larger than a nano. But bombed out again.
Found a better route out on way back to car, take narrow track about 80m further SW from designated parking spot instead of main track that is straight in at right angles to road.

17-Jun-11
Wheer is a Stargate when you need one? All we had was our wet feet to wade into the cache today. We searched for a while, but no cache did we find.
Thanks, Robmc.

Also a word of warning, I have found some drug related items on the track into the waypoint and cache, there were no visible needles around, but there was the packaging for them around, I may have scared them off when I arrived as the items looked very recent, so please watch yourselves and wear proper footwear as a precaution.

Its also living up to its name of quenda wetlands with our recent rains, so you may have to find an alternate route to the waypoint and cache if it gets to much worse, as of tonight it is sqelchy but still passable.

Deja vu - we have been here before. This is a lovely area and we enjoyed our short walk in to the cache. We dropped the Unite for Diabetes TB in the local travels bag. Thanks for the hunt arlorggen & zigolphin.

The dogs and I went to find this cache. No problems find WP1 but WP2 was well hidden. I left 2 trackables for international travel to any location. Maybe ask the owners where they would like there trackables teleported to.

Who would have thought there would be a wetland reserve here. Are there really Quendas here? We saw spiders and grasshoppers only. Must be much better in the rainy season. Thanks for bringing us here.

My first Stargate. Great hide. Dropped duck GC for local travel to see how this all works. Later edit: Since this is my first Stargate I didn't realise you have to leave destination Stargate address with trackable so if possible send this Flying ducky to Stargate P51114 and see some snow! I will try and put destination with GC physically.

After logging a DNF when it could have been a FTF I returned to WP1 and couldn't believe I missed it even in the early morning light. I should have known better! Then at GZ I looked under every possible place and then thinking what duncdonut73 had said that it was almost under his feet, it was the same for me, I was looking at it but couldn't see it. Sometimes we think things are more difficult than they really are! Took 3 TB's and left 2 of my personel TB's to be transported to the UK and Hawaii. TFTC and the area.

12-Nov-10
Hmmmmm !!!! Will try again after reading the logs.

11-Nov-10
Well WP 1 took me a while to find....god knows why!!!...hmmm lazyness maybe? lol

This was my 3rd or 4th visit to this wetland, and I always wondered if there are actually Quenda's living here....should really do this cache at night with a torch...you never know, you just might see one Smile

TFTH

Dipping in: 2010 German Reviewers at Work geocoin

09-Nov-10
After seeing the earlier DNF I decided to amble over and found the cache after a bit of a search at GZ as I found the coordinates to be 8m directly south of where the cache was.

No swaps thanks for the cache.

09-Nov-10
Can't believe I'm logging a DNF for my first ever attempt at a FTF.After a sleepless night I arrived at WP1 just as it was getting light. Looked and looked but could not find,.It was very overcast but my GPS usually copes well I guess it was staring me in the face but I just couldn't see. Back at the car I waited a while thinking that another geocacher might arrive and we could join forces. Not to be. I will wait for a clue for WP1 and then try again. Thanks for the early morning walk.

09-Nov-10
*FTF* at 7.35 am

A lovely morning to be out in this bushland, but the flies were highly annoying. Found waypoint one ok, though in the morning light it was the same shade as the thing it was on. Sorry trevkevred, but wish you were around to help me with the ground zero as I had my morning brain on and spent about twenty minutes looking for something which turned out to be pretty much near my feet. I've returned feeling itchy, probably due to hearing yesterday afternoon of a tick one of my friends had on him over the weekend when we went caching.

TFTC and the prize! Dipping in my YES NO / YES NO / YES NO geocoin for a visit.
