I am regretfully archiving this cache since there's been no response from nor action by the cache owner within the time frame requested in the last reviewer note.
Hi Technokitten
This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit and after my previous reviewer note, there has been no owner response. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).
I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.
Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache. If a month passes without seeing a response, then I'll assume that this listing should be archived.
Please note, that if a cache is archived due to lack of owner maintenance, the cache is unable to be unarchived.

As previous cachers have noted, there is a very clear sign prohibiting entry unless with a permit. If the cache is still present and accessible by boat/swim, the info needs to be updated and the T rating adjusted for access if not on private land.
Looks like this one might only be accessible by boat. I drove down the road and found a locked gate. A security guard in his truck came along and I asked him if the road was still open to the public. Seems not. Access by permit only and you need a key to the gate. So it would be crossing private land if walking the road. But may still be accessible if you go by boat but not sure if the cache is still on public land by the shoreline or on private land.
Well it is still accessible by water and is a lovely spot to visit. Parked nearby, and then took the path down to the beach. Three deep trenches have been cut into the road to stop cars from getting down to the beach. I suspect mischief by all the visitors (campers maybe?) for this drastic solution.
Sadly as to the cache, searched the obvious and no cache revealed itself. Not ours to find today

...I suspect this area has changed since the cache was placed. We were met with a gate across the road and a sign "Entry with permit only" about 500m from the cache.
Unless the CO knows of another, non-trespassing way of getting to the beach, I would think that this cache is now inaccessible and needs to be archived...

Day 2 of Mega - Geocaching Adventure
Teamed up with HKCB to tackle a few out of the way caches around the mountains, plus a few Lab caches on the way.
An amazing day, a not too early start, already had an event plus the sun is shinning. Perfect caching conditions! After driving to get some information for the Labs we headed back this way to start finding some 'real' caches.
Another neat little hidden spot on the lake. Couldn't convince HKCB to make it a driveby so we parked at the top and walked down. A nice spot to camp and there were some people camping nearby. Thanks for showing us

Day 2 of Mega 2016!
Today's goal was to head around the mountain to find the Lab caches as well as the caches up the Western side of the mountains, again like yesterday focusing more on the caches a little more off the beaten track than on the side of the road. Again teamed up with 11HPG11 for today's mission!
Could of probably got the car a bit closer but it had done enough 4WD'ing for the day so parked up at the road and walked down to the cache. A few boats on lake this afternoon, and a quick search at GZ the cache was found. Thanks for the hide.

A quick find with TregearP whilst out and about during the 2016 Mega in Turangi this weekend.
A quick walk in from the "main road". One lonely sole out fishing from a kayak just offshore from the GZ.
All in good order, TNLNSL, TFTC.

Myself, Philip Perry and Davidson clan teamed up once again to tackle as many caches around the mountain as we could during our visit to the Mega.
Another beautiful place to visit. Definitely worthy of a cache site here. Luckily we decided the track was too rough to get the van in, but we were surprised to see a family had driven their vehicles in and were camping alongside the lake.
Thanks for bringing me here.

What a great spot nice hide down here for the Mega so out and about the weather has been good to as HRBP
Out on a trip around the mountain doing a lab cache and picking up extra caches as we go. Log was quite damp Beautiful spot TFTC
With Gap (of Fap and Gap), NZFlossy, ABCDF4, and eyespyben... In Turangi to attend the New Zealand Geocaching Adventure 2016 event...
Saturday: Our family have camped and fished on this lake in the past... We found the hint object and spotted the hide soon enough. The lid of the cache shows signs of melting and has probably been burnt at some stage, The logbook was wet, but we managed to scrawl our handles on it. TFTC.

I was down in Turangi for the Mega this weekend. I teamed up with Philip.Perry and Tnxpro for most of the weekend we signed the log sheets Team BOP. Saturday we decided we needed to drive around Ruapehu today to get all the lab caches and stopped to get as many other caches we could on our travels. This part of the country is absolutely spectacular really enjoyed our time here over the weekend.
Team B.O.P. have made it to the 2016 NZ MEGA in Turangi and today is day #2. TNXPro, Davidson clan and myself have joined forces and today we're off around the mountain for the lab caches and any others that cross our path. This cache was found quickly and in good condition thanks to accurate coords, a good hint and a straight forward placement. Cheers Technokitten, a spectacular piece of country side but we made a wise call leaving the van on the road side - TFTC
Cache was not well hidden when we found it. The cap had been vandalized and it had water in it. The log book was still there but was wet. We hid the cache out of sight but it will need replacing.
A good hide in a great spot, signed the log and re-concealed...thanks for the cache!
Had to come and find this having just found your other nearby cache. The camobag is partly burnt but still doing a good job. Log still nice and dry. Thanks Technokitten.
Sadly we did not find it. Met up with some local campers who said that they had seen it previously but that it was no longer there please can the cache owner check. Thanks
Looks like a great place to camp! It lookd like someones fire got put of contro but thankfully the kowhai was unscathed... the camp has a couple holes burnt through & the lid quite melted but the trademark TK coverings seem to be keeping the log safely intact. TFTC!
No stealth required this afternoon - we had the whole lake to ourselves. We can see why this would be a popular spot. Thanks for showing us.
Found it, nice place TFTC.

