As there's been no cache to find for some time, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.
On a big Easter caching mission with ZaraBus and TaybeeDragon. Lots of crawling through mines, climbing hills, walking through bush. And yet we only covered a tiny bit of the West Coast, between Greymouth and Hokitika.
Pretty sure this cache is not here. The hint is very specific, we even check to see if it had just been dropped. Incidentally the cache area is very clearly labelled as private property now. On the way back to Zara TaybeeDragon and me found an awesome little gold mine. What a great place for a cache! And it looks like it is out of range of the others nearby. Maybe inside?

Looked for quite a while. Looked at "male sheep", we got that bit, but nothing there to see! Shame.
In Hokitika for a fun family adventure weekend. Coming back from the Gorge and heading around to the Tree Top walk....hopefully all the heavy rain holds off enough for aome more fun. Cool spot. Boys loved playing on the Cat before we moved off.....Cheers.
Wasn't to sure bout go n down track as it said no entry BT went on dwn n boom there it was
Headed out to Hokitika George and for a loop around Lake Kaniere today, looking for a few caches on the way. TFTC!
Out and about with Mrs Nofs on a lovley West Coast day. Managed to take in lots of views and snag a cache or two while we were about it. Thanks for adding these to this part of the world.
Kids didn't even bother looking for this one... too busy playing on the cat. Easy find for the grown ups concentrating on the task at hand, Tftc
Someone knows not which is left and which is right but fixed.
Nice cache nice and early in the morn.

A long time between visits but finally can tick this one off.
Our interpretation of the clue was the other side. tftc

Found after a short search this afternoon. I didn't twig to the meaning of the hint until long afterwards - very clever! This machine isn't going anywhere any time soon... Signed log, TFTC!
For us as non native speaker the hint was not really a hint. So when we ignored it and trusted the GPS and our inspiration, quickly found. Thanks
Nice easy cache on a quiet afternoon out exploring. Down here for the Coast to Coast and had a few hours to spare.

Ah this brings back memories, i used to operate these Cats on the Upper Waitaki Power Scheme, a real shame to see it wasting away. Cheers for a great cache.
An most impressive cat, seems odd just to leave it there.
Many thanks for the placement.
Many thanks for the placement.
Checked the areas the GPS suggested... checked the hint and rechecked some spots. Rain together with the broken glass meant we did not search everywhere... including the spot the cache was hidden.
How can they just park and leave it? What a beauty! Thanks for bringing us down this road. TFTC.
glad the electric fence was off. waht a huge dozer just being left to rot. Thanks for bring me to see it
[Easy find. Mum knew what we were looking for before we left home. We started looking on our ]left[ then realised you meant the cats ]left side[ No trackable in the cache. TFTC
Second timne lucky! Spent half an hour looking for it last time, probably should have read the hint...
No sign of the Mega Scotland TB but will contact the TB owner direct, now that I've read the log book. Quick find in the rain. TFTC.
Hello...calling all cachers. Could the next cacher please let me know if the Mega Scotland TB has gone missing. Many Thanks and Hi from Scotland.
I really like these old interesting pieces of machinery to explore. Another added to my favourites list. Nice easy find - boy those are some big male sheep! SL Left TB TFTC
We quietly crept up on this sleeping cat and sought our prize. Then had a play, as you do... TFTC
This thing is going nowhere fast. Trees growing up through the tracks, and the head off the engine. Clever cryptic clues. Bit small to be the driver's lunchbox though.
Was great to have a look at this. it would have been an awesome sight to look at it in it's heyday. TFTC
Great spot. And our fifth FTF of the day - that would be a record for us, thanks!!!