I left the car on the 'main road' and upon reaching GZ I instantly found the cache.
The tree at GZ has obviously been on fire at some stage. The cache was found in the middle of the burnt tree but there was only a small amount of damage to the camo bag (a melted hole) and the lid has been melted but is still usable. The cache was dry inside.
Not too sure how the cache only got a small amount of fire damage in what would've been a decent sized fire.

There was some fire around the cache and it was damaged a little bit. I was not trying to get in. Otherwise nice place. Thanks.
1.50pm - Trout fishermen every where, had to use a little stealth to grab this one as one of the these fishermen was camped right beside cache. SLTFTC
A very cute wee beach on the shores of Otangarakau. Took my 2WD right down to GZ with only a few scuffs of the underbelly with some judicious driving. Another vehicle down here and a fisherman in the lake a mile or so offshore. TFTC TK
Found the spot of course but no cache. Still nice to visit. I did take a photo but now that I see the spoiler and we were at 2 mtrs I am sure of the place.
Easy find, a lovely spot pity the lake level is so far down. Small fish jumping but did not see any large trout. TFTC.
A quick easy find, after meeting the fisherman at whose spot the cache is placed. He knew the cache was there, as he apparently met the owner when the cache was being placed. TFTC
Went on our biggest cache hunt yet today with my 4-year old son. Looked for 11 and found all of them. This was the ninth of the day. Left a USA penny.
nice little beach that almost drove past, bit of an adventure driving in and out, but no worries, TFTC, great views from here.
Someone has crashed through the yellow road closure tape, so we thought we would follow. Found a full campsite and a wonderful vista!
but thought we had no hope of finding the cache, as a trio of fisherman within 2 metres. Stood and watched then moved off and chatted a while to a bus camper, who loves the place.
The fishermen gave up without a catch, and we split up - one to sit and grab, log and return the cache, the other to distract the campers still.
Then off we went. Good placement, except for the fishermen!

Found after a bit of groping around in the under growth, not sure what the track in has done to the wheel alignment of my car. Nice spot. SL TFTC
oh bugga,
This one did not show up on my GPS, will have to come back for a re-visit!

Original "naked" cache found intact minus log and pen wondered why folk could not find it... it was well hidden Replaced with TK bagged variety.
Recent weather has prevented replacement of this cache. It will be replaced on 03/09
Cache didn't look too healthy. Clear plastic drink bottle with a scrap of paper from Team Welsh (yesterday, not yet logged) inside. No log book. Suspect this cache has been recently muggled.
I'll let Team Welsh file a maintenance log.
Thanks for the cache.

Cache was located easily enough, laminated geocaching info inside but no log book. Left our name on a piece of paper, not sure what has happened here but seemed kosher enough despite lack of camo.
Thanks for another one! A pouring wet day, but still three tents set up close to the cache. Must be very keen!
It was campervan city here today, one muggle sitting leaning on the Kowhai tree with a fishing rod in his hands. He was using bait and a sinker, so he wasn't moving in a hurry.
Our 7th find on the way to Palmerstone North. A few fishermen were there but they knew about geocaching. Great spot.

#1800. As it was wet, we walked down the 4WD track, only to find another van and camper all parked up half way down in a nice spot. Couldn't see anyone around though. And continued down to GZ ... and O what a beach ... and it was empty of fisher or other muggles ... due to the rain perhaps.

great spot. kids loved swimming in the lake. another group of people swimming and having fun. was muggled by a fisherman, who said "don't leave your rubbish there" lol
XC decided to take the truck for a run to exercise the horsepower.. Came over the hill to knock off TK's new caches.. Parked the truck at the O and rode mountain bikes around to GZ.. XC located the cache and signed log while TK did a spot of fishing..
Another beautiful spot to enjoy.
I dropped in a trackable I bought over from Aus.

Too tempting to resist, we were up even earlier this time and the fishing rods mysteriously appeared in the back of the truck! Arrived at a very familiar location to find the well known seat already taken, a fisherman lounging in the back of his van and a campervan not too far away. Punga talked fishing language and managed a stealthy find, quickly signed the logbook for another FTF and then climbed down the bank with the fishing rod hoping for a repeat of Paua's performance several years ago when she hauled in a big one at this very spot. We stayed a while enjoying the early morning atmosphere, until another vehicle arrived and the spot got a bit crowded, it was starting to resemble a traffic jam at Bondi Beach! Time to go, we moved off to another possie and had a few casts but our tummys were rumbling and the fish weren't playing the game. Off home again after another very enjoyable start to the day. And the grey skies have now burned away to another brilliant cloudless blue day......perfect for a day at O What a beach!. TFTC.
